Nabucco Bar & Restaurant in Bolton

We have visited Nabucco several times, it’s a super restaurant, the ambience, the decor, the staff are all super and as for the food, well that’s super too! Try it, well worth a visit.

Fabulous meal and fabulous service. I’ve eaten here on many occasions and each time the food has been well presented, fresh and very tasty! The staff are so helpful and very chatty! The bar manager is a lovely man and takes time to speak to customers. We had a lovely waitress, Leanne who was lovely with our children and took time to talk to us and ensure we were ok despite it being busy. We will be back without a doubt.

I recently visited Nabucco with a group of friends, and while the evening began well, it quickly took a disappointing turn due to the behaviour of the chef, who also identified himself as the manager. Two members of our group ordered well-done steaks, but when they arrived, they were cooked medium rare. I politely requested that they be cooked further. However, she informed us that the chef does not prepare steaks well-done. If we had been told this upfront when ordering, we would have chosen something else from the menu. The steaks were eventually returned to the kitchen, but the accompanying vegetables were left on the table, growing cold. When the steaks were brought back, they were still unsatisfactory, full of fat and inedible. When the waiter asked if everything was alright, I explained the issue and showed him the fatty pieces left on the plate. When the bill arrived, we asked to speak with the manager to discuss our concerns. The waitress returned with a message that the manager was unavailable and that the restaurant does not adjust bills under any circumstances. After insisting, the chef, who claimed to also be the manager, came to speak with us. Unfortunately, his demeanor was extremely unprofessional and aggressive. He reiterated that he does not prepare steaks well-done, to which I replied that we should have been informed of this policy earlier, as it left us unable to enjoy our meals. The situation escalated, with the chef/manager resorting to personal insults, calling us "embarrassing" and "disgraceful." The interaction became so heated that I felt the need to take out my phone to call the police. Throughout this exchange, he continued to shout abuse and even followed us through the restaurant to the front door. This deeply upsetting experience ruined what had been an enjoyable evening with friends. Such behaviour is unacceptable in any setting, particularly in the hospitality industry. I strongly recommend that the establishment addresses the conduct of this individual to ensure future guests are treated with respect and professionalism.

Very poor service although not busy. Expensive for what we had. Would not recommend and definitely will not return. FYI. Meal was paid in full. Never in my life have I walked out of a restaurant. Ever. Never sent food back. Never complained OMG so much aggression.

Awful place to go I would not recommend this place! Terrible wait time that they think it’s acceptable to wait 2 hour for a main course. Manager is rude and aggressive. I will not be coming again

What a shambles manager refuses to see us so we walked out and was met with such aggressive behaviour pleas contact me to explain will not go back after going there for 15 months !!

What an aggressive manger /chef we eat here every month but will not go back the manger wouldn’t see us in till we walked out poor service very aggressive I had no problem paying but not with the service we received at over £70 per head and don’t even finish the meal will be happy to discuss but will leave bad reviews utill I have been contacted and apologise to

Booked for Christmas Dinner 2024 £75- per person. We have been to the restaurant before, however we will not be going again! The image attached is the full Christmas Dinner received! What an absolute insult and excuse for a meal. This was prepared by an alleged "Chef" The potatoes were soggy with oil, veg was rubbery . (What there was of it) Then the sweet of Tiramisu was served to me, having given prior notice at the time of booking and on the day that I am Coeliac! I asked the waiter if it was Gluten Free, he replied " I think so"! On further request for confirmation, it was found not to be Gluten Free! The initial starter contained bread also, which was replaced after I pointed this out to be unsuitable for a Coeliac! A SERIOUS MISTAKE ON THEIR PART We have sent a complaint by email, however to date, no reply received!

Superb meal last night. 7 adults and 3 children, 1 in a high chair. We had the Christmas menu. Food and staff were amazing. Would highly recommend.

