JRC Global Buffet - Wood Green in Haringey

It was 4°C outside and this restaurant in Wood Green had their air-conditioning switched on. The staff were asked on NUMEROUS occasions to turn off the air-conditioning but the staff refused to do so even though they said "they had switched it off"... It was so cold we didn't take our hats and coats off the whole time we were there. Definitely won't be going back there again. The whole experience was spoilt because we're were so cold inside the restaurant and caused our food to go cold too. Also, definitely not worth the £25 paid per person. They don't even deserve the one star given them. It was probably a ploy to get us out of the restaurant as quickly as possible by keeping the air conditioning on. Well, it's a disgusting way to treat your customers. Absolutely disgusting!!!!!

This evening, my family and I went out to enjoy ourselves before Christmas, but the manager on duty managed to ruin the atmosphere for us. The issue arose because we didn’t notice the “Wait to be seated” sign and entered the establishment. At that moment, the manager was not at the entrance, nor was anyone else to greet customers. He was outside the venue, laughing with other people. When he eventually came in, he was visibly irritated and rudely confronted us about why we didn’t wait. I explained to him that there was no one there to assist us, and I hadn’t seen the sign, especially since I was with my 1-year-old child. His tone was disrespectful and unnecessarily harsh. I no longer recommend this place. While everything used to be fine in the past, ever since the staff has changed, the atmosphere is no longer welcoming.

One of the worst experiences ever in a buffet. Went on a Wednesday for nephews birthday in a party of 20+ people. The atmosphere was drab for a start. The food was dry, not seasoned well and mainly cold. The selection was not good and it is generally overpriced. The fact that you can't have refillable drinks kills the experience even more and drains your pocket. As for service, I took my toddler towards the toilets only to be blocked by staff saying there were no toilets in use and redirected us outside. We got outside and the Mall toilets were closed. We then managed to get into the cinemas and use the toilets after much fuss. The ice cream was atrocious and my child nearly broke his milk teeth with the Jelly beans that were as hard as gobsmackers. For a buffet that was not very busy, it was a sin that the dessert section was more or less empty with no one filling it up or even bothered that it was empty. I have had better experiences at McDonald's and the chicken shop. I will stick to Cosmos. The difference is night and day...

A good food spot in Wood Green shopping centre with a good variety of popular Chinese and Indian dishes. The price ain’t cheap at £25 per head though.

Price is £26 all u can eat....2hr eating slot time...food ok...some dishes weren't hot just barely warm..like the Korma. Vast amount of dishes to choose from...2

All the staff were lovely. The ambience was nice and the venue clean. The food was waaaaaaay too salty, which really did spoil the experience. It also left me with bad side effects such as a racing heart right into the next day. There could be a little more variety there too. The actual quality of the food seems quite good but the salt levels just killed it for all my party and ended up being money badly spent unfortunately. The drinks I found to be quite reasonably priced and tap water with ice was readily available.

Good was mid, Some workers were rude!

The security guard at the door was on the phone with his mate and told us to wait, where there was no one inside, asked him why I have to wait he said because he is telling me to, so rude need to learn how to talk to paying customers as we, the customers paying his wages. Manager has no manner don't know how to talk to paying customers, told me that if the security is telling me to wait i have to wait. Asked them why I have to wait the manager turned around and walked inside. Never again

The waiters were efficient but the rules for entry were unfair and reeked of greed! A friends 2 year old daughter who had already been fed so was not going to be eating was being charged £12.50 for the pleasure of entering. Her 3 1/2 year old cousin of average height was expected to pay the full price of £25 because she was supposedly above the height for children! This was a disgraceful policy. The food was fair but pricey for the quality. How many plates can you eat anyway?.drinks were purchased separately. The pot of jasmine tea was lovely and together with the good company I dined with was the highlight of the evening I attended with a group of around 30 people from church...

Great environment, good price, but unfortunately, those who do bariatrics don't pay for it, they charge the normal price, unfortunately.

Went there last when it was a branch of Aroma. Food was just as good as back then. I don't know what the negative are really about. They really put me off, but it was absolutely fine. It wasn't overcrowded and the self service buffet gives the diner a chance to try out dishes they might have never tried before. You are permitted to go back as many times as you want, so long as you don't stack the plates full and high and waste food, not eating it. Little and often is the trick here.

