Great pub, friendly staff and foods good too.

Unfortunately the pub is ok but very poorly maintained, broken glass all over the car park especially in the charging spots and has been here for weeks.

Latest visit was during bogof offers and could not be happier! 2 steak flatbreads chips and 2 drinks £14 quid -proper tasty, service top notch and bargain to boot thank you Sherwin! 😋 🍷 🍟 🥩 🫓

Christmas lunch.first time.. Very well organised, the ood came quickly,and was hot. The staff were friendly and efficient.

Always a friendly atmosphere and nice ambience, fun crane game for the kids and pool for the adults so always something to pass the time with. Staff are kind and helpful always. Only thing that needs upgrading is the toilets but other than that all is lovely.

Nice place with parking. Close to the Motorway and 10 minutes from the city.

Christmas Day dinner was amazing and topped last year. From the minute we arrived to the chef popping out and saying hello after we wanted to say thank you, our whole experience was fantastic. The Sherwin arms is a great place for family.

Went for a festive meal booked for 1.30pm today 26th boxing day the food was totally inedible you couldn't cut the yorkshire pudding with a knife couldn't even break it with my hands the veg was also rock hard and cold the meat? I've put the question mark there because it didn't look like meat it had a jelly like texture so wouldn't advise anyone to go there they did knock £6 off the bill wich originally was £50

Attended as a party of 10 for the festive feast menu. The main course of turkey with all the trimmings was the nicest dinner all of us have had at a restaurant. The meal was piping hot, and the roast potatoes were soft crispy and delicious. The chef Derek should be commended for producing such a lovely and consistent meal that everyone enjoyed so much. We were also brought out extra pots of large gravy boats. The Christmas pudding and custard is recommended as an excellent end to the meal. The atmosphere, food and service at the Sherwin arms is the perfect start to the Christmas celebrations.

Last night we had our a Christmas great meal at the Sherwin Arms Nottingham. We chose the venue because we had a great meal experience last year - and I was delighted that we had an equally good experience this year as well. The food was great, as was the service from Mckenzie, Hannah and Sherrie. One of our party arrived an hour late, however they managed to sort him out well 👍 with no hassle. The price was excellent.

As always food was spot on and Sherrie again was on hand giving great customer service.

Lovely little pub serves good food

One word: COLD. Cold food, cold dining area. Understaffed. One guy serving at the bar who was a doing a remarkable job. The chef needs to improve. I saw one customer returning their food, because it was cold. No lemon on the fish and had to ask for tartare sauce. Poor. The waiting staff were excellent though and friendly. Turn your heating up, get some more staff behind the bar and get the chef to serve warm food and this would be a successful place. Nice, decent people were eating there, nearly all were wearing a fleece or a coat. Not good. I wouldn't come here again.

I recently had the pleasure of dining at The Sherwin Arms, and I must say the experience was nothing short of exceptional, thanks to the wonderful staff—Frankie, Cherrie, and Manjit. From the moment I walked in, Frankie greeted me with a warm smile and an incredibly welcoming attitude. It was clear that Frankie genuinely cared about making every guest feel comfortable and valued. She was attentive and went above and beyond to ensure that everything was perfect. Cherrie was equally fantastic, taking care of our orders with such professionalism and warmth. She knew the menu inside out and gave excellent recommendations, making us feel well taken care of. Cherrie’s friendly and efficient service added a lovely personal touch to the evening. And then there was Manjit, who brought a calm and knowledgeable presence. He was attentive to details, checking in just enough without being intrusive, and was clearly passionate about creating a positive experience for all guests. Together, Frankie, Cherrie, and Manjit make an amazing team! Their kindness, attentiveness, and professionalism truly made the visit memorable. Frankie was great, there was 4 of us and we all couldn’t stop talking how great she was at looking after us. For someone so young she’s so experienced, you can tell she’s been trained very well and is a credit to the manager and the business. Will definitely be returning.

Decent pub. Greene King. I didn't eat on this occasion, but the menu offered the usual pub grub and a flaming grill menu. Prices seemed very reasonable. Bar staff were pleasant and welcoming.

Great atmosphere and they have great buy one, get one free specials during the week, Monday to Friday. I recommend the chicken strips and chips. Pool table if you want to play as well.

Came in yesterday with a friend, Manjit and Frankie were as excellent as ever and really enjoy conversations with Kevin the chef when he pops out front. Pub has a great mixture between a family vibe on the restaurant side and a lively drinking side on bar side. Would highly recommend.

Just been stood at the bar waiting to be served and not even acknowledged. Another guy walked in and straight away the barmam says hello. It's common knowledge in the area that the service behind the bar is awful but I was hoping it had improved. Edit. Just tried the Sherwin again. Different staff and this time they simply walked away when I was waiting to be served. No explanation.

