Its a nice idea, however it is not an appropriate enviornment for the cats. They were visibly overwhelmed and there should be more regulations regarding young children interacting with them.

as someone with a child… this place probably shouldn’t allow children. it’s a completely different story if you specifically tell your kids not to chase, grab, pull the cats. when i visited days ago, children were running after the cats and the staff did nothing about it. personally- i think everything is overpriced and the staff just did not want to be there. the cats look terrified. they only come over to see if you have food, they won’t let you pet them, and they hide. as a cat owner, that behavior is normal if the cat is shy, but every single cat in that place acted the same. that’s not normal.

This was one of the saddest experiences I have had in my life. The cats seemed incredibly stressed out by the environment of kids and adults alike constantly grabbing at them and getting in their faces. It was a lot! I have been to a fair few cat cafes within England and abroad and I have never seen such a horrific site. The cats did not have a space they could go to for safety if they did not wish to be bothered, the cats were only available for adoption if they were incredibly depressed (which in my opinion was far more of them compared to what cats were available for adoption) and the staff did nothing to help support these poor cats. Every cat I saw was just scared and stressed the entire time we were there. Considering that normally these centres are used to encourage adoption I was incredibly disheartened to know that these cats are kept for the company to continue to gain from their terror. I think stronger regulations should be put in place here, I have never been to such a loud and overwhelming space in my life. Every cat cafe I have been to before is quiet and calm and provides a comfortable space for the cats both adult and children alike but this was crazy! From kids screaming to both adult and children constantly bothering the cats that did not wish for attention, we even witnessed a group of kids with some adults corner a couple of kittens and at that point we just left. I said my piece to the adults and left the building it was awful. On top of all of this, the service was not great (which I would understand if they were trying to get on top of the cat welfare situation but they clearly were not) and the food was over expensive and frankly did not taste nice in the slightest. If I could leave a lower star review I would! This place is not fit for purpose and if anything goes against the cats welfare.

HERES A PROBLEM. This is a cafe, it sells food, the chairs and tables are not designed to be at the correct height to eat the food, making it difficult to enjoy a meal and awkward to eat. If you drop food by accident (or your young child does), staff accuse you of feeding the cats. If I go here again I won't order any food for fear of being wrongly accused of feeding the cats. Maybe they should stop selling food all together.....

The workers are lovely and doing their best. The issue here is the parents and their children. The first 20 mins I was here, I saw kids grabbing, pulling, chasing and scaring cats. I saw a child dump about 10 toys on a sleeping cat, and i saw one child grab and shake a tunnel while a cat was in it, infront of his parents who did nothing. Most the cats are lovely when they are on their own and trying to come see you. But then there will be 20 children trying to climb your chair while you are in it. The food seems lovely, but this place was overwhelmed by running children, screaming and generally, watching cats seem uncomfortable. The staff were doing their best. And god BLESS them 🙏 for having to deal with this. I probably won't come back. Just because of how overwhelming and sad the experience ended up being.

My daughter’s 8th birthday and she wanted to go kitty cafe, so 4 adults and 2 children cost £42 on entrance which is very pricey in my opinion and that is only for an hour. We ordered food which was very expensive for what it was, we wanted x2 tea for 2 and one kids tea for 2 but their was no difference in price, they were limited on options and didn’t have cheese and ham but made out their was no cheese but after confusing us all food we finally was made aware food is pre-made so only have what’s left so cheese on its own isn’t an option, the lady got flustered ask another girl to serve us instead which was quite rude, we only asking basic questions trying to understand the menu. They said do we want it toasted and we said yes but they didn’t come toasted after all the drama, that was £75 for just food and a drink each. After just finishing eating we get told we only have 10mins and have to leave I get an hour slot but literally they want you in and out as quick as possible. Over £100 for some basic food and quick fuss of cats not really worth it to be honest, and to top it off my 3 year old got told off about 4 times for getting a little over exited so maybe strap them in a pram so they can’t move at all.

