Rail House Cafe in City of London, Westminster

Nipped in for a quick bite before our train. Relaxed, dim lighting vibe. We had Soul Burger and Feta salad with halloumi from the new menu - all very tasty. Burger - £15.80 (£6 more to add chips).

Ate outside here in the summer, decent food and not too pricey.

I visited London with my mother last October and want to leave a glowing review for the Rail House. The food was delicious, and vibe in the restaurant was superb. The atmosphere was cosy and vibrant and the staff were very friendly and accomodating. We were made to feel very welcome and our suitcases were held for us in the luggage store whilst we ate and relaxed. We were doing a spot of sightseeing before a long journey back to Wales. The staff offered to keep our luggage in the hold whilst we explored Westminster. My mother has some mobility problems and this made such a difference for her in that we were able to move about without lugging suitcases. Her last day was made much more enjoyable. I would like to thank the staff for their kindness in doing this. It made our day! We came back to the restaurant early evening before leaving London and had another delicious meal! The menu was original and healthy. Again, the atmosphere was great and it rounded off our trip superbly! Aside from the great food, having staff who are so attentive and mindful is something you should be very proud of! To show genuine kindness in this way just goes to show the calibre of people that are working at the Rail House. Thank you again! If we are ever in London again we will be sure to come back! A huge 5 stars from us 😊

A place with chairs and tables that are completely different from each other but that at the same time combine perfectly with the cozy and pleasant atmosphere, good cocktails, good food, excellent service especially from Djeli the service was amazing

New year outing was a disappointment The red ribbon offer was not worth what’s on offer as it was less than what you pay for We opted to go for the menu We ordered a Scallop for starter .. we only got 1 ONE on a plate for £10 😳 main course we ordered one Cod and one burger they don’t come with anything NO POTATO OR VEG OR CHIPS OR SALAD … prices for cod £21 and burger £15 Never again Oh we forgot to get a doggie bag

I visited the Rail House on the 21st of December with a group of friends. The food, atmosphere and service were great. Solomon, the gentleman at the door, was fantastic. He made our already lovely afternoon memorable by helping us capture our annual Christmas get-together by taking some beautiful photographs. Thank you.

Went with some friends. The place is really good. The food as well. Prices not that crazy. We were seated upstairs which was great (not lots of people) but that also mean a bit of a slower service. In any case I’d recommend anyone to try it and even go myself again (if upstairs, downstairs seems too loud/crowded).

Breakfast at Rail House Victoria was exactly what we needed to get a busy day in London started off on the right foot. We were immediately seated by a lovely host, and started off with mimosas and coffees while looking at the menu. We ordered the smashed avocado and chard Benedict, the Burgerdict, avocado toast and bacon and halloumi sides. Portions are not that large so our server recommended that we go for the larger size Benedicts - a recommendation we appreciated as the larger portions were just right and all of our food was perfectly prepared and really tasty. We can highly recommend this wonderful spot. Next time we'll also include a few malted deep dish pancakes...

Wandered in to the Railhouse when journeying around London and what a let down. Service was Hot and Cold either all over you or as we experienced Sat down then never asked for more drinks for the whole hour of the experience. Food is overpriced and tiny portions, salad ordered was literally tipped from the salad bag into a bowl and all meals very tasteless and bland. Sadly will not be adding this to our list in future I Unless it’s the ‘avoid’ and don’t let this ruin the day.

Had a lovely and delicious weekday brunch with friends. Was warmly welcomed and enjoyed the delicious veggie options - and possibly the best Bloody Mary of my life! Highlight of the meal was being serenaded by one of the staff members Solomon. Beautiful voice to finish our lovely meal.

Had a fabulous afternoon at the Rail House - the food is nice, albeit on the pricey side (but expected around that part of London). Visit was made memorable by the service - the host, Solomon, was fantastic. So welcoming and just gave good vibes - he also had a fantastic rendition of happy birthday!! We met for brunch, and left at 6 - sign of a good venue!

