A brilliant pub with fantastic service

Lets not mess around. This is a gem of a place. Adorned with posters and photos of some of the stars who operated out of the the Ealing Studios, it just oozes history and nostalgia. We had Sunday dinner and it was simply divine. Beef cooked perfectly along with accompaniments. Crumble and custard and a cheeseboard for pudding which was equally gorgeous. Couple of beers a bottle of wine and few glasses of port made for a perfect evening. We made a night of it, but you don't have to spend that much to enjoy the place. The staff were perfect hosts, friendly and knowledgeable. The location, the ambience, the people, the food and drinks makes this a really really special place.

Absolutely very bad and outraged behaviour. Staff are very rude and the food is disgustingly made. Also very expensive for no reason.

Beautiful pub with charming decor and a lovely beer garden. The real ale was excellent. We didn't eat, partly due to the lack of vegan options and also the very upmarket prices for pub food. Great for a drink, though.

It's a very nice pub next door with friendly staff. Payment only via card, no cash. As for food I only tried fish & chips, but had it twice already. It was very tasty and a good portion too. Nice garden

Great little pub that's only a short walk from Ealing Broadway station. The staff are friendly, the food is amazing and there is a nice little outdoor area.

Don’t waste your time and money on this place! Unfortunately it’s not a place worth dining! You could find a better alternative for the same price!

I came down with the kids, and had the most delicious meal. Kids and myself overjoyed with the quality of the food! The (ex) wife came to pick the kids up and I ended staying till close, best group of locals with brilliant beers and great selection of spirits on offer! 10/10 would recommend! Shout out to Will, thanks for helping my (ex) wife out of the building!!

Wow! What an amazing surprise. Came here for a quick pint and ended up staying for 10! Beautiful atmosphere and recently reopened and I must say it’s great. The general manager was particularly kind and made me feel very at home.

Since recently moving to the area, I’ve been on the hunt for my new go-to pub, and safe to say - I’ve found it! Splendid food and a delightful atmosphere, consider me part of the furniture!

I was visiting London from the U.S. this week and stopped in, had a great time. The service was friendly and quick, and best of all, I didn’t spend a fortune. I’ll be looking forward to my next trip to the UK and returning to the Red Lion!

A super local pub with good service and great food. The pub is easy to drive or walk past without seeing it so do slow down to get in there. The food is really good, I and my party happen to meet the chef as tbey have a good bbq every Thursday through to Saturday and this is where we had a blast. All was excellent had a good time. All good. Will come here again.

Had lunch there today. New summer menu and we all ordered different things and shared. It’s all fantastic. Not a single bum note. Salt cod salad was sharp, Mediterranean and tasty. Giant couscous salad was fresh and light and the gazpacho was world class. Also has the steak sandwich with chimichurri which was exceptional. Lovely and reasonably priced bottle of rose and friendly and relaxed front of house team. We were inside but I could smell delicious barbecue smells Sadly we were too early for the barbecue and smoked meat, but the chef took us out to show what he was preparing. Looks delicious. I’ll have to go back again. Top marks Red Lion. Proper pub lunch. Thank you.

Good pub, popular with families on a Saturday afternoon. The food looked nice.

One of my favourite in Ealing. After the refurbishment everything inside works much better. The space is well organised and more cosy. Nice staff and an outstanding menu that gives a twist to the usual pub grub. The beer garden is, colourful and enjoyable leaving for a friendly chat or a big group of friends. I’d suggest to give the possibility to choose the cooking time for wagyu burger as it’s a very apwacial meat.

My #1 choice for when I want good food and good beer. Shame they no longer serve pizza from up the road. But no hard feelings. I hear the live music is good?

Met here for a drink, but the menu looked interesting so we stayed for dinner. So, so good! I got a steak which was fantastic, my sister had the rabbit and the boys had the pithivier (pie). All were incredible, we will definitely be back. Some of the best food in Ealing The pub cat Tom sweetens the deal too!

This pub ALWAYS disappoints. From the service to the general atmosphere and welcome. How can a table get a reserved sign plonked down for 10 minutes later when you're already sat at it??!! We're local and each time we vow never to go back. Thought it may have improved but sadly not.

The Red Lion in Ealing courtesy of the Fuller's stable. Stage 6, as was known from the days when the likes of Alec Guinness, Sid James and others frequented the place, a bit of history. A great place for a beer but failed to meet the Ealing crowd from many years ago. Ghosts are not what they used to be! Lovely beer!

Amazing choice of wines. Had their tomahawk for their steak night which eas delicious and presented really well. Great service and friendly staffs.

Dropped into this pub by reading the history on their board outside. Great ambience! Incredible staff. The food was delicious. The desserts were my personal favourite. They had good choice of wine and beers to choose from too. The photos at the back are intriguing to look at. It was a great experience. Will visit again soon.

