New Chapter in Darlington

Apart from being 20 mins later than latest estimated delivery time, I cannot fault this restaurant. Lovely food and lots of it - my meal provided me with 2 generous portions with plenty left. Delivered nice and hot - I would recommend.

Set meal for 2 was absolutely amazing, best value for money I've seen in a long time, every bit of food was quality and did not skimp on meat or prawns, wow just wow, highly recommended ,try it you will not be disappointed,, thank you I've just discovered my new favourite Chinese takeaway

Ordered duck in Peking sauce rice n chips. Fantastic this is my new Chinese now. They even gave me some free prawn crackers. Recommend

Been ordering my take away from here for over 20 years. Food is always nice and hot. Staff are really polite and friendly. Usually has parking space outside if collecting. Quick service.

very disappointed with our takeaway. chips were awful tasted like they had been reheated from the night before. chicken from the curry was very slimey. sweet and sour didn't taste of much at all.

the happy meal boxes are lovely was going to get a large but got a small and I'm glad I did there was ample food and leftovers the curry sauce was lovely bit watery but nice

Pour quality food, it cost £30 and we left most of it, never again!!!

It's the best Chinese I've had in a very long time staff are always pleasant and helpful you have good size portions for the amount your paying cannot fault it one bit

I have never reviewed anything, but that chow mein was the dryest, overdone pile of rubbish I’ve ever eaten. Noodles dry as a husk and all the meat cremated.

Absolutely lovely , prawn toast was spot on , salt & pepper chips and chicken had plenty of flavour, I could go on but over all really enjoyed my Chinese tonight.

Wasn't impressed with the food at all unfortunately went in the bin and ordered elsewhere.

Used to have meals from here regularly. They were always delicious. However, last night the experience was not nice. Insipid curry sauce, very watery and flavourless. Chips were tasteless, even with salt added at home. Chicken fried rice was ok but not the standard it used to be. Will not be going back again. I Haven't got money to waste throwing food away.

Delivery took over 1.5 hours! I will definitely not be ordering from New Chapter again!

Excellent food what more can you say

I have never tasted such greasy food. If you like a tonne of salt on your food then this place is for you. Inedible.

Food was lovely, we had prawn toast, chicken spring rolls, chow mein, duck, salt and pepper chips and chicken balls and its the best chinese I've tasted in the UK. We collected so I can't comment on delivery times and by the time we took it home it was cold but thats due to us being half an hour away but the food reheats nicely, is always made on time and the lady behind the counter is friendly - I was late to collect and was asked to pop a comment on my order so it could be made fresher...be in time or tell them what time you want to avoid being told off haha

Food was borderline inedible. Most of it went in the bin. Told Just Eat and was offered a £3.80 refund. I've tried most Chineses in Darlington. By far and away the worst. Basically spent 30 quid on cold rice, soggy batter and chips. Won't be using again.

Everything was spilt inside the carrier bag. Literally had to empty the bag onto a plate

Rotten! soggy chips, all too salty had 4 chunks of salt and pepper chicken in a munchybox, delivered late what a waste of money

The food here is by far better than a lot of other takeaways in the area and we will definately use again. Mini spring rolls came with a little pot of sweet and sour dipping sauce, very nice. Chicken ginger with spring onion - plenty of meat , very tasty. Food was fresh and flavoursome. Curry sauce could have been thicker, but that's just personal choice , very tasty though! It was nice to find somewhere that doesn't overload the food with salt! Delivery was on time and the driver was very courteous.

The app updated to say to delivered but it wasn’t delivered until 20 mins later. Not an ‘issue’ as such but feel that it was a way of getting around saying it was late

The best Chinese in town by far. Always taste fresh, it still hot enough and is the best chicken chow mein I have ever tasted

Everything was delicious, they forgot my drinks but quickly brought them, friendly service, gorgeous food.

Ordered with the hubby We got the large happy box Never again will I be ordering Was all salt couldn’t enjoy any of it even the bits of onion from the salt and pepper chips were salty Incoming heart burn from that meal won’t be ordering again!! So salty

Food is more expensive that most Chinese in Darlington but you pay for the quality. Food is always hot and tasty. Owner/Staff are always polite and friendly in a genuine way. Love coming here!

