We visited years ago and food portions good. Twice in two weeks, Samon sizzler is a mouthful, salt and pepper chips are like ordinary chips. Burgers overdone and tasteless, hardly any sauce therefore a dry tasteless meal. When with family you don’t like to complain but your chef is obviously not checking taste or quality or were they not fresh???

Visited New Years Day as a post Xmas treat and food as always was excellent. Great portion sizes, hot food which is tasty and excellent customer service. Our bar tender Jake went above and beyond in sorting a meal for my youngest who is quite fussy and nothing was too much trouble for him. Waiting on staff were excellent and even offered a box for us to take him part of our food (as I say portion sizes excellent and I couldn’t eat all of my crispy chicken sandwich!!) all in all a fab visit.

A beautiful Christmas meal maybe a bit much on the plate but well presented on the plate. The staff were great even though you could tell they were flagging due to a busy day, with a smile and a joke they performed their service well. A credit to your pub.

We regularly use the Hussey arms as it's local to us. We booked in for our family christmas dinner. Unfortunately it wasn't good . The only thing that was good was the christmas pudding. Main meal was way too big , the turkey was very dry and the outside had way too much pepper and some of the roast potatoes and parsnips were raw. Peas were hard. It needed to be be less quantity and more quality. As none of us really ate much. So disappointed as the staff are lovely. And they worked really hard.

A BIG thank you to all the team at The Hussey for putting on an excellent Christmas meal. The staff worked tirelessly under stressful conditions to deliver a memorable Christmas day for their customers. It was perfect, thanks again and have a well earned rest!

Breakfast with Santa was brilliant! Staff were fun and engaged so well with the children. Lots of games and music where children really enjoyed it. Loads of fun and will book next year. Breakfast was great value and came to tables very quickly.

Its time for some renees a short walk down into the town centre from the pub as i didnt find the food cooked through, especially the bacon. They get the food out in double quick time but i dont think beating neighbouring mcdonalds for time targets is the right approach. ** 'Sad' isnt the right word. You normally get it right. I let you know here and i could hardly make a demand when i wasnt the one paying a bil . I still will come as i dont have to just eat in a tavern :)

If you want cheap you have cheap this is the worst food I've ever eaten out frozen chips chicken with just a sauce over it as classed as a New York style absolutely the worst meal out .

Lovely friendly staff always happy to help and accommodate, we have had many lovely family meals here and still each time we can’t wait to go back again, rach looked after our table tonight and was a lovely server, friendly and approachable. Serving times are always quick and efficient whilst having plenty of time to eat and chat highly recommended x

Stopped off at the Hussey for tea after a day of shopping. Plenty to choose from on the menu and the food was lovely and filling. Claire and Julie were very friendly. Overall a pleasant experience

The pub has a nice welcoming feel to it along with friendly staff. However the food was tasteless and inadequate in portion size for the starter and price point. All our meals were warm not hot even though they were sizzlers I would think that with how quick food was served it was all pre cooked and held then just plated on the sizzler, this would explain the lack of heat and flavour. This is a shame as the pub has a nice atmosphere, but with food like this it will a long while before we return.

Went for Sunday lunch, was told there was mash but they were running out, which was fine so expected the meal to be compensated elsewhere for example, more roast potatoes or pig in blankets ect but no! Meal came out as it stated on the menu but minus the mash, I get it's a cheapish meal with a drink included but blimey, that was the worst Sunday roast I have ever had, meat was very tough, parts of the meal was cold. It was like the veg was kept in warm water and then just scooped out onto the plate. The whole meal was just plastic, there is nothing home cooked about it....I would recommend anyone wanting a Sunday roast to just go to Tesco, buy a beef ready meal pop it the microwave for 5mins because that's exactly what it was and in turn will save you a few pounds

26/10/24 Only putting 1 star to everything cus how the situation was sorted by the so called manager!. Ordered the kids pizza for my son he was excited about it when it came the 1st time it was soggy and had no cheese on it so sent it back so it came a second time and you would think they would of tried abit harder but it came out a soggy mess took it to the so called manager and she was like I'll tell the shef and said want so nuggets instead. Then I said this is not good enough my son is now upset and she then said that's not my fault that's the chefs. Then another lady came and said she would change it again then it came again and was till the same not happy stupid place horrible people

Been here a few times for breakfast. Great value for money and freshly prepared. Nice relaxed atmosphere and lovely staff. Highly recommend.

