Raven's Cliff in North Lanarkshire

Asked for 3 kids meals to arrive with 4 adult starters ordered around 5.15pm. This didn't happen. We waited & kids shared starters as they were hungry. Asked where kids meals were. Told they'd chase it up but nobody came back to our table to explain. At 6.15pm we asked where the mains and kids meals were. Just being plated apparently didn't arrive. At 6.25pm we cancelled the adult meals and asked if just the kids could be fed. At 6.35pm we spoke to a manager who said no charge for the cancelled meals. At 6.40pm we also cancelled kids meals and left. As we walked away from the table, one kids burger arrived. Shocking service. Later told only 2 staff members working in the kitchen but every other table seemed to be getting food, including many who arrived after us. Unable to leave zero stars or I would have.

Excellent atmosphere dog friendly is a bonus, clean, and well laid out

First time visiting here and decided to give a try as we received 30% off vouchers contained on a flyer posted through the letterbox. It wasn’t particularly busy on our visit although one side of the restaurant had most of the tables occupied whilst the other half was empty. Given the location of the restaurant, unless you stay in the new nearby housing estate, it means driving here as there are no public transport links, at least for now. There was plenty of parking and a couple of Osprey rapid EV chargers. The food was fine, I had the Cowboy Burger which was quite tasty although the fries were a bit like McDonald’s chips. It was served on an unusual metal ashet type dish which I found a bit odd. We only had the one drink each, soft drink my other half and a pint of cider for myself served in a nice tall glass. All in all we will probably return but probably only if there is a similar special promotion as the food and atmosphere is typical of the other main chains like Brewers Fayre, Beefeater and the likes.

Good for what it is cheap and cheerful enough. Server polite enough but no real great enthusiasm or happy vibe - I know sometimes I don’t like my work either (Monday afternoon lunch!) Tables need a few beer mats under them to steady. Some seats ripped but otherwise clean enough. Kids enjoyed burgers would go back. Had a dog with us no offer of water bowl, treats or dog menu (similar to table next to us with dog) refer to comment about server, we just didn’t ask TBH. Seems they don’t do pizza during the day or that might be when quiet there was no explanation except they were not doing pizza. Servers doing hotel guest check ins, waiting tables and bar service. Very good experience! Walked in and the gentleman showed us to our table and we got our breakfasts which was absolutely delicious we all got fry up very very satisfied and definitely will be back!

No coffee within the whole restaurant. Certain starters no available due to issues with kitchen. Very disappointing.

Got a 30% discount code so was a great deal. I had vegi chilli. It was delicious. My Husband enjoyed the cauliflower curry. We are vegetarian so pleased with the choices. Would recommend to friends and family. X

On a Sunday, the food is oily, soggy and cool. Do not touch this place, it a waste of money

The first impressions were really good , the decor was warm and welcoming as were the staff . The problems arose when it came to ordering / the food itself so the first problem was that they didn't have alot of things on the menu both drink and food , some in our group were going to get pizza and doughballs however this was unavailable which threw us off a bit considering it's a huge part of the menu as well as other things like certain drinks being unavailable and since there was no drinks menu available to look at we had to ask what drinks they actually had , starters came out which were good , really enjoyed the nachos , my main however was not good , I had the Hunters chicken , for a start the breast wasn't that big and for paying £12 I would have expected it to be a bit bigger , secondly the breast was extremely dry and there wasn't much sauce on it to soak it up . I will say though that our server was very friendly and was always quick to help us with our queries it just seems to be a problem with the kitchen .

Superb accomodation, lovely friendly staff and an oustanding meal for dinner, had to leave too early to try the breakfast but if the meal I had was anything to go by, faultless. Would definitely book and stay again when I am next on a Scotland visit, so much better than other places I have stayed at and highly recommended

Overall not a bad experience, we did have a voucher for 30% mains that was dated 13/10 but staff told us this was no longer valid.

We booked a table for seven people ordered roast beef dinner they came back told us no roast beef so we ordered the turkey and again no turkey so we ordered chicken it was as dry as old boots hardly no grave wouldn't have gave it to my dog to of my granddaughter's ordered the kid's chicken burger it came and it was the adult portions first time there not impressed my son and his wife we're there on a few occasions said it was really good but he was disappointed this time the waitress got it wrong for the kid's meals had some of the chicken potatoes and veg the Yorkshire pudding was like a biscuit

IT WAS A FAMILY GATHERING OF 6 ADULTS AND 1 CHILD AND ALL THE MEALS WERE IST CLASS WITH PROMT SERVICE .

Leeann was the lady that served us .. she was fantastic.... but there was a girl serving and her hair was very unkempt.... obviously not very infection control consious....I would have said if she was our server....but thank you Leeann, always a smile, great customer service 😀

Gayle is the best !!! We stayed in the hotel because of a wedding we had lunch the day before but highlight of our stay was the super lovely Gayle who gave us lots of details of local places , the breakfast was huge and was perfect !

