Pizza1889 in Cambridge

Paid 17.80 for a buffalo mozarella pizza and on table the sauces and topping was dripping away from the pizza base. I tried eating but the base was falling of separately!!! Called the guy and showed him the condition… of the pizza he had just served and he claims thts how this pizza is made and thats the consistency of buffalo mozzarella!!! We refused the refund but this guy was very grumpy right from the beggining of the order and didnot even want to answer question like we asked him what are the non veg pizza choices and he told there is nothing!!! And we were surprised to find a lot more pizza menues when we walked in!! U ruined our appetite and our day! Thank you

I bought pizza nduja yesterday and I was not happy with that. It tasted bland , it supposed to be spicy because nduja and chilli honey but it was not at all. There was scarcely any ricotta. It was disappointment. It was very greasy on top and low quality stinky salami plus strange cheese that didn't look like mozzarella.

Quality of service and food needs to go back to what it used to be… we used to order takeaway here and pizza & calzone were good but since the change of staff earlier this year the food quality has deteriorated. What’s worse is when I ordered on their website for takeaway, after the order had been accepted and paid for, I came to collect the food at specified time, the restaurant was closed with no one answering the phone either. I had to come back few times still not had the refund. No one was responding to the query raised online against the order either. Very disappointing…

I recently made the journey from Bath to Cambridge and discovered a fantastic spot called Pizza1889. I have to say, it was hands down the best pizza I've ever tasted! The flavors were out of this world, and I loved every single bite. It was one of those meals that just made my day!

The pizza lacks flavour - neither were spicy. They also don’t travel well, they were cool at best.

I've been a few times now, after being recommended by an Italian friend. Pizzas are about £12. I particularly like the spicy salami one. They also have meal deals consisting of a pizza and a starter or dessert for a slightly lower price.

My favorite pizza in Cambridge :) they could be a little more generous with toppings though.

I recently had the pleasure of dining at Pizza 1889, and it was an extraordinary experience from start to finish. With great ambience and location (centre of leisure park and walking distance from station); this Italian pizza shop is perfect for casual evenings and special night-outs. Each Pizza was made using fresh and authentic ingredients. The menu also had a wide selection of pizzas and desserts. Staff were friendly and attentive, adding to a wonderful experience. Definitely tops the list of pizzas in Cambridge. Must visit.

It said on the Just Eat search for Pizza1889 that delivery was free. It wasn't. The price was bumped by a 10% service charge at order time so instead of £13 a pizza they were actually £14.30 Food was later, luke warm and a bit squashed Feeling conned and disappointed

The absolute best pizza in Cambridge!! The crust is perfectly cooked paired with their tomato sauce and cheese and it’s heavenly. Their cheese pizza is always my go too whenever I fancy a simple pizza as it’s so simple yet so delicious!! Definitely recommend

Had a takeaway via Uber and the food(pizza and garlic bread) arrived icy cold. I was travelling via Cambridge and saw the reviews which were really good, hence tried. Won't bother next time.

Best pizza place so far in the Cambridge, the quality and taste of their pizzas is perfect. Staff is very kind and friendly. One can have hot and fresh pizzas within 5 minutes which is the best thing about this place. I can strongly recommend to everyone!

It was probably the best pizza I ever had in Cambridge. The sauce was so good, and the amount of toppings was just right for me. Not too much cheese either. The desserts were also good! I'm just not giving 5 stars because my pizza arrived cold, which is a shame.🥲 I'll definitely give it another try, but next time, I'll go there to eat it while it's hot!😁

My experience was great at Pizza1889. I came here with my friends to make them try the place as this is one of my favourite pizza places in Cambridge. Safe to say - both of them absolutely loved it! The service is top-notch with all the staff being extremely helpful! The place is also pet friendly which is great and has a lovely outdoor dining area as well! Would recommend this 10/10.

I have been going to this place for years ever since I started university back in 2019. Their pizza quality has consistently been amazing. Especially since the last 2 years, their quality has been even more top-notch. My personal favourites are the No. 3 pizza, No. 2 pizza, Nutella calzone, and their garlic bread. Can’t recommend this place enough! Also, they have a great outside seating area and indoor seating too for big groups. The service is top-notch too and the staff especially makes sure that you have the best experience and allow for tons of customisation too. Definitely recommended in Cambridge!!

Best stone baked pizza in town hands down.

Finally a really tasty, thin and crunchy Italian pizza!! Chef super kind (like the whole service to be honest). Unfortunately only a few Italian pizzas choices in their menu, but ALL of them 100% original (not like chicken or pineapple on top for example), with also good ingredients. Highly recommended!! A+ (pic: pizza with Napoli sausages and rocket. No filters).

So far the best pizza place I‘ve been to in Cambridge. Staff is welcoming and the pizza’s taste amazing.

Little to no topping. Absolutely shocking. Bases are dry and nothing like a decent wood fired pizza. Think I'll stick to a Pappa John's. Anything is better than this disappointment. Hopefully owners can address the quality control or there lack of.

Terrible dry pizza with hardly any sauce and hardly any cheese. Paid £15 for a margarita with extra onions and mushrooms and it was absolutely shocking. If these people are really Italian they bring shame upon their families

Pizzas usually great, but why is there such confusion at the moment about student discounts and the menus? I used to get student discount before, now they say either 'we don't do discounts after 5pm' (not specified anywhere) or 'we don't do discounts on combos' (also not specified). And there is mix up between menus and prices - the new one in the van, but not in use and the old one printed and then the one in the app.

Welcome back to R&H's crazy food reviews, joined this time by our special guest Y. This week we ate-teen 8 or 9 slices at Pizza 1889. We ordered a meal for 2 deal, which included 2 12" pizzas and 2 sides for £24.50. The pizzas did indeed measure 12". The pizzas were tasty, with a thin crispy base and a sumptuous cheese. The garlic bread side was mediocre, and the biscoff calzone was a nice way to end the meal. The only seating was outdoor (having closed their indoor tables). The area was nice to sit in but there was a distinct lack of shade or windcover to support the dining experience. All in all, some good pizza in a nice corner of Cambridge. Get what you pay for...nothing special.

Had an issue with an order so tried calling them but the phone always went on voicemail. Don’t even know if it’s the right one. I also tried to call them previously for an order and it went straight to voicemail. I don’t live close by but probably not going to order from here again as no assistance is found if you are in need of one

I placed the above order for collection at the Cambridge restaurant using the app on evening of 28/03/23. When I came to collect the restaurant was closed up, no-one there. So they took my money but no pizza. There were also just eat and Deliveroo drivers turning up, no-one there to complete orders. Shocking. I have been chasing them for a refund using their contact email and still no response to date. Avoid this restaurant.
