Food was amazing as always it's my new favorite place to eat

Came here with my Nan and OH last Sunday for a bite to eat and it was lovely! The food was really good and well priced and we were pleasantly surprised by the few vegan options they had available, although not everything that was on the website was on the menu BUT still has a very tasty vegan meal as well as two Sunday roasts. The customer service from the guy on front of house was brilliant, letting us taste a beer before ordering anything. He was very welcoming and really helpful and friendly. Id definitely come back!

Have eaten here a few times now and every time the staff are excellent, the food is top quality, the service is done at a great speed, a lot of pubs could learn a thing or two from this one, it reflects great on the staff and management.

Only been for drinks, but a lovely pub inside and out. Menu looks great and food smells lovely.

Not from the area so booked this from the reviews. Firstly it's a very nice venue. Lovely location and I bet it's fab in the summer months. Staff were very nice too. Really good atmosphere and very busy say it's January. But unfortunately the food wad a let down I'm afraid to say. All our meals were cold! The potatoes were burnt and the stuffing was bone dry and rock hard. Such a disappointment. I genuinely don't like being negative but being honest. I can only assume that we were unlucky

Very disappointing once again, I visited about three years ago and said never again, this time I went with a group of friends for a pre Christmas meal, I had asked a friend who lives locally if she ate there, her reply was ‘no, the food is bought in and heated on the premises’, now I know what she means, Roast potatoes were pale, not roasted, couldn’t cut through them, microwaved too long, broccoli soggy, Yorkshire pudding overcooked ( not usually served with Turkey) gravy just like water, left most of my meal, the only redemption was the cheesecake desert, definitely my last visit.

We have visited this place a couple of times now and it’s a lovely warm inviting atmosphere which is also dog friendly which is great , there’s a lovely bar area and a really nice restaurant part , the service is really good as the food is very tasty and worth giving it a try , in summer it will be great also as the outside section is lovely

Sadly won't be going back there was 7 of us and only 1 satisfactory..we ordered 2 mixed grills well done..it was disgusting when arrived dripping in blood undercooked sausage chicken steak and cold jacket potato etc I had to ask for manager who asked if we wanted another one cooking but we declined and had fish n chips with mushy peas..well all the chips were cold and only a spoonful of peas ..sadly very disappointed and won't be back..the waiter and waitress were quite embarrassed to be honest and kept apologising..manager doesn't seem very confident in his role to be honest

Popped in for one drink. Very quiet. Place looks very festive.

Me and my dad called in here when passing by for lunch. So we hadn't pre booked, we were greeted with a smile and taken to a table of our choice. We wasn't disappointed!! My dad had the two courses for £12.99 - Chargrilled gammon, egg, chips and peas followed by apple crumble and custard. I had the ultimate burger 🍔 £15.99. I can honestly say the burger is one of the best I've ever tasted 😋. Service was friendly and quick, I would highly recommend eating here and I'll be going back to indulge in the near future.

Tenía un plato "más compartido" de camembert para un entrante que venía con 3 rebanadas diminutas de pan , cuando pedimos más pan porque 3 claramente no es suficiente para que 2 personas compartan nos dijeron que tendríamos que pagar y luego esperaron 15 minutos para dos rebanadas más . . . ¡Absolutamente ridículo!

Horse and Groom is one of our favourites for great food and top service. Tonight we came in with family and friends to celebrate my son getting his black belt. I mentioned to our lovely waitress that I had got my son a giant cookie and she took it away so she could surprise him. Another member of staff joined whilst they played congratulations music and sang to him. It felt very special and It really made my sons night and ours - thank you! 😊

We had lunch here today, there were 15 of us including two toddlers that wanted to run around and explore. The staff were lovely, friendly, helpful and very accommodating of the two little ones. The restaurant was very tastefully decorated for Christmas, so there was a lovely warm feel about the place. Having said that, the building is set out with little nooks here and there for tables in an interesting layout, thus giving it a cosy feeling anyway. On to the food. The overall remarks were very positive and the only small issue we had was that one of the food orders had been lost. This was very quickly solved, no problem. Each individual family car (5) had travelled at least an hour to get here and as a meet in the middle location this venue ticks all the boxes.

