Nice food but service was not the best, not given enough knives and forks for the table, we were given a pizza box to box away our own leftovers which I thought was a bit weird

Working locally and called in for dinner . Burger and peri peri fries and slaw plus a beer. £15. Decent value . Fries were very seasoned, burger was overly-charred for my liking, but all in all lovely taste. Had actually fancied some pulled pork or similar pit food but not even on menu except on a burger upgrade . Would come back though. Service was great

Just been for a Sunday lunch at porky’s with my family. We were 8 people and it was a bit of a disaster start to finish. The service here is normally pretty good but today despite having 7 waiters on for 8 tables it was diabolical. They were very slow to take our order and then announced that they had run out of almost all items on the main menu (no pork, no bbq sauce, no shrimp, no nachos). It took 3 trips to the kitchen by the waitress to establish what was left and we placed our order. 15 mins later they return again to say all the starters we had ordered were out of stock. It was 20 mins before our simple drinks order arrived. Yet more faffing ensued and we eventually got our replacement starters 1hr after arriving. It was then a further 1hr before any mains which trickled out over around 15 mins. In the time we were waiting dozens of takeaway orders were processed and sent out. The staff seemed to have no idea what they were delivering and repeatedly returned to the pass to clarify. The cutlery wasn’t replenished after our starters and no further drinks orders taken despite long empty glasses. The food itself was ok but nothing special. The Yorkshire puddings were so dry they were inedible. They seemed to have been kept in a big batch under the heat lamps and no one seemed to question why everyone in the restaurant was sending theirs back uneaten. The manager was sat in the corner of the restaurant throughout and at no point did he lift a finger to help his struggling staff. When we complained the waitress repeatedly went to talk to the manager who never came to speak to us himself to apologise. We asked for a reduction in the bill and eventually agreed on around 50% being taken off. Overall this was an incredibly frustrating meal that in no way reflected the usually high standard of food or service. The whole experience was worsened by the fact the management appeared to be witnessing the whole thing and just not caring or making any attempt to rescue the situation. Had a booking to go back with a group of friends later this week but will be cancelling and giving this place a wide berth for a while.

Thought it deserved another visit after my last disappointing visit as i heard it was under new management (hallelujah !) The good news it was better than my last visit, but still room for improvement. Service was much quicker, didn’t have to wait long for drink or food , food arrived hot and tasty. Staff generally friendly, although we didn’t ever get asked if meals were ok (2 children, 2 adults) the only time we had attention was by a young girl who asked if i had finished my drink (I hadn’t). The young blonde girl in question didn’t look look she wanted to be there, and was quite miserable compared to the other bubbly staff. Overall ok, kids left full but still improvement to be had in customer service.

Amazing people, amazing food, 100% recommend. Get the ribs and wings. Beef brisket 10/10. Owner Paolo is great!!!!!!!

Under new management and you can tell. The food is so much better and so are the drinks. Double vodka tastes like a treble haha. Food was well set out and atmosphere was amazing. Manager was very hands on asking customers if everything was ok and indeed it was. Will be coming more often now.

Banging food would recommend the porkys pizza or the mr porkys 2.0 burger and good service from Morgan as usual.

Lovely quick Sunday lunch, Morgan was attentive and very pleasant. Great beer selection and a very good flavour in slow cooked meats.

Came here with my girlfriend for a lunchtime special, was greeted and seated immediately via the very friendly front of house staff.Decided to go for the chilli dog with Texas toast and Mac and cheese, all delicious but unfortunately the chilli on the hotdog was freezing cold and had to be sent back. 10 mins later our entire meal was replaced not just the hotdog...very impressive.The waitress who served us was called Ruth and made our visit very memorable, highly recommended.

We went to Porkys as a midweek treat and this was our first time trying it out. Of course we ate farrrrrr too much! The food was good all round, Especially starters And desserts. Went for tea here last night and as always service and food was excellent. It was the first day of the new rules stating that under the new local lockdown. People are to not socialise with other households. However our table was booked for 7.45pm and there was numerous tables with groups of 5-6 people and it was obvious that all these adults dont live together. I just feel as a business and for the safety of others Porky's should be challenging these people and asking for proof of residence to get people to prove that they do or dont live together.As a nurse when out of the hospital im trying my best to follow the rules to keep everyone safe and its frustrating that people are taking the mick.

Went during the week when it was Eat Out to Help Out and the place was very busy. Had a drink at the bar while we waited for our table. Wait staff were good but as mentioned on a previous post it was different staff who served us all night. No wine menu and the waiter had to go to the bar to find out the price of a bottle of Merlot, asked for this as thought it would be guaranteed that they would have it but a wine menu would have been better. Every table was advised to order a starter as the kitchen was busy. We shared some nachos which were okay but different wait staff kept trying to take them away while we were still picking at them. Ordered a brisket and a pulled pork. Both came with fries and a piece of dried burnt toast. Meat was very tasty but I think if we go back we would share a main and order some sides as it was basically a pile of meat. Staff were enthusiastic throughout and social distancing seemed fine. Will come back and order something different next time

It's been a while since I was here last, the last time I complained about the poor service and they give me the meal free for my party. This time the service was spot on yes they were busy but it was nice to have a decent conversation and great food great drinks and fantastic service. Definitely go again