We hired the mezzanine level for our Christmas party. We had 40 guests in attendance. Everything went so well, I cannot believe how hard the team worked to keep all our guests happy. I am sure they were exhausted at the end but honestly they worked unbelievably hard and did the best job. They were so attentive to everything – they kept the drinks flowing, and made everything look so organised. I had so many compliments from our guests – many more than I have ever had before. It was obvious that everyone went the extra mile to make the evening perfect and it really was perfect. The food was fantastic, everyone loved the sharing platters. I tasted a lot of the vegan menu too as there was so much food and it was delicious as well. The room was beautifully decorated, and we had lots of room to mingle and chat. There have already been requests to come back here next year, thank you so much to everyone who made the night perfect.

I was surprised this was rated only 4 stars as I think it is much better than that. The brunch we had was quite good - my steak and eggs was done perfectly and came with a very nice anchovie pesto sauce. Service was excellent and the ambiance is quite nice.

Solomon was a 10/10. He welcomed us through the door making polite friendly conversation. When we left he remembered who’s coat was who’s and went the extra mile for us. Thank you Solomon you made the experience absolutely lovely.

What a lovely evening… After a recommendation from a colleague we made our way to the restaurant. We were greeted by a very busy but patient gentleman at the door. Our server a lovely Scottish gentleman was a great server. Throughout the evening our host who we later found out was called Solomon was possibly the most perfect gentleman. We found out due to a finger injury he had been in an accident and despite this he was phenomenal. I could not of hoped, as a friendly northerner, for better service-thank you.

This was disappointing sadly. The lovely site I visited went at lunch to get some work done and it was full with similar people and new mums with babies. So overall I felt comfortable and happy. I asked for a recommendation on lunch as was told to get Brunch Waffles malted waes & maple syrup as they were famous. Excited and high expectations I ordered that for £15.50. What I received was 3/4 of a waffle so not even a full one. The buttermilk fried chicken breading was soft and fell off and didn't have that crunch you expect from fried chicken. The waffle was the complete opposite. It was crispy and hard and had no softness in the inside and tasted a tad overcooked. They both were doing what the other should've done. The hot honey jalapeno butter was tasty and cut through the savoury and the super sweet but for £15 I was overall disappointed. I did eat it as I was hungry and the staff and atmosphere was so nice I didn't have a heart to say something. But i won't be back. Plus the wine seemed like they needed a refresh as we see the same wine in a few places now. Please do better and take this onboard but it's put me off from returning as a frequent dinner in London.

Great little spot for brunch with really good atmosphere, music and a general buzz. Food was delicious and quick! Big shout out must go to Aaron, the manager. He is the epitome of what a top class manager should be and we will return for his excellent hospitality! Thank you for my birthday cake too - so kind!

We had a reunion brunch here. The guy on the front desk was PHENOMENAL. He was so friendly and welcoming. He seated us in a really good place with comfy chairs (one of us was pregnant!) and we had a delightful time. They even noticed that we were exchanging birthday presents and so surprised us with some cake and the front desk guy sang an amazing rendition of happy birthday for us! Amazing service - above and beyond.

Jeet was our server at the bar- what extraordinary service! Friendly, prompt and personable - always smiling. He made our visit to this establishment memorable! As visitors from Canada, it won't be one that we'll forget any time soon!

Loved the food and atmosphere, stayed from 6.00 pm until closing time and not pressed to leave which was great as catching up with friends I’d not seen for a while. It’s has a great look and feel to the place and a great night out for work colleagues or meeting friends for an evening out.

Four of us enjoyed a lovely meal in this restaurant prior to a show. We each chose a different meal and were all happy with our choices. Prompt helpful service, nice environment, would go again

What an absolute joy this place is. My Daughter and her husband took me there for my birthday brunch last week and we were welcomed by one of the most charismatic individuals I have ever met. Funny, friendly and keen to engage as we settled for our food. Food was excellent, a great environment and I would absolutely go again

Great place to meet friends for lunch

The food and service were great, but it was very noisy.