I'm just going to be honest and list the reasons why I don't recommend this place to Families. -£28 for 2 adults, a toddler and a baby to sit in a café - £10 for 2 X sub standard coffees - The food is awful - The Cats hide up high and look like they want to kill themselves -The Staff are patronising and arrogant - You're asked to prepare to leave after 45mins. Bare in mind it takes a while to be checked in, seated and to order your food and drinks. I hope the only positive from this awful experience is that the cats are treated well, but I can't see that they're nothing more than exploited animals. 1/10

This is my second time at this cat cafe and we won't be coming back. Maybe it's because they allow a ridiculous amount of people in on a Saturday but the experience left us stressed and feeling sorry for the cats. £8 entry fee for their welfare yet kids were running round chasing them and no one said anything? Please enforce a no children rule. With the price of entry there shouldn't be a need to fill the cafe to the brim with kids to keep it running. We barely saw any cats, they all hid up high and I can't blame them. None of them came to be stroked or could sit quietly because the cafe was absolutely packed. Please allow for those with respect to sit quietly and order more food and drink rather than kicking people out after an hour to just get more money. Don't charge for the welfare of the cats if you're willing to let them be traumatised just to get more entry fees.

If you support cat welfare do not visit this awful place. I went when it first opened and it's incredibly depressing. I will never ever go back. The cats have a miserable existence - they are poked, prodded and chased by patrons all day in the cafe and then locked in tiny individual boxes overnight. This cafe has a dreadful reputation for both cat welfare and treatment of their staff. The sooner it is shut down the better.

The Cat Cafe was a strange experience, robotic service with a time slot that is strictly adhered. A strange smell that greets you which does confirm 30 odd cats are in the property. One of our servers was nice but the food was pretty bland and nothing special. The main reason for the bad review though is the vibe. Kids are unmonitored chasing the cats around and people will follow cats right beside your table, the whole thing was just a bit strange. The cats were lovely and the best part of the experience but it seems questionable how fair the whole experience is for them, with children unmonitored chasing them around and the cages they are kept in when the cafe is closed.

Used to visit the cafe regularly when visiting friends in Nottingham, but stopped going as cats are visibly depressed and the food hygiene is terrible. You can see from other reviewers the horrible conditions they are kept in when not out on public show. No wonder they are stressed and often sick, with several in the past dying of which they are always vague about circumstances. Do your own research before going especially on Reddit or indeed under ‘Polyverse Ltd ‘ which is their umbrella company encasing all locations. Several employees have come out with allegations of horrid and abusive working conditions. They employ specifically young vulnerable people who know no better and can be paid pittance while being poorly trained. The place being a ‘rescue’ is a scam and a marketing tool. Cats are only put up for adoption (off loaded) if they become troublesome or are not popular with patrons. This is why the ‘breed’ cats are never up for adoption, they are brought into the business and are not rescues. Pedigree and ‘rarer’ cats are good for attracting business. (Much like a petting zoo) You may think you are doing a good thing and supporting vulnerable cats, but instead you are enabling a cycle of abuse for both cats and employees. Consider spending your money elsewhere or donating to legit charities.

The facilities for them are amazing with a plethora of shelves walkways and play areas. We loved the spiral staircase and castle tower. The food for us humans was dreamy delicious as always - we especially loved the smores brookie. The staff were friendly and polite and the merch pawesome!! We bought a hoodie :) (First visit 2020) Absolutely brilliant! Went for birthday treat, it was amazing! Even better in reality than lovely photos in google. Friendly relaxed atmosphere, adorable cats from the regal blue to curious moggy, stroking actually encouraged just not picking up. You did have to watch for cats going for food but they easily get message with hand to block the way. Very comfy seats, loved the abundance of sofas. Also lots of cat artwork which we really enjoyed taking in too. Food equally first rate, good helpings, quality (not just thrown together) and good value too for what we got. Favourite was the chocolatey cake. To top it off lots of lovely souvenirs too. Only request is for 100% cotton clothing as daughter can't wear polyester, otherwise would have bought a hoody. Would thoroughily recommend to any cat lover wanting a great time out.

I visited with my partner this week, the food and drink were good. However there was just a weird vibe, the cats seemed very scared and untrusting. It became clear the reason why they were being this way, when we literally watched children throw toys at and chase the poor cats whilst staff and parents did nothing to intervene. I strongly believe there should be age limits or more rules around children in environments like this. It was a shame as I was really excited to visit. Turned out to be a very expensive disappointment… £16 for ‘welfare cost’ when it could be questioned how well the poor cats are being looked after if they’re allowing kids to lob plastic toys at them??

