Strada - Wimbledon in Merton

We decided to go despite having already eaten since we have to catch a flight of several hours, the fact is that in order not to get too full we ordered two menus without dessert for 18 pounds, the bacon salad was delicious, it is not very filling but for a person is fine as a starter. We ask the waitress that the meat be without spices or creams, everything separately. The food arrives and one of the plates has the breast full of sauce and the waitress argues that we have indicated that only one of the two dishes comes with everything on the side, I accept that it may be my mistake. The other meat dish, the one that she herself said we only indicated to her, had nothing but the meat… it only tasted like pepper. I don't know if it's because we ordered little (we had already eaten and we just wanted to ensure the flight without hunger) or he saw us looking like tourists, but the treatment has been borderline distant and cold. The salad is recommended, and if you like pepper instead of ordering meat there is a Tesco 50m away where pepper is cheaper.

The food and service were fantastic. The seared scallops are to be recommended as well as the Moules Frites. Also have a couple of zero alcohol beer options.

Nice restaurant, staff & service was great. We drank an orange wine which was delicious. I had moules et frites but a little dissapointed with the dish as the sauce was very thick & very rich. It needed more wine or some lemon on the side at least+ not enough chips . A piece of bread or baguette would have been nice to mop up the sauce. It was rather noisy as it was Sunday lunch and the loos albeit clean, they were a bit smelly. Good value for money & I would visit again to try something else to eat at a different time of day though.

The food is average, very disappointing French onion soup, the rest of the meal ok, but overpriced. A bottle of water almost £6 really? Skimpy cheese board and to top it all, our group was allocated a cold corner of the restaurant and when raised the matter to the manager, he blamed the layout of the restaurant! Overall disappointing experience.

Poor service. Waited morethan 30 mins to serve my food. Ordered pouched egg but served hard boiled eggs. Coffee was cold before my food arrived. Portion is very tiny. Not happy at all.

Sadly we booked a table for New Year’s Eve. It was an utter disaster. We waited for over 90 minutes for a dessert on the fixed menu. A shame as we eat there a bit and had pre-booked hoping for a nice experience. The food was mixed and the service very bad.

WORST NEW YEARS OF MY LIFE Went there for New Years Eve. Took them 30 minutes to seat us WITH a reservation. When we sat down, the waitress we had to beg to take our order, had to ask for cutlery, then ask for napkins. After we had ordered it took over an hour for the WRONG starters to arrive. They ran out and decided by themselves what we wanted to eat. Then to top it all off the waitress was completely lost and continued to give us wrong drinks (we were just five tables at that point). By midnight, with no real manager in sight. We still didn’t eat anything and we just left hungry and disappointed.

Steak was good, but duck was dry with no sauce for the second time at a Cote (last time was Soho). Seems the food quality for some items has deteriorated... frozen / re-heated perhaps? Should do better.

Restaurant was full and had several big tables. Food took longer than usual but the staff was very attentive and kept their smile regardless of how busy it was. Food was amazing as usual.

The dinner itself was decent but the food poisoning aftermath was awful. Wouldn’t want to visit again.

Honestly so disappointed the last few times I’ve been to Cote. It used to be a delicious and easy going staple restaurant that always served delicious food at a good price. Recently the food has been awful. The fish stew is not a stew anymore, the steak frites is terrible and the crab appetiser is nothing what it used to be! I don’t know what changed about their menu or their chefs but it’s a big shame it’s gone so downhill!

This is the poor man's Cote. Go to any other Cote and its better. As a local visited many times and the last few years it's really dropped its standards Now it's for the Wimbledon village clique who just want to be seen Visited last Saturday. Ordered identical food to Windsor Cote (which was amazing). In Windsor the food was fantastic. I thought.. let's give Wimbledon one last go Mussels in white wine.. mixed but generally small Mussels.. Windsor was consistently large and juicy Mussels Half chicken..ooof so dry .. again! Service slow despite restaurant being half empty My last review was earlier in the year and scallops were shavings overcooked.. more like scallop chips Overpriced overcooked and a very poor representation of the Cote brand Avoid unless you're the village OAPs showing off your new fur

We went with the grandparents for Saturday lunch. The staff were lovely & friendly and the service excellent. Great value for money too.

