I ordered the carvery from this restaurant a several times and always good and tasty, will order again next time.

Cakes where missing from the order, the main reason we ordered was for the cake.

Well cooked meal but they advertise real ales. Utterly dreadful no real ales just a massive poster. My wife given a pale yellow syrup and called it Shiraz. But they did exchange it. Brilliant meal but come on pull your socks up and give the public a proper drink please

The whole time I was here I felt very welcomed by staff a special shout-out to Kayleigh our waitress and kaat the bartender who serviced us were both extremely friendly. The food was delicious really recommended

Excellent carvery and great service from staff. Food portions are excellent ( plenty of meat) and a variety of vegetables to choose from. The puddings were amazing. Ended up taking half home with us as we're too good to leave. Venue was spotless. Toilets were very clean

Excellent carvery was had here today. Lots of meat given and veg was nicely cooked. Onion gravy was nice and normal gravy aswell. Puddings were amazing. Size was huge and had to take half home with me.

We had prebooked a table and arrived at The Riverside at 7.50pm only to find out that they were ceasing to serve main meals at 8pm. The website said they served until 10pm. However, we were informed that they were short staffed. Our guests were coming from London and hadn't arrived but were en route. I explained this to Jo, the manager, who suggested we find out what they wanted and they would delay closing the kitchen. Thanks Jo, for being so accommodating! We all managed to get a delicious carvery. And the cake was huge and delicious! Thanks again, Jo.

A good meal for a fair price. The meat and vegetables were cooked nicely and the staff were friendly. We were seated quickly and the place was reasonably clean.

All food, carvery and main menu, is normally exceptionally good. Service is efficient and staff pleasant and helpful. I had a small grievance over menu availability on Boxing Day but this was solved, to my surprise, exceptionally quickly and I was extremely happy with the apology.

We went there for a meal at 7pm on Saturday which was advertised as open till 11pm. on there website. We were then to be told that we are closed! Our evening plans were ruined as it was then to late to rearrange. Not a very good customer relations is it !! We'll think again before visiting.

Been here twice now and the food was great first time was a carvery second time was food off the menu. The first time the staff were lovely and couldn’t be more helpful the second time we went I had the feeling that they didn’t want to be there and couldn’t be bothered. I could also over hear the one server talking about my partner to other staff which is highly un professional. The pub its self is good with a lovely atmosphere and it was dressed up lovely for Christmas too. I just think the staff should be a little more careful with their attitude and how loud they are talking around customers.

Pre-boooked table not ready and one member of staff could only say that it wasn't on the computer. Other staff much more helpful.

The driver rang us to say he couldn’t find us. But he was in the wrong street. So by the time he hot to us the food was cold.

After eating here for many years we were astonished when we went on 23rd November at 5 pm we were told if we had not booked we could not eat as they were doing Christmas parties. There was hardly anyone in and very few tables had reserved on. So we have not been in since. We used to go every other week with my sister and brother in law .

went in asked for a table the lady was rude and blunt telling us bookings only, checked the website so many times available. utterly rude.

Visited for cake and a drink. The restaurant was very busy and there were no tables available. I asked if we could sit at the bar which there were 2 tables available to use. Through our time there, there were lots of bookable tables not actually being used! We had cake and a drink, but the cake was dry and not that enjoyable.

I always enjoy a good carvery, and never disappointed here, however, on this occasion, I felt the carvery wasn't quite upto their usual standard which is all I'm going say because it was very busy, so I sort of get the reason why.

The food was freezing and was small portions for the price compared to past orders we’ve had there before. Delivery was fast from store so don’t get why it was all so cold.