Visited and only stayed for half the 1hr slot. It seemed to be full of kids who just followed round any cat they could sticking phones, toys whatever they could in the cats faces, following and chasing them round. Neither parents or staff bothered by this (staff just stayed gathered in the reception area) most of the cats had clearly had enough of it and were avoiding human contact at all cost. Smell from the cat litter tray was also apparent. Went to visit the kitty cafe in Nottingham there was 3 children and 3 adults, now the children have autism, asd, adhd. When we arrived we was greeted by staff who informed me that there is a charge £6 for children £8 for adult's as a little treat I thought why not we can get coffees and watch the cats play as we was visiting Nottingham for the weekend and I'm a huge cat lover. Now considering the children where wearing there disability badges, I paid the fee and we was shown to a table, now the children at this point where getting a bit over excited as children with adhd find it hard to process and get over over excited in situations. We felt that we needed to leave as we did not want to over stimulate them with all the excitement. We was no more then 5 minutes after a look around, then we left. When I enquired about getting a refund I was told that I needed to call the admin team. So I emailed them the receipts and pictures of the badges on the 6.10.24,got a response on the 10.10.24 asking how long was we in the cafe, did we get to order food and drinks no we did not. I then get an email to say they will not be refunding me the £42.00...now I read the t and cs on kitty cafe website and there is no mention if children with disabilities go for three, rather then pay £6 per child, incase they are to overwhelmed etc and have to leave. That's the annoying part the t and cs says make sure children are supervised but no mention of children with ASD/ADHD AUTISM can be over stimulating or over excited And no we did not use the facilities or get to order food or drinks.

There seems to have been an incident at the cafe at the beginning of September that has traumatised the cats. We've been to a few cat cafes and this was by far the worst. The cats were either hiding the entire time or completely uninterested in any interaction and walked away as soon as they came near. Some approached when the food arrived but none of them were happy to be interacted with, it was really sad. The staff need to monitor how children are behaving or offer children only time slots so they know when to be extra vigilant. The food was awful. If we hadn't been in a rush and also prepaid for our food then I would have let them know I would only be paying for our drinks. Really terrible quality.

- Order/food was fine, nothing majorly spectacular but servicable. - Overwhelming smell of cat pee upon entry - arguably goes hand in hand with the venue; but Birmingham location does not share this trait. - Majority of cats felt jaded and not a good fit for the kind of environment where continuous interaction is a given - putting welfare first, they really aren't a good fit; again, cannot say the same for the Birmingham location. - Staff; whilst servicable if anything did not seem concerned on multiple instances where the cat's welfare was compromised, both by roudy patrons, but also those outside banging on the windows - not a great look - certainly a way forward here would be to one-way windows - the cats really should be used as advertisements for the venue in a sense. Overall, not a great experience in comparison to other previously locations - probably wouldn't come back.

Me and my partner went. We've never gone before and it was our first time here as we're on holiday. It all started okay, we read the rules, paid the wellness check and got sat-down. Then we ordered food and after we had eaten decided to go for a look around and say hello to all the cats, whilst leaving our things in our chair so we didn't have to worry about the cats trying to get into the bag. We came back about 5 ish minutes later, noticed our full drinks were gone which we kind of just shrugged off, put our coats on and was thinking where to go next. Then we had a staff member come up to us asking us who took us to our table. I couldn't remember if it was the blonde or brown haired lady, but I politely said I think maybe the blonde lady but I'm not 100% sure and then I said oh no it was the brown haired lady and pointed to her. And then she said in a not so nice tone, did you pay for the wellness check and I said yes, the girl with black hair saw us do it as she's the one who checked us in. She then subsequently asked for the booking name which I told her, andcwalked off without saying thank you and gave a very snobby response and went 'mhm'. I was happy to show her the email proving it but before I could she walked away. Then I noticed they were looking on the screen and went OH, when they saw our booking. They didn't even come over to apologise. This ruined me and my partners experience and unfortunately means we won't be coming back. It is very unfortunate that I have to write this review but unfortunately this is what happened and I hope others don't experience this in the future. It made us feel very unwelcome and treated as if we had snuck in. And we went there, the cats seem very distressed with young children running around and hitting them with toys. And the cats seemed scared because there was too many people and they could not go somewhere quiet as they were too many people and children. Overall the staff were rude and the cats seemed terrified. I do not recommend.

