Roosters in Kirklees

I was up in town yesterday (17 October) for a quick lunch break and decided to pop up and get some food. The roosters menu is pretty limited, there was no queue though (about 13:00). I choice chicken wings, halloumi bites and a bottle of water. The cook came and advised me that I may aswell get a chicken meal as its the same price but I'll get some chips ... cool :D Took 6 or 7 minutes ish to get my order, I wasn't bothered about the wait as I was able to sit down and just chill. So the food... WOW Chips first off, were not just deep fried potatos they had a weird crumbly texture to them, crispy and soft inside. It's good to see chips done that bit different. Chicken wings - the seasoning on these may not appeal to everyone as I am sure I could taste the hint of may anchovies, or I had a bbq sauce on mine so it could have been a fish sauce. They were cooked very well, a nice crisp bite and well cook, moist chicken. The BBQ sauce wasn't just some run of the mill heinz bbq it was closer to a sweet and sour style bbq sauce and accompanied the chicken wings perfectly. The Halloumi, were small little fried pieces of halloumi, they may have had some seasoning on but this was subtle and these were very moreish. I also was served a small pot of a kind of chilli/pepper jam. WOW I need a bottle of this!! It was perfect with the chicken, chips, bites just needed more off it! All in all a nice meal, not sure what its like at rush hour but if you find a nice quiet time, food is made to order, staff are friendly and service is A++

From what I understand this place has just recently closed and it is such a shame because the food was great. Just let down by lazy service. For a chicken burger place their food tasted unique and nothing like anything else. The bread and chicken was delicious. My only complaint was the gravy which was like far too strong like marmite. Please come back! I miss the chicken goodness!

This must be the worst staffed place I have ever been to!! Over dried chicken and cold chips stay away truly waste of ££ for what you pay stick to KFC

I had to wait an obscene amount of time for my order to be put in front of me. Approximately 30mins, which is disgusting for a fast food establishment. It was as if the staff were surprised that they had customers and they couldn't keep track of orders and had to keep asking customers what they had ordered. I didn't even get a receipt so had no way of proving I had any food waiting for me at all. Customers who placed orders ten minutes after me got their orders before I got mine. When my food finally arrived my chips were cold, I can only assume they prepped them 30minutes ago when I first ordered. The bacon inside the burger was absolutely disgusting, I couldn't even describe it as bacon. It was grey/Green in colour, in chopped up tiny little pieces like beef jerky or something, in fact, beef jerky would have been better and I can't stand beef jerky! I wouldn't go back here if I was starving to death.

So I ordered a boneless meal which was supposed to include 3 mini strips and 4 bites, and sweetcorn, however when it arrived it came with no strips and 1 chicken leg and 3 bites and no sweetcorn. Instantly I took it back and said it was the wrong order then they said no it's the right order however they could only give me coleslaw instead of sweetcorn, as I dislike coleslaw I refused this offer. 5 minutes later the chef came out and was very rude and said they were understaffed and therefore had no time to cook my actual order so instead gave me anything they could find. I then asked for a refund and the chef just walked off then came back with a piece of sweetcorn put it down then walked off, when questioned about the mini strips that I had paid for but not received the chef just walked off. In the end I left and ate somewhere else however I was not offered a refund. All in all avoid this place at all costs and just eat at Burger King which is next door.

Decidimos probar este en vez de Burger King. Después de esperar 5 minutos para mostrar sus caras, nos recibió una mujer con labios púrpura brillante, aunque en ese no era el problema, pero su uniforme de arriba claramente necesitaban un buen lavado. Tras ordenar una hamburguesa, 2 piezas de pollo y patatas fritas, que esperaba que estuviera bien. Las patatas fritas estaban secos y casi ningún pollo. Nos hubiera quejado, pero el personal no parecía como si les dan un monos. Además de los aseos en el complejo estaban sucias. Nos dijeron que la otra tienda de comida saludable al lado de gallos a la izquierda. Creo que se llama bueno. Empezamos a comer y llegó marchando a la novia preguntar exactamente lo's up porque había hablado ahora hasta el de la limpieza. Debido a que no ha sido tan sensible al hecho de que estábamos comiendo, respondí su es sxxt en la cuenca de los aseos. Que era. Se miraban. En la mayoría del tiempo. Si vas a comer en el packhorse, apegarse a BK, Greggs merrie Inglaterra. oFotos ATT,
