Signature Viceroy in South Somerset

I have eaten at Viceroy several times now.. alone, with my partner and also with friends, and I’m really impressed with the flavours, quantities and the well-mannered staff. These guys offer seriously tasty dishes, which unlike many restaurants, all have clear and unique flavours; these have been of consistent quality on every visit, and they’ve easily become my go-to Indian restaurant. Really delicious! Recommended!! 👍🏻

My wife and I booked late afternoon for Friday evening and recieved confirmations within the hour of our reservations, despite this being during closed hours for the restaurant. On arrival restaurant was very clean with plush seats and unusual cutlery. The menu is varied and contains some items we had not tried before. Curry is served in modern rimmed bowls and rice etc separately. Our views were mixed on this. I liked the fine dining aspect of this but my wife prefers to have an empty plate and serve herself. Whichever way, the food was excellent, hot, tasty and not watery. Meat curries contained lots of meat and not just onion and peppers to bulk it out. Service was attentive and when it was noted we were not eating the saag paneer, we were not overly keen on this version, it was whisked away and replaced by a much better take on the dish. Could not fault it. Right in the centre and literally 2 mins from the Premiere Inn. Kerp up the good work. Would deffinately return if in Yeovil.

While travelling around the UK, I always look for a good Indian, found this on trip advisor and wasn’t disappointed one bit, such a great restaurant, excellent staff, food was brilliant and extremely well priced, definitely fully recommend, thank you for a wonderful experience

We’ve had takeaway from Viceroy on several occasions and would highly recommend. The food is always hot and fresh, the staff are extremely helpful and polite, especially Rubel who is always happy to recommend new dishes. The best Indian food in the area.

Excellent meal accompanied by a friendly and diligent team.Well worth a visit if you're local or passing through the area.

Really pleased with the quality, flavour and quantity of our takeaway. I've had hundreds of meals from Indian restaurants over the years but this is without doubt the best I have had. Really impressive meal. I don't hesitate to recommend this first class restaurant. Long may it continue. Well done to all at Viceroy.

Fabulous food, massive choice, Bangladesh beer makes a great accompaniment, but do be careful with checking the bill.

So disorganised. Crap service. Orders wrong drinks. Didn't know how many people were here, three times had to confirm. Dragging of tables Shocking Shame as were regulars.

Meal tasted fantastic. Went with a party of 28. We did prebook our meals, all meals arrived very quickly and together. Restaurant also has upstairs to eat as well.

Estaba muy contento con mi comida en el Signature Viceroy. La comida fue absolutamente deliciosa, el personal es muy servicial y amable, el lugar estaba muy limpio y el ambiente hermoso. No se puede pedir más. Sin duda volveré y recomendaría el restaurante a otros : -D

Had dinner there today, here visiting Yeovil on business, the staff were very friendly and the food was very reasonably priced but the taste was amazing. Had the North Indian Garlic Chili Chicken lots of heat and intense flavours.

El servicio y la comida era muy buena, aunque nos dio la sensación de que estábamos ninguna prisa porque era un viernes había una multitud que no habíamos reservado (ya que teníamos) y queríamos comer tan pronto como sea posible. Se trata de conseguir que pidas más de lo necesario por lo que por favor sea consciente de esto.

We also come to Signature Viceroy for special occasions and are never dissapointed. The staff are friendly and attentive. The atmosphere is always welcoming. The food is beautiful. Highly recommended.

Lovely food served in an establishment that is a bit smarter in appearance than the average Indian restaurant.

... visitado muchas veces y no tengo ninguna queja hasta ahora. Somos muy afortunados de tener un fantástico lugar en nuestra zona. El personal es siempre muy amable y acogedor, y la comida es simplemente deliciosa. Cuando visite en mi cumpleaños con unos cuantos amigos, el personal nos fuimos a esfuerzos adicionales para hacernos sentir bienvenidos y hasta me dio una bebida gratis con mi comida. No me puedo quejar de este lugar, bien hecho Viceroy y mantener el buen trabajo.

Mi esposa y yo comimos aquí esta noche y quedamos gratamente sorprendidas. No habíamos hecho la reserva pero nos hicieron sentir bienvenidos y nos sentamos con prontitud. El personal era muy amable y atento. Mi esposa tenía el pollo Tamarind que venía con arroz pilau. Comí pollo Xakuti, arroz vino extra. Tuvimos un pan de cebolla bhaji y un pan de ajo como acompañamientos. Las comidas eran muy sabrosa y bien preparada con ingredientes frescos. El pan estaba recién hecho y rústico, no como el avance Teardrop gubbins normalmente preparó. El bhaji es también estaban muy buenos. Le hubiera dado 5 estrellas pero nos parecía haber sido cargados por los chutneys que acompañaban a los entrantes poppadom. Este es normalmente gratis a lo mejor de mi conocimiento

It appears that this restaurant has changed hands and gone down hill into the bargain. It was the best Indian restaurant in miles, but we got there at 1.15 pm for lunch yesterday and were hurried into ordering because they were closing at 2.00 pm. We were asked to order drinks and mains at the same time because of the time constraints.£33 for two main courses with orange juice is not cheap, and we were rushed through our meal. The quality was not as good as previously. I have been informed that the chefs from the old Viceroy went during the changeover. It shows in the finished product. I doubt we will go there again.