Took my children who had a really lovely time. Lots of cats just doing their thing though there were some adults and children who didn't respect our space at all as they were trying to get to the cats! Cafe itself is clean, bright and welcoming. I appreciate this is a rescue centre but the welfare fee is very expensive (£28 for 2 adults and 2 children) and the food is extortionate and of very poor quality, especially for the price.

We were celebrating my mothers 92nd birthday. Due to an accident on the motorway we were 30 mins late. On arrival we were immediately informed that we still had to pay full price but would only be able to have cold food and cold drinks. What a cold welcome. I will not be visiting kitty cafe again.

Never been before, £8 each to get in, then drinks and food so quite expensive, took 15 minutes for someone to take our order and another 15 to come out. After 45 minutes told 15 minutes left. Cats were cute but not really sociable or wanting to play and interact so not sure would return

If you love cats, it's a fantastic way to spend an hour. Lots of cats to see. Great they have lots of places they can hide away if they want to. Staff and food were lovely. You can tell they look after and care about the cats.

for legal reasons i cant state what is wrong with this place, please look for former employee statements because i just did and im disgusted and never returning again. i CAN say however that the cats were constantly being pestered and chased around by kids and nothing was done about it, even in their little safe spot. additionally, the food is just scran from iceland but dressed up fancy and with a hefty price tag.

My partner and I visited on the 3rd September. We have been once before and it was a really good experience. The cats are so loved and the staff are very sweet. However, on this occasion, the cafe was over run with children. These children were not managed. Three kids at a time were chasing the cats down. They were being hit with blocks, having 3 sticks thrown in their faces and were being harassed in every possible way. It is a credit to the cats that they stayed as calm as they did. Most cats would have bitten or scratched - they just ran away or regressed into themselves. The cats are rescued and surely have trauma. They deserve a lot better. We have contacted management because we are concerned.

The happiest place in Nottingham, lovely staff and cute, delightful kitties. The cats are very well looked after and each has their own quirky personality. We even got to play with kittens on our 2nd visit here. (I've been three times) the food is quite good value too as you can order a meal deal which is any main, any hot or cold drink and a slice of cake. Which is super delicious 😋 if you love kitties or any animal then please check out the kitty cafe.

Expensive for what it was. We was expecting the food to be basic but it really wasn't great, the best thing we had was a cup of tea. Very busy and loud, we felt the cats were stressed out being chased around by younger children, not a relaxed atmosphere for them, we barely saw any cats and the ones we did see were skittish. Quite disappointed with our visit.

We came here for a surprise lunch for our son, absolutely AMAZING. I couldn't believe how clean it is to say they have 26 cats and 3 kitten's. The food was lovely. It's a little bit pricey but well worth the money, and the money goes towards the cats, and they are very well cared for, and you can see they are living their best lives. Would highly recommend it if you love cats as we do. Can't wait to come back soon.

This is such a lovely cat cafe! Very reasonable entry price and 100% worth it to see so many lovely friendly kitties! The staff are lovely and I really enjoyed my drink too (the cat-asrophe mocktail). It is a really clean and stimulating environment for the cats too with lots of toys and areas for them to have some privacy too. I would definitely recommend this to any cat lovers :)

I've dropped this place to 3 stars. It would've been 5 but they have massively limited the poker to only 1 table and I couldn't get on it the entire time we was there I'd have opted for cash but with no limits it's a dangerous game for the infrequent visitor. The drinks were all spot on, the staff were friendly but as I only really play poker I think I'd visit a different casino in future but never say never :) I did dabble abit on the blackjack.

We had called by a few times previously for a drink and a bite of lunch when it was the Atlas, so we called by again for lunch. The immediate greeting was that there was a 20 minute wait for food (no hello), we went to order at the counter, but were told that the orders were now taken at the table, whilst the waitress came to our table in good time, the wait for the drinks was tedious, so tedious we considered leaving. The place was freezing, the front door was open all the time, everyone was sitting with coats and scarfs, it was like sitting in the garage with the freezer door left open. We saw so many people waiting for food, someone returning their food to the counter, that we decided just to wait for the hot drink (we were going to order food). We saw the tea bag (for one of our drinks) dropped on the floor and then put back on the saucer and served to us (we asked if we could swap it for a tea bag that hadn't been on the floor) - the waitress apologised, but come on this is basic hygiene surely staff should know not to do this? All in all, very, very average and not at all as we remembered when it was Atlas
