We had a family platter the first time and this time we had full deck platter. Amazing as always. Excellent service from Rosh⭐️He constantly asked us how our food was, if we need any anything and served us with a smile. Definitely visiting again soon😃😌

Wonderful! Our waitress Saideh was very attentive, and made our experience very enjoyable.

I've been here a few times now. The team are always incredibly friendly and the service is impeccable. They scan the room to ensure that everyone looks happy and manage to time their check ins perfectly. Food is great, the time before last we managed to book for 10 and all the food was ready way quicker than other places. Definitely recommend if you like seafood.

When we lived in SA, we would eat at OB at least once a month, so it was great coming here today and it felt like the old days. Our waitress Saeideh was brilliant, really friendly and efficient. We will definitely be back

Been back three times since my last review and all three times have been an absolute pleasure with great customer service, especially this last visit. Our waitress, Saeidah went all out ensuring we were properly seen to. Even when the salt grinder was not sealed correctly and opened over my daughter’s food, she appeared without me even having to turn around to motion for assistance. This told me that we were still being watched and taken care of even after the food arrived. The quality of food was fantastic and worth every penny. A massive improvement and I must commend those working to ensure the standards staying above board. Will definitely continue returning to this restaurant and would highly recommend it.

We visited Ocean Basket on 14/12/2024 for a birthday party with a group of 8 adults and 3 kids. While we’ve celebrated special occasions here before and had good experiences, this visit was a nightmare. The waiter mentioned we were ordering the last portion of oysters. Who would ever thought that all 6 adults who got them became ill with varying symptoms of what seemed to be rotavirus after eating them. The food was otherwise regular, but this incident completely ruined our next 3-5 days for most of our family. What should have been a memorable birthday turned into an awful experience. After this, we’ll think twice (or ten times) before ever returning. Absolutely unacceptable.

I had Saeideh as my waiter she was very sweet and welcoming , she checked up in us and made sure we were happy with our meal.

Julian and his team looked after us and made my son feel really special on his birthday. The food was fabulous as usual which brought back wonderful memories of sunny South Africa. The only bad thing I could mention was that we all ate too much. Our friends that drove 2.5 hours down from Birmingham said it was worth the trip. Thanks Kingston OB. We will be back. I absolutely love Ocean Basket (Kingston) OB was always a staple when we lived in South Africa, so naturally when one opened in our neighbourhood in the UK we were intrigued! We go often enough to know that this restaurant is consistent with food taste, quality, great service and atmosphere! We took my aunty to ocean basket last night and she said the food was better than South Africa!! This restaurant never disappoints!!!

Had lunch at Ocean Basket and was really looking forward it but the service in this restaurant has really got so bad that we will never return. Then they still have the cheek to add 12.5% service charge to the bill. As fellow South Africans really disappointing.

It was my first visit, and I was thoroughly impressed. The staff ensured friendly and efficient service throughout. I tried the Monday special of hake and chips, which was absolutely delicious. I highly recommend this restaurant, especially for its lovely view overlooking the River Thames.

I had a family member visiting from abroad and they wanted to try fish and chips for the first time. I asked a friend who lives local to recommend a restaurant and was told ocean basket was the place to visit. We were not disappointed - food was fresh and flavourful. It was very busy so a little bit loud but nothing to complain about. Our waiter was very polite and attentive. I hope to visit again! Pictured is the fish and chips, and bite of the ocean platter.

We had the most wonderful dinner at the Ocean Basket restaurant in Kingston. My friend ordered a seafood platter for one,which is one of his favourite dishes at the restaurant. I don’t eat fish( being vegetarian) and ordered chips-fried halloumi and panko coated fried courgettes. All very delicious. We were being looked after by Saeideh,who was incredibly accommodating and nothing was too much trouble for her. I’d rate our visit 10/10 and will definitely be back for more.

Delicious and high quality seafood options. Reasonably priced, fantastic polite service. A great selection of platters, with so much seafood and great crispy chips. Plenty of grilled options too. I can’t wait to be back! Bookings required. I recommend all South African wines, a fantastic value and all were great, reds and whites.

Second visit and it’s a shame I got food poising from the platter! The service from Max was great. I do feel like there needs to be more work overall on service to customers and being more available. Often turn around not to find anyone. Quite odd that a female colleague of Max informed him that we were not in her section so could not help us and called him over. Not appropriate for us to know. Could have been dealt with behind the scenes. He was great though just needs more confidence in himself and delivery.

Literally the same food quality as the SA version. Delicious. Especially the liquid gold garlic sauce. Fantastic service by the manager Julian. Really great food, hope it gets busier - they deserve it! We’ll be back.

Came here for a bit of South African nostalgia, not expecting it to be as good as it was. Quite aside from the nostalgia thing, it is just a very good restaurant with very good food. Our server, Cosmina, was absolutely outstanding. Attentive without being in your face, great with the kids, accurate, and very friendly. Highly recommend this place.

We had lunch and had a big table of 16 people. Our amazing waitress Martha was so amazing! She got our orders perfectly and always made sure we were topped up with drinks. Thank you Ocean Basket. You guys set the bar in Kingston and look forward to another meal there.

My first time at Ocean Basket!!! Me and my Boyfriend had a wonderful experience . A huge shoutout to Saeideh for providing exceptional service! I am gluten intolerant she was incredibly attentive, friendly, and knowledgeable about the menu, making excellent recommendations that really enhanced our dining experience. Really delicious food is served here and with consistency! The portion of the Platter for One has reduced a bit compared to previous years but still testes delicious and doesn't cause any stomach or digestive issues. The atmosphere is pleasant and service good

Food & service was pretty good, but demanding a card payment when the bill comes will certainly make me not return. I know that I could have just walked out if they wouldn't accept my cash but I couldn't be bothered so I'll just not return.

I had the Wednesday offer & I could eat that every week tbh! It was really nice. The bread & all the dips were really tasty. The main was 10/10, nice calamari, prawns & I think Hake 🤔. I had chips as a side which were lovely & crispy on the outside. I ordered an addition which was the chilli corn & again that was lovely. I was so stuffed and would go again & recommend. George was the waiter and he was absolutely lovely 10/10 ☺️