Back in Darlington to see family. Tried this place out. Absolutely delicious king prawn egg foo hung. Highly recommend!

Have used this chinese for years but stopped about a year ago as must have changed owners and quality of food went downhill. I tried again last night just incase it was a one off but should have known when it was empty on a Friday night, the food was tastesless, noodles were rank, chicken balls tasteless and hardly any sweet and sour sauce and the chips were dry and tasted like oven chips. Won't be using again still feel off it this morning.

Absolutely gorgeous will definitely order again. Although I asked for the curry sauce separate and it came on top. Still 10/10 for taste and quality.

Staff very friendly and helpful. They do lovely food. Ordering on line is easy to and delivery is good.

I don't post reviews often but tonight's order was awful. Stale, soft prawn crackers. Noodles that smelt of cheese. Ribs that were yellow/green in colour. Will never eat from here again and would advise people to stay away

Order didn’t even turn up… driver “apparently rang” but yet no phone call and no one had come to the door! Rang the store women was very apologetic but delivery driver refused to bring my food

Food was terrible. Fish had been sat for ages it was thin and over cooked, batter terrible. Chips terrible. House special fried rice full of gristle. Never again

First and last time for this takeaway, wife’s crispy beef was ok but my fried rice dish was bland and greasy as were the chips. Sorry but won’t be using again.

Service was OK. Food was lacklustre, not enough meat in dishes, bland taste. Couldn't finish mine as got bored with it.

Good quality and tasty food. The ingredients looked and tasted very fresh. Not spoiled by excessive salt, artificial colours or flavours as can be the case with some takeaways. A bit more chilli in the singapore vermicelli would be nice please. Thank you for the great service.

Amazing food, Ordered as we were being treated by our office. Food came at the exact time it was estimated between, Piping hot and for the little amount you pay for the Medium Happy Box's you get way more than you'd expect. Food is delicious and will 100% order again. Staff in restaurant are also lovely people very polite.

Was ment to get salt n pepper chips but got normal chips and was ment to get ribs but got little off cuts which were full of fat n gristal. If I could upload pictures of food on here I would to show it. First and last time ordering from hear!

Oct 2021_ This place has new chef, or has been taken over by someone else since last review. NOW the food is intolerable! Everything appears to have been swamped in 'sauce' of some description, and your "crispy fried" dishes are definitely NOT in that state when they're delivered. Will not be returning to a past favourite eatery 😔 2020_ Excellent, tasty, and good sized portions, but far too much 'MSG' or Soy in the make up of the sauces causes gelatin like lumps (not nice). That said, don't be put off trying this popular eatery, it has a large variety of dishes to choose from, and they have all been delivered HOT, which is a big bonus these days. Well worth the money...... try them

Food is decent, but order online. If you buy in shop you pay full up as online but without delivery or bonuses like free prawn crackers. Better food at different restaurants. Still ok though just average.

The best food ever value for money

It's ok as a back up Chinese if you know what to order, Chow Mein make sure you ask for fried otherwise you will get Cantonese Style full of Vegetables. The Beef melts in your mouth, Noodles are delicious but not a lover of the chicken, tastes funky. Chips are ok.

Friendly staff, can get food delivered to your door, order by phone or just collect . Orders placed over phone or just pop in. Food is lovely.

Bad as a dog for 5 days off a chicken chow mien stay away

Absolute garbage .. I ordered 2 szechuan + fried rice and chips with bbq sauce. The food was disgusting and im pretty sure if I had finished my szechuan main I would of been ill. The chips were typical pizza shop style, the bbq sauce tasted nothing like bbq and was bright orange... barely even edible, 20 quid straight into the bin. Barely ever get takeaways and this is why, ordering this rubbish spoilt the night in we had planned. Would leave no stars if I could. Avoid.

Chicken curry was rank, chicken tasted off & a very very small portion of chips, not worth the price, will not be going back

Great all the time and the chicken fried rice is a good size meal!

Local takeaway with a reasonably priced menu. Good portion sizes and tasty food. Beef satay is a particular favourite.
