Family 👪 Christmas 🤶 dinner 2024 3 course meal was delicious 😋 very well presented on every dish staff were great definitely would return well worth paying 70ty quid only 1 sprout on plate but it didn't matter it was just enough to make room for other 2 courses

Either racist or badly managed cus me and my british boyfriend went there last sunday (I'm brown) the place definitely did have some seats (visibly) but we were told it's fully booked. Mind you, it's raining heavily and the staff simply told us to go away because they were apparently booked. I could see 4 tables vacant right infront of me, just didn't want to serve us. Duly noted, won't visit again or recommend anyone.

We shared a number of different starters, all were so tasty.

Aunque yo y mi esposa Susan hemos disfrutado de una copa en La Roma en algunas ocasiones nunca hemos comido allí, pero decidimos hacerlo el fin de semana pasado. Reservamos una mesa en caso de que el restaurante estaba lleno y nos alegramos de que lo hicimos, ya que estaba muy ocupado. Nos mostraron a nuestra mesa y nos dieron un menú , había un montón de comidas que nos apetecía, pero Susan eligió la lubina mientras que yo tenía una comida de pollo que venía en una salsa de tomate y vino tinto que pedí cambiar por pimienta de maíz que estaban encantados de hacer. Nos dijeron que las comidas serían de unos quince minutos, lo que estaba bien y llegaron a tiempo. Sólo hay una palabra para describirlos , excelentes , probablemente las mejores comidas que hemos tenido en cualquier lugar en mucho tiempo. El único leve negativo y no es una crítica pero no estábamos seguros de quién estaba recibiendo las órdenes ya que solo podíamos ver a una persona yendo de mesa en mesa , tal vez una persona extra haciendo lo mismo ayudaría . Sin duda volveremos al restaurante en el futuro y estaremos encantados de recomendarlo a cualquiera que esté pensando en ir allí.

I went with my family a group of 6. food was hot and delicious.and the service was excellent. With highly recommend.

We were greeted at the entrance by a very happy gentleman who warmly welcomed us. We were then guided to our table and the conversation with the servers was extremely friendly. The food was excellent. We shall return on our next visit in December.

Came for coffee on the day of the village fête. They were quite busy but the ladies at the bar were so lovely, polite and clearly working very hard. The atmosphere outside felt like we were on holiday!

Had our wedding buffet here yesterday which was absolutely beautiful, we had an amazing afternoon and Roseanna and her staff were so hard working and friendly!!,Thank you so much for making our special day perfect Lynn & Bev xx

Lovely place and really enjoy going! Great atmosphere and wonderful staff. the only reason I dropped one star off the food was that there are no obvious vegan options. I know I can go elsewhere but I do want to say how amazing this place is and how fantastic the atmosphere, location and people are! Definitely worth a visit and I will continue to support them.

Last minute decision to go here for food, highly recommended, hadn't booked but staff accommodated us without hesitation.

Puede ser un poco ruidoso con grupos grandes. ¡Las luces se atenuaban y de repente volvía a brillar lo que era molesto cuando se intentaba leer el menú! Consigue un electricista por favor 🤓. Pocos desiertos en el menú no estaban disponibles. Ok para las 8 pm un sábado por la noche.

Advised restaurant when I booked two weeks previous the we had a member of the party who was gluten intolerant. Reminded them again when checking on the booking Monday 2nd September . Reminded as they requested on arrival today 6th September.. when we ordered they weren’t able to offer any choice to the gluten intolerant member of our group other than homemade garlic bread. When it came it was that soggy they had to use a knife and fork. The staff other than the manager were miserable, impolite and unhelpful. The mains came and I ordered lamb when it arrived it was almost raw. They should have asked how I wanted it cooked. I told the waitress who cleared the plates and made her aware she said yeah it looked raw. We ordered deserts and out of the three deserts they only had one as they didn’t have the other two. At no point did anyone ask if everything was ok nor did they say please or thank you.

We love La Roma and chose to have our celebration there this evening. Sadly it wasn't great this evening, our chips we not cooked, the pizza was soggy, one of the waitresses was obviously unhappy in her job and didn't use manners or smile at all, when I asked for condiments it was done with an obvious sign of inconvenience. The other staff were lovely and attentive as they usually are and the rest of the food was delicious according to our family. Apart from this it is a lovely welcoming restaurant, good for families, well presented decor. The toilets need some attention as there was mucky tiles, cobwebs, chipped paint, no paper towels for hands. We had to use the accessible toilet, if you needed to go in with a wheelchair you'd find it difficult as the baby change doesn't fold up.

