I stayed for 3 nights with my family of 3. The room has a very classical and calm atmosphere. Since there were three of us, we took a room with a large bed and a cot, but we were shown to a room with a king-sized bed and a sofa. I left a note and a cot was brought to my room on the last day. The location was nice, quiet and close to the British Museum. What's more, you can easily walk to lively places such as Oxford Street, Regent Street and King's Cross Station. The front desk staff was kind and helped us carry our luggage.

Avoid This Hotel – Serious Safety Concerns I stayed at the Grange Clarendon Hotel on the night of 12th December 2024 and had a truly shocking experience—literally. While using the hairdryer in my room (008), I was electrocuted due to exposed live wires on the hairdryer cord hidden behind the desk. This incident was not only distressing but also a blatant safety hazard that could have had devastating consequences. The issue arose because the hairdryer was improperly wired, with a damaged cable running out of sight behind the desk. When attempting to check the connection, I inadvertently came into contact with exposed live wires. As a healthy adult, I was fortunate to escape serious harm, but the outcome could have been far worse for someone more vulnerable. If you value your safety, do not stay at this hotel. The negligence I encountered demonstrates a complete disregard for guest welfare. There are far safer and more reliable options in the area—choose one of those instead.

The hotel urgently needs to be brought into the 21st century! The old sliding windows have single glazing and are leaking. This makes it cold in the room. Despite the heater directly under the window. During breakfast the clearing up is very loud with clinking and clattering. Once used soap and towels are changed every day. Don't book!

Ideally located, this small hotel is ideal for a couple's stay in London. Points of interest are quickly accessible on foot or by metro! We had a room on the lower floor and therefore very little light, but the room was perfectly adequate. The only downside was that the hair dryer was out of order and the exposed wires were visible...

Check in was fine, I'm currently in my room but don't want to move rooms due to my chronic illness & my things being unpacked so I'm going to complain in the morning. Rooms are very dated, the bathroom doesn't seem clean, there's what looks like a dried bogey on the bed (which I've blocked that section off) & there's what looks like nail clippings & bogeys on my bedside table. The room was also freezing as the windows aren't sealed properly. Cracked tiles in the bathroom & mould aswell... The bed was also rock hard & very uncomfortable

Okay from an American perspective this is no way a 4-star hotel as Google suggested as the room is very outdated and small. No mini fridge either. It’s a 3 star for sure. The service was really good. The location is AMAZING mins away from the British museum

Stayed for one night with my mum. Room was very shabby walls dirty, bathroom had build up of dirt and was grimy. Had not been hovered there was bits and toe nails on the floor. Curtains were dirty and thick with dust. Bedside table was dirty. There is absolutely no care or pride in the hotel. We gave feedback with no response at all. Not worth the price they charge. Very disappointed. The hotel in general needs a lot of work even a lick of paint would help as long as it's cleaned too. Would not recommend this hotel at all.

For £225 I booked a double bed room but I only got a tiny room. It’s so tiny that only can fit in a single bed. No tables or chairs. Carpet seems not been cleaned for years as corners can see pile of dust. The fan noise starts from 6 AM. Shower door won’t shut. Table is greasy. Paid the breakfast then was been told you need to pay £5 extra to have the hot food. Not adequate to be a 4-star hotel.

This experience was very disappointing. The rooms are very dated (carpet, bathrooms all felt dank). The first night a fire alarm blasted on in the middle of the night (fortunately didn’t last long). At breakfast the staff was just bickering with one another. The men at the desk staff were fine, but not friendly. The whole place just felt sad. As for the room: The bed is extremely hard (some people prefer), sheets didn’t feel clean. No air inside which means open windows (also fine), bathroom fine but very weak water pressure. Location is truly fantastic but I won’t be returning. One more note—I didn’t get an automated mail thanking me for my stay and advertising future rates. When I clicked unsubscribe, I got a page error.

Perfectly located right next to the British Museum, which was a huge plus. My first impression was, ‘Wow, what a lovely atmosphere!’ However, my opinion shifted a bit after settling in. The hotel definitely looks better than it performs. While the staff are generally helpful, mornings can be quite chaotic, and I found some to be a tad rude. The rooms are spacious, which is great, but they’re in serious need of a refresh. The bathroom was nicely done, though waiting forever for hot water was a bit frustrating. Overall, I’m not entirely sure it’s worth the price.

DO not go here. Their employees go into your room and steal your cash. Apparently the safe was broken and had to be fixed that same day…. We had over 2000 euro stolen and the staff barely did anything to follow up with their staff. Not helpful and they are crooks

There were some issues on a specific aspect during my stay. Breakfast was not included in my booking rate and I decided to add one breakfast directly at the hotel at the check-in; to do so, I was asked to pay a pounds 20 "pre-authorisation" at my arrival... Then, at check-out time, I was charged pounds 19 (the breakfast price). I don'understand why I had to double pay to have one breakfast - I found this procedure quite uncommon. The bad thing is that I tried to contact the hotel by email and by filling their form but no unswer from them. They don't like that much their clients maybe? But they where good (and fast!) at taking the client's money. The hotel would need some refreshment for a 4-star level. You can find better options in the area.

The safe was broken, and their staff went through my belongings and stole from me. I got no support from the management, specifically Nick the DM and Olu the shift manager—they said they were investigating but didn’t give me any updates or information and they were also saying to us that we are making up stories and that we should’ve locked up all our valuables. I ended up waiting all day to file a police report with no help even though I had traveled across the world to visit. The lack of communication and transparency was really frustrating and completely unacceptable.