The variety of food at this Wood Green JRC Global Buffet isn’t as extensive as at other locations. Many dishes were served lukewarm which detracted from the overall experience. While the flavors weren’t bad, they lacked the finesse of a restaurant-quality meal. A little more attention to seasoning and presentation would go a long way in improving the dining experience. The staff could benefit from a bit more professionalism and attentiveness.

The price is too much, not worth the price

This is called a global buffet and all that was on offer food from the Asia some of your dishes were below stand and like warm

It's a bit pricey, can't take your family there. There's no first free drink with your meal like the one in Ilford. Sometimes, not enough value food for the price you pay

Staff were not attentive. Food was cold and there was flys everywhere. Extremely off putting I will never go back!

The staff are so kind and very helpful, unfortunately the mac I can give is 5 stars. I would recommend coming here

Horrible horrible staff members!!!! Denied access to my assistant dog which is against the law and was extremely rude to me. I need my assistant dog as I am a disable person that depends on my assistant dog and they disregard and would not let me enter the restaurant just because they didn’t want “pets” in the store! My assistant dog is not a pet she is a medical aid that I very much need and like I stated before they are breaking the law! Would not recommend and definitely not disabled friendly.

Awful. So much of the food was luke warm, so had to tell staff to turn the heat up on the serving pots. Also, some of the cake was stale. Staff should check if the food is hot enough to be served. Will not be returning.

I've been going to JRC Global for over 5 years, and the increase in price isn't justified by the quality of food and service. Just my opinion! It been recently refurbished, which makes it look good.

I've been to others and there is more variety and a better quality of food. The dessert section is really poor. The owner needs to go to Ilford or Watford branches. Much better. Service was good, though. Staff quick to take away used items..

I went there for my son's Birthday. He had to show proof of his Birthday in order for him to get a free meal. Food was very tasty. Down side. The restaurant was too dark. Even though we went in the evening. £25pp for a Chinese buffet was for sure the modest expensive I had ever paid in London. China Town is under £20. The grilled seafood section gave out poor portions and it was disorganised. customers taking each other's food by mistake or just because they were tired of waiting so long.

Never again.. There was a big group of us celebrating my niece birthday. At entrance £25 per head even for a 3 years old is £12.50 was way too expensive for what food was there, rubbish. The assistant manager thinks he owns the restaurant, the meat was way over cooked and most things where dry as hell on the other counter.

The food wasn't as varied as expected but it tastes nice I came here to try sushi but it's more or less not much of a selection containing avocado prawn and basically that's it the sweet and sour chicken was amazing The price to selection dosent make worth 26 a person, kids and adults! Drinks are not included in the actual price and are separate In my opinion they should have a bottomless drink as they are way expensive The food is basic would not recommend

If you are a large family with kids, I would not recommend the kids' price is the same as an adult. The food tastes varied, sometimes it tastes ok and sometimes it's faulty. I you would like a drink, I would recommend bringing your own as God forbid you should chole you can't afford the prices for the drinks. The stake was quite thin and not well seasoned, according to my child. We found the desert counter the most pleasing. However, when it came to the fruits, the watermelon tasted off, and yes, we are Melon Lovers.

Prices only go up, the food is the same. In addition, you get tap water included in the price

Myself and my friend attended this restaurant this evening,we have been going there for years. However it's a waste of £50, the food was absolutely diabolical some of these dishes were cold, had to wait ages for the the dishes to be replenished. Spoke to Daniella on numerous occasions. Also they had pilau rice out and chicken tikka masala, it was stone cold. Complained to Daniella who took the rice and put it back in the oven. No wonder why I have food poisoning. Legal authorities have got involved for their diabolical food hygiene. The managers refused to take the complaint seriously. Avoid this place at all cost, as your more than likely to get really bad food poisoning.

I went to JRC Wood Green yesterday to find out that not only has the times changed they are no longer open for lunch they open at 16:30 and the prices have doubled! Whoever decided this was a good business move is regrettably very wrong. I can’t see people paying the new prices. This needs to be reviewed and reviewed quickly otherwise I can see this establishment closing down. Food is good but not at those prices!

It was good, really great selection of food.

