The plough is the best pub I’ve ever gone too! The staff are excellent, especially Joanna, they are so welcoming and so friendly. If this is not your local, grow up!

I spend nearly every Thursday and Friday here - It is my favourite local pub! I also love the food and the staff and great. Highly recommend to anyone!

I’ve been here on 2024 April with a friend, we ate Fish and Chips it was amazing I came back to London, alone this time and I tried to come back, it was 16:30 pm there wad just a couple in the place and surprisingly I couldn’t stay because I was alone and couldn’t sit at one of the many empty tables, but still in memory of my previous experience, its a ok place…

Our family of 4 ate here after the British Museum and before seeing a play on Friday night. It is such a cute pub!! The service was super friendly and the lady (sorry, why didn't I get your name!) made hubby a delicious hot toddy as he wasn't feeling 100%. The meals were huge and satisfied the young men in our family (and were delicious!). Would definitely come back here again. Highly recommend making a reservation if coming here as it's busy.

Love it!! This is the place to go to! Good cider if you enjoy cider, and multiple types of beers to order. Nice staff and a good feeling over all when it comes to this place! We havent had any food here but im betting its over avarage! Extra shoutout to: Jack for being a great guy!!! He was totally awesome!! And to top it of its friendly, we met some regular me and the girlfriend and they offered us space when the place was packed, they where so nice to us and so was everyone else at the pub! 10/10 would visit the next time we came to London!

Had the Private room upstairs for a Family get together. Staff very friendly, buffet food was nice, All in all a great evening.

Disappointed that the upper floor was closed as this is specifically why we had booked here. We were told we would have full table service whilst sitting in the bar area but this didn't exactly transpire. The steak and ale pie meat pieces were more gristle than meat and the merlot gravy tasted like cheap wine with a bit of thickener in. The mash looked and tasted like pre-done supermarket mash and not the buttery mash I imagined from the description.

The staff is not friendly at all. had couple of drinks with my friends after graduation, went to use the loo, the lady who works there kept trying to enter and opening the door, then proceeded to ask ‘you okay? what’s taking you so long? keep the toilet roll on top of the toilet’ with an attitude and left the loo paper near the sink. It was very unpleasant and completely ruined the mood. never coming here again.

We were booked in to the upstairs room but, upon our arrival were told that upstairs was closed and we had to sit in the pub downstairs. To be fair they had reserved us a high table and everything else was good.

We held our Christmas Party in the Bloomsbury Room upstairs and it was just fabulous. Drinks and food all perfectly laid out as requested and lots of Christmas Crackers! The drinks were cold and the buffet was hot, tasty and plentiful. Huge thanks to the legendary landlady Jo and her wonderful team for great service and a brilliant night!

Great service and beer, best Steak & Ale pie I’ve had for a very long time. Good choice of ales and beers, large screens to watch the footie.

Stopped again for lunch. Had some problems with the food, which the staff resolved and went above and beyond .thankyou. A very positive experience. will be back next time we are in London. All the best for the new year. Len Berit and Garth.

Disgrace of a pub. One of the most expensive pints you can have in London. On top of that, very rude staff. We got pints and sat upstairs, then they decided on a whim that upstairs is closed. Everyone had to move downstairs in the small crowded space, and it wasn't enjoyable. Did I mention that the pint was close to £8. Quite bad

Amazing pub definitely worth a visit if you're in the area or visiting the British Museum. The Steak and Ale pie was lovely and every part of the Fish and Chips was amazing! The crispy smashed potatoes with cheese were to die for. Will definitely be back here again!

Ce pub est proche du British Museum et donc les touristes ne manquent pas . Mais , si la carte est classique pour un pub , la cuisine est moins que moyenne . Du pas fait maison , des frites pas assez cuites , et un service qui n'a pas appris à sourire .

Today two of my friends and I went for lunch, the blonde waitress immediately responded in a haughty and rude manner, saying that we had to wait between 45 and 60 minutes. Since we were going upstairs, I asked if the waiting time was related to the service upstairs or in general to the service and I received an unwanted treatment where she told me "if the kitchen is the same, in your opinion ?”. She was rude, not at all welcoming and her behavior completely unseemly. We left immediately and absolutely do not recommend the place if this is the behavior that awaits you inside.

The food and the service were very nice. The area upstairs where we had lunch was comfortable and not noisy despite having a football match on television.

Another pub with incorrect opening times. Arrived here wanting a nightcap just before 11pm last night (Saturday night) to find the place all closed up. Says it open til midnight. It quite clearly isn’t. Had we have known we would have stayed in the previous pub for another one. Frustrating.

Our first bar soccer watching experience, alongside a beer battered fish and chips 👍🏻 🍷 while we didn’t opt for the beer that’s the drink of choice for most, the Spanish wine caught our eye and we had a bottle of that instead - and at £22 it’s quite a steal for a decent wine! Ambience was decent, there were some folks cheering and shouting with each goal from either side (Man U vs Chelsea). 🐟 fish and chips were good! Chips were great, chunky and generous in portion, while the fish was thick and very crispy on the skin! Definitely a great first experience, would return if given the chance to!

The worst thing you can be is indifferent. Hardly talking to us, bringing tableware to two tables and not even saying ONE word, telling us we can go get tap water at the other end of the room, expecting us to order at the bar…all indifferent. Your service is slightly worse than your food.

The scampi was so soggy the batter literally fell off, came with about 8 chips. Mac and cheese looked liked mashed potato, tasted of nothing. Pretty awful tasting food but service was good.

