Really tasty food, and great service. Best lightly battered fish in Chorley.

Order took 1hr 15 mins to come food luke warm at best, soggy fish and black chips. I used to love this chippy but last few deliveries have been awful. Customer service awful too. Won't be ordering from here again!

Good value, fresh and generous portions, gets really busy and "canteen like" so recommend pre-noon or after 1.30pm

Consistently good. Had a Large Haddock, Chips, Peas & Curry sauce. Fish was absolutely huge, beautifully cooked & simply delish. Chips, Peas & English curry sauce was absolutley bang on. Good value for two with a nice cup of tea (cups needs to be mugs though as too small ...note to owner 😉). Mrs P had the regular fish but struggled to finish the chips...normally I'd 'step in' but I was stuffed as well.!!!. In the words of Arnie...we'll be back.!. Seriously Tasty food in a very clean & pleasant environment. Well worth a visit & 5 ***** all day long.

I have been to this chip shop on numerous occasions and have always had a good experience. That was up until my last visit. The food was very average and they completely forgot one of the meals I ordered. It was only when I got home that we noticed they had not put it in. I rang to ask could they rectify their mistakes and kindly deliver the missing meal which was my son's tea. At first they asked for my address but then changed theirind and said they were closing and everything was turned off and that I could come and get a refund. I was not particularly happy with that, but they then just put the phone down on me. Extremely poor customer service and even when I went in today to claim my refund, the arrogant and rude person I spoke to on the phone who had done the original order was still very rude and arrogant. A female member of staff who was clearly embarrassed by his behaviour sorted out my refund and apologised. We will not be using this chip shop again

Very busy cafe, on market day (Tuesday) but only had to wait about 10.min for meal ,very tasty steak and kidney pud, actually had lumps of meat in, long time since I've had that.recommend

Was recommended to visit here. Not sure why. Food was ok, service was poor. Waited over 20 minutes for my food to be brought on a quiet evening. Not the cleanest place. A lot of delivery drivers came in, maybe they are what the place concentrates on. Not for me.

First time visitor to this chip shop today. A large eat in/Takeaway. Payment is accepted by cash/card. Friendly staff, orders are freshly cooked. Waiting time is relatively short and served to the table. Toilets are available to the rear of the cafe. The food was great quality and could not be faulted. They apparently have a sister chip shop several miles away in Leyland called the Cross chip shop, where food is equally as good. The Chorley shop is on the high street, heading out towards Pall Mall. Cafe windows look out onto the street, where you can sit and watch many passers-by whilst eating. Access would be suitable for anyone with a disability as the shop is all based on the ground floor, with wide door access. For anyone who likes chip shop food, I would definitely recommend this place...and to tempt you further .. before 3pm they have a lunchtime offer, involving steak pudding, chips, peas, gravy and a hot/cold drink for £4.50...what is there not to like!!

I thought the take away fish & chips were better than the eat in. The eat-in, the chips were dry and not very nice. The takeaway ones were more freshly done, that nay have been on account of a busy period . They do a good deal on the snall fish, chips & peas for the not so hungry. The large haddock with curry sauce that I had recently (take away) was very nice though, also a fair price.

Poor. Beef burger was as dry as Gandhi's flip flop, resembled the cheap type that you just throw in the microwave and reheat. Chips weren't really very nice.. everybody knows that if possible you should use Maris Piper potatoes for chips. Ended up throwing away 2/3 of the chips because they just weren't nice really.. Ordered a double burger and the message was passed to the guy at the back who got it wrong.. and just cooked one. Second one was done in the matter of a couple of minutes so not freshly made and like I say just looked completely unappetising. Girls on the front counter were friendly.. that's about the only positive. Won't be going back in a hurry...

Ordered 2 fish and chips to takeaway lightly battered on getting home found both fish to be very small overcooked and very thin with little fish in the batter. I have been back to complain complete indifference from the staff was told the owner was unavailable and to come back 6 hours later. Will not be going back

Been here a few times always really good food but my last visit with my two grandaughters but I was very disappointed with food this time. Asked for small portion of chips but portion was way to much and chips were look warm as if warmed up left over chips. Wont be going again for a while.