What an outstanding experience, the food, service and the overall surroundings was second to none. Staff were very attentive but not overly so. 10/10 for Leanne, she certainly had the finger on the pulse and the rest of the staff were very friendly and polite. Will be returning here again very soon. Not forgetting the kitchen staff, thankyou for the delicious food.

Dinner on a Saturday evening. Menu selection was good and quality of food and portion size was good. Service was friendly however there were long waits to order and in between courses. Drinks were forgotten and dessert order had to be taken twice as the waitress forgot what we ordered. Several apologies were given across the evening acknowledging issues.

Great food good choice of gluten free food would be nice if they had a gluten free lager to drink to go with the food

So my partner and I had high hopes. 1. Girl , who is tall with a dirty blonde pony tail, who was fairly young was extremely rude and sarcastic with us. Mocked us when we were saying good bye to everyone. She certainly needs to grow up as her attitude will get her no where in life. 2. Obviously mistakes happen and chefs are hard workers. But think the menu needs to be smaller because our feed was freezing cold in the middle. Although we reluctantly sent it back (we have never done that before) the young boy and girl who has very short hair couldn’t be any nicer. But just note, get rid of the young girl with pony tail. We could’ve got you lots of customers and we would’ve been regulars. Casa Nostra alll the way

First time here but won't be the last We visited on Sunday evening and ordered the special menu 3 courses for a set cost Staff very attentive and polite , atmosphere us great Food is very good and decent portions Well worth a visit

Dined here tonight, and unfortunately we were disappointed with our experience in this highly recommended restaurant. The service was appalling, young inexperienced servers. We were placed on a table for two very close to other diners, we were that close that my partner and I could not hold a private conversation. The waitress asked to take our drink order before we had had the chance to look at the menu, we asked politely for more time and then it became apparent that they had forgotten about us so we had to ask her to come and take our order. The food was mediocre and we didn’t have to wait long for it to be served, I asked for another fork and had to wait far too long for it to arrive. Once we had finished our main we asked for the dessert menu which never arrived! We dined upstairs and the decor was not very Italian!! Cheap looking holiday type ornaments on cheap shelves on the walls . Not nice to look at. Paid the bill and left, will not be returning.

Four of us have been let down by the chaos of a popular Italian restaurant not far away and needed a good alternative. We were welcomed into this place for our first ever visit and put simply it was fantastic. We were looked after throughout by Tim who was an excellent host and helped us with great service and excellent food recommendations. I had the seafood risotto which I thought was a bit of a risk as sometimes this dish is overcooked and can be a bit bland. I had no need to worry as it was absolutely top class. Cooked to perfection, full of seafood and very tasty indeed. it was pretty filling as well so I managed to get a takeaway was just as good the second day! The rest of the party also thoroughly enjoyed the dishes and I would recommend the cheese and tomato garlic bread as well. It's a lovely restaurant, Great atmosphere and a return visit won't be far away. Highly recommended.

Well what can I say about tonight's visit ..... absolutely dreadful! After making a complaint to the owner about our last awful visit which was in July, Gianni contacted me personally and basically said he liked feedback from customers as he wants them to be happy and because we hadn't had a great experience.... he verbally offered 2 glasses of wine and 2 main courses complimentary he said just tell the guys I've authorised this on your next booking. Along side that he sent me an email stating that this should be considered as a voucher for £20. So I booked for this evening and gave my name into the guy on the desk on arrival without prompting, he told me I was allowed 2 glasses of free wine with our meal. So I explained to him my conversation with Gianni. He then went and got the owner. Wow!!! How rude Gianni is .... he was shouting at me in front of other people, saying he never offered food just the wine! How did I expect him to make money giving food away. I didnt get the chance to mention the email with the voucher he sent me. Never felt so embarrassed. At one point I told him to calm down he really made a show of himself, me and my friend. There was no customer service skill at all. There was absolutely no reason to behave in this manor towards two women in front of other customers. So here's some feedback for you Gianni..... learn some manors, learn how to treat people with respect and learn how to problem solve by keeping to what you told me on the telephone and you'll go far. The attitude you have is a disgrace! After 2 bad visits, I will never return and certainly wouldn't recommend this restaurant to anybody!