Had brekkie for the first time great choice off food tea / coffee was a little disappointing, but will deffo come again. Waiteres was lovely xx

Great service, great veg at carvery with huge Yorkshire pud. I would have liked a 3rd slice of meat - I ordered standard so got just the 2 - and the sundae was a bit too sickly. Crumbles were very big and Great value for money

Just turned up for dinner before booking in to travelodge next door. Bit disappointing as only guide dogs are allowed. We booked in to travelodge next door because of the pub next door as every Green King pub we've been to allows dogs with a well behaved human. Dinner and breakfast will have to be somewhere else 😢

Great customer service, fantastic food, staff very friendly made you feel welcome. Jo is very helpful, GM Paul always checking your ok great with Kids, Kaat AM is fantastic always makes sure you're ok, very polite team. Can't ask for more.

Our recent experience at The Riverside Farmhouse Carvery was beyond infuriating. Arriving at 7:30 pm, well within their advertised hours, we were informed that they’d run out of carvery – the very dish they brand themselves around. This isn’t just disappointing; it’s a complete failure in planning and customer service. A so-called “carvery” restaurant running out of its main attraction an hour & half before closing is beyond incompetent. They couldn’t even be bothered to ensure the primary meal they’re known for would be available? When we expressed our disappointment, we were met with indifference – no apology, no compensation, not a shred of accountability. It felt like we were inconveniencing them by expecting the meal we’d come for. But the lack of care didn’t stop there. When we tried to salvage our evening by ordering dessert, we were told they were not serving “Menu” desserts only Take Away– and still well before closing! Clearly, they were trying to quietly close early, with little regard for the customers they’d left hanging. And as if that weren’t bad enough, it became obvious what their true priority was: Christmas decorations. The dining area was closed off, cluttered with boxes of decorations, as though preparing the restaurant for the festive period took precedence over actually serving the people who came to dine. With a road closure outside, it’s clear they’d pulled both the carvery and dessert offerings to shut down early and focus on decorating. The utter lack of professionalism and disregard for paying customers was appalling. This isn’t just a disappointment – it’s a warning. If you’re thinking of going to The Riverside Farmhouse Carvery, don’t waste your time. A restaurant that cares more about hanging tinsel than serving its core menu, that shows zero regard for its patrons, and that quietly pulls service to close up early has no business pretending to care about customers. Avoid this place at all costs.

A carvery pub with no meat available at 7.45pm on a Tuesday night. Carvery then switched off so no scope for vegetables either. Steak ordered but came with seemingly tinned mushrooms. Bbq burger swamped with bbq sauce and topped with an overcooked egg. Then, no menu desserts or sundaes available even though food is meant be served until 9am. The staff didn't seem remotely bothered or interested. Absolute shambles!

This is our favourite place for dinner and to have amazing birthday experience. Jack was incredibly accommodating and got our birthday cake out to us beautifully:)

Weekend it is necessary to book, you are asked what area you want to sit in when booking as there is a family area, which can get rather noisy. Carvery is always good, other meals on menus may take longer so best to wait awhile before queuing for carvery if others are having food from the menu so you can eat together. Large selection of puddings and the cakes are large portions. Take away service for carvery looks good value for money.

Peaked our interest when driving past, was a great selection of food including the popular carvery. We did get a cake away as well and that was fantastic Service was lovely and they accommodated us having a table for an hour before a big booking.

Reasonable value for Nottingham, hotel rather dated. No USB charging sockets and no electrical sockets by bedside tables. Ample hot water for shower or bath. Basic tea and coffee, very limited amount in room but always available at reception. One very good plus point is the free parking which can be very expensive in the city.

Free child's meal wasn't available as advertised. Carvery was much nicer today at 12 than it was in the evening . Not enough staff to clear tables in a timely manner

Place a lot better than a month ago the man who runs it on a Sunday morning he is none stop working making sure everything runs ok and now they do Yorkshire puddings what a bonus and the bacon is spot on none of that fatty bacon enjoyed it just need a bit of gravy for the Yorkshire puds

The gluten-free burger was not the best. The bun was horrible, dry, and think cardboard like bun. They said I could off had a carvery but when at the till they was very unsure what I could eat. The rest of the family carvery was OK, my other half said he wouldn't have paid the weekend price for what he got though as the it's wasn't best. But £9 mid week rlpricewas about the right.