Absolutely awful, if it was possible to give a star below 1 that would be the one. Every single bit of food was terrible. Nothing was fresh, the chef at the counter lazily walked out of the kitchen after we stood there waiting, with his hands in his pockets, asked what we wanted, the food looked like it was stored it slimey water, tasted old. The chicken was disgusting in every meal. I mean they even managed to ruin the taste in the most simple dishes on the basic meals "frozen" section. Everything was cold. Just terrible never again, would not recommend for anyone to waste money or time. (£52 for 2 people, without drinks)

i will never go there again, i was just blaming myself why i went there with my family to celebrate my Son's Birthday, The Food was Nah, when we got there they received my Son's cake as if they will bring it with candle on, they asked to take it ourselves that we can't light candle...Even the price was too much for 12 years old to charging £26 as well

Dry overcooked chicken, noodles dreadful 😫 i though ok at least I'll eat some frozen food... mistake ! It's all overcooked and soaked in oil... so bad. Then there is an outside kitchen scallops and lamb and octopus. Nothing there is fresh dirty all around the kitchen slimey sea food dry red brouwn chicken omg.. and best of all 52£ for 2 ppl, no drinks.

Worth! Good place to celebrate 🥳 birthdays, get to gather. Spacious, Large banquet to hold team and family celebration. Much Better options for food compared to all including Chinese one in central London, china town and other in Shepard bush. I will definitely recommend the GRC buffet for a good dining experience and the spread of sea food, continental, Indian, meditarian and Italian. All under one roof and the best part is the food is very fresh and quality. Good for it!

The food selection was great. I was happy with my choices.

I’m so disappointed in this place we came here with my 2 year old daughter and friends they made us pay half price for her and even the fries were so cold and dry she hardly managed to eat any. They don’t have any kids cutleries not even a spoon. Their taps are not working in the women’s toilet I mean none of them would turn on!!!! The desert section was dry and didn’t taste fresh at all. And I could go on an on… one thing for sure we won’t be coming back here again.

Shame they are closing their lunchtime deals. They will lose money. Vote with your pockets people and boycott until they reverse that decision!

Everything overcooked , chewy or hard. The make to order section over cooks & chops with everything tasting of curry. The breaded section was filled with hard over cooked produce. . Individual dishes were all overcooked, hard chicken, extremely chewy beef , overcooked lamb. Satay sauce inedible, chicken satay you could use as a door knocker . Fruits with no taste. Sloppy ice cream, dry , stale cake .

Worst JRC in London… food was very low quality. Very disappointing as we were also expecting more variety of dishes. Please just avoid to come because for the price, you can have a better dinner anywhere else

31/7/2024-Wednesday. Since the weather is so hit. My husband and I decided to have a relaxing buffet at this JCR restaurant. We have been to this restaurant over the past. The atmosphere of the restaurant is cold for this hot weather, quiet & relaxing which we, both has enjoyed. Their food were the same. Generous, huge varieties of choices from starter, appetiter to the dessert. Massive selection for dessert, too. The services were excellent. As soon as there are empty plates on the table. The servers quickly clear the used empty plates away. The prices of the buffet were reasonable, too. Highly recommended ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

Lovely place and food on point.

Food quality has spoilt over the last two years. Previous management was better *alan and his team* I felt very sick and had to refuse in the loo. There was hair inside the ice cream and i must also say the food was very dry and not in the same standards this buffet previously was! Owell will definitely not be attending this place ever again! Avoid at all costs! Also they charged a 2 year old entry! Which was very sad to see! Go to wembley or basildon old owners are there. Thanks

Visited the wood Green branch with my wife on Monday 22nd July arriving at 1.30 pm. We were totally disappointed how the quality of food had deteriorated despite the lunch time prices being up by 50%. We usually get prawns , salad and fruit. Prawns didn't exist( arrived 5 minutes later). Salad was just cucumber and no fruit at all. Spoke with the duty manger who said the price of vegetables have gone up despite current prices being the same as precovid pandemic level. As for other dishes they were mostly chicken ( tried one piece couldn't eat it as it was tough). One good item was the presence of olives We will not return.

First time i came in this olace as I Live close by was absolutely awful,I already throw up nothing seasoned no taste at all not even the soup ! The waitresses keep taking the sauces from my table as well every time i get up I had to take soya sauce three times ! The steak it was so tasteless,everything almos with curry sauce (not everyone likes it) The only thing i ate was the prawns i try a bit of everything and i Left it on the plate it was awful very unhealthy for adults and especially the children's . We spend as a couple 68£ for nothing definitely not coming back and definitely someone should check the quality of this restaurant all the foods and the hygiene,even the plates where dirty and covered with water please someone check this place was the most unhealthy all you can eat in my entire life nothing had seasoning no salt no peper no taste at all and very cheap steaks and thin as well the escallopes where tasteless and nothing absolutely nothing tasty. Most of the foods was chicken and please dont try the cheese mussels the mussels loose taste in cheese

Went here once before, I think it's alright, I'd go again, nothing too special, it is what it is.......

