Slim Chickens Gateshead in Gateshead

I walked into this restaurant, and straight away got told it was card only so i decided to test it out and it did in fact take cash then we didn’t get given our drinks so we decided to go tell the man who served us as he said and i quote “well your ment to get them yourself” then me and my friends, who ordered 3 tenders meal got given kids meals??? so we went up to tell them and they rudely started asking about receipt even though it was the man who served us. I rate this full experience 2/10 chips were nice but were abit cold, chicken was tough and chewy and texas toast was garlic bread and don’t even get me started on the sauce.

Pretty average chicken and chips. Restaurant was nice when first opened but now feels quite run down, bathrooms are disgusting and seems like they are not maintained or cleaned very well at all.

25 pounds for 2 burgers with chips, food was looked like the last remnants of food were put together. it was horrible. even a dog wouldn't eat that

My first ever visit to Slim Chickens and I can say the food is definitely a 5 star rating. I ordered the 5&5 meal with honey mustard & a couple of garlic cheese dips. The chicken was served hot and the fries, crisp and fresh. I was surprised that the food wasn't warm and soggy like it is in that other well known chicken shop. The golden buttermilk coating on the chicken was delicious and it wasn't greasy either. My four star atmosphere rating was given because the restaurant was freezing cold which made my visit slightly uncomfortable so dine in. I'll be visiting Slim's very soon as they sent me a £5 gift voucher because they miss me. I also want to try the other tasty sounding dips!

when the order came the milkshake was missing and the food was inedible as took 2 hours too arrive totally in adequate service.

Good food and good service, plus it is reasonably priced! The Texas toast is delicious! Even though they have a large range of dips, I personally don't seem to like any of them but that's probably just my taste! The kids love it here though!

The fries were average and portion size average and the blue cheese dip was ok. This would not deter me from going back and maybe trying something different but all in all good service with average food.

First time trying this restaurant , ordered from Ubereats it was delivered on time packaged very well. Considering it was delivered on time and packaged well I expected good things. Left very disappointed. The fries was cold no seasoning and stale, the chicken burger was wrapped in foil and the bun was a soggy mess , the chicken inside the buns was thin and coating was burnt to a crisp very dark not golden also cold and very dry. The box containing the food clearly stated made to order & and freshly made which I highly doubt. We paided £36 approx for 3 meals consisting of 3 burger meals and fries and 3 drinks only nice thing about the order was the 3 cans of cherry coke ! Called the restaurant to speak to the floor manager apologised and told me to email slims chickens . First time ordering and definitely will be the last , for the price you expect some kind of quality control because the fries had black burn onion pieces in which again not what you expect pointed all these out to the manager didn't seem interested at all. KFC , McDonald's or even any west road burger joint is far better in quality & price which says it all there . Told the manager I am not after a refund or any voucher just calling up to point out these issues . Absolutely criminal how they can serve such food at those prices without any interest in quality control .

As a huge fan of KFC I normally pick that. However I tried Slim Chickens today and I am not disappointed. The food is exceptional, the chicken is the best I have had out of any fast food restaurants. The food is better at Slim Chickens however it’s more expensive than KFC. At KFC the food is slightly worse than Slim Chickens but you get more for your money there. I had got the 3 piece Chicken tender meal and we received a garlic bread on our meals which was a nice touch. It was nice too. There is a good selection of sauces to have with your meal and a bottomless soda that came with the meal which was good. So you can easily make your moneys worth in just drink alone. The atmosphere was okay, there was a lot of teenagers running around and shouting, which kind of let the atmosphere down. Other than that, it was a great experience and would 100% go again.

I had the chicken salad and found that unusually for a restaurant my meal actually looked like it was advertised and it was amazingly good, I will visit again. A really good example of how good simple can be. Thankyou

As someone who used to live in Buffalo, NY, I am happy to say that these are the best wings and Buffalo sauce this side of the Atlantic, and I've eaten a lot. The Buffalo, Spicy BBQ, Inferno, and Slim Reaper sauces are all amazing. Fast delivery. All round excellent.