I've been staying here since they opened, BUT it's starting to look SHABBY these days 🤔 But at the moment I'll Still be Staying here as it suits me with My work in Scotland ( and it's always Quite ) and there's 2 good Quality takeaways only about a mile away 🤫

Food was delicious and served quickly. Staff were very chatty and chatted with our children as well as joining in family joke about hubby eating chocolate cake with custard instead of cream 🤣

Ravenscliffe was busy this evening, diners inside and outside due to the lovely weather. Lee ann served us, very professional, continually being called on from all angles!! Very friendly manner, nothing was to much bother. Courteous at all times. Food was good, good atmosphere. Definitely would return 10/10

We decided to go to Raven's Cliff for some drinks and a bite to eat while we were waiting for our son at the nearby Ravenscraig Sports Facility. We had never visited before and only found it on Google Maps before we travelled to the area. First impressions of the place were great, the grounds and outside space were well kept and the bar area was clean and tidy. We were met by one of the staff who welcomed us and explained where everything was and how we could either order at the bar or from our table using the QR code. As it was a nice day we opted to sit in the Beer garden, having ordered our first round of drinks at the bar. It was great to see how well kept the outside area was and the staff coming out regularly to wipe down tables and clear away any plates and glasses. We ordered our food at the bar and the staff were helpful and attentive. The food was quick to arrive and tasted great. The portion sizes were definitely value for money and the quality of the food was amazing. We ordered another few rounds of drinks from our table using the QR code. It was easy and quick to use and the staff bringing our drinks out were pleasant and chatty with us. We had a very relaxed, chilled out afternoon at the Raven's Cliff and would highly recommend it to anyone. We will definitely be back again, whether it be just for drinks or for a meal.

My friend had lasagna and it wasn't bad at all with a lovely side salad. I, unfortunately had fish and chips. Chips weren't the most spectacular that I've had, one spoonful of mushy peas, tartare sauce that was cheap and nasty tasting and a half of fish that definitely wasn't on my plate. Batter for want crispy at all, however th batter was crispy on the side of the fish that I was missing half of. The tail was curled up to the point of nearly a third of the fish which had to be cut off as there was no fish there to eat. So disappointed as I do feel that the food standards have declined over the last eighteen months. So in short one length of fish thinly laid out and dripping in crispy batter that the edible side didn't have at all. 😢

Myself, my mum and 9 year old all ordered burgers but all of them tasted burnt so had to be sent back. The order was changed and alternate ordered however my issue is with the staff member who dealt with it. She took our initial order and was friendly enough however once we complained about our food her attitude totally changed towards us. Her body language and facial expressions made it clear she was less than happy with us. We were sat near the bar and she kept glaring over (so much that my 9 year old stated she needed to change her attitude) after this she never came back to the table however other staff members did and where friendly enough. Although I did ask what was in the burger sauce only to be told by the young girl ‘erm I duno’ and shrugging her shoulders. Unfortunately the customer service we recieved has put us off returning.

It wasn't a great day for us service was slow wasn't that busy when we went in and couldn't get what we were looking for it was an hour before they started to do pizzas

Only leaving this review to draw attention to the opening times. We have been plenty times before and always enjoyed the food and atmosphere. Turned up on a Friday night at around 8.20pm with 5 other people for food. We had called to book but the automated message said to check online which we did. When we checked online and the booking system said we could book between 8pm-10pm but didn't give a specific time so assumed we could turn up anytime between then. When we did turn up, the very apologetic colleague explained that the kitchen closes at 8pm. I did point out to him that online it says dining booking were available until late into the evening which he said he didn't know about and would have this rectified. It did leave us at a bit of a lose for dinner plans as it was already late evening. I am not blaming the staff for this error and the colleague was very apologetic. I don't really understand closing a kitchen so early at the weekend when the bar looked very busy and it is the only restaurant around and with a hotel close by. Hopefully this error is fixed promptly and nobody else is caught out by this.

Haven't been for a while...there is a new menu, and new staff. Food was delicious, and the menu is so much better with more choices! Didn't have wait too long, and staff were friendly and polite. Be back soon. Came back..... Had a table of 20 booked for husbands surprise birthday. The staff went above and beyond to meet my requests. Staff were friendly and helpful. The food was terrific, and everyone commented on how good it was. Thank you so much for the service 🙂

Dog friendly indoors and outdoors. Great sized venue. Cosy & people are friendly. Food really tasty considering it's like Wetherspoons prices. Latte served in tall Latte glass & Pepsi in large glass. Good deals on 5 small dishes for price of 3. I ordered 2 starters, served warm & tasty.