Very poor customer service. I ordered normal sprite only to receive zero sugar sprite which i only noticed when a sat down at our table. I went back and spoke to the bar attended and the cashier and also the manager who stated they will not refund or exchange as I ordered it. I then stated that the sprite I saw on The shelve is not what I received he stated that once it’s open there’s nothing he can do. I then stated that the bar attendee open the drink not me and I only notice afterwards. Long story short poor customer service skills is lacking in woodgreen branch. considering I have been coming here since 2009 /2010 and the customer service has gone down the drain. needless to say I’m going to stop coming here and cook at my home

It's ok for a single visit. We went there a second time and it wasn't "impressive" as first time there. Tons of sugar in some foods.

I have a severe seafood especially shrimp allergy and I was barely able to eat anything this father's day celebration with my family. I asked the manager and the staff about allergy menu and if the food was fried separately as there could be cross contamination and even though the manager said that things were fried separately the staff gave another answer and said that I would eat it at my own risk. There was shrimps everywhere around the buffet and most things were fried so I stayed away from eating fried things,which left a small selection of foods I could eat as even the meat/chicken that were done on the grill for each person separately still were done on the same grill as seafood. I ended up eating a small portion of teriyaki pasta with vegetables and after that I only ate ice cream and profiteroles as I was sure at least that I would be able to eat without having the possibility of an anaphylactic shock. £25 wasted as I was barely able to eat anything of the buffet and only ate ice cream and ended up having to go to a subway to eat something after.

Food is absolutely disgusting. It was freezing. Someone was overcooked that's been there for probably a week. Be prepared to go to the dentist I wouldn't feed this food to my dog

The service is terrible, there is little variety of food

Food is very basic, a lot of “iceland” type of food. Came for lunch with kids just to find out that majority of the food is not served during lunch. The most disappointing was thet they DO NOT SERVE DESERTS during lunch time. I have never seen a buffet style restaurant without the deserts, which is what the kids are usually looking forwards to. The toilets had very sticky floor and could be cleaner for a place where food is served. I think coca-cola was the tastiest of the entire meal.

I celebrated my birthday there, as a last minute, but because I had not booked 24hours before, I had to pay as well. The food was cold, it wasn't tasty, and it was clearly not fresh at all. My child could not really find anything to eat, even though she is not a picky eater. No drinks included (tap water only).

It was awful, everything is spicy and it has a very bad quality. I don't understand what it promises. The price is very high for the food they offer. Fatty, bad and tasteless. Don't lose your money here!!!

I recently visited JRC Global Buffet and was extremely disappointed with the food. The quality was very, very bad. Many dishes lacked flavor and seemed poorly prepared. Some items were overcooked, while others tasted like they had been sitting out for too long. The overall experience was quite unpleasant, and I wouldn't recommend this place to anyone looking for a decent meal.

There is a wide range of foods, desserts, drinks and they even include fruit. Everything here tastes unique and fresh, and there are many sauces to pair with the food. I tried the sushi here and I loved it. The desserts are great too. Staff are friendly and hardworking, quick to take away plates. Place is spacious too, and wait wasn't long. A nice and cozy atmosphere.

Food was average, also went on lunch time and there was no deserts, when I asked if there was going to be desert they told me it was only on dinner time which I find ridiculous. The only good thing about this place is the music choices and the staff is lovely.

Staff was lovely. Everyone was friendly. Some dishes were delicious some awful. So it was a mix bag. However there is a lot to choose from. My favourite was selection of seafood, tofu and veg. Boys liked the beef, noodles and eaton mess. We thought that 23£ was fair for what we had.

Nice place but food I find taste strange

Food was of very poor quality and taste. Options are quite many but not really tasty and we don't feel like going for a second serve. The dessert are also poor quality and taste. Overall a disappointing experience.

Used to be a really good place before but last few years the service and food has gone down. The chiefs especially at the grills over cook food and can't tell difference type of meat. It's a shame but always comes down to management.