I had seafood with rice and it was delicious. Staff and other customers were very nice too. Relaxed atmosthere in a quiet place. The bridge and clock tower across was a nice view to have.

Mid Week Visit - Visited during the week for a meal and was amazed at how busy it was. A testament to the great food and service that you receive. Traditional home cooked Italian food, nothing is better. Lovely warm welcome and great food. Can highly recommend.

Three very happy people! Food was hot fresh and tasty. Our first time dining and most definitely not our last we discovered this restaurant via instagram mutual follows and we’re even more happy to learn that this restaurant welcomes dogs (in the bar area or outside) we sat inside after discovering the British weather isn’t always the best. One thing to add on there outside area could possibly be an addition of outdoor heaters. We were served by a young lady who offered us her advice on their most popular dishes and her personal preference. We all had an array of different foods and loved all. If I had to comment there was maybe a lack of staff as there were many tables inside and outside which needed attention clearing however there was little to no waiting time for food at all and we cannot wait to come again! Another fantastic experience - love the service from Sergio , Issy, Fenn and all the team today was outstanding - It’s was packed out, a buzzing atmosphere and quick service - food delicious as usual - it was all appreciated .

We waited one our in between thé moment we got our table and the moment we were served. Sergio was great all night long and very Smiley. . We had to return thé steak because it was to tough but thé seconde Time it was ok. Shame the potatoes were under cooked. Thé pizzas are nice and the bolognaise rice balls very nice !

Service was non existent and food was poor. Pasta was in a tasteless sauce with dry chicken which was bland and tough. Staff need urgent training and the chef needs to taste their own food. On the upside the pizza was ok.

Dreadful organization. Shortage of staff. No attention to customer needs in serving meals or clearing away dishes between courses. Was in a group of 20 which had been booked weeks in advance but we were squeezed un a tight space due to them having taken a booking for a funeral. The seating arrangement was basically unsafe especially if there had been an emergency. Some of the meals were overcooked and were returned. Food was generally fine but the experience was bordering on a nightmare.

I recently dined at La Roma Restaurant and I had bolognese pasta, the food was amazing, with rich flavours and generous portions. The ambience is lovely, making for a delightful dining experience. Prices are fair. Highly recommended

Couldn't fault the food at all. Meals were lovely, but the service was atrocious and the Waitress was miserable and ignorant. The Lasagne was £13.45 & you needed a Magnifying Glass to see it. There were literally 2 Spoonfuls & it was gone. I mentioned this to the Waitress and she just mumbled and returned with a reduction off the bill. Really a manager should have come to speak with us, to see what the issue was. Prices have gone UP and portion sizes going DOWN!!!

First time we have been to Roma for a wedding reception, staff were absolutely brilliant nothing too much trouble ,food they prepared was superb ,excellent quality, beautifully presented and tasted even better, we will certainly be back I can thoroughly recommend you would not be disappointed!

Great friendly Italian restaurant. We live near by and visit regularly. The Pizzas are really fresh and the staff are very professional and friendly. We had our sons Christening party at La Roma this afternoon 1/7/18. The service and food were exceptional. ***Update*** Had an anniversary meal today 13/04/24 with my family, service and food were as good as ever. Really lucky to have a great restaurant on our doorstep.

I went for lunch here yesterday for the first time, and had to wait over half an hour to be seated, even though I had booked. When I went to the bar to ask how long it would be and the lady behind the bar was very rude to me. She had no name tag on but had brown hair and glasses, and basically just didn't want to be there. Safe to say I won't be returning any time soon. The food was ok but was overshadowed by the general experience.

Been coming here for years, they always make me and my family feel so welcome. Always have a good time and brilliant all year round to spend quality time out with the family, have good food at a great location. The staff are all hard working and will go out of their way to make sure you’re taken care of. Very friendly and welcoming which sets a good atmosphere. Hope to be in again soon!

Absolute joke !!!! Rang at 1420 to book a table for 1830 and was greeted with no booking made . I showed proof of the phone call on my phone . We were then stood waiting around for 5/10 minutes and then told to get a drink …. LEFT !!!! Shocking service !!!!

