Came during weekdays and it was so cosy and peaceful. The pork knuckle was dreamy...

The location is easy to find, just near the British Museum. Come and enjoy the warm wonton stew in winter. It’s so beautiful.

The sweet and sour chicken with rice (£16) tasted just as expected, though portion was a bit small for the price. Service was incredibly fast and attentive. Good spot for lunch in the area.

Braised Pork, forever comfort food

Shanghainese food is particularly delicious, with fresh and sweet taste. The pork ribs, rice cakes, braised pork, and pan-fried buns are all very delicious! The pork ribs rice cake is crispy and the pan-fried bun has a thin crispy bottom.

It's delicious, especially the fried rice cake with crab and sweet-scented osmanthus, which are very authentic.

A very delicious Shanghainese dish. The marinated soup was so delicious that the children drank a big bowl. The braised pig's trotters sauce was very fragrant and went well with rice, and there was no fishy smell. Squirrel seabass is also very popular among foreigners. The boss's service is warm and friendly to the max.

Braised pork was very authentic, especially compared to other Chinese restaurants that I have tried in London, would highly recommend this dish! There was a wide variety of dishes on the menu for people to choose from. Waitresses were also very friendly and patient.

There are many kinds of dishes, including Jiangsu, Zhejiang and Shanghai cuisine that I haven’t eaten in a long time, as well as Sichuan cuisine from other regions, etc. I ordered black pepper beef tenderloin rice cake cubes and braised pork knuckles, both of which were delicious. The fried thumb was also very fragrant and fresh. I will order it next time. Will come to try other dishes~

I really like the food. The Huntun soup is tasty. The xiaolongbao is great, but the dough is a bit too thick, in my opinion. The service is friendly. I find the atmosphere elementary. But it's not cheap - a plate of bok choy costs £15!

As a Shanghai native, I'm thrilled to find this authentic Shanghai restaurant! Their menu covers lots of shanghai dish with attention to detail (by using authentic ingredient) plus sichuan and other cuisine. I ordered yan di xian, which brought me wonderful childhood memories when my grandparents used to cook for me in winter. The staff are friendly and attentive as well. As a Shanghainese, I like this restaurant very much. Just looking at the menu, you can tell it's authentic. On this cold winter day, I ate pickled vegetables.

Dahu Renjia is a Shanghainese restaurant that makes people forget to leave! The location is very convenient near the British Museum (40 New Oxford St, London WC1A 1EP). The dishes are exquisite and authentic, especially the sweet and sour pork ribs and hand-shredded cabbage, which taste great. The restaurant has a warm environment and friendly service staff! Highly recommended to all friends who want to taste Chinese food!

There are some good dishes (the braised pork belly is not bad), but most dishes are just alright. Very pricy for the abysmal portion sizes, and service can be very slow (and practically non-present) if they’re expecting groups. It’s acceptable if you REALLY crave for Chinese food, otherwise you might wanna look elsewhere.

It was a good dining experience. Recommend to come before watching a show in nearby theatres.

I saw it nearby on Xiaohongshu. It’s too cold in the UK and I want to eat something hot. The bowl of fermented glutinous rice dumplings was very Shanghainese, and my stomach instantly felt warm. The taste of the restaurant is good, comparable to that in China, but there needs to be less salt.

Great place to dine with a convenient location near Tottenham court road underground station. Authentic cuisine from Shanghai and the neighbouring areas. I highly recommend xiaolongbao and the squirrel-shaped fried fish. There are also loads of vegetarian options. The restaurant is spacious with a good atmosphere and the bill is reasonable with £20-£30 per person.
