The food and drink were lovely and the atmosphere is very calming. Amazing place to eat! Sam provided perfect service, always making sure my table was okay and had everything we needed (she’s also a great conversationalist so we had many laughs). Overall I had an amazing time!! Highly recommend

Our 1st and last visit to this place. Walked in and asked for a table for 2. No explanation given on how to place an order and just asked by staff to take the corner table. Waited nearly 10 mins and no staff approached us to take our order. Reached out to a staff member asking for a menu. The guy could hardly communicate and just pointed his finger at the corner of the table showing a QR scan code. So scanned the code and saw a menu. Had a brief look and was unsure on how to place an order? Saw just walked out and went to Chai company, opposite Kunafa. The service was much better at Chai company hence am their customer for life! Overall Kunafa has a very dull and poor customer service 👎

Lovely little place, cosy and great food

Heard so many good things about a few new items on the menu, notably the burger, but did not realise that the size of it was going to be kiddies. If you are charging £10 for a burger please make sure it is an adult-size burger. On a plus it was tasty. Also noticed portion sizes here have gotten considerably smaller but prices have increased. Frequented here a week or so ago, thought we would give them a 2nd chance. Mistake. Service was poor, food was bang average, and for what you pay not worth the price, cash only also. Will not be back here again.

My Review in November 2023 (Good Food but Congested and Expensive - 4 stars) Good, tasty authentic Middle-Eastern food, cooked by a Syrian family. However, space is tight - we were all sitting cheek-by-jowl with other customers literally 3 feet from us, one of who was coughing away. Price high, quite out-of-proportion with the food served. No parking, just on-street on a very busy road next to a traffic signal. January 2025 Update (3 stars) We visited again last night and found that while there has been a refurbishment (externally and internally – they have updated their seating and have increased their seating capacity too – the overall impression is that it seems to be going downhill. This is because of the following: PROS • Unlike previously, now more reasonably priced as compared to similar places nearby (for instance, Meza Restaurant on Legrams Lane and CZN Burak Gurme on Great Horton Lane). It appears that Kunafa are now feeling the pinch of competition. • Recent refurbishment outside (new paint, lights, etc.) and configuration inside (better seating, more capacity) gives it a much better appearance. • Staff friendly • Service reasonably quick • Menu choices expanded and are reasonably authentic • Portion sizes have shrunk (we tried their Kunafa and Hot Mezze Platter (for sharing) CONS • Remains on an extremely busy traffic light • No parking other than a small, tight street next to it which is already full of cars, none of them belonging to the place’s patrons • No disabled access – especially germane to me • The eponymous dessert after which the restaurant is named – Kunafa – is not genuine anymore (we tried the original in Mini size); it wasn’t hot, did not have the crispy cover made of vermicelli thin pasta, did not have the syrup on it, had a very miserly few grains of crushed pistachio on it. The size seems to have been reduced too. Immeasurably better Kunafa is available within a few yards of the place. Really disappointing. • Of most valid concern is the fact that it is now a cash only place. This is a very unfortunate trend increasingly seen in many Bradford eateries recently. The reason invariably given by these establishments is “card machine out of order”. This situation then lasts for months and years. The reason behind this seems to be self-evident, in my opinion. Here too, the same reason was given – but how does one balance that wit h the fact that they have a small cash machine installed indoors. In other words, they are not planning to go back to optional card payments again. Further irony – the cash machine was out of money!!! They did say we could do a bank transfer, but no one really wants to fuss with that. This is a self-destructive policy for such places, because no one should go to a fun experience – in this case eating out – with wads of cash on them. I do not think we shall be taking our custom there again.

Great food with great service recommend to everyone

I just ordered the mix grill for delivery , and hand on heart I can say it’s one of the best lamb cubes I’ve ever had in my life. The lamb was tender and so juicy, and grilled to perfection each bite was full of flavor. The entire order was cooked to perfection, with the right balance of spices and a deliciously smoky char. Everything about this meal was spot on, from the sides to the presentation. Highly recommend it for anyone craving a top notch grilled experience thank you :)

We ordered the delivery shawarma from the door of the restaurant. It was the worst experience. The shawarma was cold and had a rancid smell. By God, half of it was as bad as we had it. It is not recommended at all.

Great food as always, lots of vegetarian options. For a big group, the service was quick - would definitely recommend

I was really looking forward to eating here but I was a little disappointed. I got the hummus and shawarma. The hummus lacked flavour and the shawarma wrap was quite empty, the chicken kept falling out with each bite and I was left with an empty wrap.