It’s a basic brunch place, nothing special. Service was subpar, incredibly slow the entire meal, especially when we asked for the bill. The Burgerdict was really quite disappointing for the price - yeah, it was edible… but I was expecting much more to the dish. The beef patty was so dry, there was only one half of the brioche bun. A few pickled onions, some brown old lettuce, a tomato and an egg. Beware, they charge 13.5% for their poor service and an extra 25p for some charity donation. It’s rude to charge customers for donations before asking them if they would like to, it’s guilt-trippy and quite frankly if the restaurant really cared about the charity, they would donate money from their own pocket and not by guilt tripping their customers. Also, upon entering, the FoH told me my table was sat at the back of the restaurant and pointed. When I asked for more help finding it, she huffed and took us there herself as if it wasn’t her literal job to help take customers to their tables. Management seriously needs to take notes. Wouldn’t recommend this place to anyone and will in fact recommend people not to go.

Fabulous place ,the service is great and food lovely

Excellent experience in this restaurant found unexpectedly next to Victoria Station! We arrived, my boyfriend and I, with 2 large travel bags and we were immediately offered to store them in a dedicated place while we ate. We were well advised on what to choose on the menu. The burgers were really very good! And to top it all off, after explaining to the manager that our departure was going to be delayed by two hours due to a technical problem, he kindly offered us a glass of champagne and started chatting with us. It really touched us to see the understanding and sincerity in the way he spoke to us. We highly recommend this place!

Loved my first visit to The Rail House Victoria. We came for lunch and received a very warm welcome from Arun on front of house. Service was excellent and the food delicious. I ordered the chopped salad bowl with chicken skewers. Salad was fresh and not over dressed. This will certainly not be my last visit. The location so close to Victoria Station was excellent.

Nice ambience and energy, good place for brunch

Had a birthday brunch experience with a friend. It quite a nice atmosphere although I was bit personally out of my depth with the menu. I appreciate the hospitality, the staff really looked after us. Especially one of the hosts Solomon, who was an absolute joy. For his friendliness and energy, I would love to come back again. Lovely experience overall.

Had a lovely time at RHC today with my friends. We were looked after really well by all the staff but specifically Solomon! We celebrating my birthday so Solomon decided to sing the most beautiful rendition of Happy Birthday I've ever had sang to me and I was gifted a delicious slice of red velvet cake. He has such a wonderful voice and I hope he gets a chance to showcase it more often. Honestly his presence was super warm and made us feel super cared for! I would come back to RHC just for him tbh -he was a fab. But thankfully the food was just as good too. I had the Burgerdict which was really lovely and I feel like the portion sizes and prices were decent. The location is perfect and the interior decor is really beautiful. I will definitely be visiting again and highly recommend😊

Came here with work and had amazing service from Solomon and decided to come back for a friends birthday. Solomon again for the second time made it an amazing experience, customised to our tastes he delivered the best service I have ever had in London. Highly recommend for both the food and service. This has easily become a new hang out spot for me.

When I’m in Victoria I always try to come to Rail House, great food and super awesome staff! I think the lady was called Joanne it was Tuesday lunch just gone! And a thank you for the pastry with our wine after lunch you know who your are! X