The carvery is excellent and exceptionally good value. The restaurant is very dated and drab. Tables left uncleared for far too long. The whole place would benefit from a deep clean.

Staff standing not doing much and don't welcome you. As for the buffet breakfast they have taken jam and marmalade away so nothing to put on toast.

THE Carvery. beef was like rubber green beans was like over done burnt both types of roast potatoes rock hard parsnips swimming in oil cauliflower cheese was really hard mash was ok stuffing was like cement hardly any gravy or sauces one of the kitchen staff just kept looking and walking off 4 ppl at bar 1 serving REALLY BAD FOOD THOUGHT ID TRY 1 LAST TIME BUT NOT CHANGED AT ALL

Fair prices. Good food. Friendly staff. Nice atmosphere. Update 12th Oct. The staff were fantastic. Tried the Tex Mex chilli and it was super. The Caulfower wings starter is superb, if there's two of you try that and the excellent garlic mushrooms as a sharing starter. Mmmmmm

Called in for breakfast, very disappointed, cheap, plenty etc but everything was overcooked, sausages had thick hard to cut skin, bacon well and truly overcooked, black pudding overcooked, good job I was hungry, chef needs to pay attention to detail, also not everyone likes these new fancy coffee, tastes like bonfire toffee

They sent me wrong order of food! Including pork that I didn’t order! I ordered 3 beef meat! I contacted them but they ignored my calls! Will contact FSC.

Paid £15 to get a carvery. Literally a tablespoon of mash, tablespoon of stuffing and the rest was green beans. Theyve changed the boxes and your not getting your moneys worth anymore. Still starving!

It's always a joy coming to the Riverside Farm restaurant. My friends and I had a lovely meal on 09/09/24. The staff was really friendly and helpful (especially our waiter Jack). The ambiance always feels warm and welcoming, the food was lovely, the portions generous and the prices are very good value for money! The delicious cakes for desert are served in a box so they can be taken home afterwards which is also very nice. Looking forward to coming again soon!

Arrived about 9.30 for breakfast they had no fried eggs, they had scrambled but usually have fried eggs but run out, they had run out white bread, coffee in thermos container's but was tepid. On the plus side the other food was nice and people were nice but I would not have expected the lack of fried eggs and white bread especially at that time.

Called here with my wife for a end of week treat we ordered the chicken tikka each when it arrived we were disappointed the nan breads were rock hard and the curry was like dish water I tried to eat it to not make a fuss but my wife couldn’t and to be fair we should have sent it straight back we called over the waiter and told him our concerns and he apologised and said he would inform the manager he then returned and asked if we would like something else we said no and would prefer a refund he then said he would fetch the manager then returned for a second time and said the manager would refund our money back to the app we haven’t as yet received any refund it’s a shame as we have usually had some nice meals at the Riverside but I’m afraid we won’t be returning in the future if this is how you are treated with a manager that can’t even be bothered to speak to his/her customers.

Fine if you eat meat or are a vegetarian but do not go if you’re a vegan. Almost all of the vegetables are cooked in butter and it’s in the mash and the stuffing. Asked for some vegan options and they basically just gave some basic boiled vegetables and potatoes which was nice of them to do but it was obviously very meh. No plant milk options either. Nothing wrong with any of the serving or anything they were nice, but just don’t go if you’re a vegan.

Foods today was amazing been a few times before always nice but today it was full of flavor and looked like a lot of thought had gone into it. Mentioned to the manager and she said that's because Jay cooked today. He needs to train the others because it was a million times better than it normally is

I was cueing for 25 minutes to get my carvery when I reach the carvery station there was not much to choose from the roast potatoes were rock hard no stuffing and there was only carrots for vegetables.. still had to pay full price even though half the food was not on show and when I complained my reply was.. its been one of those days

The lady taking food orders at the till was very rude to everyone she served. They weren’t even that busy last Sunday. Food was good though. She let her colleagues down.

We was served by Amie she was lovely and very help full we did have to wait but the food was nice would recommend and we will be coming back
