Service is usually quick and efficient as well. 09/12/23 Beautiful, beautiful food! 😊🔥 26/10/2023 What a delicious curry I had tonight from Morpeth Spice! Lamb tikka Jalfrezi, Bombay Aloo and vegetable pilau rice were beautiful! Great service as well! Older Review Phoned up this evening to place an order, as I couldn't pay by card on their website. Very friendly staff. The food was delivered in very good time, considering I live a little way out of Morpeth centre, and they also gave us a free, sharing bottle of Pepsi as well 🙂❤️ The food was fantastic, and the rice is some of the best I've had. I would certainly order from Morpeth Spice again, as I'm so pleased with everything. Thanks very much guys! 🙂 ❤️

Great local takeaway, ordered a chicken tikka jalfrezi wrap with chips, its not on the menu but 100% should be! Nan bread was very good and jalfrezi sauce was nice and spicy, chicken tikka was also very good!

The best Asian Indian food I've have since leaving Birby, Huddersfield over a year ago. Thought I'd moved to a curry desert, how wrong I was! Spicy Nimbo Garlic King Prawns & Chloe & Kaju Chat with chapatti (+ free extras) best £16 ever spent. Starter portions, but plenty left for tomorrow. Thanks to the happy young chap at reception for his entertaining company, whilst waiting for my takeaway. Excellent (ps leave some updated newspapers to read - preferably not the Daily Mail)! 😆

Very decent takeaway from local restaurant. Not visited before this one as usually order from another well known Indians in Morpeth, but this place is a very good alternative that I would use again. Tasty dishes and good value for money. The naan breads were particularly nice.

We ordered from Morpeth Spice for the first time tonight and we will DEFINITELY be ordering again. The korma is creamy and rich without being heavy, delicately flavoured and just a faint hint of sweetness. Perfect. The Bhuna was excellent, heavily spiced, medium hot and the generous amount of lamb was fork tender. Rice and naan were equally good. Prices are competitive and delivery was prompt. A pleasure to order from (and eat!) and one we'd happily recommend to others.

I order 2 curries, chips, rice, naan bread and 2 portions of onion bhaji every week. Or at least I used to. I've just been called a liar over a missing bag of chips. I've been charged for them, but apparently i didnt ask for them. So for the sake of a £2.20 bag of chips, they have just lost over £25 a week. And I'm not the only one to have had this issue with this place.

We discovered this place when our usual takeaway was closed. I'm glad we did, the food is great, especially my king prawn dish, the prawns were cooked perfectly. Friendly efficient service too. Thank you.

Being fans of Asian food we regularly try food from different locations. This is one you should try, the food is 1st class every time and different to other takeaways in our area. The service is always friendly and efficient and well priced even in these difficult times. Don't be put off by its exterior which is small and unassuming it's the food price and service that's counts, a must try.

When the need arises for a delicious Kebab, Morpeth Spice is the only place in town for us. Prompt delivery and the mixed Kebab is a really tasty generous portion of food. Love them

The best sweet coconut rice that I have eaten, it had some solid pieces of toasted sugar that in combination with the coconut flavor was amazing.i loved the egg pilau rice too and the chicken tikka masala. Great quality and price.i hope to come back soon.

Well as a long term proponent of the Tandor Mahal tides might change a little. I would still visit The classic Tandor Mahal in Morpeth for a meal out but this is the new place for takeaway and delivery and Morpethians are coming round. Although I live abroad, I was back last week and had a superb curry on Sunday night so ordered another Monday just to make sure. The choice of nan breads are great, the curries are the standards with sone interesting specials and decent portions of rice. Phone service is friendly and delivery friendly and efficient. At last the Tandor Mahal has sone competition in Morpeth.

Great food and really friendly staff

First time here, we sared a dish and naan between 2 and had an onion bhaji to start with. We both felt bloated very quickly and proceeded to feel uncomfortable followed a smally, windy night. We love a curry and don't suffer like this from it normally. Don't want to imagine what caused it and won't be returning to see if it happens again. Just grateful we only had half a portion each! Staff were friendly and order was ready for collection on time.

Well, it was around 20mins late, however it did arrive to our village home, hot, fresh and tasty - plenty of food, great quality and to be fair, friendly service. So, already on our list as the place for the occasional cheeky curry.

Absolutely amazing! Went here after seeing all the positive reviews and it was better than we thought. We got a kabab wrap for a fiver each and the wraps were about a foot long! Amazing price for the portion and was made with proper fresh naan bread too. I can't even call the other kababs I've eaten kebabs now I've had this. They said it would be 15 mins and 12 mins later they were done. Bringing my friends back here for them to try too as I'm sure they'll love it too. Would definitely recommend to anyone who loves kebabs and Indian food as this was absolutely out of this world!

Morpeth Spice opens through the week at 5.30. Rang at 4.50 asking for a meal to be delivered, told the driver didn't come in till about six, but if I needed it beforehand, the chef would deliver it himself! Told them six was fine and ordered Lamb Karhai and Peshwari Naan. The chef turned up at 5.30 delivered the meal. Delicious as always. Thanks Mohammed and staff you're worth your weight in gold.

Last time I contributed for here I had an issue with the time it took for the meal to be ready, ie took 25 minutes longer than what collection time was. So roll on a few month later I placed an order with a collection time of 1820, arrived there on time to pick my order up and was told it would be ready in a 'couple' of minutes. It was eventually ready at 1905. Absolutely ridiculous.