Always a delightful welcome and attentive service from the staff, the food is excellent and the menu is a little out of the ordinary with a range of speciality dishes (although I haven't worked my way through the whole of the menu yet). The restaurant is smart, clean and has a very good atmosphere. Not cheap, but very good value for money and an overall excellent experience.

Having travelling around the world and been to many many world cuisines from toch notch restaurants to bog standard curry houses I know my food very well.This place definately lacks the taste And also the flavours.Our food arrived in good time but the flavour was not there.However the plating and decoration was up to the marks but this does not justify the standard of dish if it does not taste good.I have been to their chain restaurant in bath the mint room And I have to say the same all average food with good plating and decorating skills.although I should be putting a review separately for the establishment.Coming back to this restaurant The staff were friendly.The prices are also extortionate.If you are looking for an Indian restaurant to dine in with no flavour but plating and decorating skills then this is the place.However there are plenty more Indian cuisines in this town.Overall I will rate this restaurant below average

If you want something that is not your run of the meal Indian this is somewhere to try. Lots of unusual dishes on the menu mild to hot. All beautifully presented and taste lovely. The surroundings are something more than some standard Indian restaurants and the staff make you feel special. A nice touch is them placing our napkins on our laps. The staff are very friendly and give advice on the menu so you hopefully order something to your tastes. One of our party not too good with spicy food ordered a mild dish which she found too hot ( it wasn't I tried it) staff bought her loads of iced water as requested and a complimentary dessert to calm her mouth. Unfortunately she split some down her front so they let her leave with a white linen napkin pinned to hide the stain. We had a really good evening and staff couldn't have been better. We will return

This place never fails. This time we had some of the Chef's recommendations. I had Gosht Kata Masala, golden brown lamb in sliced onion, ginger, garlic and garam masala and Terri had the special leg of lamb. The sides of sag (spinach), rice and the breads were really fabulous. Thanks Luke, you guys put together another wonderful meal for us!

My wife and I visited the Viceroy Signature having watched The Grand Budapest Hotel at the cinema. We were warmly greeted on our arrival at 7.15pm. The range of menu choices was average, but the recommended meals drew my interest. I opted for the lamb tikka massala balti and a peshwari nan, and my better half opted for a chicken tikka sizzler, rice and a chaana side-dish. We had a couple of pappadums with a selection of pickles for starters. The waitress described each of the pickles, which was unexpected but nonetheless most welcome. The pickles were very good, although the lime pickle was a little oily. The mains arrived, and we were impressed by the portion sizes, which represented very good value for money. The lamb tikka balti I had was excellent . The consistency of the sauce was superb, and the range of flavours divine. The lamb was sweet, tender and very tasty. My wife was very impressed with the chicken tikka sizzler. We will return.

Wonderful food, the waiters are fab and experts at their trade. Keeping us plied with food and drink all evening. No waiting around, a first class service all round and we will be going again very shortly.Whenever we've visited its been a fabulous experience.

Took my mum for a lunchtime meal. She just loved the attentive service and the food was absolutely excellent. Ghoan prawn curry for me that was full of spice and just perfect on the hotness scale! Love this place ... Go there when I visit my Mum in Yeovil. Go ... You will enjoy!

We ate at this restaurant without booking. The service is excellent - polite and very helpful.The food was very good indeed. There is obvious pride taken in the preparation and presentation of the food. It really was delicious. The staff were attentive without being over-present - in fact we were complimented on taking time to eat the meal and savouring the food.I would recommend anyone looking to eat delicious Indian food in Yeovil to visit this restaurant. It is slightly more expensive that one might wish to pay for 'an Indian' but it is certainly worth it!!

The staff at the Signature Viceroy are very welcoming and polite. The table service is prompt. I've visited 3 times over the past 2 months and have had a different dish each time.The table staff are Indian and give inspiration and recommendations on what to eat. Authentic Indian curry is my favourite food and I've eaten at numerous curry restaurants and I know a good curry when I eat one. The food here is absolutely delicious, flavoursome and nicely presented. If you get the chance give this restaurant a go.

Welcoming, great service, excellently prepared and presented food and superbly looked after. I have eaten at the sister Viceroy restaurant before many times but this was my first experience of the Signature Viceroy. I will be returning (to both) in the near future.

Went here on a Saturday evening without booking. Easily got a table, don't know if this is a positive or negative! Service was attentive and just the right speed, and the food was excellent. Recommended.

Have been here twice in the last 6 months and the service and food has been brilliant. Would not hesitate to go again and would definitely recommend it to anyone.

Had a great meal here with a friend. It has a nice atmosphere and a large menu to choose from; you could go regularly and never have the same dish twice. A very pleasant evening, which I plan to repeat
