Cosy restaurant. All staff friendly. welcoming and very attentative but not over the top. Treated us as though we were regular visitors .Lovely that its a family run restaurant. I have a nut and almond allergy and fully trusted the owners advice and support. This was our first visit but this will now be somewhere we visit regularly.

First time here and wow amazing customer service really looked after us and our kids!! Would deffo come back whenever we want a curry. The food was delicious but the customer service made it for me 100% recommend this family restaurant!! ❤️❤️

Awful place . Who ever says this is good indian cooking. Well im lost for words. Less than mediocre. I had to leave my so called chicken jalfrezi. I've had better out of a jar. The service was abysmal. After just about having the cutlery chucked on the table I was ready for walking out. I now wish I had. Never ever again!

Best Indian i’ve visited in a long time , I had a Chicken Tikka starter that was cooked to perfection tender and full of flavour , Main course Chicken Tikka Vindaloo was of the same standard the texture and taste of the sauce was superb, Other family members commented on how great their meals were too. Friendly professional staff who looked after us from arriving to leaving . Anyone that loves Indian food needs to visit this place it’s a real Gem 💎

My second time here in a large group... absolutely amazing food, staff can't do enough for you . Although they were short staffed and kept apologising for our wait which to be honest to get 12 meals out, there was nothing to apologise for!! The owner came out to make sure everyone was happy with their food as he'd had been cooking. We had a great time. Will definitely keep coming back !!

I recently had the pleasure of dining at Saffron Lounge, High Green for my Mum’s 80th Birthday and it exceeded all expectations. From the moment we walked in, the warm and inviting ambiance set the tone for a memorable evening. The service was impeccable. The Staff are not only attentive and knowledgeable about the menu but also genuinely friendly, making excellent recommendations based on our preferences. Each dish arrived promptly, and the staff made sure we were comfortable and well taken care of throughout the meal. Now, onto the highlight—the food. Every dish was bursting with authentic flavours, crafted with care and attention to detail. The Lamb Rogan Josh (recommended by Sal) was outstanding — it had a delightful balance of aromatic spices and tender Lamb, while the garlic naan was fresh and fluffy, perfect for soaking up the sauces. Every dish felt like a celebration of Indian cuisine, with generous portions and a beautiful presentation. The Birthday Cake that the staff presented to my Mum was the icing on the cake (so to speak) and a lovely surprise for Mum. In summary, Saffron Lounge is a must-visit for anyone seeking authentic Indian food paired with top-notch service. I figured I’d give this place a try. Guy was lovely who I spoke to over the phone. He said 45/50 minutes. And it turned up in 40. Really can’t complain at all with the service. And the food was top notch too, decent portions for a really good price. Will definitely come here again and I really would recommend.

22/11/25 went with family. Staff genuinely friendly, and attentive. Great food lamb chop starters and onion bargies really good. Chef’s specials really tasty. Good value not overpriced. Will definitely go back when we visit family. Daughter recommended it and she was spot on 👍

Lovely family run restaurant with a relaxed setting.

This is by far, the best Indian restaurant in Sheffield. We’ve tried the rest, now try the best. Everything at the Saffron Lounge exceeds our expectations. This was our fifth visit and each time it gets better. Superb food, great atmosphere and service that is rare to find. You’ll come as a customer and leave as a friend.

We really enjoyed Saffron Lounge - our server recommended a dish called Chicken Rezalla which was delicious and not something we would have normally ordered. The wait staff were very attentive and friendly. Great experience!

Recommended so visited on a quiet Monday night(only reason we gave 4 for atmosphere). Very welcoming owner (knowledgable and funny), lovely service and excellent food. Started with poppadums and pickle tray of 6 types rather than the standard 3, then crispy onion bhajis and tender lamb chops-manager suggested these and they were amazing. Side salads were fresh and pickle tray was left on the table, another positive. Our mains were just as good. Lamb pasanda cooked the traditional way with almonds and a chef special lamb dish (zaara I think) both had the same tender lamb and were full of flavour. Will definitely be going again and will recommend to everyone. Big smile 😃

We had a fantastic evening at Saffron Lounge. From the moment we arrived, the welcome was warm and genuine. Saleem, the grandfather of the team, greeted us like family, and we also met his son, Abdul, Mo, and several other team members whose names I wish I could remember. Every one of them was friendly and attentive. The food was outstanding, with rich, authentic flavors, and the service was smooth and effortless. The atmosphere was lively, warm, and inviting—everyone looked genuinely happy, which made for a wonderful dining experience. We came as a group of four adults, along with our 6-month-old daughter, Atlas. Saleem confidently held her, spoke to her, and made her a part of the evening in such a natural way. Different staff members would engage with her, making us feel truly welcome. Atlas was relaxed and happy in his arms, which added to the feeling that we were somewhere special. We’d chosen Saffron Lounge as a convenient halfway point between Barnsley and Huddersfield, hoping for a good meal, and we found so much more than that. We’ll definitely be back!

Well what a fabulous place, everything was perfect, the staff are so friendly, attentive, nothing is too much trouble, 7 of us all had a great time, not one criticism, well done, I will be back. I can't seem to write another review, so I'll so it here, 5 star again, had the Rogan Josh, just wow, the best I've ever had, highly recommend that, can't fault this place at all.

