Highly recommended visiting this place if you’re a fan of delicious food and the paranormal! We had a lovely lunch here - high quality home cooked food. Thoroughly enjoyed our time there and appreciated the uniqueness of their paranormal artefacts!

Absolutely outstanding food and service. We booked our annual girls' family meal at a place we always go to but, unfortunately, this year they decided to only serve burger and chips. This was no good for our Christmas get together. We instead booked a meal for 8 people at the Kings Head. We let them know in advance that one of our party was Celiac and would require a gluten-free option. All meals were booked in advance with the deposit paid. On the day, despite being busy, the service was so good it felt like we were the only ones there. Staff with quick with drinks and with food and the portions were absolutely unbelievable. I couldn't recommend it highly enough and we will be back. (In fact I would love to stay overnight in a haunted room!)

Was made very welcome when we called in for a late night drink. Great atmosphere, great history, feels cosy. I can't comment about the rooms because we didn't stay, although I would love to. A lovely place, will definitely be back.

I used Babu. It looked like a hotel with ghosts, so I watched a video of the haunted house experience while drinking beer. The staff were also very nice!

We booked for a meal, and the food was pretty decent - but unfortunately the pub has gone all out as a "we are haunted" place and the menu is a really silly set of puns on that theme. Hard to take it seriously. Service quite slow too. The only "ghostly feelings" were when people came in and out via the main doors, at which point there was a frighteningly cold blast of wind throughout...

A nice spacious traditional pub. The selection of real ales were not much than but not too expensive. It wasn’t much busy but felt relaxed. Like to sit out and enjoy the street view. The bar staff were welcoming & friendly and atmosphere was very calm and cool.

It is a historic building with a classic atmosphere, but there are rumors that it is haunted by ghosts and there are tours available. It looks like you can stay the night. The bar staff was very friendly and the bar was nice.

What a lovely, historic pub that’s as period looking on the inside as it is on the outside. The Kings Head is an incredibly busy pub, that has a good selection of craft beers and main line beers on offer. The lovely young woman that served us was incredibly friendly and stopped to chat with us a few times, even though she was very busy. Food was dropped off to tables adjacent to us and looked great, so we’ll be ordering a meal on our next visit. There are a collection of haunted items around the pub, with signs explaining their story.

Brilliant atmosphere very friendly staff who went that extra mile to help. Food tasted amazing rump steak chips, and the massive burger meal. We were seated near the old fireplace where the creepy box was rested in fireplace.Never read reviews beforehand so did not realise the pub was one of the most haunted and yes it is. What I would like to say your pub Inn is very active as I felt temperatures change to where we were seated. No draft from fireplace. A male ghost/spirit who was very active in the far right corner turning one of the wooden hearts that hung from ceiling clockwise and anticlockwise I was watching alot of activity there. Next time I am in Chester I will visit again. So if you want a nice meal in a very old Inn this is the place to visit.

Spent an amazing night here on an Investigation, and wow it was such an amazing night. 1) we got to Pub for around. 5pm and was greeted by the staff who where friendly and directed to the function room where we could place our bags. We was met by Brett in the function room and spent some time out of his busy schedule getting ready for the Halloween party the next day to talk to us. 2) The food.... all I can say is go there and try it, amazing food, and such a cozy atmosphere in the bar. 3) the event itself was incredible 😲 if you have any reserves about going, just do it you won't be disappointed. Over I have what was properly other best time I have had in long time.

I just love this place. One of the oldest pubs in England…you just have to stop in. If you fancy some food I can highly recommend the pies. The steak pie is amazing, with a proper lard crusty pastry. Simply unctuous, and make sure you order mash and gravy with it. The pate was good, but more like a terrine, but still tasty. Come on in for a bit of history, and great pint and pie!!!

Obviously I came here because of the reputation of being Britain's most haunted building and I certainly felt like it was but I am thoroughly surprised by how nice the pub is, their menu is small but it's all delicious pub grub, I personally recommend the cherry and berry old mout cider, brilliant stuff, first time drinking it there!

We went in the downstairs bar and did not stay at the end. Cará was behind the bar, and she suggested that we try the beef pie with chips. Absolutely delicious and great service!

A haunting experience! The bar staff were great, it was very dark, there was a classic portrait of Henry VIII on the wall by our table.

A great pub to eat in. A warm welcoming fire in winter and good food at a reasonable price. We go here when we have family and friends with us, and we’ve all said how enjoyable the whole experience is.

Our favourite place to come for brunch after football. The team, as always, went above and beyond with the orders for our family (all with different dietary requirements). The boys had the classic big breakfast with local products at a great price. I tried the weekend special eggs Benedict and it was amazing. The boys filled their boots. The girls enjoyed new things. The doorstop toast alone is worth the visit. Sadly, no room for my favourite one the menu - parsnip cake, but the cake-away option meant I could enjoy it later. We brought a friend for their first visit and she was blown away.

Great B&B. Fab price and location was great, only a short walk from the station and about 15 minutes walk into the city centre. Room was clean & had everything we needed, breakfast in the morning was really nice too. Bar downstairs was very lively! Definitely recommend if you are staying in Chester.