Food was great quality, cooked well and great flavour. The problems were salt is obviously needed to achieve the flavour but they went way overboard on salt. I'm a heavy salter but that was one step away from ruined, I couldn't eat past half the meal 'cos it was practically dehydrating me az I ate. The naan was great but tasted like normal dough rather than naan. It definitely needed onion/nigella seeds, or something, whatever that something may be just to give a bit more flavour. Staff were really friendly, rice was nice too. Just the salt spoiled it. It's a shame because I have eaten at a good 20+ Indians in the north east and this would rank about 4th out of those and 2, of the 3 I would rank above it are not comparible in price. It was a lovely vindaloo but the salt intensity overpowered it too quickly. A couple of cooking alterations would change this from a 2* to a 5* review quite easily.

This Takeaway has to be one of the best. Everyone in Morpeth should support it. Try Lamb Hydrabadi and Peshwari naan. Absolutely delicious. Have ordered several different dishes and have yet to be disappointed. Well done everyone.

Ordered a meal and was told an hour for delivery. After an hour and 10 minutes rang to ask where my meal was, was told it was out for delivery. Cancelled order as I was not going to accept a meal which had spent over a half he sat cooling in a car. Will not use again

We switched from another nearby Indian after some poor service but we're glad we did. Every curry is lovely, not too oily, not too spicy. Good meat to vegetable ratio, naan bread portions are generous. Delivery is swift, and the staff are friendly and helpful over the phone. Would recommend this place over any other in Morpeth

Just had another great meal from Morpeth spice. We've had a few over the last few months and I've been really impressed every time. The staff have always been friendly, helpful and professional. They have offers which work out at really good value too. Great range of dishes you don't see at other takeaways in morpeth.

Have I got the correct takeaway? We've been using this takeaway for the last two years to the exclusion of all others. The food is incredible and we normally phone to tell the staff just how good it is, but that doesn't do them much good these days. The depth of flavour to the dishes is fantastic, we've had plenty of curries in Bradford and they just don't compare. Try the Onion Bahgies, crisp, light a slight hint of spice. Delicious. Prepare a small side salad while you wait for delivery. Our favourite main dish is Lamb Korhai with garlic naan. Over the lockdown, this has been our Saturday treat of the week. Please upgrade the star rating, we've honestly never had a bad meal and the staff deserve much better than two stars. This is an authentic review please support this takeaway.

As my usual Indian Restaurant is closed due to Covid 19, I needed an Indian takeaway that delivered. I placed a large order of 6 meals 4 pilau rices, 2 naans, a starter and 3 side dishes. It was delivered a few minutes over an hour. The mixed shashlik was lovely, and the Malayan Chicken was enjoyed by my elderly Mum. The rest was frozen, so I have an Indian meal close at hand. I have eaten two of them since, the curry sauces full of flavour, and the chicken tikka was perfect. I will be ordering again when my frozen stock runs out.

Not sure what the food is like, because after 1 hr 20 mins of placing an online order and calling wast told it would be 30Mins (ish) which would have made it TWO Hours. Cancelled the order and had pizza - 8 Mins.

My wife originates from Bradford and has tried lots of different curries. She always says this meal is one of the best. Having had the same meal ( lamb korhai) quite a few times I am astounded as to how it is the same every time (delicious), and the depth of flavour is sublime. I visited here for the first time this weekend and it did not disappoint. Having purchased a mixed kebab wrap, I couldn't believe the portion size. Everything is well cooked and flavoursome and the tikka chips are something that everyone should try... and best of all, it's great value for money.

Never had a bad meal from this takeaway in Morpeth. The chicken Vindaloo is the best I've ever had . Proper Indian made vindaloo , with huge pototato in middle. Loads of huge marinated chunks of finest chicken breast (Not just thrown into a sauce ar the last minute) . The chips , Nan and pupadoms were also spot on . Not a single negative, price and delivery very good .

Have ordered this meal numerous times over the past few months. It has always been delivered hot and promptly. Have had the same meal in the home of Indian curries (Bradford), and it far surpasses them.I have always contacted the takeaway to let them know how much we enjoyed the food but I thought it might be worthwhile letting other people know too.Not only all of the above, but well priced too.Please try.

I have ate all over, lots of different kebab shops, pizza shops but the spicy kebab from morpeth spice has to be the best one yet, indian nan bread, spicy thick donner meat, fresh salad with a sweet garlic dip. Good price, good portion, honestly cant find a negitive.

This has been our favourite Indian for sometime, but tonight’s wrong chicken dish delivered and 3 prawns in the prawn dish almost all sauce. Certainly a disappointment. The nans, should have been different flavours but seemed to have lost the texture and had little taste. Change of staff?

Been here twice in two weeks. Both times had the mixed special kebab and have to say the tastiest kebab ive had since moving from scotland 12 years ago. The veg has a mild curry flavour and the meat on top. Salad comes seperate so nice and fresh if any travel before eating. Garlic suve just the right strength. First of all, this place does not accept Amex despite having a sticker in the window. Secondly, the Curry and kebab we ordered are definitely the blandest , tasteless things we have ever had the displeasure to buy. Myas next door is a better bet by far, not recommended at all.

We have been using this takeaway for a couple of years now and we have never had a bad dish from them. We especially love the chicken tikka dupiaza rich flavours and have tried it elsewhere and have been very disappointed. Can highly recommend.

Food was delivered two hours after we ordered, 45 minutes after the expected delivery time. The restaurant staff provided poor excuses to why rather than ensuring we received our food. This is disappointing as previous times, the service has been ok. I wouldn't recommend and won't be returning.