I can not recommend saffron lounge enough. First of all the staff are fantastic and extremely friendly and brilliant with the kids. The atmosphere is very relaxed as if you were in your own home comforts. The food is out of this world. The best curry I have ever tasted the flavours are next level. I have been a handful of times now and tried different dishes and all were beautiful. You will not be disappointed Thankyou salim for a wonderful night.

Can't recommend saffron enough, the food is amazing!!! The staff are the nicest people you will meet they can't do enough for you to make you feel welcome which you don't find very often these day. They go above and beyond for you. Definitely the nicest curry house in sheffield and we definitely would recommend to anyone wanting a takeaway or a sit down meal they cater for everyone even when we go with our children they make them feel so welcome wouldn't go anywhere else.

We arrived on the off chance that we could dine there and although they were fully booked they did their utmost to accommodate us and make us feel welcome. After numerous attempts of finding a nice takeaway curry, I came across Saffron Lounge through recommendation tonight (14.09.24). Safe to say it successfully satisfied my craving for a nice curry. Ordered a few curries for the family and everybody thoroughly enjoyed them plus all the sundries! Couldn’t recommend enough 10/10.

Visiting the area so googled takeaways nearby and this place came out top of the reviews. It did not disappoint. The staff were lovely when we walked in, very welcoming and chatty. Our takeaway order was ready within 20 minutes. It was still really hot when we got back to our hotel and the taste was delicious! The spice level was just as we had asked for. If we ever visit the area again we will be sure to book a table instead of takeout

Very friendly and welcoming, we made a late booking for 2 on a Friday evening and they accommodated us with no problems at all. The food is excellent, perfect portions, the owner greets and talks to everyone including those who have a takeaway, no matter how busy they are. This is our 4th visit and every visit is just as good as the last.

We had a fantastic meal here and received a high level of service from Abdul and his team. They even accommodated a pram which we forgot to mention on the booking so we were extremely grateful. The food was excellent and you could tell it was freshly prepared, even receiving one of the best pickle trays I’ve ever had. This is now our new local curry house and we can’t wait to go back!

We just drop on this lovely restaurant after drop our daughter and boyfriend off at friend in Sheffield. We stop and asked if they could fit us in as it was last minute. Fabulous. My family went for a meal to celebrate our parents wedding anniversary. Everyone enjoyed their meals even the picky people. The food was fresh and hot and very tasty (There were 12 of us). Just discovered this place and it's become our favourite Indian. Food is generous and lovely, staff are absolutely great, and prices considerably cheaper than other places like Akbars, which seems to have suddenly hiked. It's family run, and on our second visit it felt like we were in the family. Can get a bit noisy at busy times - maybe some soft furnishings would help.

This was the best Indian we have had in ages. The host was a complete gentleman and lovely as he couldn't do enough for us. We will definitely be going here again.

Had an amazing first visit to Saffron lounge, a late call was made to secure a table of seven, we didn’t think they would be able to accommodate but they did and we weren’t disappointed. From arrival all staff were very helpful and friendly, the food was amazing and service exceptional. We were also celebrating a birthday and they made a fuss of this singing happy birthday and a drink for the birthday girl! 🍹will definitely be visiting again and would highly recommend.

Amazing! I’ve been to this take away for years, never a bad meal. They opened the restaurant and again, never a bad meal! I recently had a baby with allergies and I’m feeding her so needed to change my diet. I went in to check what, if anything I could still eat. They went through everything that was safe for me to eat and amended some dishes to make them available to me whilst avoiding the allergens! I was dreading changing my diet cos I thought it was going to be stressful but these guys made my life much easier. Baby has been fine with no allergy issues, showing how much care they’re taking when preparing and cooking my food. I’m so grateful I didn’t have to give my fave food up! 😅

This is the 3rd time we have ordered from here. The first time we collected our order, the second time we had it delivered with no issues. This third time has been an absolute joke! Placed the order at 6:20pm and was advised it would be 1 hour. The man on the phone was mishearing everything I said and I repeated my address and telephone number over and over again. He eventually read everything back to me and I was happy everything was right. Fast forward 1hour and 30 minutes and I called the restaurant back for an update. I was spoken to in a very rude manner by somebody on the phone who basically told me (in a raised voice) my postcode was wrong (it obviously is not, I know my own address, and they have delivered here before with no issues) and that I’d given them a wrong number? I did not appreciate the way I was being spoken to at all and felt uncomfortable so I put my partner on the phone who was spoken to in a much better manner. He corrected the phone number they’d clearly written down wrong and confirmed the address, they said they would re-deliver in 15-20 minutes. We called back again after this time when the food still hadn’t been delivered and was told our order was out for delivery. Somebody called just after this to say he was here with our food… in hilsborough! We do not live in hilsborough! They do not listen to the information you give them then try to blame you for it. Will not be ordering again or recommending to anyone, which is a shame as the food is very decent… when you receive it.

Nice atmosphere very nice food and very good service by staff

We booked a table for 16 for a birthday, we was greeted by the owner Abdul on arrival who made us feel welcomed, upon sitting staff was there to get us drinks. A few of us wasn't sure on what to have so Abdual helped and recommended some dishes. Food was to gorgeous and all tasted freshly made. We ordered a couple of kids nuggets, obviously they wanted ketchup so one of girls ran across road for some. Loved the baby guinesses. Reasonable priced if you haven't tried thos little gem you are definitely missing out.
