Frankie and Benny’s in City of London, Westminster

Previously you used to get table service, and a hot meal would be delivered to you. I went there off the street in September, it had mostly changed to a buffet but the main was still an order and had veggie breakfast. This time I was staying in the attached Mercure Hotel, it was all buffet. No veggie sausages at all, no longer stocked they said because people didn’t ask for them. Most of the food in the chaffing dishes was cold. Took one bite out of the stale croissant. This is a retro looking dinner but good quality is slop from the past. Best avoided.

Great meal. Forgot my cream on dessert but rectified once alerted.

Mikey was a fantastic manager had a slight issue with one of the meals brought out (our own fault as we didn’t read the menu ) he sorted it out so quickly !! Food was amazing staff happy and friendly . A lovely experience

It was AWESOME. It took a while but it's worth it. Despite the fact that it was almost full there was a very calm atmosphere.

Great Place if you wanna have fine italian american food. Best place if you want to be treated very kindly. Connie's service is top notch!

Writing this as I'm sat here. Festive meatballs were SO SALTY absolutely un edible. They tasted horrible. Food came 1 hour later! Our loaded fries forgotten. All the food was just bog standard. Dry burgers, tasteless. Really disappointed

First of all, the food did not suit Korean tastes. The beef burger was dry and without any juice, and the chicken piccante tasted like something had been made. Still, the service from the owner and staff was friendly and good. However, the problem was that one employee kept making racist remarks to us, saying the Japanese words “arigato gozaimasu” and “itadakimasu.” I usually don't leave reviews like this and tried to be patient with other people's kindness, but I was very disappointed in the employee's attitude until I left, and I was upset that it ruined my overall image of London. I hope that the boss provides proper employee training for the sake of the store. First of all, the food didn't suit the taste of Koreans. I hope that boss should educate the employee properly even for the sake of the store.

This is not Italian, it’s Italian American which is a huge difference. Where Italian restaurants use olive oils and different sauces, American Italian use tomato sauce. For mostly everything. This sauce is central to most dishes containing pasta. This leaves most dishes tasting the same and for some it’s bland. However it’s true to its style and tastes like it is supposed to, so no unpleasant experiences if you understand the style. Service was fine and speed of which we got to food was also fine. The kids vegetables had been sitting for a while and were dry, minus one star for that.

Have been served by Jayant a few times I’ve been in here over the past year or 2. Top guy, very attentive and friendly. Always seems to be by himself, even on busy shifts, so he’s also incredibly hard working. Would recommend this restaurant, the food has had an update and is great, and the atmosphere is always chill and not too loud, and has a good music selection

Lots of people, and families, therefore lots of noise. 2 servers so very long. Average Cuisine. In terms of Italian food, Bella Pizza is not far away and much better.

Brunch place unable to produce a proper flat white. The cutlery at the table still had food scraps on it and the mushroom on my plate tasted like “See you Monday”. On top we waited almost an hour for our food. If I hadn’t had the worst hangover I would have kept walking. 100% would not recommend.

Service and food was very good. Connie's service was beyond par excellence,even though the restaurant was extemely busy when i came,and will definitely recommend Frankie and Benny to friends and family. I came to visit London from Scotland. Keep up the good,courteous service.

I recently dined at Frankie and Benny’s and unfortunately, the experience left a lot to be desired. The service was subpar, with the waiter taking a full 30 minutes to bring over a simple Coke Zero. This only happened after I reminded him 20 minutes in, and he still had to double-check what I’d ordered. The drink eventually arrived alongside the food, which added to the frustration. As for the food, the Festive Burger was disappointing. The patty appeared undercooked, lacked any real flavour, and didn’t deliver the satisfying crunch I was hoping for. The chips were overly greasy and equally unappealing. Adding to the inconvenience, there were no napkins provided, and I had to request them separately. The dessert was the final letdown. The profiterole dish was frozen solid, making it nearly impossible to eat with the provided spoon – a saw would have been more useful! Overall, this was a very disappointing experience. From lacklustre service to underwhelming food, it’s not somewhere I’d rush back to.

