Zizzi - Exeter in Exeter

Didn’t get to eat as no one took our order. All 3 staff were too busy taking down Christmas decorations to be bothering with customers…..

Gracie was great really lovely food was shocking. :)

Booked our table well in advance. Our pre graduation celebration evening on December 12th 2024 was completely spoilt as the minute our table of 4 had finished our dessert's, a young lady, I presume a manager or supervisor, came to our table with our bill already printed out and asked us to leave as they were busy and had people walking in who wanted tables. We could not believe that we were singled out as most of the other diners in the restaurant had been there before we arrived. It doesn’t matter what the food, service and atmosphere were like (which were average at best) as this shockingly bad experience is sadly all that we remember from our visit. Surprised that Zizzi would so obviously show that they prioritise profit over customer care. We are regular visitors to Exeter and Zizzi and will not be back and have shared our experience with our friends in Exeter.

Hats off to the zizzis exeter team! We are finishing a delicious lunch right now, they are horrendously understaffed but they are absolutely working so hard to keep everyone happy. Head office please give your staff a juicy well earned christmas bonus!

We booked a table for my fiancé’s birthday, and the service was lovely. All staff were friendly and helpful - and the food as delicious. 10/10 would recommend!

Booked Zizzi for a festive lunch with some friends. The whole experience was great from start to finish. Ellie was our server and she was impeccable. Friendly and attentive throughout and by the end we felt she could've easily sat and joined us. Although extremely busy the food was delivered to the table in good time and was all delicious. Ellie did not rush us at all and helped us with recommendations from the menu.

We’ve been coming to Zizzi here for many years. Without fail, the food and service is the best in the city. Last night was no exception. Our friends were running late. No issues - our host (sorry we didn’t get your name - female, blonde hair) was fantastic, looked after us, friendly, attentive and funny! You made us feel very welcome and valued. However you train your people or recruit them you are to be congratulated. There are many restaurants where you pay more money, have food that’s average and the staff can’t be bothered. Well done to the team here - you’re brilliant. Thank you for yet another great visit when you got everything right.

I definitely recommend Zizzi's for a celebratory meal! We were very pleased with the table we received in the conservatory. The festive deal for £26.50 was a great value. The staff were incredibly lovely, and I want to give a massive shoutout to Gracie, along with another waitress who served us—unfortunately, I didn’t catch her name. Overall, it was a wonderful experience.

We were both really impressed with everything at today’s visit. The food was original, fresh and really really tasty. All the staff were good but our waitress Matilda was outstanding! Very attentive, but not over bering, she was super busy but always came to the table at the right time every time! You don’t see great hospitality much these days in UK restaurants, especially chains but this one bucks the trend. Will be back and well done to the management too!

A nice place that im sure many people will love. As there is more than like 5 people, for me it was not as fun and being a picky eater who was forces to come here, it was pretty good for the 2 bites I took.

Zizi Pizza is, without a doubt, the worst dining experience I’ve had in years. From start to finish, it was a chaotic mess, a masterclass in how not to run a restaurant. First, half the items on the menu weren’t available. How does a pizza restaurant run out of pizza basics? Forced into ordering more elaborate (and expensive) dishes, we reluctantly made our choices. Then came the dessert menu—an absolute disaster with only two options available. Seriously? After a painful 1-hour wait, the food finally started arriving. Except, of course, they messed up one of our orders. Did they apologize? Nope. They just silently went back to the kitchen to fix it, leaving one person in our group of ten to awkwardly wait while the rest of us tried to enjoy our meals. Spoiler: we couldn’t. When the last plate finally arrived, a full ten minutes after the rest of us had finished eating, it was so salty it was inedible. No apology, no complimentary side or gesture while they "fixed" their mistake—just an indifferent shrug from the staff. Even asking for a few glasses of water turned into an ordeal. We never got them. The staff were clearly overwhelmed, and honestly, I felt bad for them. The restaurant was packed with what must have been 100 guests, and there were only four waiters. It was a complete logistical nightmare, with distracted and unattentive staff struggling to keep up. This isn’t the fault of the front-of-house team; it’s a failure of management, pure and simple. To make matters worse, the beer selection was nonexistent—literally zero. How do you run a pizza restaurant without a beer option? Zizi Pizza is a blatant example of a commercialized mess that prioritizes packing in customers over providing any semblance of quality or service. If you’re thinking of eating here, don’t. Save yourself the frustration, and find a place that knows how to treat its customers and staff with respect.