We ordered on Uber eats and the portion size was atrocious. Paid good money for a full meal but this is ridiculous portion. Not enough to feed a child! Never mind an adult We called the restaurant straight away and they said this was their normal portion! Absolute rip off. The food is good but a shame they are giving such small portions!!

First time visit to Kunafa tea house and we were not disappointed. Had a starter and main and both were delicious not to mention the mint tea. Staff are lovely and couldn't do enough for us. Atmosphere very relaxing and good background music. We will definitely come back on our next trip to Bradford. Thankyou for a lovely evening😊

Food is pentiful and flavoursome. Staff are helpful but can be a bit quick to clear away if you're a small group and they are busy. This is understandable but I found I was rushed when digesting my food. Atmosphere is nice and felt welcomed.

Came for the first time tonight and really loved it! Food was delicious, so tasty and flavoursome! The lemon mint drink was also so refreshing and I loved it, lovely zingy slushyness! Highly recommend!

Lovely place to go to and we recently asked them to cater for an event at home and the service was excellent.

Great experience - high quality and freshly made to order. Tried the fried Kebbe as a starter which was nice, had a real authentic meat mince flavour, not many spices but just overall, a meaty flavour. As the main we got the levant mix grill which for £36.50, I felt was overpriced but given the location of where it is in thought, i can understand why they had to price it that way. Everything on the plate was delicious apart from the lamb chops which lacked flavour and was overcooked (literally a reason why I didnt give 5 stars for the review as I was looking forward to a flavoursome, juicy lamb chop). The lamb tikka was brilliant, some of the best Ive had. You can choose 2 sides along with this main. We chose fries and bread. This meal, id say would be good for ONE hungry person looking to try a bit of everything or a good starter for 2. The desserts were great especially the dubai chocolate special (not sure if thats what its called) which was a bed of that pistachio filling with ice cream on top and a side of rich chocolate sauce to pour over as you like. Kunafa was good but the baklava was mediocre, nothing special. Washed down with some arabic tea with mint on the side which was so refreshing (if you like “turkish tea” that are available in other places then this is the tea to get from here). The staff here are lovely and very attentive. Look very smart, friendly and easy to approach, especially the waitress. Parking - you’ll have to look for parking beside the place or behind which isnt much of a walk anyway. Bare in mind the place isnt huge so for the amount of parking available, its decent. Cost £64.50

Tasty food!! Would love to visit again!

It's one thing to serve food, but another to provide genuine service. I went in just to buy their kunafa chocolate bar, and they went above and beyond, kindly explaining not only what it entailed but also sharing their personal thoughts on it. Their friendliness made the experience feel warm and welcoming, unlike most places where staff seem uninterested. If you're after great food and thoughtful service, this is the spot to visit.

One of the best Syrian/turkish food we had in UK. Very authentic, tasty. Service was top class. We liked it so much that we went there the next day. Would love to recommend this place to anyone who would like to try Syrian/Turkish food. Best Kunafa in the UK!!

Found this gem of a cafe accidentally. But exactly what I was looking for, a relaxed atmosphere day cafe, with turkish deserts and hot drinks. Beautiful ambiance. We ordered kumafe, buklawa and a pot of Arabic tea. Now, kumafe wasn’t same as what I got in Taksim square but come one, I am sat in Bradford city centre, enjoying best of Turkish and Arabic deserts. Keeping that in mind, everything was perfect. Good food, good atmosphere and service with smile, what more can you ask for. Highly recommended.

I have visited KTR three times before writing this review. This small little restaurant has great ambiance and serves one of the best Syrian cuisine and Kunafa I the town. I would certainly rate the latter a 10/10. After having tried both cheese and cream kunafa I would recommend cream one. Even the leftover Kunafa tastes fine the next day: Mixed grill was really good, tasted authentic and fresh. My only issue with the restaurant is the staff and the service. They can be rude (yes rude!) if you are intending to visit during last hour of closing time. They will not entertain late/last minute visitors. I have experienced this two out of three times. Be aware.

Food awful, waste of money. i checked its reviews and planned to go with family. we ordered 4 main dishes and Kunafa of course. to be honest i will not recommend anyone as they are making their own recipes no taste. we ordered Chicken Mandi, Creamy Chicken with mushrooms, Burger and Chicken Tauq. Chicken Mandi was rice with 2 fried LEGS only no flavour at all. Creamy Mushroom Chicken was again fried chicekn rashes in sauce with hardly 2-3 mushrooms in. Burger was ok, Chicken Tauq was acceptable too. we ordered CRISPY KUNAFA which after double of time still not cooked properly not sweet enough. i spent £64 for this food which doesn’t even worth £25. i will not go again and not recommend anyone fairly waste of time and money.