Worst service ever Booked a table week prior, got seated quickly. Sat for 30 mins and my husband went to get a staff member to order a drink and food. Waitress came and took drinks order but was unable to take a food order. Another member of staff took food order, our starters arrived before our drinks. With drink order asked for a bottle of table water too, also asked person who brought starters, asked again the girl that brought drinks and again asked when main course arrived. Got bottle of water when half way through main. Couldn't be bothered to order another drink or dessert. Waitress apologised and said she was training two new staff, I'm sorry don't do it on a Saturday night when tables fully booked. Poor judgement

What a delight. I had Pate as a starter and monkfish main. Both dishes were excellent. Perfectly cooked monkfish it was delightful. The cocktails are also fantastic. The decor is really nice too, considering it's an old bank. The staff are very down to earth and attentive. All had smiles on their faces. Will likely come here a lot in the future if this is the standard.

Nabucco is absolutely stunning, 4 of us booked for my sons 24th, (2 of us vegetarian) and everything was perfect. The food and presentation was sublime, perfect size portions and easily on par with high end manchester places. Table service staff were efficient, polite and an absolute credit to you, Well done all round. Highly recommend Nabucco and will definitely be returning. Thankyou for a pleasant evening.

Absolutely fantastic meal, not a single complaint to be had about anything except maybe the stairs going up to the dining area but its an old bank and the bar is downstairs, my meal was lovely, myself and my friend had zero complaints, lovely presentation on the plate, the staff and chef were nice too, we went on a Friday night for our birthdays, cant believe anyone has written its no good, ive eaten in restaurants around the world and there was nothing wrong with Nabucco, reasonable prices for this type of restaurant

Cocktails and food made with a passion

What a terrible end to a fabulous day celebrating my birthday Nabucco Bar & Restaurant we both ordered fillet steak medium to well it was more than well done very dry and tasteless. The guys behind the bar 10 🌟 the young man waiting on 10 🌟 cocktails delicious came to the table to ask if we liked his recommendation and made another obviously knew his craft..thank you Now has for the *chef*/owner you need a lesson in good manners and speak to people in a controlled calm way not throw your rattle out the pram..IT WAS OVER COOKED..end of maybe we should have ordered a pizza lasagna or a chicken dish 🤷‍♀️ Couldn't believe he actually thought we would be paying for it yet there it was on the bill..a very nice girl who definitely had excellent customer service skills came to sort it out..thank you for that. For anyone who heard me shout back at him I had good reason with what *his* parting words where. Would we return...NO..your a disgrace to the other eating establishment's in Westhoughton..you are arrogant and ignorant there was absolutely no need to speak to us in the way you did..we are adults..

Your staff are an absolute credit to you especially the waitress with short hair (nothing was too much trouble, attentive but not overbearing like some places) . We own 2 venues in Atherton & we will definitely be recommending yourselves to our customers. The food and whole experience was amazing! Thank you 🙏 I just wish we had a restaurant like this in Atherton ☺️

Popped in on the off chance they had a table last night and the staff where brilliant, they promptly found us one. This was our first time visiting and we really enjoyed it. The cocktails where delicious, not too sugary either could tell they where good quality. The menu has good choices and some unique dishes. We had pasta dishes and the nudja garlic bread and all the food was delicious. Service was brilliant we will defo be going back again. New favourite spot!

Midweek meal deal superb, Visitied here on a Thursday evening and thoroughly enjoyed our starters ,Pizzas have gone up a notch in my estimation …delicious , three courses for £24 in this competitive market ,Bravo Nabbuco .