We had a Sunday Lunch for our Anniversary on our tour of Scotland Sadly the food wasn't up to much and we left it as it was cold and ordered a take away instead the Manager however could not be more helpful and refunded us and apologized we ended up with a KFC but i cant really knock the staff as they didn't make a huge fuss and gave us the money back for a takeaway instead not really what we wanted but at least we wasn't without food and out of pocket

Food was absolutely terrible on both days eating here first night I was told sorry the chef is not so good it will be better tomorrow giving the benefit of the doubt I tried again I must say worst food I’ve eaten (not eaten) and don’t bother with the pints it’s flat as hell manager Liam is also very rude rooms are ok but I’d get a take away

Been there twice for breakfast, great value and far better than the Beefeater in Hamilton, but on the second visit the one and only coffee machine was out of order, with no other filter coffee made available, just instant coffee which I do not like, so very disappointing, also had to ask staff to replenish different things, cups, spoons and the previous day plates for the continental.

I had to ask for table to be cleaned and was met with disdain.i also asked if they took bluelight and was advised yes but it wasn’t taken off my bill and when I questioned it at the bar the staff member said” he must have forgot” then proceeded to walk away. Steak was chewy and chips floppy.Staff pet dogs and then serve food/ drinks without washing their hands.

Friday 26th April booked table, for 5pm. Got in ordered PIZZA only to be told no PIZZASas oven is broken. Went 5 weeks ago and told the same thing oven is broken waiting for a part.???

Lovely restaurant with plenty of choice, Food was tasty, good selection of desert, waitress very attentive. We would definitely return. Great location not far off the m74 , we stayed the night in the marston before travelling down south.

Truly dog friendly which is important to me as a dog owner. Staff made us all feel welcome including my bulldog Bella. Waiter was friendly and attentive. Food was good although I would have preferred more vegan options. I loved that there was a doggy menu and self service station with water and bowls etc. Price for all 3 of us was very reasonable. We will definitely be returning.

Regular customer previously. I attended with friends last week. We ordered a 2 course meal. All 3 meals were missing items such as burger sauce and extra cheese. When asked to have the cheese onto my burger, the member of staff took my plate away and put a small sprinkle of cold grated cheese on top of my burger. When she returned this to me - I asked if it would be possible to have the cheese actually melted on top of the burger. The staff member was quite disgruntled by this. We had to ask several times for sauces (advertised on the menu) to be brought. By the time all issues were resolved our meals were cold. Other staff pleasant however not the staff member serving our food.

Awful experience. Staff couldn’t care less about customers. Food was just okay, we had to ask for kids menu despite everyone seeing kids at our table, no information while booking online that I should notify them about bringing a dog. I thought it’s a dog friendly place. The waitress refused to take the tip either because they don’t get them if paid by card or because they knew how bad they were. Looking at all reviews from the past years I can say that no one cares about them cause nothing have changed.

Nice clean and quiet rooms. Slamming breakfast and helpful staff. FYI, Taxi to Glasgow airport will be about £50 daytime, £70 at night as no Ubers in the area. Used Red Line Taxis to get back to airport.

We had a good meal and good service from the young lady meeting us. She made us feel welcome with our dog. We chatted as ordering drinks and food. She was very pleasant throughout. Our meal was tasty but service was a bit slow to clear our table and order dessert, but could be time was a factor. 5pm! Altogether, we will be back.

Arrived for a wedding at another hotel nearby. The staff were very helpful and accommodating . Every one of them had a smile and clearly worked in a very friendly atmosphere.

The service was good to begin and then fell away rapidly, the server was nice and polite but the staff seemed to be under pressure in the kitchen resulting in long waits for orders

Stayed in the Hotel which was ok, apart from no soap in any of the dispensers. The restaurant however was awful. Our meal was bought out to us and you could smell it was burnt and then when we cut into the pastry it was black , it had been smothered with gravy to hide it. After a few minutes the waitress came over to us and said she was sorry it shouldn't have been served as it was so burnt(we hadn't complained at this point) even other guests on next table said it was disgusting. Meals were replaced with Mac cheese which was at best ok. We asked about breakfast and were told a big group were booked in at 7.30 but if we came early we would be fine. We agreed we would come across at 7am as we were working and needed to be away by 8am. Arrived for breakfast next morning to be told no we couldn't have breakfast as they were too busy (no one in restaurant at this time. ) Said continental breakfast was all we could have as priority given to coach group. We chose not to bother as I didn't want continental and has already agreed the night before to come across early. Did the coach group pay more than the rest of us to be given priority? I would have thought we should have been on a level footing. All in all have stayed at lots of Marstons pubs the Chain runner in Livingstone being one of them I just wish I had gone there instead as nothing is too much trouble for them. Did complain at Raven's cliff , just fell on deaf ears.