We couldn’t fault our experience today. We wanted some good pub grub for us and our 2 kids. It cost £24 for 3 adult meals (1 shared for our kids). The pie was better than we’ve had at other pubs for double/triple the price. As I was sitting the kids, I knocked the one plate and dropped some food on the floor. A minute later, Jamie turned up with replacements without us evening noticing he noticed / asking! Fab service. Stacey and Angela were also lovely and helpful. We hadn’t been for years cause it had gone massively down hill but will definitely return again. If you want cheap and cheerful (but also delicious!) food, definitely worth a visit.

Went for a meal this evening, had steak ale pie with chips and peas. Very disappointed, contents of pie was all gravy with very little taste, just 2 small pieces of meat about size of a 5 pence piece. Spoke to one of the waitresses who said she will speak to yhe supplier. Would not recommend this meal.

Very disappointed with the Steak and Ale pie. 2 pieces of steak which were as small has a 20p piece. Very little taste of Ale.

Came in Sunday with the family for Sunday Dinner, was greeted by Nat who has the most lovely smile & very upbeat! She managed to get us in, was busy which was lovely to see! Was served at the bar quickly by Liberty, who was such a laugh & very talkative which we loved. Beef was so tender literally fell apart while cutting it, the Cauliflower Cheese was to die for! (decent portion I must say). Kids loved the Mac & Cheese very cheesy! Very impressed, we will be back again this Sunday x

Monday lunchtime with grandkids for lunch. Kids eat for a quid happy monday. service was excellent thank you Chyna, food was also excellent kids fishfingers andkids pasta, adults fish and chips and cheese burger. All food hot and tasty thank you

Ordered the quesadilla from the lunch menu. The quesadilla itself was tasty, but no gherkins in it as stated on the menu. It should have come with side salad and coleslaw. It came with a few lettuce leaves, and a blob of cheap mayonnaise with a few bits of red cabbage and carrots, which appeared to be out of bag of mixed salad. This was certainly not coleslaw. It tasted disgusting. My friend said her chips tasted awful. We ordered choc fudge cake and ice cream for dessert, however, the staff had clearly forgot to bring it out and we had to remind them we had ordered desserts. When they arrived, they had been microwave for a bit too long, were too hot, and the sponge was a bit chewy. Overall a very average meal.

Booked for a family meal they’re was a big party of 22 of us on arrival we were all waiting in a tiny reception area for a few minutes before we was seated to get to our table we had to squash pushchairs and wheelchairs through a crowded dining area resulting in other diners having to stand and push chairs in just so we could get through, we did specify on our booking there would be 2 wheelchairs and a pushchair, when ordering it was easy as half of our table used the app but when food was being served servers were all chaotic and confused, half of our table was waiting a extra 15 minutes for food and we even had to send some items back as it was just burnt to a crisp, desserts also took forever to come out we even asked for a update 3 times as it was taking so long just for some desserts we really won’t be returning anytime soon

Popped in here with my friends again since we found it to be so nice last time. We’re always greeted and treated so nicely. We had some lunch and a few drinks. It’s a lovely atmosphere and the staff are great. We had Claire serving us again and she was as polite and helpful as usual. It really makes a difference when the staff are great. We will definitely be visiting again.

Sunday menu now lunch and a free drink for a tenner. Make sure you ask for the free drink. If you order out of offer drinks, you don't get the free drinks.