Good place to eat staff very nice. Fault.. run out of items on the menu often usually my favourite dessert. 😳

Top Food and service as always. Never had a bad meal here. Brilliant inside and out especially in the summer. Lots of regulars who enjoy the drink and we always go whenever we can for the Sunday Roast. Bar and cover service always excellent and attentive. Dog friendly clean and a great atmosphere. Even when it's busy we have never been let down and the wait time has always been minimal. We have been to many restaurants this year from Carvery to Mich * and always use this venue as our favourite local go to.

Arrived for dinner, seated on time, ordered food and drinks which were delivered in good time. Young chap running round like there was nobody else there, bringing food out and clearing tables but apart from him, nobody seemed bothered. Not particularly busy. Two other staff wandering around doing very little apart from taking the odd bill to a table or having a chat. Sat for 20 mins being ignored with empty drinks glasses and no food on the table, got bored, paid and left. Shame really as the food was good but won’t rush back.

We visit this pub quite regularly as it is local and every time we eat here there is a wait for desserts. Our order was taken straight away fir drinks then our food order was taken. Good start. The salmon meal was gorgeous I would definitely order it again my husband had the katsu chicken and was lovely. Then we were given the dessert menu and we waited and waited to order. I caught the assistant managers eye and asked if we could order he apologised for the wait. Then after ordering we must of waited another half hour for the desserts in the end I got up to cancel it and was going to pay when they appeared the waiter apologised and said there was a mix up. It put a downer on our meal it seams every time we have a meal here there's a problem with ordering desserts a shame as the food was lovely

Lovely Sunday lunch here had the turkey which was very nice could have been hotter , the one thing that let this down was the service we were a party of 4 , 3 dinners came out quickly the 4th had to wait which wasnt great we had to ask 3 times where the last dinner was and our server wasn’t that helpful she seemed to huff and just say it’s being plated up , then I asked for a brownie sundae and got a different brownie the young man was apologetic and did swap it and it was lovely asked for 2 coffees got one and had to ask again for the other coffee they just don’t seem to listen it was a very busy place maybe the staff were overwhelmed, the food was lovely service not so great

I booked here to celebrate a freinds birthday who lived fairly near by so it was a bit of a blind booking. It was great from the get go. We were greated on arrival with a lovely smile and shown to our table, drinks were quickly ordered and delivered, plenty of friendly staff on hand. We were told as it was busy it was Sat afternoon and full, there would be a wait for food this was absolutely fine. The food arrived quicker than anticipated and was lovely. The pub and resturant are nicely decorated and the tables spaced out just right, nothing worse than being squished in somewhere, which shows care for the customer. Would definitely recommend and visit again even though it's a bit of a drive out for us. Thanks all for making our friends birthday a great day. 🙂

Such a shame used to be a good reliable meal. Was poor 2 months ago but decided to give it another go. Was a mistake. Wife ordered signature burger and onion rings came out raw and then bit into the burger to find it totally raw and cold. I had the BBQ platter and cut into the chicken to find it cold all the way through and not cooked. The food was that poor would be surprised if there was a chef in the kitchen. Raw chicken is not just a mistake it's a health hazard discraceful.

We haven't had a single bad experience here. And we have been coming here for many years. Food is excellent, staff are very friendly & courteous. And always a plus is that we can bring our dogs along if needed, and they enjoy all the fuss.