Food was great! Only thing would change is that the fries were slightly cold when they arrived but tasty otherwise. The milkshake was perfect, very happy will definitely order from here again

Food Chicken tenders where dry Chips were basic Texan toast (garlic bread) was dry/burnt and not amazing Service There was none, the place is essentially self serve with app ordering. The staff around clearing tables didn’t interact with anyone and no one comes and asks how your meal is Atmosphere The place was full of young lads, they all had the same haircut, you know the type, a few families here and there but no atmosphere to speak of. Overall an overpriced KFC. Wouldn’t recommend.

Brilliant place. Great chicken wings and very helpful that they had a good vegan options. But while the wings are really excellent, the standout winners are the sauces. The Inferno and mango habanero are great. The spicy BBQ is really great. But the real winner is the Buffalo sauce, which is the best Buffalo hot sauce this side of the Atlantic. (And I used to live in Buffalo, NY where I ate my fair share of Buffalo wings.) Great takeaway, always delicious and delivered promptly.

Sauces don't taste great, the chicken tenders were very dry and my partners chips were cold. Wings were okay.

So good! First time trying and I love all the options for sauces !! Fries were a bit cold but can’t be helped when being delivered from Gateshead. Chicken was warm and so fresh! Fully enjoyed :)

Easy to use electronic ordering system. I decided to go for the 5 chicken tenders, fries, Texas toast accompanied with the Slim's sauce and Mango Habanero dip. We took our seats and filled our refillable drinks. The food was delivered in good time. The tenders were juicy and the coating was packed with flavour and when paired with either dip they were very tasty. The fries were cooked well but could have done with some seasoning. The Texas toast was also nice, and a good addition to the meal. The dips were also tremendous, I could not decide which one I preferred as they both brought a good kick to the meal. The food was also a reasonable price for how filling it was, so it is worth visiting.

Chicken buffalo burger was great and so many sauce options. I would recommend the Korean BBQ, garlic cheese sauce and honey BBQ sauce! The garlic toast was a nice a touch with the tender meal.

Missing meal when delivered poor customer service when contact restaurant

When this place opened, the food was fantastic. Buffalo wings, big crispy tenders and a fantastic selection of sauces. However, I went on Saturday night and the place has gone downhill big time. The tenders were about half the size of previous, the wings, instead of buffalo were covered in a crispy coating, and all of the chicken was overcooked. I didn't mind paying a little over the odds considering what I thought would be good chicken, but it really wasn't worth it. The redeeming factors were the staff (great), the milkshakes (very tasty) and the sauces, though the buffalo sauce has regressed to Frank's red hot, and not the wing varaint it used to be. Dissapointed overall, don't think I'll return.

Really sad this didn't live up to expectations. Been wanted to try it for ages but it wasn't great :( not sure if ours was just cooked or done differently but it didn't look like the pictures or those around us. The tenders just had no coating on? Like it was just like eating fried white chicken breast? really bland and no crunch or coating which was just really weird. As such, didn't feel worth the money and was a huge letdown :(

Great place for some chicken! Big menu and everything is so delicious. Staff were lovely, really friendly and helpful when asking about allergies. Quick service too. Already planning my next trip back!

Uber eats, didn’t deliver my order and slim chickens themselves gave a refund and a free meal which they did not have to do at all. They’ve been so helpful and nice. Food is great too. 11/10. If I could give more than 5 stars for customer service I would!

Our 1 st visit to slim chicken at the metro centre Gateshead We were served by Chelsea who looked after us so well going above and beyond to make our experience great, we will definitely be back food lovely especially the milkshakes ( lots of choice)and service great thank you

First time visiting and was very impressed. Ordered a salad meal, 3 chicken tender meals and a chicken burger meal. Upgraded 2 of the drinks to shakes and came to just under £70. Ordered on my phone having scanned the code from the table. Food was brought to our table quickly and the service from entering, being served and leaving was fantastic from all the staff. The meals weee very filling, fresh, well sized and hot more importantly. Would definitely recommend. The Oreo and Biscoff shakes were Devine too. Will happily return.