Drinks are 10/10. Desserts are always delicious. Very kind staff. Very good service. Atmosphere is calm and quiet which I like 👍🏼 I highly recommend the lemon and mint drink, very refreshing drink 😊

We went there for lunch we were the only ones in the restaurant. The chicken was ok. Although they did not have a few thing on the menu. The ribs were full of fat. It was not cooked properly. The service was slow, and the waiter kept disappearing in the back. So you had to wait for him to come back if you had any extra. Also not a lot of parking options available

I am the founder of this place and I had to sold it a year ago to my business partner due to relocation abroad. Honestly speaking I thought the business might be disturbed but the last week experience was really amazing. This place has a big potential and inshallah soon it will be booming 💥

The service was extremely slow tonight , despite the food being fab ! Maybe our order was forgotten as it felt like all the other tables were being served first , even ones that came after us. Bit of shame , had to leave early with a crying baby as we were there for nearly an hour and barely got to eat.

I’ve been coming here regularly since they opened and while I have no complaints about the quality of the food, every time I come they’re always sold out of stuff - especially tea and desserts. This has been a recurring issue with them for years and nothing changes. It’s really frustrating when you travel from out of town only to be told they don’t have what you came for. If you know something is popular, you should make sure you have enough supply to last until closing time. Don’t think I’ll be coming back until they resolve this issue.

I came with my sisters this evening and the food, tea and dessert were absolutely lovely! The atmosphere and restaurant were beautiful and the staff were really lovely and humble. Really fast service and very understanding people😊 They even went out of their way to help us with an area to pray with full coverage which was really nice allahuma barik🌸🤍 May Allah put plenty of barakah into your business and reward you❤️

We’ve been meaning to try this place for ages but only just got round to it. It looks quiet and a bit out of the way but lots of parking on the streets surrounding. We ordered 3 levant mixed grills for 6 people. The portion sizes were perfect. The meats were cooked to perfection and nicely seasoned. The sauces complemented the food really well. They had a huge selection of desserts which I can’t wait to try next time. Lovely little place for families. The decor is light, bright and fresh. I will certainly be returning.

Some of the most interesting and delicious food I have had in a long time. A real find.

We had a lovely meal there with 3 courses and drinks it was very good value. Stayed for over 3 hrs no pressure to leave, pleasant staff 😄We all agreed the food is authentic and planning a breakfast trip next time, this is served till 2pm 👍🏾

We are in Bradford for our annual visit to the Literature Festival and found ourselves here for brunch. We had the Turkish breakfast with foul medames. Everything was totally delicious, and so generous. From the main dish to the tahini with date syrup, cheese rolls, the lime and mint drink and the amazing muhammara, we loved every spoon and fork full. Perfect service, light and airy room with lovely Arabic music in the background. We'll definitely be back.

First time coming here, had the mixed grill with rice which I shared with a friend and got two medium sized Kunafa for desert. The Kunafa took some time to come after our meal but was freshly prepared, so was worth the wait. We were served by Stephen and Ayesha who were polite and assisting. We both couldn't finish our Kunafa so decided to take it home. My friend said the Kanafa was better than the one from Mr Kunafa in Manchester. Wouldn't mind coming back here again for something different.

The mostly very young staff are inexperienced and do not understand the needs of dining families. They also don’t know how to manage place when it gets a little busy. Been here about 6 times I’ve the last year. Same every time.

This review is now amended. I went for kunafa and tea and it was just as expected. Kunafa was with syrup this time, unlike the last time I visited. It was so good, the tea was lovely.

Kunafa tea used to be one of the best Syrian restaurants around however recently the quality has gone down significantly. There isn’t as much care to the quality of food and when we ordered kibbeh it was greasy as well as their wrap. Really disappointed as it felt like one of the more authentic food when it opened and I hope they go back to their standard.

Gorgeous food. Kind and relaxed atmosphere. I’m no expert on Damascene food, but it’s quickly become a fave restaurant of mine. It’s always a treat to go eat there! The creamy baklava and the Haressa are insanely good.