Went for my nieces birthday party last night and the staff were just amazing, very helpful and so friendly. I didn’t have food as I was coming from work, but everyone said it was great. Good work!

Unassuming swanky joint. The atmosphere was very inviting, seemed a good mix of high modern energy, warm copper and beige colors for Italian comfort, soft lighting and blues for coolness and clean lines. In ways it appeared just rustic enough to feel more homey. Many seating options and areas! That said, pricey. That's the unassuming part - it seemed the sort of place that wouldn't be so expensive - however that might be a thought process on myself due to forgetting it is a high tourist traffic area and city. They were conscious of this though and did have a course deal which was quite reasonable by comparison. doubling back, it was delicious and justiable at the end. The portions of the main dishes could be a few bites bigger, but the flavors were all there and they all looked well plated. Many options too.

Ordered tonight via deliveroo and missing one main meal. Deliveroo didn’t want to know about it so £16 out of pocket! Not very impressed

We had a large christmas meal get together for 16. All the food was pre ordered, it all came swiftly with no hiccups. The staff were all over the service and always checking in with us. Couldn't fault a thing. Paying the bill at the end was so easy with no complications. Thank you team Zizzi Exeter xx

Visited Zizzi in Exeter today, we were served in the first instance by a lovely young gentleman(did not get his name unfortunately) We then had the wonderful Gracie, very helpful and courteous waitress. The food, as always was fantastic, the fondue cheese board was just delicious and the pizza, made and cooked to perfection. A lovely meal in beautiful surroundings and with happy and helpful staff. A thoroughly enjoyable lunch. Thankyou again to everyone in Zizzi's.

We had the set menu at £26.50 per person. Lots of choice and options. Food was very tasty and great quality. The restaurant was very busy when we arrived, but the staff were working hard and very apologetic for the wait. Our food took a while to come, but once the starter did arrive the rest came at a good pace. Our waitress (cannot remember her name) but she had red hair tied up and we were on table 50 was great.

I visited Zizzi with my daughter last week for lunch, and we were so disappointed. We ordered a pizza and some drinks, but the quality of the food was really poor. The pizza was absolutely horrible, and it seemed like the starter was literally frozen and then thawed out by the chef before being served—it just didn’t taste fresh at all. As for the drinks, they were just sparkling water with syrup, which they called a cocktail, but it had no real flavor. Good food should be about quality and care, and unfortunately, this experience missed the mark entirely. We definitely won’t be returning.

Came here to use my Tastecard and got such great value! 2 starters, 2 mains and a dessert with a drink for £34! Food: truffle arancini started had great texture! crispy and then soft on inside however not the strongest truffle flavour, didnt bother me though still nice. Got the garlic bombe too which was VERY filling for a starter! great portion size. For mains the chicke pasta was very filing and my pizza (forgot which flavour) was MASSIVE and i boxed half to go cuz i was so full. The dessert was a chcolate brownie salted caramel sundae and it was delcious with the crunchy honey comb! Gracie was our waitress and she was very friendly and service was fast and smooth! The seating near the glassed area is super cute for a date vibe and i would defo come again.

I come here regularly with my dad as a monthly treat. We are always greeted with a familiar friendly smile and a table waiting. The home traditions of Italy 🇮🇹 come through in their service. The food is fantastic. Never had a bad meal. The hustle and bustle of the live kitchen is brilliant. Heather one of the servers is just the best. Has an eye for detail. Friendly and a memory like an elephant 😃😃 100% recommend this restaurant for the best dining experience ❤️

Got to be the most bland and poor value pizza I have ever had! The first visit I complained that the idea was to put a decent amount of cheese and fillings and it was poor. To be fair, I was offered to return to have a free pizza. 2nd visit, exactly the same! I can only presume this place relies on tourists, so they just go away and don't return! Can't see any locals bothering to return! Place is nice, staff great, but the food! just don't!

food was good, but the vibe in there was immaculate. I came in for my brothers birthday and I was pleasantly surprised by the quality of the service. Gracie B served me and was very helpful. Great dining experience, lovely food! Went for the set menu, £25.95 for 3 courses. The portions are a good size, we took the pizza back in a box. Our server Gracie was so lovely, she helped us with our food options and checked on us.