Went there for the first time on Saturday. Very poor service. Took them 45 minutes from us finishing our main dish until someone came and asked if we have finished and wanted desert. Wasn't that busy. Then took them 20 minutes to bring the bill. By this time was pretty much empty... we had the carbonara. Was ok not great. Liked the detail of the crispy bacon on the top however had no flavour whatsoever has it happens in most Italian restaurants in UK. Might give another chance but only if i have plenty of free time to wait for the waiters ...

Went to dine at 6pm tonight and the service and atmosphere was excellent. 10/10 guys for everything. Our 27th Anniversary meal was so good and we can't wait to come back. Our new favourite place. Sue and Colin Murphy 😊

First time we've been here and will definitely go back, the food was excellent (we had tomato garlic bread, sea bass, pizza and a tiramisu and it was all spot on). The staff are attentive without being overbearing and the atmosphere was really nice, the music was a bit out there but we enjoyed it! Best Italian food we've had in a long while

We were directed to sit at a table on the first floor, which normally doesn't have a lot of atmosphere, but it was busy and felt great. The service and food were excellent. The knowledgeable wine waiter recommended an Italian wine we had never heard of but turned out to be a perfect match to our food. Highly recommend but better to book Friday to Sunday.

This is the second time we have dined here and both times have been exceptional. We came as a group of 4 and had starters and main courses, both were of generous portions. The service was fantastic and couldn’t ask for more pleasant staff.

Food was great but do not sit on the top floor. It was so hot. I asked for the AC to be turned on, it never was, must be 30 ppl on that floor all windows were closed AC was off and kitchen at the bottom of the stairs leading to that floor Please sort this out, however staff were great and the food was great that was the only thing

Having eaten at this beautiful restaurant so many times as a family, it seemed only right to celebrate our daughters 40th here. After booking the table of 26 we gave a pre order the day before ( most restaurants want a week before) We arrived an hour before with balloons banners cake etc and all the staff were so helpful making sure the table was set out just as we wanted. The starters arrived all hot and tasty and ALL at the same time xx and despite the restaurant being full we had a lovely break in between before the mains came again ALL hot and tasty and at the same time. The whole night was fantastic, everyone said how organised and helpful all the staff were especially Tim x I am so grateful I have this amazing restaurant on our doorstep. Thank you Gianni and the team xx

Been here 3 times now. Honestly, the BEST food I have had! The staff are all lovely and very well trained. The food is well priced. The portions are huge, and the chefs are all genuine Italian (you can hear them speaking Italian behind the line), and the food is absolutely insane. Such a welcome addition to Westhoughton, and we will be back many many more times I'm sure. Hats off to all the staff, the management, and everyone involved. My only 1 slight negative would be it can be a little cold downstairs.. whack that air con temp up a bit 😜 but takes nothing away from what is an amazing restaurant.

Visited on early saturday evening, a group of 4. not many in when we arrived. Drinks ordered but food order took a while to be taken. waited a while for starters, first 2 arrived, waited then the 3rd, then a further wait for the last, by this time the place was now full. ordered more drinks which came out separately. Waited 25 mins for starters plates to be cleared but the manager looked at our table 6 times, it was only when ordering some more drinks were the plates removed. Again the drinks all came out separate. Mains took a further 20 mins from starters plates being taken away to arrive and again all the meals came out at different times. The removal of the finished plates again took a while. But when asked for the bill this arrived in less than a minute! funny that. The food was hit and miss depending on the order. mussels starter, lots of empty shells and no corresponding mussels? one very small piece of bread for the sauce. Starters were not very hot when served. mains cod was exceptionally small for the price of the dish, was supposed to be wrapped in ham but this was just a piece over the top of the fish, ham asparagus and cheese stuffed chicken, again not stuffed just a chicken piece sat on soggy ham with asparagus on top. was never able to raise issues with manager as avoided speaking to people and when you caught his eye he turned away and walked off. Could not be bothered to order dessert given it has taken so long for service already. When paying raised these issues at the bar, the indifference made the decision not to eat here again easy. Seems these sorts of issues have been present a while, clearly nothing being done to resolve though. I really expected a great evening and exceptional food, for the price paid was not worth it at all. We are easily pleased just bring us what we order in a reasonable time and clear plates when finished, make eye contact and have a chat, its really not difficult to provide customer service. I certainly think the age of the wait staff is an issue with many looking rather lost.

