So good in many ways but let down by very poor main course. The staff and service were excellent and the starter of sea bream tartare was well presented and tasty. The venison main course was also delicious but the porchetta was so disappointing, just some tough belly pork with a dollop of onion marmalade and cavalo nero for that price it was very disappointing. The chocolate cremeux looked like a child had thrown it into the bowl.

Optamos por el menú de almuerzo establecido. No es una gran elección de peces, pero afortunadamente había algo para todos. Tuvimos el eglefino y la ternera para empezar seguidos del patín, pollo y polenta. La ciruela pasa de postre estaba muy buena pero el pastel de chocolate estaba muy seco incluso con la salsa de chocolate. Una excelente selección de vinos a muy buenos precios.

Our party of six had an excellent lunch here, just a few minutes from Victoria station but with a very laid back vibe. Excellent food, a wonderful wine list and seamless, warm service, I highly recommend. Delicious rye bread and olive oil to keep us going before the food came, water bottles topped up without asking, we could concentrate on chatting and eating and felt very well looked after. Sea bass tartare, partridge and a frangipane pear tart were particularly delicious.

Lorne me dejó totalmente impresionado. El servicio fue tan rápido y eficiente. Mi hijo y yo cenamos en Lorne recientemente. Nuestra mesa era preciosa y la comida era muy buena. Tenía el pato y mi hijo la porceta. Ambos estaban deliciosos. Gran carta de vinos y precios razonables. Realmente recomendaría.

Tenía tantas ganas de este restaurante, pero me decepcionó. No me sentí muy bienvenido. Nos sentamos y pedimos el menú de ajuste. La comida estaba bien mi pescado el besugo no sabía tan fresco. El entrante y el postre era bueno y el vino era genial. La camarera sirvió una copa de vino para nosotros y luego servimos el nuestro propio después de eso. Lovely restaurant in Pimlico with truely friendly service and a menu that had good options and we found it hard to decide what to have. Everything sounded tempting. We went with pork and duck for mains and both were superb. Sardine and chicken entree lovely also. Nice wine list and on Fridays when we visited they have suggestions of the week from the team which is a nice touch. The team were very attentive and timing was perfect. Would highly recommend.

I wasn’t aware of this restaurant until a colleague booked it for a lunchtime meeting. A great selection for each course served by a very helpful waitress. I shall have to go back for a dinner so that I may sample the wine menu.

The most enchanting and fabulous restaurant The cooking is of truly great skills and it was brilliantly served by knowledgeable front of house who knew the kitchen team and could share the story ( Irish and Scottish!) Pleasantly surprised! There jsnt a lot of menu choice, however the food was top notch! Service was brilliant, always made sure we were attended to. Would go back. Only not giving 5 stars due to the smell at the back of the restaurant. Couldn’t figure out what it was, but it was horrid.

Busy restaurant about 5 minutes walk from Victoria Station. They did a £34 three course set lunch menu which we both opted for. Starters were tasty and well prepared. The main meals were also tasty although not especially plentiful. We followed up with fruit crumble which was a good serving and certainly filled up up. Service was good but unfortunately our waiter was difficult to understand at times and he had little knowledge of the available gins or coffee beans. They also added a 12.5% service charge which we paid although we would have preferred to pay 10% especially on an £8 G&T and a £5 alcohol free bottle of beer. We would recommend Lorne.

My second visit for lunch in 3 months. Service is prompt and efficient, tables not too closely spaced allowing room for business talk. The two course lunch menu has a limited choice, not large portions but very well prepared with interesting textures and flavours. Cod on both occasions, fresh and very well cooked.

Really enjoyed the food here. I had venison for the main and sticky toffee pudding for the dessert, and both were excellent. It's a bit of a squeeze in the restaurant...but I think that makes for a good atmosphere. Will definitely be visiting again.

We chose Lorne as we had seen it recommended in Time Out and by Michelin. Possibly they had a bad night, but we would certainly not recommend the restaurant. Our meal took less than an hour for two courses and it didn't feel like a pleasurable experience. The food was average and lacked seasoning. Consistency and texture weren't great either. We visit London three to four times a year and often return to restaurants. We won't be adding Lorne to that list.

Trotz zeitiger Reservierung und deutlich gezeigtem Misfallen meinerdeits wurde mir ein Tisch am Notausgang hinter einer Abtrennung zum eigentlichen Restaurant gegeben. Ich hoffte, dass das Essen diese Enttäuschung wieder gut machen könnte. Doch die Gerichte waren leider völlig geschmacksneutral. Das tut einem jedes britische Pfund leid, dass man dafür ausgegeben hat.

It may look a little unassuming from the outside but this is an amazing spot. Small menu but excellent choices. I had the sea bream tartare, gnocchi and it was excellent. Intricate taste and beautifully plated. Dessert was a refreshing and tasteful scoop of Campari orange sorbet. Attentive staff, nice atmosphere, without (thankfully) loud music or busy backgrounds. Absolutely recommended. Prices are reasonable for this quality.

An intimate, comfy , friendly restaurant. Small menu , food freshly cooked by a chef who really understands how to balance the meal, it was first class. Really reasonable pricing and only a few minutes walk from Victoria Station.

I don’t usually write bad reviews…but I’m writing this because I just want to save people their valuable time and money. We love going to nice places to eat and we were excited to try Lorne. The good bit - The wine was lovely and well recommended by the Sommelier. Bad bits - The food was bad (a la carte menu). Cold and warmish in the middle, it felt and tasted microwaved and not fresh, it was all really tasteless and presented badly in tiny portions (not that we wanted to eat anymore of it). At £30 + a main course, we did expect better, we ordered the Cod and the Veal (just so you know this isn’t fake!) No one asked how the food was at any point and when we asked for the bill straight after the main course no one questioned if everything was ok. On leaving we spoke to the Sommelier/manager? to say that we hadn’t enjoyed the food and it was cold, she wasn’t really bothered. I’m not sure how a restaurant runs like this in London. We had high hopes, it’s a shame. But, please don’t waste and money and your time here as they don’t really care that much.

My wife and I had the set menu for the first two courses and we both chose from the a la carte for the dessert. We both went for the sweet potato galette to start which was very tasty and a fair size. For the main course, we both had the curried cauliflower, curried puree, capers, raisins and almonds. The dish itself was very well presented and very good to eat but the portion size was absolutely tiny, 3 or 4 very small cauliflower florets, a couple of tablespoons of nuts and seeds and a squeeze of sauce. It needed something with it to pad it out. We were both still very hungry when we finished eating. We chose dessert from the a la carte menu hoping the portion sizes would be bigger and they were to be fair. I had the ice cream with caramelised banana, toffee, almond and chocolate crumble. My wife had the port roasted fig tart cream cheese, Fig leaf ice cream and honeycomb. They were both tasty, well presented and enjoyable. To drink we had a bottle of Argentinian Pinot Gris, which was the highlight of the meal and a bargain at London prices for £38. It was really lovely wine. The staff are very friendly, kind and helpful. Overall we had an enjoyable afternoon but did find the set menu main course to be far too small. If you have a small appetite then you will have a great time in Lorne.

Food was amazingly prepared. A lot of care was put into the preparation of each dish. The dessert was prepared with care and expertise. The service was spectacular.

Totally amazing restaurant from start to finish and the prices put a smile on your face. Every dish was top draw and the staff were perfect. Thank you so much! It’s a 4 min walk from Victoria train station in the loveliest part of London that you’ve never seen.
