Great meal as per usual. Michelle K is excellent and Claire has looked after us really well this year.

We had a great birthday meal at harvester for a larger group! They bought out our cake and sang happy birthday with such enthusiasm! It was absolutely brilliant. The food was lovely and well priced and Michelle K informed us about the app and loyalty card. Michelle was an angel and nothing was too much trouble. Can’t recommend enough.

Your server was great. We live nearby so we walked for dinner for my husbands birthday. We have had a bad experience previously but thought it was worth a try again. What a mistake. The steak was so tough I struggled to cut it, the chicken you could sole your shoe and the fries were cold

Food was cold. And my sons flat bread was wet. Just wasn't ideal 😕 we didn't complain because we were in the bar and didn't want to cause a seen.

The refurbished restaurant in Plymouth is lovely. Due to an ankle injury my wife was using a wheelchair. The restaurant is ideal for access, (which I hadn’t noticed before). However it was the service received by Ellie that made our visit so enjoyable. Her personable manner and attention is head and shoulders above staff from other well known chains. 10/10

Lovely food, but the restaurant was cold, so we were a bit uncomfortable. We did mention it but we weren't able to move as It was very busy. Nice welcoming atmosphere.

First time I have been here since it was refurbished. Food was good as we had the breakfast, new menus was disappointed that they didn't have gf (gluten-free) symbol but did have vegan and vegetarian! Wasn't offered anything in place of the toast (don't do gf toast!) Couldn't have the poached egg due to it being cooked in barely! They didn't have any mushrooms which we didn't know until our breakfast arrived! Unlimited hot drinks were very good, overall price was good about £10 each.

Waited an hour for a delivery. To have it cancelled. If you can't manage orders stop taking them Waste of time. Will never use them again In response to your comment (owner) the app stated we had an allocated driver. However, the Harvester could not fulfill our order. Our issue is we waited an hour, then suddenly, less than 30 minutes before arrival, order was cancelled. Luckily, we have other places we can eat in, you have plenty of other customers.

Evie was amazing really attentive

In spite of a shortage of staff, Ellie was excellent, giving her time but also being efficient.

Second time coming to eat here, partly because the 50% off, however it’s very nice the staff are very accommodating, we were served the second time by Evie and she was polite, friendly and nothing less than excellent 10/10.

Ordered food, when arrived several items missing from plate, when asked said they were out of it, but no mention of this when ordering, offered rice as replacement but arrived when food virtually eaten

I came here in late November as a big party of about 12, with one OAP and four children. It was packed so our food was pretty slow to arrive, but all the staff were so kind and friendly that they totally got away with it. Our waitress was called Skye I think, and she was brilliant. It was a shame there wasn't much veggie food, I think all our veggies had to have the veggie burger and they didn't rave about it, but everyone else's food was nice. The salad bar was kept very tidy and well-stocked and I always appreciate a nice, clean toilet too. A great little Harvester!

“When Chaos Meets Chainsaw Burgers: A Harvester Tale to Forget” Ah, Harvester, where memories of fresh salads and smiling staff go to die. My latest visit was the culinary equivalent of stepping on a LEGO barefoot—unnecessarily painful and oddly hilarious in hindsight. Let’s start with Jackie. Jackie was the embodiment of “customer service is optional.” Abrupt? Sure. Smiling? Absolutely not. Watching her sigh as if grabbing a vinegar bottle required the strength of a thousand warriors was truly a spectacle. Then, in a masterclass of efficiency, she placed our empty vinegar bottle on a table being prepared. Why bother with such herculean tasks like replacing an empty bottle with one that had actual vinegar? We attempted to order calamari. “None in, been the same for weeks,” she quipped, as though calamari were some mythical creature no longer caught in these parts. Onto the refit: whoever designed this place clearly had a sense of humor. Salad sauces and bread rolls were placed in the busiest staff thoroughfare, a corridor of chaos where staff and plates collided like bumper cars. One of these collisions involved my plate being knocked out of my hands by a poor server. Not their fault—the layout is more dangerous than a reality show obstacle course. Now, the food. Oh, the food. I ordered the Beef Classic Burger, which I can only assume was named ironically. Cutting it required either a chainsaw or a gym membership. It had all the flavor of damp cardboard, saved only by the bacon and cheese desperately trying to salvage its reputation. The chips tasted like they’d been fried in the tears of previous customers—hinting strongly at oil that probably pre-dates the refit. And the famous salad bar? Once a Harvester highlight, now reduced to a sad collection of not olives and empty condiment bottles. One sauce took 25 minutes to replenish after multiple requests. Were they making it from scratch? Milking cows for the dressing? Who knows. When I raised my concerns about the inedible burger, the kind lady who seated us was apologetic, understanding, and shocked that Jackie hadn’t checked in with us. She issued a refund, proving that someone here still had a pulse and a sense of decency. But the grand finale? Waiting ages to pay at the bar because no one seemed to notice we still existed. Dear Harvester, your refit is a masterpiece of poor planning, your staff (excluding one gem) seem to be in the running for the “Least Interested Employee” awards, and your food? Let’s just say I won’t be needing a burger-flavored chainsaw any time soon. If you’re looking for a dining experience that’s part sitcom, part disaster movie, and entirely forgettable, Harvester’s got you covered.