I recently visited Kunafa Tea Restaurant with my sister for a quick bite, as we were pressed for time due to another appointment. We ordered Aubergine Mosakkaa, Shawerma Fatteh (chicken shawarma served over crispy fried flatbread with a creamy yogurt sauce, pickled cucumbers, pomegranate seeds, and parsley), Lamb Fakhara (lamb pieces with sliced aubergine and peppers in a rich tomato sauce, cooked and served in a clay pot), and Turkish tea. The ambiance was delightful, but the food quality was inconsistent. The chicken dish was enjoyable, but the lamb dish lacked flavor, and the meat had an off-putting smell. The aubergine dish was served cold, contrary to our expectations for a hot dish. While the restaurant initially forgot our tea, the staff graciously removed the charge from our bill and provided it as a takeaway. Overall, the experience was pleasant, though a bit expensive. We would have liked to try the desserts, but unfortunately, we were short on time.

Knafa Tea was the perfect destination after our meal. We went for the creamy knafa, this was beautifully balanced with sweetness and richness, accompanied by the aromatic Moroccan and Arabic teas, made for an exquisite ending to a meal. The charming decor elevated the experience, making it an ideal spot for those craving Middle Eastern desserts and authentic teas after a satisfying meal out in Bradford.

We called here on a whim and found it to be unbelievably good. There was green drink that everyone else had on their tables by the jug.. we had a glass each and it was so delicious and refreshing. Some mint and lime drink. It’s worth going back just for that but the food was all fantastic.

Nice little place for Arabic style food, decent portions and not too busy for a weekend, parking not the best and need to find own spot in the back street. Service is quick and efficient, quite like the arabic tea.

I recently made a purchase totaling £85, and unfortunately, I was quite dissatisfied with the quality of the meat and chicken. The mutton chops had excessive fat and an unpleasant odor, the chicken wings were undersized with damaged bones and pink insides, and the kebab was as tough as leather boots. Considering the substantial price paid, it was disappointing to receive what seemed like third-grade meat. I strongly suggest considering a change in meat supplier and prioritizing quality assurance to ensure customer satisfaction. Quality should never be compromised for profit margins.

I have been there today for the first time and the experience did definitely worth it. Believe me I have been to multiple restaurants in Wakefield, Bradford and Leeds areas and I for sure find the food here amazing. If you like to taste the arabic taste/food , then you have to try going there. I have been with my friend but will definitely repeat it again with my wife and kids. I loved the chicken shawarma and chicken mandy. The rice that came with the mandy was very tasty. Keba, cheese rolls and mutabala was yummy. We ended our meal with a pot of arabic tea. Even the tea was another level. Ma shaa Allah, please keep the level of food the same all the time and I will keep coming again and again.

Visited Kunafa during Ramadan. Friendly and welcoming staff. They had a special small buffet during Ramadan, everything was amazing.

Great food, great service and great atmosphere

I've been here a few times in the past and always been satisfied with everything. Unfortunately, in this my most recent visit I have noticed a stark difference in portion sizes. The mix grill I usually order is plenty to satiate my appetite, however this is now not the case. I thought it was a joke when the £19 dish was put in front of me. I realise there is starvation in the world, but I paid good money not to starve. The dish didn't even touch the sides. Very very very disappointed. On the contrary the service, quality of food and atmosphere is fantastic. I hope you can fix this and return the portion sizes to what they were before. You have lost a once loyal customer if the miserly attitude continues.

There must have been a misunderstanding when booking my table for iftar, but Bela & the team went out of their way to accommodate us during such a busy dining period. Thanks again for the wonderful service جزاك الله خيرًا

Middle East Food in the UK gained popularity and it’s big favourite to my family and friends. Essential to any cooking in the Arab world is the concept of hospitality and generosity which we have found here in Kunafa. Meals are generally large family affairs, with much sharing and a great deal of warmth over the dinner table. Followed by desserts kunafa and Arabic tea. Glad to have enjoyed tonight with marvellous iftaar and best service provision by Bela and good discussion with Hamza. Highly recommended and must try place.

For a dessert that is usually celebrated for its delightful texture and sweet, cheesy richness, this experience was a complete letdown. The kunafa lacked the expected flavor and finesse, making it a poor representation of the traditional dessert. Coupled with the exorbitant price, this visit was highly unsatisfactory. Unfortunately, it turned out to be the worst kunafa I have ever tasted in the UK.

We went for dessert and I had a perfect end to the night. Great tasting kunafa and the perfect complementing Arabic tea to boot just makes it feel so cosy. The lighting and service just adds to this to wrap it up nicely to give you that feeling you get when you are watching those relaxing videos on YouTube with rain and cosy fireplaces.