Reopened by new owner. Atmosphere hasn't been changed much with lots of old actors & actress pictures from BBC studio near by the pub. Sunday roast is tasty and just right size, but presentation is ordinary. Good service and friendly staff. Parking is free around there at weekend. Dog friendly and the owner has 2 cats in the rear garden.

The pub that Ealing, been missing, fantastic food , had the tomahawk and scallops just great food at very respectable prices.

I visited this place with a couple of my friends. We went there expecting pizza but they had changed the menu. The waitress convinced us to try the guineafowl, seabass and burrata. All of them were delicious to eat. They had a wide range of beers even gluten free options on the tap. The service was excellent. Overall a new and good experience..!!!

The food was great tried the scallops to start with and then went onto having a steak. It was cooked to my needs. Also they have quite a few choices of alcohol. Great and friendly service and I will definetely visit again soon :))

I visited the pub last Friday with the friend. We tried their ox-cheek pithivier with creamy mash and the pasta. Both were extremely tasty and worth the money. The apple crumble to finish with what a good end to the day. The pub is got a cozy vibe and the cocktails are amazing. Food and service was a 10/10 . Will definitely visit again.

I visited here on Saturday 20/01/24 with my Husband for food and drinks. We had the tomahawk steak to share, with salad, chips and bone marrow to share, espresso martini, a glass of wine and a beer. The food service and pub was amazing. Levi, our server was 10/10, explained everything, provided great service and we will definitely return. Great Pub!!

A really super local pub! We went there as a group of 15 for Sunday lunch and the food was great and the staff were awesome. They have a really good menu and the atmosphere and decor were lovely! Great outside area too - check it out!

Good beer but didn't understand that a standard measure of Vermouth (Martini Bianco etc) in a pub is 50ml. Gave me a 25 ml measure but charged me full price. This is happening in more and more pubs lately, they need to check the gov't website.

Had a fantastic Sunday roast here. Food was delicious, service was great and they were very dog friendly. Highly recommend and will definetley visit again soon.

Lovely place! Live music by Glory created such a cozy atmosphere. I was really drawn by her amazing voice! I had a great time with my friends! It's a pity the place is not wheelchair friendly. I had to ask a friend to help me move the chair while I did the steps (I am ambulatory).

Glad to see the Red Lion back open after being closed for a bit. It’s been a lifelong Ealing stalwart and a classic pub. The latest incarnation is pretty good. The lager selection perhaps was a little uninspiring though. I opted for a London Pride which was a bit pricy at £5.40 for a pint, but well kept. Perching on a table out the front was nice too just to see the world go by (and see if there’s any chance of a 65 this side of 2024!). Staff were friendly enough too. I browsed the food menu, but it was cost prohibitive. Over £18 for a burger and then 12.5% service charge added on. Not for me on that front if you ordered at the bar (we’re not in America). The he food next door at the pizza place looked great and was much better priced. Hopefully a fitting replacement for Santa Maria. Decent for a pint and glad it’s back open.

A change of management has given the Red Lion a new look, but the upmarket, gastro-pub menu has pushed prices beyond those usually paid by its regular clientele (although the food is very good). Regulars will remember how busy the pub use to be even on a weekday night, but now punters are quite sparse on the ground and the pub felt quite empty while we were there.

Lovely pub with a rich History involving Ealing studios. Friendly and attentive staff, great selection of beers and decent menu. I had the lamb curry, as it was curry night. There were 4 options including 2 meat, seafood and vegan and I have to say it was very tasty, with the meat nicely cooked and the sauce flavoursome. Definitely worth a look if you are in the area.

Under new management! A really lovely facelift, really friendly staff, a good menu and a much better wine list (thank you!). But still retaining the ethos of this historic Ealing establishment!

A great pub, and a stable of the fullers family of pubs in Ealing, lovely courtyard garden, good pub grub and the staff are friendly and attentive. They've added a few more soft furnishings too to give the place an even more welcoming atmosphere. Watch out for some live music and pub quiz nights too.

Food was amazing had the bbq beef burger…it was really juicy and good. The garden is a total vibe with really good music. They serve the best mojitos! A definite hangout on the weekends for a cosy meal and drinks!

It has a history related to the former Ealing Studios.

Everything that could go wrong with the food did go wrong: took 45mins, served on slates rather than plates, cold dishes, tough dry meats. However, service was outstanding. Apologies and replacements with more apologies and a smile. As we were paying we were told that chef noticed that the bbq food was left on the plates so we wouldn't be charged for anything we didn't eat. And the replacement burgers wete actually pretty good. Seems like kitchen just had a bad day, so defo worth a second go!