Did an order on uber eats for delivery I ordered a small fish chios and side box meal and asked for the fish to be wrapped separately, which in my opinion isnt that much of a hassle to do. As well as ordering some other stuff. The reason I asked for fish to be wrapped separately is because I hate soggy batter on my fish it completely ruins the dish. Any how it was delivered and my wishes of it being wrapped separately where dashed it was put in a cardboard box ontop of the chips in a plastic bag. Which everyone knows it makes your fish go soggy. I rang up to ask about this and was met with the rudest snotty young girl on the other end. Who was telli g me they don't wrap fosh separately as its a box meal. I argued it a case of just wrapping the fish in some paper . But she continued to be arrogant and rude. So when i asked asked the manager she put the phone down. Not an experience you would expect especially when im giving them my custom. not happy at all with the fish and how i was treated on the call.

A fabulous eat-in chippy in the town centre. Our food was served piping hot and delicious. The place was spotlessly clean and the staff friendly and helpful. Great value too. I’ll be back! Thank you

I went at the busiest possible time, 5-6pm as did a lot of others. It's easy to see why..plenty of staff, wholesome chip shop menu, reasonable prices. LOTS of seating and tables. The meal came within 10 minutes, expected at such a time, and served with a smile. I couldn't finish the generous portion of chips and left feeling quite full. There is some limited parking on the front, though most customers appeared to be walk-ins. Take aways were served quite quickly so if you're passing by, parking shouldn't become a problem. I confess when this first opened, with the subsequent demise of the big lamp chippy, I was sceptical but it's proven to be an asset in the town centre. I have no affiliations with this business whatsoever apart from being a satisfied customer. Tom Ashworth.

Just bought 2 x fish and chips and a carton of curry and a carton of mushy peas. I poured the peas over my fish and chips and then went to eat them they smelled burnt and tasted burnt. I rang Seven Seas to inform them. I told the girl on the phone, She said they look fine and that they should be ok because they weren’t even from the bottom of the pan (in other words the bottom of the pan has burned and they have taken the peas off the top). I told her mine looked ok but taste terrible and asked for her to go and taste them and then come back and tell me they taste fine, She went away and came back and said she and her colleague think they taste fine. If this is their response to a genuine complaint then I won’t be going there again. Barbara 16th Jan 2026

Struggling with the flu and wanted a chippy tea. Fair delivery time, I used Just Eat to order. Sausage tasted epic, gravy was bangin. Chips seem rewarmed but they still taste good. Got a fish to take my order up to the required for delivery, not tried it myself yet but my dad nicked a bit and broke a bit off, it's really thick. Dad seemed pleased. Don't regret ordering. Felt a need to put a good review in.

It’s no surprise people order food deliveries from the big chains as trying to support a local small business is pointless when they don’t know what they’re doing. Shoddy and really unprofessional. Ordered and paid but food never arrived. No updates and did not answer phone. An hour after scheduled delivery and still nothing. Taking money with no intention to provide the goods/services ordered is plain dishonest.

I really like this place, the food is good, reasonably priced and straight up old fashioned chippy. I made an order on just eat but it never arrived. There were a number of issues with this altercation but the next day the owner called up to rectify my complaints…and even sent me extra items. Through the conversation I could tell he really cared about his business. I appreciate the due diligence and customer service he made. I respect his above and beyond reproach to solve the problem. I will definitely use this place again

Swift delivery, the fish was huge, fresh with crisp batter. The chips were fluffy and piping hot. Generous serving of everything including the chips, gravy and grated cheese. Perfectly satisfied my craving for a proper chippy tea. Very reasonable price too considering delivery!

Service was terrible, she served, other people first, who came in after us, and she struggled to tell us were the cutlery was, made it quite plain to us we wasn't welcome, even though it is the first time we have ever been in there, and part of our food was cold, don't think we will be going again, if this is the way she treats disabled people then she is in the wrong job.

It was my first ever trip to this delightful fish and chip shop, I was there for the fish and chip plus mushy peas and a pot of tea lunch time special £4.90...The moment I was meet at the counter from a very positive young lady called Janine (forgive me if I have spelt it wrong) the order was taken quicky with no fuss but just the right amount of banter, I went to clean table and waited.. OMG.. I did not have to wait for long before it was brought to the table (waitress service).. afterwards I was full, perfect for a lunch time treat ... seriously thanks so much, it made my day. Ordered fish chips and peas the fish was so small it was lost in a plate of hard batter and over cooked the chips was so pale and hard it was really unpleasant this is the third time visiting this place so in future I will drive past hope other people do Very disgusting

