Smokies BBQ in Chorley

Went at opening time on a Saturday in January, so it was quiet but still a few tables booked.. so the atmosphere was down but meant our food came fast and fresh to order.. Can’t really fault the food at all, was all fresh and you could see the effort that had gone into the preparation.. I had the sharing platter which was only £17.50PP; 3 big ribs, 2 big wings, a large portion of pulled pork & pulled brisket, homemade smoked sausage, fries, ranch beans, coleslaw & a handful of pickles.. If I had one gripe it would be the brisket not being sliced and kept whole but it was still very nice and tender when pulled. You get 3 homemade sauces at the table, Tennessee BBQ, Honey Sriracha & Carolina Mustard… all 3 are superb. The host/owner is very nice welcoming lady with plenty gusto and a great sense of honour.. Will definitely return!

Horrible gyes!!I went there to pick up boneless chicken barbecue with frie and drinks.The gye forgot to put in Ranch saice,long story short,my little girl will not eat without the ranch souce so i got back to the testirant and asked the same gye for a little ranch sauce he forgot to put in,Guess what he went through the pos system to check my order took a while and saw that i was his costumer and tok me the i neat i need to pay 85 C . very ride face . Definitely not kind people.most stingy too.

The food here is some of the best you can get in Chorley and the fries are some of the best I've ever had anywhere. Very satisfying portion sizes. If you're sat there thinking of booking a table or ordering out .. Do it. Treat yourself.

Last minute decision to make the pilgrimage here for tea with a friend. First visited smokies years ago when they were in darwen and it was delicious then. Now it's even more delicious. If your a carnivore this is a place you NEED to visit

Went here before the theatre as a fabulous burger place had moved we tried here. Had booked and arrived before time and entered and just stood whilst the older lady behind the bar barked at the younger server. I don't expect immediate service, but a 'won't be a minute' is usually expected. Ordered food and it was mediocre at best. Dirty fries as a side far better than the food. Never asked once if we were happy with our meal. Which I thought was rude. In any event, didn't have time to go elsewhere due to theatre timings. Overall, felt like we were a burden to staff, heard her being rude to a couple as they started to order food and she told them this was for a drink order. Wow! Never felt welcome, food as stated mediocre, wouldn't return. Could be a nice little place with better staff and nicer food.

Having eaten lots of BBQ in Texas we were wondering how this would compare. The restaurant itself is small, but adds to its charm I guess. The decor could do with some more effort. Due to its size I wouldn’t want to go when it’s busy as I think it would be too noisy and squashy. The food was nice and portions good. It lacked anything special. The day we visited most of the draft beers were out and several of the food options were unavailable. Staff were helpful and friendly. I think it’s slightly pricey for the experience.

Firstly, and I can’t understate this…. The Food was really good! The only issue really was that you buy everything individually. So my smokie stack burger was £14. Then you have to purchase dirty chips separately £6. So for burger and chips £21 , which now makes it expensive. Add a drink on top and a side your looking at £30 per person for one course. Also no children’s menu. I spent £60. No starters or deserts and soft drinks. Realistically if your going out your going to be spending average £100 plus for the full experience for 2. A bit much I think, given I can go for a really good pub grub meal burger, fries and slaw and a nice pint with two adults and one child ( thanks to the kids menu) with either starters or desert for approx £60. Atmosphere was not so great, we sat in the front so with all of those people coming in for their takeaway, And staff stood around chatting, we felt a bit in the way. This may have been a better atmosphere had we been allocated seating elsewhere. Service was, take your order, bring your food. Nothing to write home about, but didn’t help where we were sat as explained earlier. Ow and the table was unstable as well. Had one of those bitty clenching moments when the table nearly collapsed with all the drinks on it, because the edge was lent on. Final note…. This would prob be a really good takeaway for those special occasions. Final final note…. The food really was very very good, so much of the above can be forgiven because of the food experience, we left full. Tip….. order one lot of fries to share. You won’t need one each, they will just go to waste.