Came across this little gem the other day , was seated very quickly at a nice clean table , ordered and even though they were quite busy only took about 20 mins for the food to be done

Bar manager was top notch perfect mix of great customer service not not taking no flak, food was awesome bartender was great and recommended an awesome IPA beer. Food was good portioned and tasted great. First restaurant in London so started off with fish and chips and a Guinness

Here for post-work drinks on many an evening. Lovely little space with good Guinness and two big TV’s for football. Reasonable pint price for central, some outside seating What makes it a great pub? The staff, who are super friendly and welcoming, it feels like a family. Not too many places like this in central London I don’t often get the food but a couple of times have opted for their vegan Beyond Burger. I will say that I’ve been to a lot of chain pubs doing an obligatory, bland veggie/vegan option but that’s not what you get at the Plough, the burger was mind-blowing. Seems friendly to tourists, who are often there, but most evenings it’s full of people working around the area who are stopping off for one (alright then, a couple) I’d recommend it to anyone to be honest - if you’re thinking of going to a ‘Spoons nearby because you think it’ll be cheaper - I’d say check it out and you might be surprised

Jack was an excellent host, barman and full legend. Always brings the energy to the crowds, keeps everyone engaged and enjoying themselves.

Cuisine: a lot of things are frozen (fries) or poorly prepared (flake mousseline puree, hard steamed peas without seasoning), very very fatty meat in the pie. We had hints of sauce all afternoon. Service: friendly and pleasant like in a bistro, nothing to complain about Atmosphere: the boss curses out loud as if she were yelling at a customer. No explanation but not friendly, efforts to be made when you are among customers to avoid the room turning upside down Strong smell of stagnant urine in the toilets, I couldn't find a way to flush the urinals, which must explain that as customers pass through, urine accumulates For a bill of almost £40 for two (dishes and drinks), the 4 star rating is very overrated for this establishment. The price does not at all match the quality. And as is the tradition in this country, automatic service charges which are not at all justified by the table service.

Nice pub after visiting the British Museum. Feels more like a local than a central London pub. Staff are exceptionally nice. Only had somecs2eet potatoe chips yo help the cider go down but all very nice. I recommend it.

Our first experience included their steak and their mac and cheese both of which were _really_ fantastic. With a good selection of good beer, quick service, and AC, we really enjoyed our experience. Coming back a couple more times, we enjoyed a lot of their sandwiches (only available before 7pm!) and their scampi as well. One thing I was surprised about is that even though there were a lot of people outside (the weather has been nice), we were always able to find a table inside and never had to wait more than a person or two before we put in our order at the bar. So while this review is more about the dinner experience, The Plough seems like a great place to just get a pint too. Strongly recommended!

The best pub we've been to during our stay. Very nice people, very good food. We particularly enjoyed the Sunday roast and the Guiness.

A truly lovely pub, great atmosphere, and great beer choices. My family and I visited The Plough after visiting the British Museum and thoroughly enjoyed it. I was served multiple times by Sam, a very kind and helpful gentleman giving me great tips of where to visit whilst I was in London. He sure can pour a great Guinness too!

Came in for a Sunday roast with my friend and I can tell you I was not disappointed. The food was prepared amazingly and the service could not have been better. The prices what you expect for central London and would defo recommend and will be back soon for sure.

The pub was pretty busy but seem to only have one member of staff serving. Once you got your drinks both the inside and outside space are great.

We had a wine and a beer and sat at an outdoor table. The interior was so beautiful and clean . Run by the Greene King group Great people watching sitting by Museum Street. They helped us with an Uber app problem. Beautiful afternoon for us.

Good location. The problem is that always the tables are dirty. The glass they serve the beer is dirty. Bad hygienic. The staff was not friendly, and there were no smiles.

The best pub around! So friendly, family run, and a great atmosphere! Amazing Sunday roasts, and during the euro’s, they were so accommodating to everyone! Would highly recommend!

Loved it! Just what I thought an English pub should be.

We had to try ALL the chips and loved them all. My husband was over the moon about the extra cold Guinness. It was an adorable bar with nice staff and customers. It was my favorite eating establishment we've tried so far in London.

Hands down the best pie I’ve ever had. The pastry was perfect, steak was tender and the ale really came through. The mushy peas and malt vinegar? British food at its best! Thanks guys!

This is a little gem of a pub just up the road from the British Museum and a good place to stop for lunch or evening meal. It has a pleasant pub atmosphere and staff are friendly and professional. They have a good range of real ales to choose from and the usual lager offerings. The menu is traditional and extensive and when our food was delivered it was nicely presented and perfectly cooked. Don’t be put off if the bar looks full as there is plenty of additional room upstairs. Toilets are modern clean and well maintained.

We popped in for a spot of lunch. The staff gave us a reserved table with a "please finish by..." time. They also apologised, but food would be an hour due to kitchen circumstances. Knowing this, we ordered our food. It's a proper pub in a nice area and the beer was rather good. I had a steak sandwich, and I can thoroughly recommend a pint of Flint Eye larger. In fact, I'd suggest two.

After visiting the museum, lunch for two. Drink and 5 small plates to taste everything. The order must be made at the bar... it's not as important as the wait!! When we are finally served, the different tastes are very disparate. But that’s everyone’s tastes I think. On the other hand, the setting is really very nice and the servers are attentive and attentive.

We were staying just up the street so we popped in for lunch one day and kept coming back! The last night we met some locals and had a great conversation with them and the bar staff. Jo and Jack were great, we will definitely be back next time we are in London!