Old school chippy - kind of like they were in the 70s and 80s but with much better health and safety awareness - offers a full, traditional chip shop menu (a range of fish, pies, sausages, chicken, haggis and black pudding, peas, gravy and curry, condiments and cans of pop) and doesn’t bother with much else. The chips are great, the fish white and flakey, and the batter crispy. Portions are huge and they don’t ever put the fish on top of the chips. It all tastes great. The dining area is massive, clean and well-maintained, the frying area is visible, and the atmosphere, although reasonably basic, is friendly and appropriate. The staff are lovely. Large fish, large chips, mushy peas and a can of pop for £12. Very nice indeed.

Absolutely shocking place, have ordered takeaway quite regularly, first time I’ve had the opportunity to sit in, ordered 2 chicken nuggets and chip’s for the children and steak pie, chips and gravy and a cup of tea. Little girls wanted fruit shoots, unfortunately they don’t sell them so kids picked a orange substitute which unfortunately turned out to be fizzy which one the girls wouldn’t drink, food came but no cup of tea, had to go back and join the queue to ask for my cup of tea, server behind the counter asked me what I needed, advised the lady in the wheelchair was in front of me, tried to get a bottle of water for my girl and also request my cup of tea when it was my turn to be served, advised minimum spend on card of £1 so could not purchase water, no cash on me unfortunately, ended up leaving shortly afterwards with most of the food left, who can eat food without a drink, politely advised the other server that I would never spend a penny in their establishment ever again to which the other server piped up what just because of a cup of tea, worst experience of customer service in my life and 100% I will never be contributing to any off their wages or business ever again

Awful experience. Email received to say food was ready followed by notification to say the food had been delivered. Telephoned 15 minutes later to say nothing received and was told order had been despatched and would be with us in 2 minutes. Telephoned again 20 minutes later - no apology and just advised food was still with the driver. Informed that we no longer wanted the order as it had been ready for over an hour it would band not be fresh and will have gone cold. Refused to apply refund. I will be taking this further. Rubbish service.

One of our go to chip shops. We always visit when we are in Chorley. Two fish and chips with drinks for less than £10 to eat in is excellent value. Probably the only restaurant where I hope they put the price up as I want them to keep going!

Disappointing Experience I recently visited this fish and chips restaurant and was thoroughly disappointed. The chips were stale, lacking the expected crispiness, and the fish turned out to be mostly fried batter with very little actual meat. To make matters worse, I experienced a stomachache and felt sick a few hours later. The overall dining experience was unpleasant, with lackluster ambiance and inattentive staff. I cannot recommend this restaurant to anyone looking for a satisfying fish and chips meal.

Lovely Chippy with fantastic prices. Everybody in the office now has at least one chippy dinner each week. The restaurant has a large seating area, which is fantastically clean and brightly coloured - themed perhaps somewhat unsurprisingly to the sea 😂 Staff are very friendly.. fast to take your order, everything at least from what I can see is done fresh to order, at least as far as the fish is concerned 🐟 Highly recommended for a fast cheap lunch 😋

Food was cold and soggy. One meal was missing, on contacting the shop I was made out to be a lyer, saying that I hadn't ordered . Then having her but the phone down on me. I had proof of the order as i ordered and paid through there site plus bank statement . So I was then told a driver will bring the missing meal when they can but we had already shared what we had between us all. So to get a refund I was told to then go on live chat through the Web site. Spoke to someone on live chat several times on diffenrt days to be told they had contacted the restaurant and been advised the manager is not there at the moment and to contact again the next day. This continued for 3 days then I just give it up as a bad joke. Terrible costmer service from the shop. Definitely wont be ordering from here again. Browns (Parker Street) all the way for this family from now on

Whoever fried our fish at 16.20 today 16th December needs retraining on frying at the right temp,overdone on the outside and oozing oil.The batter not cooked on the inside.The chips were good though.

delivery took over 2hours for 2x fish and chips to come with £3 delivery and I'm 1mile away.

Placed an order via Chorley eats at 17:00, called at 18:00 was told food was ready and would be delivered shortly. Rang again at 19:00 and was told all deliveries were done and the phone was put down… no food at £20 out of pocket.