What can but absolutely disgusting food . Ordered the gammon on skillset the onions underneath burnt to a sinner Black peas cold tomato was black burnt I asked the young girl to replace it she took the meal away then brought it back the same MEAL and said I’ll bring you a tomato out to you it came out 10 minutes after we had eaten the meal terrible service. we ordered chicken wings boneless for starters WRONG came bone in we asked for the starters to come with the mains WRONG came out 1st awful Service. My son ordered hunters chicken came on a skillet again onion underneath black charcoaled NO bbq sauce and No cheese disgusting I will never return I live local herd it had bad bad reports of food being bad but it’s terrible. By the the way remember the boneless chicken wings came out as be was leaving I asked the lady so this is the desert now then she just turned walked away couldn’t give a to hoops I just wonder it they ever look at these reviews GREEN KING sort it out

Had the beef rib roast, the meat was OK but the rest was poor. Had the pigs in blanket side which consisted of 3 little sausages with a tiny piece of bacon fur a princely sum of £3.49. So disappointed!!

Service terrible. Food instantly gave me and my children stomach aches. No point complaining they do not care at all.

Sat down with my family and had to wait 15 minutes to be served , once my food had arrived it was horrible the boneless chicken had little to no meat inside , staff didn’t ask me how my food was and also made a joke on how my food will be cold since it took a while to come which didn’t amuse me as the whole visit to the place was appalling!

The staff are really nice, and it’s v clean. Judging by the number of reserved tables, it’s very popular too. Food was alright and arrived quickly. We didn’t order anything fancy as we only needed light meals so tbh can’t really comment on the more elaborate end of the menu, but there’s plenty on there. It is extremely well priced though. Honestly… these are really good value meals

Used to be great but currently just seems to be massively under staffed. Today the queue for the bar was out the door with only one member of bar staff on, last time we ordered drinks and food on the app from our table and drinks took ~30 minutes to arrive after a reminder trip to the bar, and food was another half hour or so after that. Food is always great when it arrives. Sharing what used to be the challenges between two is always a cheap win.

I would like to compliment the girl SHERRIE you gave excellent service and very refreshing to see her cleaning front of house before her shift.

Good food had the partner had gammon skillet and I had chicken strips loaded with sweet chilli sauce , cooked perfectly and hot. Definitely recommend their food good offers too.

I have visited several times before without issue but today we had to wait a while for our food even though the pub was pretty empty. We had to ask for our table to be cleaned as it hadn’t need done from previous diners, Our sizzling skillets were not sizzling, our additional side orders were not brought out and we had to ask for them. Toast was toasted one side and no butter. No napkins on table or sufficient cutlery. Meat was grizzly. Menu choice is a lot less than what it used to be. Unfortunately I think it will be a while before my family returns.

Me and my homies came to the Sherwin as we always do and this time there was anew staff member working on a Friday evening, her name was cherry (sounded like that) she enticed us to play the charity box game and we won a free bowl of chips! Cmon! Saved 50p but spent £8 but was for charity! Cherry you are a valued member please be in more Friday evenings

I noticed that one staff member in particular was very proactive, clearing tables/ glasses and serving customers with a positive demeanour. I asked for the member of staffs name which was Sherrie, as she consistently asked customers if they are ok and whether they would like anything else. Excellent customer service and an asset to your pub!

I attended the local Friday night! was very lovely and the pints were golden. I was greeted by the gorgeous sherrie! She was such a helpful person. If she is here I’m coming again!

Came in this afternoon kev manjit and frankie were excellent, really appreciated how the chef comes out to check on food quality, overall the service was excellent, what a difference a year makes, will be making this my local again.

Awful! Can't cook a steak to request, part of the order missed. Portion size literally kids portions on adult meals.No check on by waitress. Won't go back!

Return visit today, my grandson and I really enjoyed our food he even gives you a 10 out of 10 😂 the Jamaican stew was so delicious thank you.

Ordered 2 meals on the app took over an hour to come,and when it did looked very poor and the same size as a kids meal,the young girls working there didn’t have a clue…won’t be going back.

Not been here for a long time but everything today was extremely pleasing. Bar staff, chef, waitress, the boss were all professional and welcomed everyone with smiles. Food excellent value and really enjoyable. Would recommend anyone who has been staying away to go back and enjoy your old pub. MB

Came in and waited 20 mins for two cokes because nobody was on the bar, our food took 1 n half hours too come out, and when it did come out the sever was clueless and didn’t even know what we ordered, the food looked like a kids portion, they couldn’t refund it either so we went Burger King

This is now our go-to place for our weekly meal. The food is excellent and it's comfortable and pleasant but where it really scores is with the staff who are so friendly and welcoming, always have a cheery greeting

I had a lunch meal here today with my grandson. Nice pub, great staff who were polite and efficient even the newbie girl staff member. Food was delicious and reasonably priced. Definitely recommend it and I'm not Arnie but I'll be back.

Got served by Frankie a couple days ago, was greeted with a warm smile and friendly presence. She was very helpful and patient with me when ordering my drinks which made me very comfortable.