Good morning, I regularly stay in hotels whether for work or vacation. From July 30 to August 8, 2024 we stayed (my children, my friend and I) in this hotel which is super central, you can do everything on foot. Spacious room which suited us well but lacked cleanliness. The hallway is practically in your room because of too much noise. The super dirty carpet. Maintenance-free bathroom. Very cold staff. I am very unhappy because they took the liberty of stealing the sum of €350 from my holdall handbag which was always left at the hotel. The day we arrived in London, at the airport we exchanged the sum of €500 in Pound Sterling and I reserved €300 in my holdall with which I never went out with the room. hotel. From the first day we realize that the majority of places we frequent do not accept cash. As a result, we have to switch to bank cards very regularly. We tried to use up the pound sterling as best we could so as not to return to Spain with it. The day before our departure we had to go to Birmingham for a family visit. So, I took my tote bag to bring it back with me because it would be a long day. First surprise, the internal pocket is open and empty. I run straight to reception to report it. They make me understand that it's not possible because we don't steal from their hotel!! (Who are we kidding)? Their cleaners can't fly says the receptionist who was there that evening (the day before leaving for Birmingham). I remind him that they shouldn't but the facts are there and I want my money. He says he will consult the housekeeper in the morning before 9 a.m. I will have an answer. So in the morning before going to Birmingham, I went to reception and was made to feel like a fool with the same comments. They checked all the keys and entries and exits from our room and there were no anomalies, that is to say that someone entered without authorization. I remind them that the housekeeping staff comes in every day for cleaning and can do anything. I want my money back. I ask to speak with the Boss, I am made to understand that he will be there the next day (day of our departure at 8:30 a.m.). So it is the day of our departure and I go down to wait for the Boss. The speech is the mm. I request the video recordings. He tells me to file a police report if I want so they can have access to the videos. He can't do anything. I advise you to be careful in their hotels. There are thieves among their maintenance staff and others. Your belongings are in no way safe in this hotel. How can I be reimbursed for the amount that was stolen from me at this hotel? Have a nice day everyone!

Tired and worn hotel in perfect Central London location. Hotel is well overdue for a complete overhaul; carpets are beyond old, paintwork exposing the bare wood, wall surfaces scuffed. Bathroom towels were stained - the first time I have ever seen this in any hotel in any country after 20 years of international travel. No airconditioning, only a small desk fan hidden in wardrobe. Given the overnight temperatures experienced in recent years, the bare minimum should be a large diameter ceiling fan. At checkout the staff were more interested in completing their own paperwork than processing their guests Not a hotel you would choose unless you're desperately missing that 1970s vibe and have no expectations beyond that period. I have stayed in many miserable places and this is not the best of them. I would recommend any budget chain hotel over this.

4-star hotel located in a perfect area for getting around the city and very beautiful because it is quiet and close to a park. Unfortunately the hotel is very neglected, it needs to be renovated, changing the broken curtains, the windows and the bed fabrics. Mattresses a little worn out and pillows uncomfortable, as if they had stones inside because they were in lumps. I had booked a room with 2 double beds but they gave me a double bed and a sofa bed with a very thin mattress that collapsed in the middle, it was very uncomfortable. The biscuits, herbal teas and tea for breakfast were much appreciated.

The location is very good, easy to reach the subway, shops and bus. The room was large (had a 3-bed room), but clearly worn out. The breakfast (continental) was sufficient but not outstanding. Breakfast times lasted until 10:00 a.m. At 9:30 a.m. the near end of breakfast times was announced with loud vacuuming and awkwardly noisy handling. The room cleaning service was good and thorough. By no means a 4 star hotel, but based on the location and the price we would come back.

The hotel is situated at a very good location in the heart of central London, very close to the British museum, with a lot of places within walking distance, or a short tram/ bus ride away. The rooms were old and cramped. The carpets gave me the creeps. To put it mildly, I wouldn’t want anything but my shoes touching it. I mean loosely speaking, one step into the room, you’d be on the bed. The washrooms though were super clean and tidy. You need to ring the bell outside the door and wait for someone to open the gate, so keep that in mind if you’re planning to come in late. We had to wait a couple of times. The staff is fairly courteous, but there’s not much that they offer in the way of services, other than a nice chat and pleasantries. If you find this place or any of its neighbouring properties called Grange, at a good price, and you don’t intend to spend a lot of time in your hotel room, don’t think twice before booking it.

“Not 4 star worthy” If you have heard the saying shabby chic well this was just plain shabby. Very dated decor and not well kept. Pealing wallpaper, paint dirty, bathrooms with mold, bed a saggy hard mess. Fire alarm went off for 2 seconds early morning and woke us all up. Also, this booking via Agoda said that it included breakfast. Be aware the breakfast is NOT a full breakfast. Also, getting down to breakfast 15 mins before ending elicited negative reactions from chefs in the form of shouts of “we are finished” from kitchen and not a full English breakfast for those in our party that had to pay an upgrade fee.

I had an extremely disappointing experience at Nero. The waitress was incredibly unprofessional and outright rude. Despite the cafe being open and having available seating, she refused to let us sit inside and insisted on giving us coffee to-go. Her attitude made us feel unwelcome and uncomfortable. This was especially surprising because I really love this cafe and have always had great experiences here in the past. It’s disappointing to encounter such behavior, as it does not reflect the high standards I associate with Nero. I hope this was a one-time issue and not a sign of declining service.