Visited on a busy Saturday evening to celebrate my daughter’s 17th birthday as a family party of 17 people. Excellent and accommodating service from the outset. Whilst my first thought was for each of the households in the group to use the app to save the task of dividing a large bill, the lady explained she would take orders per household whilst putting through to the kitchen as one for a seamless service and then provided us with receipts to settle later - perfect! Drinks easy to order through the app and served to the table as and when we wanted to order more. All 17 meals were served hot and exactly as ordered at the same time - kudos to the kitchen and chef for such a large order of a variety of meals. We had a great evening, my daughter had a brilliant time with both sides of her family together and would highly recommend for large groups.

Always a good place to visit. Staff are friendly and welcoming. There are a good range of drinks and tasty food to pick from. The pricing is good so a meal out doesn't break the bank. We had 2 mains, 2 puddings and 2 drinks for less than £60 Would we go back, yes definitely!

Told only certain items can be ordered off the menu… However, other guests seem to get what they want if you know them… when questioned….. well you have ordered your food now….poor service, expensive. Spend your money elsewhere. Spent £125…. Not shirt change in my opinion.

We recently had a family get together, 13 of us, everything went fantastic, great food served at the right time with some having starters.

Amazing food! perfect deserts and my grandad got given a happy birthday tray for his brownie sunday, amazing, polite staff, tremendous atmosphere and feel really comfortable and happy sat were we was, staff kept asking if we was okay and if the food was of good standard and couldn’t fault the food one bit! would recommend this restaurant to anyone and will most certainly be showing our faces here again. thankyou x

Lovely pub with a wonderful atmosphere and great food. The bar staff are lovely, especially the tall man with glasses, he could not do enough for us. The only reason it loses a star is due to the blonde, what I’m assuming is manager, seemed very stand offish and seemed to be being rude to her team of hard working staff. Apart from that worth a visit x

When I first walked in, I noticed the very stressed and unfriendly assistant manager, no smile on his face, we were getting drinks at the bar and he came over, he was quite off and direct about table service and said that due to a function upstairs, it would take a while for food. When it came to ordering, I was requesting various dishes and was told they weren't available, I ended up with lamb kofta starter and scampi. The kofta were very small, the chips were under cooked and were so bland, I also had about a tablespoon of mushey peas. My Mum and I had 3 scoops of icecream which were all very small. Service was indeed very poor, slow and it felt like an inconvenience to be there. The experience I felt was very overpriced. The service manager clearly needs a break or more staff, and also further support from the chain. It's a shame because I visited a few years ago and it was great, it has gone downhill for me and I feel it needs drastic improvement

Lovely pub. It was great to take the dogs and sit out in the sunshine. Shame about the food, though. Stale bread with the prawn cocktail. Salmon was not grilled and looks nothing like the pic on the menu.

Dinner for 2 on a busy Saturday evening, birthday meal. Couldn't single out a member of staff, they were all very attentive and helpful. Bit of a wait for starters, but as I stated, it was a very busy time. Starters, main and desserts all enjoyable. Excellent service. And thanks for little extra on dessert dish.

We shared a chicken platter and cheese and bacon fries..... I have to say the fries were poor and the chicken platter was underwhelming.

We went today and I had a vegetarian breakfast and the bread was burnt and rock hard and the tomatoes and hallumi were missing, the mushrooms were raw and I got about 20 beans. When I asked about the missing items the lady said they didn't have any but wouldn't have said anything to me if I didn't ask. We have been regular customers here but we will never go again. They tried to serve me half a breakfast and get away with it. They still charged us full price. Very disappointed indeed. I don't like being taken for a fool.

Came here a few weeks back as I'd not been for a long time and we fancied trying somewhere different. The pub, staff and food was all really good. Returned recently to celebrate our son & daughters birthdays and delighted to report the same. Really nice pub, friendly staff and the food is fantastic. Looking forward to our next visit already!

Promised I wouldn't eat there again after having the chicken fajitas, which were dried up and the onions and peppers were burnt. However, 5 months later, I ordered the hunters chicken, which was completely dried up, and couldn't chew it! A few chips, which were mostly the little bits in the end of the pack. It's not exactly a cheap place, very disappointed. A nice outside area which is spoilt by kids that allowed to kick footballs which twice nearly knocked mine and other people's drink off of the table.