Had a lovely meal at Frankie and Bennys in Paddington. The food and service were excellent, no wait time and very reasonably priced. The Gentleman who served us was particularly lovely, a very kind and considerate man. I'd highly recommend eating there if you find yourself in Paddington

Good food, simple but functional and good flavor

Our Google reservation for 9 people for breakfast was initially ignored, but we eventually found space. English breakfast was available from the buffet and was of average quality. The service made an effort. Not a revelation but not a letdown either.

Don't come this place . Truly bad experience with staff and with food as well. Staff were not friendly and not responding properly. I ordered pasta it was totally not good in taste, it was wastage of money. I recommend everyone not to come again here as this place has no proper service.

Breakfast included every morning with the stay at the Mercure Hotel. The food is available in abundance for the buffet and in quality. The staff is friendly and knows your habits when you regularly come there such as Connie the waitress.

We really enjoyed our meal here. The food was excellent! The service left something to be desired. We sat for nearly 10 minutes before our server came over to speak with us at all. The table sat a half minute after us actually left before the server came over due to not being acknowledged. But the server was friendly once she came to us, and she was attentive. We were slightly disappointed that they were out of water, but nonetheless, the food was delicious, and, in the end, we enjoyed our dining experience.

I just stayed at the attached hotel for 4 nights with a group of 30 travelers and Micheal took care of our group for breakfast and Dinner many nights. He was amazingly helpful to all of my travelers with directions and recommendations! He was so great to us!

The worst experience ever! It's slow food with poor quality and very disappointed service!!! The food is tasteless and the pancakes are not fresh!! It seems like it served yesterday and they bring it to you! Yawk!

The burger was really tasty but the meat ball was burnt a little ,In general everything was amazing especially the dessert the cheese cake.

We were there for breakfast and it was everything but good. The vegan breakfast was not fully stocked because we ran out of tofu. Instead, when I asked if that was okay, I was given two eggs. Unfortunately everything tastes average. Unfortunately, the American breakfast wasn't any better and the 3 pancakes were probably warmed up microwave pancakes, but never fresh! Unfortunately no recommendation, there are much, much better restaurants in the immediate area!

We sat down, ordered. My brother got his food, finished it and I didn't get mine. He got a main, I got a starter. I have waited 45 minutes for a pretzel. When I said something they didn't even apologise or anything. The place was half empty so it wasn't even a busy time or anything.

Waited for 25 minutes to order was told someone would be with us shortly twice, was not seen. Was walked past several times by staff.

Danger! Germans are treated worse here! Even those who arrived 30 minutes after us received their food before us. And when it came, the pasta was overcooked, without salt, and the chicken... Dry is not an expression at all... The service was also totally rude and rude... Save yourself the money!!!! Really!!!

A lone dinner, made welcome by the server gentleman. The food was very nice too. Didn’t get the servers name but I came in on 2 October at 2.30 pm. Lovely experience

Very good food and service! Highly recommended :). The server was so nice and communicated with us in a mature and friendly way. So kind!!

Main issue is they are understaffed. There was 1 front of house server the night we were there, and they were trying hard but had everything to do (seating, taking orders, delivering food, cleaning tables etc.) so it was all very slow. Pretty ridiculous. Didn’t stop them adding a 12.5% “optional” service charge (a curse that has spread through the uk recently). Was asked if we needed an allergy menu (a nice touch). When we said yes we were told to look it up on the website (not such a nice touch). Atmosphere is bland chain restaurant. In contrast the food was pretty good when it arrived - kids enjoyed the (adult menu) pasta. My salad was fine. Wasn’t thrilled the server left it by the till to seat some else halfway through bringing it to our table though….. Won’t be going back - plenty of other much better places around (Italian restaurants if you want pasta or pizza, steak houses for steaks and burgers, decent pubs for the rest). Gets 3 stars overall because of the food.

F&B's in Paddington is a great location especially just outside the newly upgraded station. Quick service, food is good but most importantly staff are very welcoming particularly Connie. Noticed that she was very efficient and very friendly with the customers. Other restaurants need someone like her.