Family of 4 visited on xmas day for the fourth year and once again we had a very lovely meal with friendly service. Very good value for money! Was busiest we have experienced and I do think timed seatings would help. Also please bring back pate for next year! Not a negative, but feedback, way too much on the roast! One slice less of turkey and one less veg would have been more than substantial! We saw quite a few tables leaving food, which was gutting cause it was very tasty! Just too much! Thank you for a lovely meal!!

We pre booked a table for 3 for a Christmas meal for my elderly mother as a treat. Unfortunately there wasn’t any Turkey so opted for the Chicken option. Looked good on the plate but unfortunately the carrots, broccoli and peas were tepid and watery. The carrots were old, rubbery and difficult to cut and the Broccoli was undercooked. Our waitress was fantastic and brought replacement veg but they were similar. She agreed that the meal wasn’t up to standard offered more potatoes which were fine. She also adjusted the bill to compensate for the issue. So the staff are great but the meal wasn’t an embarrassment.

Last time I was in here I wrote them a letter of many complaints. This time, they've had a refit, changed the menu and the attitude and all in all up'd their game somewhat. Had a really good meal. Hope they keep it up. However, dreadful choice of beers with no cask ales available, no excuse these days.

My partner and I stumbled across this pub this evening and we’re not disappointed. Food cooked by Chef Taylor was really good. Service by Zoe was absolutely fantastic. She had a lot to do and was flying around the restaurant covering a lot of tables but kept her cool and was very attentive and happy to chat. Salad bar was a little lacking. Lots of empty items that could have done with refilling but apart from that, brilliant. Would highly recommend!

Lovely unexpected visit today. Managed to seat us despite not booking, so we were lucky. Greated on arrival by Ellie and served us. Very quick service. Love the renovations in the building since we've last been. Fresh salad, and the main meals were hot when came out. Good value, great atmosphere. Will come again

I went with my friend to have a Sunday lunch at the Unicorn today. We decided to go for the Xmas Dinner, a roast with turkey and all the trimmings. I can honesty say I've never had a worse Christmas lunch in my life. I also had no idea that it all came out of the freezer. Frozen unpleasant roast potatoes, a dried up stuffing ball, raw broccoli and cold peas. The wait to order and be served was long too. I did complain but was just told I should have said something when it arrived. Unfortunately, we didn't realise until we were picking our way through it. The salad bar was empty of a lot of items too and the place wasn't exactly packed out it. We won't be returning.

I visited on Saturday for a work Christmas meal and it was lovely. My waitress, Katie, was super friendly and very prompt. Overall excellent service no complaints. I had the festive burger and if you like camembert it is the food for you!

First time I have visited 'The Unicorn' in many years. They had a 40% off food voucher, so decided to try it out. Nice layout, plenty of parking. The free salad bar was very nice with lots to choose from. I ordered the Scampi and my daughter ordered the Burger. Took about 10-15 minutes to arrive. Both dishes were very tasty. Nice waitress and helpful. The original bill came to £37.73 (for two meals, 1 x Tropical Cooler and 1 x Unlimited Drink) with the 40% voucher taken off it came to £25.73 - (BARGAIN) - will more than likely use again, with a voucher.

I don't usually do a negative review however, our experience on Monday 2/12/24 wasn't great. We has been seated 40 minutes and still hadn't received our drinks; when they finally came, along with our salad bowls, the salad cart was dreadful....not only was there very limited choice, but the lettuce looked like it was a week old as did the coleslaw and, the cucumber was slimy. An hour into being seated We still hadn't had our starters and were on the verge of leaving when they finally came. They were fine. Our mains were adequate but far from perfect. The coleslaw was the same as the salad cart...brown & old looking, the chicken, whilst edible, was dry and over cooked. We asked for a quiet table but got seated between 2 noisy groups. The restaurant was not busy, there were many empty tables. We have used the Harvester a lot and always been happy but this was well below par. My favourite desert is lemon blizzard but we decided not to stay for desert. Very disappointing especially as it was a birthday meal. Save to say we won't be back to this one.

Came here today after a walk around Saltram with the Grandson's & dogs for a drink & nibbles. Comfortable, warm seating in a bright, airy part of the pub nicely decorated for Christmas. Friendly staff, polite & happy to serve. Good selection of lagers, ciders, wines, and bitters, which are overpriced in comparison to other pubs in the area, to deter we think, workmen & groups heading out. A good selection of food on the menu, something for everyone, typical family eating house, but good value for money. We went for a 3 plate starter deal to keep us going. Plenty of parking & seating outside in good weather makes this a nice dog friendly place to stop for a drink or food.