We were at their dinner buffet on a Monday night and had a great experience. At £23 per head it's good value. It's not a Vegas-style buffet (mainly South East Asian, Chinese and Indian) but then it was not priced like a Vegas buffet either (usually $80+ before tax and tips). We were pleasantly surprised by the range of food and the quality of food as well. The grill was fantastic: love the cook-in-front-of-you steak, very tasty and marinated just right. At the grill they also have scallops, octopus, lamb chops, etc. so just ask whatever you want (two items max. per visit to the grill, but you could go back as many times as you wish). The chef did not overcook the food, which was great. The red curry beef was tasty and tender also, and the garlic French beans and stir-fry broccoli was done just right (crispy). The vegetables were particularly a surprise as most places of similar price tag would just boil them making them uneatable / soggy. The Tom Yum soup was authentic with plenty of seafood. Watermelon was sweet and juicy, and we enjoyed the vanilla ice cream as well. All delightful. All hot dishes was hot and freshly cooked and refilled quickly, and I didn't sense any of the food was re-heated. Some dishes should be avoided though: the "sushi" - pudding rice was used instead of sushi rice, the corn soup - way too sweet, the aromatic duck - the meat was shredded to almost powder-like so I wasn't sure what I was eating :). The place was clean, the toilets were clean, the staff were professional and efficient, and cleared plates and cleaned floors of accident spills by customers promptly. It was a Monday night and by around 7pm it's 70-80% full, so it seems to be a popular place with the locals. Would have given 5 stars but had to take one down: whilst the plates were cleaned, they still have water droplets on them, meaning they were washed and cleaned, but not dried properly. This could be an area of improvement. Overall, an enjoyable dinner, good value and would recommend. Worth knowing: at the time of our visit, their child pricing policy (stated at the entrance) was: the child must be under 12 AND under a certain height. So both conditions must be met to get the child discount. So be prepared to pay the adult price if your child is blessed in height.

Nice restuarant, but when they are 30 minutes to closing the staff always "ensure" to show that they are closing making you feel uncomfortable and get out of the restuarant.

love this place and the amazing food lots tp choose from be aware if you have tall young children.. they do not have child price.. it goes by height of the child for the price.. unfortunately my daughter is very tall from young so adult prices for us food is well worth it though!

Lunch is good price. Food is good. Mainly chinese, indian and english. No sushi or italian. Only ice cream for dessert. We asked for an alternative such a piece of fruit since we have someone who couldn’t have dairy which they refused.

I found hair in my food and now they aren’t willing to give me a refund???? The food, dead cold. It’s as if it’s coming out of the freezer. I promise you don’t go. This place has turned into something disgusting. They will be hearing from my lawyer

Staff was really rude, I went with a large group for a family function and one of the guests were racially profiled in the middle of the restaurant. a lot of the fried foods were dry and chewy, prawns were not properly cleaned and still contained the fecal sack. They had the cheek to charge £12.50 for a paper container for your own left overs and the nerve to say what you can and can't have in the container. I went to the bar to order a drink for my 5 year old and was 'almost' charged '£12.50' for a £2.00 fruit shoot. If I Wasn't paying attention I'm sure they wouldn't have said anything. Will not go there again, much nicer restaurants in wood green....like aroma this will soon fade into the distance.

Super rude 'manager' Shabeer. Came here with the family for mine and mum's birthday. We tried to call them to book the day before but they were not picking up, tried again early morning on the day and we were told we don't need a booking because it's not that busy. We all came here that day with our IDs to take advantage of the free entry for birthdays to which the manager said because we didn't book we couldn't have the 2 entries for free. We tried to explain but his stinky attitude was so dismissive we walked out to go to another restaurant. Unfortunately for us the child with us had her heart set on the buffet so we went back in and just paid for all of us, even though 2 of us should have been free. My mum told him that he shouldn't be rude on someone's birthday and he ended up letting one of us have free entry rather than both. Clearly he could have done this from the start or even allowed both but he would clearly rather dampen the mood first.

Worst food I’ve ever eaten. I would compare it to Iceland ready made frozen food- even that is probably better. Food was old and stale. Everything was extremely sweet and salty. Hygiene is horrible and the toilets were so disgusting. I’m actually shocked at how people eat here and how this place is even running. I ate a ‘scallop’ that actually tasted of gasoline it was so weird. I wouldn’t even pay 5 pounds for this place let alone 24 pounds.

It's ok to visit there with your family but and is a big but because for the management to ask children under 12 years old of age to pay for a full adult rate just because they are taller than their age, leaves a big question mark ❓️ on their services they provide.

The price for what you pay is perfect in my eyes I wouldn't miss out on it I have been more than once and will definitely go again