Christmas Eve (early evening visit) Pre-booked the table. No pizza or garlic bread, no meatball from the specials menu. The manager was rude and obnoxious. He made no effort to compensate! Two of the meals were terrible. (One resulting in sickness later that evening) The rest of the staff were lovely and the cocktails were very nice. We won’t be returning. We told the manager how disappointed we were and that we wouldn’t be returning and he shrugged his shoulders. We appreciate how very difficult the restaurant trade is a Christmas, but a little kindness and extra care would have gone a long way on this occasion. Sorry, but not good enough.

Best night out for dinner in a long time. We turned up an hour early by mistake, even though the restaurant was very busy the girls were very accommodating. We sat at the bar for a few drinks before being seated. The food was amazing, staff attentive, bill reasonable and we were more than happy to leave a tip. I can not find anything worth faulting. It’s been too long since I’ve been willing and able to leave such a positive review, thank you to everyone for such a great night out at Nabucco, Westhoughton.

Lovely places for casual or a party night out

We booked as a table of 4 for 6pm on a Sat. We were seated upstairs near the window and could look down onto Market Street and see the outside of Wetherspoons which I loved. Right from the get go the staff made us feel special and were attentive taking our coats and asking us about drinks. I really like the variety of options on the menu and would ordinarily play it safe with pasta but decided to have the veal and it was delicious. My starter (photograph) was Portobello mushroom with spinach and blue cheese and parmesan served on a rustic bread and it did not disappoint! As well as it tasting good the presentation was amazing. We ordered drinks and the young staff were so attentive they were a credit to the restaurant! The music was good was not too loud or quiet just right tempo and felt festive. The garlic bread was best I ever tasted and I eat it everywhere i go. My friends both ordered a ravioli dish and it didn't have the beef that it said on the menu, when they queried thus although the management reassured them they did have the right dish they still gave us 10% off our total order which I thought was nice rather than suggesting my friend was wrong they compromised and its a sign of a good establishment. Between 4 of us for starters and main and a few alcoholic drinks we shared the bill and paid £32 which included a tip so I cannot fault pricing structure at all. Would highly recommend.

Been for the first time tonight. Wonderful decor and good menu, will visit again. 2 small comments..... 1. There is no need to check on customers 3 times on each course as its overbearing. 2. When your food is as good as it is, and arrives at the table looking 👌 then please use fresh vegetables for the accompaniment not frozen.

A few weeks ago me and my wife we went for a drive out and we came across this restaurant. My wife suggested to try but me as Italian I’m always sceptical when talking about Italian food . In the end we walked in and first impact was wow The place looks amazing. Anyway went true the menus and it reassure me as was not the “Usual “ Italian restaurant “old fashion “ with the same things . From the starter going true pasta and main lots modern vibrant dish. It mess my mind up of what to eat . In the end i let the chef do it for me . And was not better idea to do. Everything was exceptional . And the price is average but with high quality and standard. Well done 👍 Can’t wait to coming back

Good food, great service by all the young ladies and the restaurant has done great credit to the old National Westminster building with its lay out.

The food was okay. Portions aren't massive and food arrived a bit cold. We arrived at 7pm and didn't get our mains until almost 9pm. There aren't that many tables really so unsure as to why service was so slow. When we were seen by the staff they were nothing but polite but we weren't even asked if we wanted more drinks etc. Also asked for water for the table which never arrived. I would potentially try the restaurant again though as friends have said good things and it may have just been an off night.

I really like this place. The whole feel of the place is quality. The food is brilliant. I've been twice in the last month, and both times, the food has been spot on. The price point is perfect as well. You always feel you had value. I'd recommend it and I'm pretty sure I'll be back very soon.