We visited 1st Feb 2024. Service was slow, had to ask a couple of times for drinks, and then took some time to appear at the table. The waitresses were friendly and polite. Food was lovely, basic pasta dishes though one of our party had been before and recommended it as they had ordered the Penne de Salmone because of the large chunks of salmon in the dish. However, this time, there were no chunks, only what must be assumed to have tiny flakes of salmon in the dish. The reason for the 3 stars is 2 of our party had bubbly stomachs on their return home, and after powers of deduction worked out, it must have been the Amstel beer. My son, who has worked in the bar industry for a number of years had noted that the beer heads were not what they should have been and remarked that it was now clear the beer lines had not been cleaned thoroughly. I'd recommend extra training in cleaning the lines and the time given to ensure they are upto serviceable use.

We just walked in and luckily they could make room for us. The food, service, atmosphere and staff were all perfect. Would highly recommend.

Booked our daughters 21st meal here for a party of 8. Must say was quite disappointed with the service this time. We had to try to get the waitresses attention numerous times as they seemed to be very short staffed. We had to ask them to sort the cake out and wasn't even offered an option if we wanted it cut or not afterwards. Was basically left to our own devices and also had to wait a long time for the bill , which we was then given a 10% service charge that we wasn't notified about and server didn't even bring the change back. We've never had any issues before and the food I may add was lovely as always. It was just spoilt by the lack of service which we had booked for a special occasion which was a huge disappointment. We always leave a tip but looks like they had took their own with the service charge. It's a shame as we've always gone there and loved the food and the atmosphere, but the lack of service was a huge let down.

Not great, not bad. Average. Friendly service, gluten free options and generally a nice atmosphere, but slow to take our order. Pub standard pizza that was ok. Redeeming factor is there was a magician knocking about who kept us very well entertained.

Called in unexpectedly for the first time, had a drink and pizza for lunch, and was absolutely delicious. Will definitely be returning.

I had my 60th Birthday Celebration at La Roma. It was Amazing! The restaurant and location are beautiful. Food was Amazing. My family and friends had the best time. Had the sea food risotto, one of my favourite dishes and it didn't disappoint. Very tasty! Service was conscientious but not overbearing. Very enjoyable meal out.

We Booked very last minute for my sons 30th birthday for 22 guest the staff were fantastic the food and service brilliant 👏

Very disappointing Sunday roast. Not remotely value for money. Visited Sunday 8th Oct. £15 for a child sized portion of food, (we ordered and paid for adults. Had to have something else to eat when we got home. The y’pud was a small Auntie Bessy’s sized one so you can get an idea of the portion size.

We usually go here for a meet up with friends every 5- 6 weeks, food is always really good, staff are attentive, it’s a lovely independent restaurant, varied menu too.

La Roma has become a favourite place for family celebrations and we were there recently for my grandson's 9th birthday. They have made some impressive improvements since our last visit - the outside of the building has been really smartened up, the food was even more delicious than before and the service was excellent. The staff even brought in my grandson's dessert with a candle in it and sang Happy Birthday to him, without us asking them to. It was such a lovely experience. Full marks, La Roma!

This is our go to restaurant for celebrations and we’ve spent pretty much every one of our anniversaries here. The food is always wonderful and the staff are always friendly.

food is really nice but the restaurant is down a massive hill and is really hard to find! the prices are crazy expensive and the restaurant isn’t open for lunch (!)

Parking is way sufficient with plenty of spaces. The service here is the best in town. It was quite busy at dinner time, though.

The best Italian restaurant in town, the food we had was amazingly very tasty and the service was outstanding despite it being busy. Rosabella was warm, friendly and very welcoming. This was my first time, at this lovely little restaurant, I'll be returning very soon with my family.

I am writing to express my disappointment regarding the inconvenience my partner and I experienced during our recent visit to La Roma. Despite having made a reservation well in advance, our table was not ready upon our arrival, and we were compelled to wait in the bar area for approximately 30 minutes. Despite there being empty tables visible when we arrived. This particular incident left us feeling dissatisfied and inconvenienced. The purpose of making a reservation is to ensure a smooth dining experience, and unfortunately, this expectation was not met during our visit. While we understand that unforeseen circumstances can arise, we believe that better communication and coordination could have alleviated this situation. A simple notification or estimated wait time would have allowed us to make an informed decision about waiting or exploring alternative options. The extended wait time not only disrupted our evening plans but also resulted in an uncomfortable experience in the crowded bar area. We felt that our valued time as customers was not appropriately respected, considering the prior reservation we had made not to mention the cost of a taxi to and from the restaurant as we decided not to stay for our reservation. We kindly request that you review your reservation management procedures and address the issue to prevent such instances from occurring in the future.

A friend took me here for a meal, the food came out in a timely manner, and it tasted gorgeous. The cost was reasonable and we came away full.