Absolutely splendiferous this place. don’t be put off by the “hour long delivery time”, they’re so humble they forgot mentioning that they actually drive down to the coast, jump on a boat and catch the fish per order! Yes, 1 at a time! absolutely brilliant fishery. these guys need renaming to the humble chippy. the sheer effort these fellas go to just to ensure freshly caught north sea fish is simply marvellous. they should be the highest paid workers in the world let along england. 10/10

We go hear mostly every Tuesday for dinner, as it's chorley market day, very clean and tidy staff are very good and freindly, plenty of tables 22 to be exact, meals are exerlent and you get a good portion, and it's very good value for the price, YOU'LL FIND IT ON MARKET STREET

Absolutely poor service. Ordered a few items from the restaurant. Fish and chips where missing. Phoned the restaurant who stated they would send out the missing items and stated it would be 20 minutes. Then after 1 hour of waiting I phoned back they stated they checked their CCTV to see if they packed it. Apparently they did, which is total lies, so where is my missing fish and chips? The person who answered the phone "apparently the manager" would not let me have her name and she put the phone down on me. Anybody truthful would not behave in this manner. Do not order!!! customer service is awful and they tell lies to try and cover up. Still no fish and chips disgusting service. Attached photo - Everything on the receipt ticked but my MISSING fish and chips!!!!! Shows they missed it off. Liars. Checked CCTV what utter rubbish.

I always, love coming here for a cheeky chippy. The prices are amazingly cheap as CHIPS deffo is warranted here! I have been here quite a few times. The quality is amazing also.

Where to start. Rude staff. Poor system. Food sitting sweating for over an hour before you get it. Ordered at 7 got here at almost quarter to nine. If youve had a long shift snd think this is a better option, do yourself a favour, save your money and don't bother. No apologies even you call to complain. Just a running commentary of how everything works.....or not ...as is the case here. Top tip, i dont need another job do dont bother giving me the manual. Food was almost cold. Chips had been sweating do long they were just a greasy mass and had to be thrown away. Chicken nuggets and fish were both just tepid and had to be warmed up. Waste of time, energy and money. Go elsewhere and avoid. HVing since read some of these other reviews I wish I hadn't bothered at all. They get 1 star because you can't give 0.

Went in on a sunday an hour before they close and were not allowed to sit in for a meal. Had to have takeaway instead. When we got home we we were a fish short . Called the shop and straight away they said we have forgotten one of your fish, it was too late to go back so was told when we are in next they would take it off the bill. Went in a week later.and the staff denied any knowledge of it. Told to go back in the week to see the manager. Its just a con. Short change the orders and hope customers dont come back. Fish wasnt that good only went back cause they owed us something. There are far better chip shops in chorley so wont be going back. Had to put one point to make the review

Absolutely awful only ordered a portion of chips . Asked for more vineger to help with the taste . Even the vinegar didn't taste of vinegar. Used the loo whist there ... what do I say ... should have taken a picture. Only have a disabled toilet with a jug to flush the loo.... and the kitchen looked dirty and I'm being kind ... we took our food back and left it on the counter. How this is staying open is crazy . .

Unnecessary anger towards teenagers! Delivery guy came up the road pomping his horn on a horse yard with horses sensitive to loud noises which is unacceptable. Also then began to complain about the road to which it is literally their job to deliver so complaining was not necessary at all when they paid for doing so. Will not be ordering again!

Been to the branch in Leyland few years ago and it was great. Since they opened in Chorley I've heard they've dropped down in terms of quality since then. So I payed a visit to the Chorley branch to satisfy my cravings, I got a regular fish and chips. The fish was so narrow and skinny I felt like I got a small for the price I payed for a regular, not only that but the batter was probably the worst I've ever had. Very thin batter which was soggy and wet, and the fish had a fishier smell to it which wasn't the best. As for the chips I thought you couldn't go wrong but the chips they just weren't good enough, after a bite I'd just get bored even though it had salt and vinger on, it was very bland wasn't enjoyable to eat. Definitely better chippies out there

Had dinner with my dad, the food was hot and tastey and plenty of it. Annie brought our meals to our table and she was impeccably polite, cheery and we had a laugh with her she really made us feel welcomed. We are definitely sold on this place and we can't wait to come back. My dad lives in Chorley and I think this is now our new meeting up place.

Their food is delicious better than Skippers and Browns. However, some things are spelled wrong in the menu and the wait is about 10 minutes after 6. I recommend getting extra help! Other than that it was perfect