A huge thanks to everyone at Nabucco Westhoughton who made our daughter Natalie's 30th birthday so special last night. The waiting staff were absolutely amazing and couldn't do enough for us. The food for first class, thanks to the brilliant chef. The setting was gorgeous. We are very lucky to have such an amazing restaurant in Westhoughton.

Fourth visit and be never been disappointed. This time there were 5 of us and booked for 5pm. At the last minute we were given babysitting duties for our 2 grandchildren. Rang the restaurant to explain and they said no problem. All the staff, including the manager/owner, went out of their way to accommodate us. The food is good quality, as is the wine. The staff are attentive, friendly and efficient. Quality restaurant.

A very strange Frenchman brought his own cup from home and served me a coffee in it, saying "I might not have done it enough" when didn't fall ill, but then later giving pleurisy, then said "he wants me to do it again" when I revisited. He told me he was from "Isigny-sur-Mer" but I am not the expert of French (so may have been similar sounding place)

Really disappointed with our recent experience, it was our 1st time trying this place and it came recommended. i booked for a birthday and other than the young lady who took our order the other staff were far from attentive, we never got asked if our meals were ok (starters or mains) i hadnt eaten half of my pasta and a young chap took my playe without asking if i am finished. We wasnt offered desserts or drinks) we left our food table and went to the bar for cocktails and quite frankly could of left as no one was interested, the service overall was just poor we asked for our bill at the bar after not being offered it at any point. The staff seemed very young and distracted. However the food was beautiful and the resturant decor is lovely. But i would be reluctant to return.

Really nice restaurant, good atmosphere, food and service!

By far the best Italian restaurant in the area. We've been a number of times and are always really well looked after by the staff who are friendly and attentive. The food is fresh and of a high quality. I can recommend the calamari for a starter - it's the best I've ever tasted - soft and lightly battered...it's perfect. The garlic bread is delicious, we always get half tomato and half cheese as we can't choose between the two as they're so tasty. I always struggle to pick between a pasta or pizza dish. I love the fresh pasta and the sauces never disappoint, but the pizza base and toppings are so tasty so it's always a hard decision. There's a good variety of desserts, my favourites are the cheesecake and the tiramisu. If you're looking for authentic, fresh Italian food with great service and atmosphere, Nabucco is the place to go.

Wasn’t sure what to expect from this place after reading some of the reviews but we always like to try things for ourselves. Glad we did as it was fantastic and the food was delicious. We will definitely come back again. The service was also excellent on our visit contrary to some of the reviews we’ve read so huge well done to you all. The building and decor is so beautiful, overall a really nice Italian Restaurant will 100% go back.

What can I say about this gem of a restaurant? It is our go to place and has been our regular eatery for over 6 months. I think between myself and the Mrs we must have tried everything on the menu and nothing disappoints. The food, atmosphere and staff are all the best you could possibly hope for in any restaurant. Pricing is extremely reasonable for such high quality, freshly cooked food. Just go. You deserve to experience this culinary delight for yourself!

Have eaten here twice - first time was with a group of neighbours and we requested to sit in the old safe/vault. The second was my 30th birthday where we had forgotten to request seating in the vault and my husband asked if it was available when we arrived. We had a brilliant experience both times. Food was beautiful (I think between the 10 guests we had over the 2 visits, we tried a fair chunk of the menu!), the drinks were great and everything was very reasonably priced. The restaurant itself is clean and decorated well and the staff are lovely. Nothing was too much trouble and our requests were accommodated with zero fuss. Would recommend Nabucco to anyone in the local area :)

Visited a few times now at different times of the week too, quality and service have been of a high standard each time regardless. Almost seems out of place (in a good way) for this neck of the woods.

Have dined here on 4 occasions inside the last 12 months and have been very satisfied every time with the whole experience. 5 stars across the board!

Visited this restaurant many times and still amazes me every time never had a bad meal tried another special off the board and was excellent would definitely recommend as the staff food and cocktails are top notch