Se topó con Rail House para almorzar, mientras buscaba para la cena pre-teatro. Pedimos toda la lubina con nuoc cham estilo vietnamita (la opción de menú arriesgado) y el chimichurri minuto filete con huevo frito (la opción conservadora) , y ambos eran fantásticos! No recomiendo la lubina entera a los comensales exigentes con un ojo (disimulado alegremente por una guarnición de pepinillo afeitado) o intimidados por un estante de huesos de alfiler, pero si realmente te gusta el pescado fresco, entiendes que el hueso delicado pero mortal es lo que mantiene el pescado húmedo (lo mismo es cierto con un macho T - filete de hueso) y que cuando el pescado entero se cocina a la perfección suculenta, como en la Casa del Raíl, la carne se descama inmediatamente con algo de ayuda suave de una cuchara. Digo esto como alguien que busca pescado entero, cuando salimos a comer, porque fuimos a varios restaurantes de 4 estrellas en París, donde los camareros son lo suficientemente hábiles para deshuesar un pescado, pero lo hicieron sin nuestro consentimiento y quitaron el plato de operación que tenía todos los jugos sabrosos de vuelta a la cocina para ahorrarnos el desastre visual. Es un sacrilegio para un pescador con siglos de pescadores y pescadoras en la sangre, pero comprensible desde el punto de vista de un restaurante, cuando tienes turistas delicados para servir. El cocinero vietnamita en mí diría que la guarnición de salsa para el pescado, nuoc cham, se habría beneficiado de un toque más de lima y azúcar y chile rojo más asertivo mezclado en la base de la salsa de pescado, pero el pescado estaba perfectamente condimentado, jugoso y tan esponjoso o escamoso como el arroz basmati. El filete diminuto era húmedo y medio raro, pero la estrella de nuestro almuerzo fue una orden a la carta de batata ahumada con mantequilla de rábano picante batida. La suya es una fusión de lujo con una patata al horno estilo cena, con mantequilla y crema agria que comerás en tu vida. Podía bajar un tazón entero de solo la crema de rábano picante batida, tenía la sensación en la boca de un batido espumoso caliente y la cantidad justa de rábano picante, para elevar y cortar a través de la dulzura y la grasa de la mantequilla y la batata asadas y ligeramente carbonizadas a esponjosidad bifurcable sobre una llama abierta. Sé que intentaré replicar la receta secreta en casa. Inicialmente sentimos que los precios del menú eran un poco altos, pero el servicio era excelente, los camareros eran tan amables y acogedores, no aguantaron aires y no nos apresuraron a salir por la puerta, el menú tenía originalidad y ralladura, y pudimos notar que el chef se enorgullecía de la preparación experta de cada bocado. Una de las mejores comidas que tuvimos en Londres.

We were greeted at the reception not only with a smile but a warm welcome and friendly first visit to the Rail House Cafe from Solomon. He made us all feel like celebrities I must say. This made our night to begin with. We were shown to our table and the rest of the service and evening went beautifully as we could imagine. Food was wonderful enjoyed especially the truffle mac and the butter chicken, well done to the chefs, our waiters were really sweet too. We cannot stop raving about this place to our friends and family. We will for sure revisit. Thank you so much. 10* service and shout out again to Solomon.

From the second we got there, our host Aaron and the team made us feel welcomed. They were professional, chatty and went to great lengths to make sure we had an amazing time. The food was fantastic and the service better than 99% of restaurants in London. We’ll definitely be back!

Wow Solomon is the best, from chasing a guy out of the restaurant down the street who stole our backpack. He then called the police. Quick thinking, charming as entertaining. Solomon even sang happy birthday. GM wa also charging and offered a bottle on the house for the theft even though it was not the restaurant teams fault. Great dinner and service for a large group of us from work. The maitre de, Solomon, is a hero. A diner had her ‘phone stolen and he ran like Mo Farah to catch the thief, get the ‘phone back and hold him there until the police came. That is service!

Solomon is an absolute legend! Such great energy, cheerful and just a delight to be served by. My sisters bag was stolen and he ran after the theft to deal with it! He looked after us so well snd a real credit to Railhouse team, going completely above and beyond to keep us happy.

Locale incantevole a due passi da Buckingham Palace, arredato con gusto e dettagli ricercati. Personale gentile e disponibile, menù con proposte molto varie. Piatti serviti con cura, tutto quello che abbiamo assaggiato ero buonissimo! Atmosfera rilassata, il luogo ideale per la nostra pausa pranzo quando siamo a Londra. My POV is on a fairly quiet day, probably due to bad weather, so fairly busy, nice laid back environment both for business or leisure. Plenty of space to choose from, place offers both vibrant center seating and nice more quiet intimate corner to establish a nice conversation. Friendly staff, and good service.

We went along for lunch on my granddaughters 5 birthday 🎂. They made it very special with cake, candle and a special happy birthday sung by a member of the staff + a picture to colour with her name & happy birthday on it.

Lunch service was good - was a quick business lunch. Service much improved from last time.