My boyfriend and I went to Smokies BBQ this afternoon, we didn't book but luckily the was a free table. The front of house team are fantastic, the food was excellent we throughly enjoyed everything. You can tell everything is made in house 🤤 the atmosphere is lovely and tells you the story of Smokies. Highly recommend you go here,we will definitely be back very soon.

Got in there early and filled up as we were in there. Definitely recommend the burger and macaroni cheese. Good selection of specials too if you want something not on the menu. We'll be back.

Table for 2. Had a munch box for £27 really good value for money for the mountain of food you get. The quality is really Good full of flavour! Massive fan of the Philly cheese steak fries!

Every time we go it’s great, owners and staff last night were amazing and made me and my friends from out of town very welcome. Food as always was spot on.

Front of house were super friendly, the food was excellent and the menu advice was top class. Portion size to price ratio was perfect and I was definitely stuffed afterwards. A great spot for a good meal out!

Great little place. The food is really good, chicken wings and ribs to start were amazing and standard burger with brisket was also really good, the guest ale on tap was from Newcastle brewery and was soooo good. Atmosphere good and staff really friendly.

Really enjoyed the visit! Food was excellent and really reasonably priced! Great beer too! Service from the waiter was a little slow but overall a really enjoyable experience and will be back. Recommended.

Booked a table here for 18:00 on a Saturday for my friends birthday. While the food was lovely, unfortunately the hospitality was not. We ordered mains (No starters) and a bottle of wine to share. Once we had finished our main a waiter took away our plates and quickly after, a lady came to our table requesting for us to pay. No mention of “Would you like to see our dessert menu?” No offer at all. Soon after we had paid, my friend had finished her glass of wine but I did still have some left. The same lady then came over, took away my friends glass and the empty bottle.. knowing I still had some wine left in my glass, saying “Can I take these… it’s just we have someone waiting!” Never have we been made to feel so rushed and unwelcome before when visiting a restaurant. I understand that there will be tables booked after us as we had booked early (18:00) but in no way did we outstay our welcome which should be given. If you want to give your customers only 1 hour to eat up and leave when booking an early evening table you need to express this information at the time of booking so we are aware and have the opportunity to cancel and book elsewhere where we won’t be so rushed. What makes this worse is that a letter was actually sent also directly to Smokies expressing the dissapointment of the experience received and this was totally ignored. No acknowledgement what so ever which I feel is hugely rude and ignorant. As mentioned, the food was lovely but the hospitality really needs to be improved in order to keep the custom.

Really enjoyed our first visit to Smokies. Two excellent burgers with Mac and cheese, very tasty and well priced. I had the Tex mex burger, the brisket was fabulous! Service was very pleasant, staff attentive. Thank you for an excellent meal. Can't wait to come back and try more of the menu.

For a rustic BBQ style meal you won't find a better place locally. Large portions with great taste in every bite what more could you want? The staff are very friendly and helpful just an all round nice place to go.

First class service first class food definitely recommend a visit.

Great menu awesome food here! Family run with attention to detail. As a family with children from 1 to 11 the staff were amazing to us and so helpful. Food was honestly delicious with well sized operations. Definitely go again.

We ate there last Saturday evening and the food was excellent. Customer service was brilliant (including booking the table the week before and having to move our time slightly). A really nice meal out with my son and he was extremely impressed with the burgers and nachos. Highly recommended!!!!

Did takeaway and it was spot on. The Tex Mex burger was the best burger I have had in a long time. Beef brisket was beautifully slow cooked and smoky. Tad expensive for takeaway but worth it for a treat. Only negative is the polystyrene packaging and would prefer eco friendly alternatives.

Dined here 5/6/21. Excellent smoke house offering all sorts of in-house prepared meats. The pulled pork is a personal favourite but our party fully enjoyed the variety of dishes on offer. Licenced for alcohol on the premises and with complimentary music it makes for a great place to eat out. Smokies also offer a takeaway service but as yet no home delivery. Highly recommended and with strong covid-19 precautions in place makes it an attractive venue to eat in at.

Quick and easy collection. Food was amazing not one bit disappointed can’t wait to go once it reopens it eat inside.