My favourite egg is out of the menu, but he still made that for me❤️ Thankyou for that. 10/06/2024 I work right across the street and it’s one of my Favourite Breakfast spot after a tiring night shift. My favourite is their Egg Benedict.

Yesterday I have visited with my family and we have ordered veggie breakfast but it was not up the mark. Servers are rude and arrogant. It was wastage of time. We will never visit again.

Waited to be seated. Staff walking around but nobody seated us. After a few minutes we left and went to the steakhouse across the road which was lovely

Tasty food for a good price. The service was attentive and the people working there were all kind and smiley. I recommend this place, especially if you’re on a budget but still want to have a good meal. The english breakfast plate was pretty good and filling.

The food was good. Near to station, but the staffs were not approachable, didn't even asked for food allergies, waited for more than 15 minutes after ordering food. But noticed other customers are getting food on time. Staffs behavior seems to be biased.Saw lots of good reviews about staff. Don't know what happened or what was the reason.

I ordered the calamari rings and what I got was absolutely inedible and absolutely abysmal. It was so oily, full of salt, just blobs of batter on a plate and no sign of the actual calamari. A complete disaster and totally inedible. Very very disappointing. Francie & Benny's used to be brilliant and you were always spoilt for choice, but I genuinely wish we never walked in here.

Came here for brunch after a recommendation from a friend and it didn’t disappoint, the food and drinks were amazing and the waitress that served me was cheerful and polite and made the experience 10 times better. Would definitely come back and a top suggestion for friends

Restaurant just outside Paddington train station, it is also attached to a hotel so would see hotel guest having breakfast here. Also have shared bathrooms with the hotel. Seemed short of staff. Air conditioning is strong so food get cold quickly. Quite a few gluten free options which is great.

Amazing Food and Outstanding Service! I had a wonderful dining experience at this restaurant. The food was absolutely delicious, especially the steak and pasta, which were cooked to perfection and full of flavor. I also want to give special recognition to Connie, who was incredibly kind and patient throughout our meal. Her warm and friendly attitude truly made our evening even more enjoyable. The menu for breakfast/brunch is really unclear. The wrong eggs took over half an hour, the place wasn’t busy at all. There’s one toilet in the place, but OTHER toilets are available in the adjacent hotel down some stairs, along a corridor. about 80 yards away. Come on now.

Went into this restaurant with a 2 year old and buggy. I needed to sit next to my son to feed him etc whilst in a high chair. Was asked to move the buggy next to the table and have my son opposite, where I’d not be able to manage feeding or securing him should he try to escape. Due to this I left the restaurant without ordering. Would think restaurant staff would have used a bit of common sense, didn’t even try and resolve the issue when I said I was going to leave. Poor customer service and no provisions for parents and children.

Walked in here because we had to catch the train at Paddington. Apologies were offered for the longer wait (only 10 people eating). Furthermore, the service was very perfunctory and short. Chicken breast was very dry, salad in bowl was warm and fries a bit lukewarm and limp. Burgers were good. Not worth repeating for us. Better service and better food for the same money at the Italian restaurant down the road.

Our tour group booked a 3 course dinner meal. The chicken tenders is good. The ribs is excellent. The best is the dessert.

Cozy place with good food. Passed by first, as we really wanted fish & chips. But it wasn't on the menu on the outside. When we returned, there were also several others who went on because they wanted fish & chips. But when we got in they still had it. So they probably lose some customers because of this error.

Pros: Lovely staff who were accomodating and welcoming. Fast service and decently priced drinks. Clean with plenty of seating. Wheelchair accessible and great location next to Paddington Station. Cons: I was unwell after visiting and promptly projectile vomited my entire dinner back up. I'm not sure the bolognese I ate was reheated properly. The food was mediocre at best - wetherspoons quality for a not so wetherspoons price. Portion size and taste were not great. Toilets were a challenge to access. Unless using the disabled toilet - which was in a bad state - you had to go in to a nearby hotel, downstairs and through multiple corridors to use the bathroom.

The breakfast was actually really good. Unfortunately, one of us received her scrambled eggs only after everyone else had finished. The service seemed unenthusiastic and could definitely put in a bit more effort.