Travelled to London with a group of friends for my birthday with a full day of plans. Our first stop was at the RHC Victoria and we weren't disappointed first of all the service was 2nd to none all staff were very pleasant, attentive and very polite. Secondly unfortunately we didn't eat only had drinks I was dying to try the pancakes they looked amazing but the vanilla latte was one of the best I have had. Lastly a big thank you to the young gentleman with the lovely voice for serenading me with happy birthday I have never experienced this before it was so lovely and I am so sorry I didn't get your name to name you personally in my review xx so we will definitely be back on our next trip I need to try those pancakes xx 5* from us x ❤️

Wow, what an amazing place to eat and spend an evening. My husband booked a table for my birthday treat while in London celebrating. The atmosphere, food and staff were all five star but, what blow us away was, the first class service from Solomon who truly made my birthday evening and meal from the moment we walked in to the moment we left, truly special and very memorable. Solomon went above and beyond to make my birthday extra special. Rail House are extremely lucky to have such an attentive and customer focused member of staff in their team! We'll certainly be back when next in London. Thank you to everyone (especially Solomon) for making my birthday evening so very special.

Food and Service was amazing. We got the corn fritters, deep dish pancakes, and scrambled eggs. Everything was super delicious. Since it was my birthday they also got us a cake on the house, the front house member serenaded me beautifully he had a great voice. I would definitely recommend and it’s very convenient being next to the Victoria station. Our group had some luggage and they were able to store it for us so we could sit comfortably.

really lovely gem nearby London victoria, well-priced food for its quality and a lovely atmosphere to dine in. very demure, and the staff are very mindful - the host was a delight and couldn’t have accommodated to us more after we’d accidentally booked for the wrong date and had to bring our suitcases with us. a lovely birthday treat :)

Work do for 9 people. Vibe and atmosphere were great. Food was lovely and the staff can’t have been more friendly, attentive and accommodating. Fairly priced, with lots of menu options.

Place is lovely to sit in, drinks are standard, food is drab, I had a bunch of tapas as a vegetarian option, considering it was an average of £10 a plate, it was drab, dry, tasteless….very very disappointing. I’ve had better dishes at a Toby Carvery (and I hate Toby Carvery).

They have a very strange menu. The mains are just the steak or fish you have to order all other bits like chips or veg. Your order a steak(minute steak) it's half as thick. I'd rather pay £6 for the rest of my steak. My mum order a grilled sweet potato. It was a burn half of a sweet potato with dried raw cabbage around the outside and a dollop of horseradish that was very unappealing. I had the truffle Mac and cheese which was gorgeous and so was the white chocolate cheesecake. I believe the chef is good but is let down by the menu.

We enjoyed a wonderful time at the Rail House. The food and drinks were fab but we especially loved the wonderful service. I have to give a shout out to Vishal, Jay and the utterly fabulous Solomon. I have recently been to this place with a friend for brunch and the reason I have chosen the place is because it has a very good review. The atmosphere and the space are really nice and of easy access. We ordered some pancakes, but unfortunately I didn’t enjoy it that much neither my friend. It was hard and difficult to cut and I found paper on my pancake so didn’t get to finish it . The food presentation was great and the staff are nice .

Great place to meet friends or work colleagues. Been going here for over a year now, Aaron is always there to welcome us as we walk in and the food and service is always fantastic.

Exceptional service today at the rail house. Staff couldn’t have been more helpful and accommodating, which made my experience as a new mum with a baby very pleasant. Lots on the menu to choose from and the food was delicious.

I’ll start with the good: Nice venue Friendly staff Very tasty Bloody Mary The bad: Food was very average, but incredibly overpriced. For example I paid over £4 for a dusting of feta cheese to be added to my avocado on toast which is kind of outrageous (even for central London). Food was tepid. The ugly: Charging 13.5% service charge is a total joke.

Very nice place, great flavoured food, and lovely professional staff. The seats were comfy and the outdoor seating was exquisite. Played the right music in the place and I reccomend this place to everyone.

Nice enough place however they apply the service charge even when ordering a pint at the bar, which is outrageous, so gets 1* for that.

The tea tastes like it had been brewed for a week! It was disgusting. The milk split when poured into the tea. The halloumi was rubber like, the toast was burnt ….the food was just of poor quality. The staff were great and nice place to have a catch up with friends just eat before you go 🙏🏼

The outdoor tables are great. Had a mixed experience with staff but last visit they were brilliant. Food is tasty but small and expensive.
