La Chilenita in Newcastle upon Tyne

I don't know how this concession dare use the Yo Sushi name. The rice is often undercooked. Today was the last chance I gave it. I spent over £20 today and the rice on everything is rock hard. The salmon nigiri uses the tiniest slivers of salmon you've ever seen, an absolute disgrace at almost £7 for 6 pieces. They deliberately move the sushi going out of date today to the front so less suspecting shoppers will pick out raw salmon that isn't even fresh! (standard Yo Sushi restaurants have time stamps on any raw food to be used within a certain few HOURS of when it's prepared, yet I saw food on this stand packaged with a use by date of three days from today!!). There's never any staff around, and the prices are extortionate.

Tried the new cocktail and food offering was absolutely lush.

Place not very busy but was told 15mins wait for one coffee as they “had a few orders”. I never got as far as ordering a cake!!!! Half the seats empty and turning away customers. I’ve been there before for food and drinks - but not going back again with that attitude.

Very quiet (Sunday), good music, quick service Booking in advance saved us £15 on tapas

I can’t say enough about this place, staff are all so welcoming & friendly. In particular Ben, Elle & Caitlin also go above & beyond. I’ve been coming here most nights over the last 12 month. I like to sketch and I found a lovely place to sit & so that l, I’ve also made some good friendships with the locals. The food is excellent & the atmosphere is always so upbeat. If you haven’t been to visit i strongly recommend that you do 🥂
