Maya's in Wakefield

Our second time of ordering and I remain impressed. The food is fresh, great portions and great value. Arrived piping hot and early delivery compared to the online estimate.

Forgot the extra pepperoni on the pizza which we'd paid exra for

quick delivery for sure. but that wasn't nice. chicken tenders were not fresh they were chewy. Donner meat really greasy. not my normal Maya's meal

I hadn’t ordered for a while as the standard had seemed to decline (a lack of decent/fresh salad, lettuce that was brown on the edges,etc). Ordered tonight and thankfully the food is back to great standard I would usually experience.

The last two orders were oh so disappointing, like other reviews here. Tonight was my test order before I cast Mayas away as one of my favourite takeaways. And I’m so glad I gave them another chance. Chicken back to being succulent and tasty and salad a good portion. Fries weren’t the warmest but quite acceptable. Delivery was quick and chap nice and friendly. Good value for money. I love mayas always have. But the food the last 2/3 orders just hasnt been the usual tip top standards. The cheesy chips £5 and barely any in and not as nice. The order came wrong also aswel aslate. I will always keep using Mayas just hope it changes

Ordered from here for the first time. The food was fresh, tasty and great portions. We may have just found our new place for takeaway. Lots of choice, enough to order from the same place for the whole family. We had a wrap, pitta and chicken selects. Only criticism was the sauce on the mixed kebab was all over the pitta bread which made it hard to handle. Other than that, it was spot on!

Lovely chicken cooked nice always deliver on time but used to order frequently but ask for mild piri piri but this is now the 3rd occasion that it has come way too hot !! I love heat but far too over powering when requested mild. Even my lips are on fire so 2 of the people haven’t eaten tonight my daughter orders hot and she said that it was spicy

I spent about 30 minutes deciding where to order from because all I knew was I wanted good cheesy chips. So glad I chose here because the cheesy chips were very good and I could actually taste the cheese instead of it being like plastic cheese. Think I was a bit ambitious with the 12” wrap, only managed half but it was stuffed with fillings and gorgeous. Thank you, will definitely order again. Oh and to the two little lads who delivered it thank you, you did an amazing job 😊

Been using Mayas since 2018. Always had great chicken. I even left reviews rating it the best chicken in Pontefract. Well congratulations on winning the race to the bottom! Now the chicken is constantly like old dry bots of boot leather. We even rang after the first delivery that was of this poor standard and was told they had just cleaned their frier. Well they must clean their fryer before every batch we order as they have all been same poor quality. After 6 years we will not be using again.

Always order from here they've never got my order wrong and it always tastes great. But lately they are giving very small portions, ordered mixed kebab got 5 piece's of chicken and 3 small slices of kebab meat which probably would not fill a child never mind an adult. Will not be ordering again

The worse place to take order with food. All burgers was get mold. That's not small issues. That's was dangerous for health, me and my children. Its looks they have very poor check food quality and they don't care about costumers. Never again !!!

Best takeaway in Pontefract I always get grilled burger and always tastes good. The pizza tastes very fresh and the bread is very nice. Prices are reasonable.

Lovely food as always. I really like the decent amount of salad you get with the chicken tikka kebab, not all lettuce and onions like other places.

Meal hot, nice chicken pieces getting breast, leg and thigh. Great to have some chicken breast some places they give you the cheap chicken. Great to actually get hot wings that were spicy. Defo order again. And a takeaway that actually delivers what you order. Thank you great tasty meal

Ordered a mixed shawarma on nann, plenty of donner meat, but the chicken shawarma its self was nearly none existent! If I’d of just wanted donner meat I’d of ordered a donner kabab Not worth £11. I also ordered cheesy chips and the cheese was not really melted and had to melt myself at home. Very disappointing Mother’s Day takeaway

I absolutely love the Mayas Steak & Chips. This meal, with No Salad and a can of Irn-Bru hits everytime! The Chicken is always so juicy, would recommend for sure.

Chicken fillet burger was really tasty. Tomato garlic bread was ok, cheese one is much nicer.

Chicken tikka pizza was tasty. It arrived hot and was well made. Our go to take away place.

Food due at 5.45 arrives 10 mins later, called take away and they said she left 15 mins ago, driver was stuck in traffic. Food stone cold and really disappointing, its normally nice. Asked for refund

For the money I felt the food did not match the description. It was bland. I felt it was frozen chicken therefore did not taste fresh. Such a disappointment I was expecting more.

Delivery is always super fast, food is always fresh & hot, I’ve never had any of my items missing and they always honor any request I’ve put in the notes. We’ve tried a few different things from the menu and enjoyed everything we’ve had. Garlic mayo & chilli sauces are really good too. Keep up the great work! Usually really good, but recently had a few issues. Wrong sauce this time and dry, overcooked chicken wings last time.

Mayas used to be my go to and we all really enjoyed it. However we will not be ordering from here again. We have been having a rough time and ordered a little more often than usual, the driver had the audacity to make a snide comment on this. Honestly I don't think it's appropriate to judge someone for ordering

Delivery was quick. I always recommend/rate Maya’s however we were very disappointed with today’s food. Paid £1 for separate salad from mixed kebab meat & chips however I got loads of onions, 1 tiny piece of tomato and cucumber piled in the tray with the meat. The meat was dry and chips just ok but it was hard to eat. The garlic bread with cheese was dry/overdone. The burger was ok but not as good as usual. I’m sure this is just a one off due to being busy as it’s usually the best takeaway