We absolutely loved the chicken tenders, especially having so many different sauces to choose from. We enjoyed the experience and it was such a satisfying meal.

Fire crunchie shake lovely service

Restaurant kept the driver waiting for 20 minutes. Food was cold when arrived and a tiny portion compared to when you sit in. Doesn’t travel well at all

Loved this place but the prices keep going up and the food gets smaller. I get cost food has gone up but it is levelling out if not reducing a bit. Chicken tenders were tiny and weve been a few times in the last year. Its was v busy and could. See orders going out for delivery too, which i dont think is great when we waited 20mins for our food, when others seates after us got theirs before us. And there was only 2 of us. Order website would not process the payment through aplly pay said it wasnt supported. Kiosk would not let us order the flavour dip we wanted, so had to order using a different phone. Another 15mins on top of the 15 mins wait in the queue. I would have overlooked the order system and wait for food if the food hadnt been disappointing expensive for the amount we received. Dont think ill be returning.

We ordered with my mom 5 tenders each with fries. Everything was cold, tenders were dried, hard, chewie, not tasty and small. Fries were dried and not very tasty as well. We've been disappointed especially when I did spend £30, I won't order again.

3 small chicken portions. Chips were not that good. Bottomless drinks but poor selection...for example sugar coca cola wasn't available. Was still hungry afterwards. Price was 9.99. Honestly KFC is far better.

One of my favourite fast food choices.

Now I am a fan of this place, but the wife wasn't as impressed as me. She said her Burger was a little dry, but my tenders were pretty good. I was completely full after 4 tenders, a large fries meal which has a slice of garlic bread! The coleslaw wasn't as exciting as I thought it could be and there was a good selection of dip...I just chose poorly! The highlight was the biscoff milkshake which I adored! I took my youngest to burger king the other night and the bill came to over 30 squid, so the same price here raised my eyebrows but It was better than Burger King.

Over the years it's gone downhill, the food is sometimes at your table in seconds, when it's like this thf chicken is often rubbery and disappointing. If you have a wait for the food it's much better.

Our favourite place for chicken! Food is always fresh and tasty, good portion sizes & garlic bread is the perfect side for this kind of meal! So nice to have something a bit different and more exciting than kfc and McDonald’s!

Chicken was soaked in grease, no ketchup available and the place just felt dirty and unhygienic. Very overpriced low quality food. Definitely would not go again.

The food was served delicious and hot. I would certainly recommend the inferno dip because it was spicy and delicious. The wings are magnificent. The fries were crispy, and the juicy chicken sandwich had a good texture and feel to it. I appreciated how the herbs in the dinner brought a new touch to the food. Excellent and quick customer service. The atmosphere was relaxing and the seats were comfortable. Very clean. You can use the kitchen roll that is provided on the tables.

The food and service were excellent. I knocked off one star because the toilets were very dirty. I hope the kitchen was cleaner. They have a 5 rating on the food standards agency website so hopefully they can maintain that in the future.

extremely fast service (which is usually a red flag for me because it usually means the food is made quickly/without effort) but this was probably the best fried chicken I've had in years, and the texan toast was delicious. The menu is quite small, but there is a clear focus on quality over quantity here, and the staff were lovely and helpful. We're not local to the area but next time we're visiting the metro center this will definitely be one of our stops

Drinks were missing, the portion sizes are small for what you’re paying for. The chicken sandwich was overcooked. Sauces were nice though and the wrap was nice.

Our order was initially due at 13:30-13:50 and the restaurant said it was due for collection at 13:15. Our order arrived one hour after this at 14:20. We are very disappointed at this and are hoping to receive compensation for the late delivery.