Nicole was bloody amazing she made our lads evening. We all really enjoyed the food.

Nice relaxing pub with good food .

Arrived after 2.00 pm for Sunday roast, without pre-booking. Staff were accomodating and we were served pretty quickly. My only criticism is the portion size of the meal, which was hidden under a huge Yorkshire pudding. It looked as though they were running out of meat. I'd ordered the 3 meats roast for £15.99. I think I got 2 pieces of turkey and a slither of roast beef, 3 small pieces of roast potatoes, a few carrots and a lot of peas. Apart from that everything was ok.

Came for lunch today with friends. Pre booked. They advised they had a limited menu due to a busy weekend. Despite this we all had a lovely meal. The staff did their very best to satisfy. Well done in this heat too. We all left full!

Went for a meal yesterday the restaurant was really busy but Laura went out of her way to find us a table and make sure we were comfortable. The meal was lovely and the service was excellent . The staff were extremely busy but still made sure everyone was happy and had been served

Called in by the off chance, was made to feel welcome straight from the beginning, a young lady who's name is Robyn took our drinks order, came back to take down our food order, when she came back to ask if everything was ok, I said apart from the peas, straight away she went away and bought me another pot, she is a credit to your establishment ..

A big thank you to all the team at Horse & Groom, Moorgreen, Nottingham who have fed and watered us both all this week while we were having a new kitchen. We kept on going back as they are all friendly and welcoming and the food's not bad either.A special mention for Nicole who looked after us the last half of the week. We highly recommend this pub if ever in the area, can't fault it.

Lovely afternoon in the beer garden, food is good for the price. We were served by James (Vera), who was super friendly and professional.

A family favourite, dog friendly and a nice menu, good veggie and vegan options, lovely garden to sit in as well in good weather. Staff are always helpful. We are regulars and love it there.

Great atmosphere, food is good too. We’ve always been felt very welcome whenever we come in. Especially by Vera who never fails to make us laugh!

Only point was that the bar area has high tables only which are difficult if you are not very tall. Server Laura was lovely and food was very good

It was a brilliant day, the food was outstanding. The service was excellent. Laura looked after our party all afternoon and went above and beyond.

When entering the building bar restaurant area we where very quickly acknowledge by Antony and then the lovely lady called Laura quickly took our order and helped us with what we wanted The meal then came quickly and Laura acknowledged us all the way through our stay. John and I (Julie) love coming here because the bar is very very relaxing with great friendly staff plus wonderful food of course and not forgetting all the excellent real ales. I ordered the mini mixed grill, told they didn't have any eggs .. I don't eat gamon so they gave me extra piece of chicken that was dry. The sausage was barely warm and the chips turned out to be fries. My friend had the fish and chips, fish was lovely but again the chips were those skinny fries.

My family and l came here for Friday lunch which we thoroughly enjoyed. We were served by Laura who was friendly and efficient but all the staff were excellent. This is one of our local pubs and we have been coming here for over 20 years as we know that we will also get decent food and service.

Popped in for an afternoon drink. Sat outside in garden area. Lots of tables and an extensive play area for the children.

First time going here and not disappointed. They do t bone steak(my fave) and it didn't disappoint.staff were friendly and helpful. Will definitely be back

Visited here numerous times and I have to say the food and service are always 10/10. Green king pubs are always a letdown but the horse and groom is top notch is the best pubs in the area by far. Always my go to place for a steak. Would attach pictures but always forget as too wager to tuck in.

Have visited this pub a few times in the past. Generally, food is OK with some nice bits on the menu. And the beer garden is a nice area to sit in.

Lovely pub! We have been for family meals a few times. Really enjoy spending time here. I have coeliac disease and feel comfortable eating here. They even have gluten free peroni! 🙌🏻🥳