LITERALLY THE BEST FOOD IN CHORLEY. if doing takeaway the food can be a little cold but it still amazing. Told so many people about this place. During lock down I lost count how many times I said when smokies opens we are going asap. Worth every penny, staff and chefs are perfection. The salt and pepper ribs are the best thing. The nachos are out of this world. The brisket is mouth watering. Can't think of a burger place in the UK that is better than smokies!!!!!!!!! 5 guys EAT YOUR HEART OUT.

Big fan of Smokies BBQ. Best quality BBQ food I've ever had, although not been to Texas. All the meat is ridiculously tender and melts in the mouth. Selection of craft beers (ales, larger and cider) on tap. Did not expect this level of quality of food for a small place tucked away in Chorley. Food is good sized portions at a reasonable price, if your eyes are bigger than your belly then they do do doggy bags to take away. If you are in Chorley in an evening and looking for food I was highly recommend Smokies as the place to go!

Brilliant food, especially the pork

Food was really good. Service was a little bit slow but they were very busy. Booking essential. One thing that stopped them getting 5 stars was the craft ale they served was from the Orkney Islands. I couldn't understand this as there is some fantastic craft ale brewerys local. But all in all I would recommend this place.

Don’t waste your time going here, rude waitress (a older lady) firstly the lager is rubbish, my boyfriend asked for a new pint as his pint was very flat and the lady basically said she couldn’t do anything about it. We then asked if we could have onions on the burger as an extra and that took her about 5 minutes to answer, she came up with some excuse that they were pre-made!!!! They have different sides on the menu and a few different types of fries, we asked for a portion of fries off the sides menu and that seem to much to ask for. Will never go back here!! The customer service is shocking

Really decent place for a town like chorley. Massive portion sizes so go hungry. Everything was super tasty and morish, the ribs I felt lacked a bit of seasoning but everything else was really good. Friendly service too!

Every time I go I'm never disappointed. Top notch munch...tastiest BBQ food in the North West. Went for a combo platter and the wings and ribs were next level. Had Tex Mex Burger this time and the combination of the briskett and jalapeno cheese with the juicy burger was a joy. Washed down with a pint of pale ale from the Orkney Islands. Can't wait for my next visit.

First visit this evening but it surely won't be our last! The platter for two was exceptionally good - brisket, pulled pork, chicken wings and pork ribs together with sides and sauces. A charming and very friendly smokehouse restaurant serving large portions of perfectly cooked food (and all at very reasonable prices) with easy parking nearby. Highly recommended.

Small town like Chorley has s smokehouse BIG on flavour, I'm a little demanding with my food being a 17st + competitive bodybuilder but this sure didn't let me down. Had the salt and pepper ribs for a starter and the brisket with pulled pork mac and cheese for main, taste awesome and a real man size portion of tender brisket.. this is way better than a lot of big city based smokehouses with a nice little vibe, highly reccomend. Thank Smokies 💪💪

Staff were good, food was very very good. Her home made sauces were tasty and the price was definitely worth it and tbh thought it was cheap for the quality .. Deffo be going back.

We have been here a good few times and have been happy with food and service. Went tonight for my husbands birthday and the manageress/owner took real offence at me asking the waitress if she could replace my glass of coke with lemonade as he coke was tasteless, the waitress tried to be nice saying it sometimes plays up but the manageress wasnt having it and decided to tell me off/ shout at me through the waitress saying no it doesnt "play up, it is measured by the engineer" etc, i have my cellar managment and have worked bars for many years, supervisor, manager etc but i let her carry onand was the bigger person as after some debate with my family on if we should just leave we stayed and i didnt want someone elses DNA in my food, but for the sake of what cost her 25p to make a glass of coke she has now lost any future business from us therefore losing £50/£60/£70 and our recomendation to friends and family. your loss for your rudeness The customer isnt always right...but is bad reviews worth the 25p it cost you? + you never know when giving bad service and attitude who your giving it too.

We booked a meal for 8 and although it was Chorley Live and very busy the service and food were excellent ! The portion sizes were large so I’d suggest sharing a starter if you have one. We will definitely be back 😀