Staff very attentive and helpful when making our choice from the menu. Was able to guide us on the appropriate meal as I have issues with spicy food as it can affect my breathing. We both enjoyed our meals but my husband was wanting the mixed grill but it was not available. Would hope to get that on another visit.

The service was welcoming, pleasant, friendly and efficient. All staff were very friendly. Our meal was very much enjoyed. Marstons having the indoor and outdoor play are, and of course the fabulous meals, is a big reason for us choosing Marstons for meals out.

Ravens Cliff certainly has changed for the worse since new chef/management. Food was average at best and staff were utterly clueless and all looked like they hated working their as none could manage a smile. Brought our mains out despite lots of plates from starters still in the middle of table, had to ask for them to be cleared as bizzarly they still didn't notice.. mediocre food and service. Certainly will not be back.

Choice of sandwich was not enjoyable and was not as noted on the menu.

Went for an early dinner, i had hunters chicken which was very tasty, my husband had surf & turf the steak was supposed to be medium, it was well done and chewy a but of a dissappointment.

Decided to treat my grown up grandchildren and their partners to a meal. We’ve all been to Ravenscliff before and like it. As usual, service was great, everyone enjoyed their meal and the place was tidy, neat and clean. Prices are very reasonable for what you get.

We have visited a few times now and the food has always been excellent. Not had a long waiting time for it to be delivered to the table. Staff are very nice and friendly. Food not expensive compared to other places. Would definitely recommend this restaurant.

Had to ask for my wife's dinner as came out late and over cooked. Staff were ok but to relaxed. Fish very oily. Been a few times but wouldn't go back

Most staff were very unwelcoming and rude and were not apologetic about it. I had taken my friend and kids as a birthday surprise and was so disappointed. We waited so long to be asked if we wanted a drink. Drinks came but no menus did. I had to pinch them from other tables aswell as crayons for my children. Finally we were asked about food and we were all choosing pizza...to be told no pizza oven available. It would have made sense to tell us this as we arrived. We decided to order burgers....After all it was burger Tuesday. When these arrive they were completely overdone and bland. I asked the server "where is the burger sauce that comes with it" she said "we have ran out"...again being told this on arrival or even when we ordered would have been helpful. Most importantly when I was being served my dinner the waitress handed it to me rather than putting it on the table. She did not tell me that the plate was roasting hot... if this had been my children's hands I would have been taking that health and safety issue alot further. Again.... she did not apologise for this. As residents of ravenscliff estate we have came to your restaurant many times and booked breakfasts with santa and brought our dog for events too. I'm not sure if you have had new staff or management but I was honestly embarrassed that I brought my friend to your restaurant as a birthday treat.

Food pretty good, great dog friendly place. Staff initially friendly but then inattentive. Drinks forgotten and when we asked, no apology. We were told ' the wee girl didn't put them through ' even though we were given no ice as asked....staff chatting with each other rather than paying attention.

We are regulars to the ravens cliff. The staff are so friendly & helpful. Our dogs come slong with us & the staff always make a fuss of them as well. Food is always great & value for money.

We were visiting Motherwell for a family funeral so booked 3 rooms and a table for dinner. The pub/hotel looks very new and in a convenient location for town and the crematorium. Checking in was very easy and the lady we saw was very friendly and informative. Food in the pub was great, nothing was too much trouble for the staff working. Typical pub grub, exactly what was needed. We took advantage of the 20% discount! The rooms are spacious and all of them were spotless and comfortable. Breakfast is great, choice of continental and cooked. We will definitely use the hotel in the future as it offered great value for money.

Good food although steak was well done rather than medium Good price

Had a one night stay here very recently, our room was very clean and comfortable, evening meal in the bar was lovely and staff welcoming and friendly, breakfast next morning was really nice and kept us going for our onward journey, a little bit disappointed that apart from soap dispenser on wall in bathroom there wasn't any other toiletries, plus the air-conditioning made room feel a bit cold . The place is certainly value for money and I probably would return again

We had a table booked for Christmas day. We were shown to our table straight away. The staff were very friendly and helpful. However, I had to ask for gluten-free dishes twice, although I had already placed an order stating that my Christmas dinner was to be gluten-free prior to this. The food was delicious, except the roast potatoes were very difficult to cut. But all in all the experience was fine. It was good value for money, and the restaurant was clean and tidy.

We hadn’t initially booked for a dog friendly space at the restaurant but when we arrived they managed to make some space for us. They also had a cancellation and offered us their table. Really friendly, helpful staff.

We had booked breakfast with Santa on Christmas Eve. My son loved the experience, he was a little scared of the grinch so Gayle had asked them to stay away from our table. The staff were friendly and were available to help when required. We will definitely be back next year for this experience.