The staff at the Wimbledon branch of Côte are fabulous and welcoming. I absolutely love the French onion soup served with toasted cheese bread strips. The steaks and fish are all very tasty. Last time I had the Christmas nougat pudding which was delicious.

I recently enjoyed a birthday get together with 3 girlfriends. The staff were welcoming and attentive and the steak and frîtes was delicious. Thank you Côte for a most enjoyable afternoon.

I had a rather nice meal here recently as a guest of friends. The service was prompt and friendly. I had whitebait followed by grilled chicken. It was simple and good, and the prices were reasonable. There is another Côte at Barnes nearby and this is also very pleasant andin a slightly different way. Recommended,

Chose Cote Wimbledon for our last meal in London for a while. Very welcoming and attentive staff. We chose the Salmon with Bearnaise sauce. Competitively priced and a good portion. Delicious. Dessert was madeleins with brandy butter. Melt in your mouth. Friendly manager and team and good loval atmosphere. Thoroughly recommend.

Cote is the place we go to every year for our annual Basketball reunion. About 20 of us. Just had another great evening there last night. Food excellent, staff are great people. We were looked after really well. Can't recommend highly enough!

Côte Wimbledon was always our favourite place to eat but unfortunately I feel as though it has taken a trip downhill. The food was very bland therefore leaving me very unimpressed. Staff were lovely and continue to be friendly and attentive

Such a disappointing experience tonight. Haven't ordered for a while so decided to get an old favourite - the Breton fish stew. Couldn't believe my eyes when I received it. They've literally halved the portion! Pitiful amount of sea bass. Virtually no sauce and what was there was thin, no tomatoes, no leeks, and basically tasted like salty water. They just loaded it with loads of mussels to make it look like there was more food there than there was. Some of the prawns weren't deveined properly. Just really disappointing. This used to be a super consistent, feel-good dish that was loaded with seafood (including squid!) and amazing sauce, and I could justify the price. Can't believe Cote is charging people nearly £20 for this!! Real shame. Will sadly have to avoid in future.

I recently visited Cote in Wimbledon, and it was an amazing experience- thank to Clement! The atmosphere was vibrant, and the service was top-notch. My mum, who’s usually quite picky with food, absolutely loved it. We had the steak, which was perfectly cooked and incredibly flavorful. Highly recommend this place for anyone looking for a great meal in Wimbledon!

Really disappointing meal at a restaurant that normally guarantees a decent meal out. Service was really slow, repeatedly requesting the same thing over again, food was forgotten, and some of the dishes were bland. Won’t be going back

Two colleagues Zain and Ashini were very attentive checked to make sure everything is okay with food general atmosphere was lovely but all staff were friendly.

We went along as a large group, 11 people in total and Zayn out did many waiters I have encountered. He was attentive, checked on us various times and was extremely professional. He knew each order for each person. When the kitchen was delayed with our food, he reassured us and tried his utmost best to keep us comfortable. When I return, I will be requesting to be seated in his serving area. An incredible human. Thank you so much Zayn for making my birthday extra special. The food was also very delightful and a pleasure.

Zayn was absolutely lovely, very attentive in making sure any dietary requirements or allergies were registered before the meal. He was incredibly quick with the service, especially as the restaurant was quite busy, and didn’t seem flustered even though he is relatively new to Cote. My parents and I are regulars to Cote Wimbledon and felt in very welcoming and safe hands with Zayn, thank you!

My wife and I eat at Côte Wimbledon pretty regularly and usually thoroughly enjoy our time there. On this occasion, though, we experienced extraordinarily long waits for our food (even though there were empty tables all around us, so the place certainly wasn't busy) AND what were supposed to be sauté potatoes accompanying my Chicken Breton Roti were anything but sauté. I pointed this out to a (very nice) waitress who said she would tell the kitchen. But she didn't. So no replacement potatoes ever arrived. Finally I finished eating what were really nothing but unappetising boiled potatoes. I was so thoroughly hacked off that (unusually for us) we passed on desserts and coffees, preferring on this occasion to spend our money elsewhere. The same (nice) waitress brought our bill with no mention of, or apology for, the dreadful potatoes. I didn't ask for a price reduction although I should have, and none was offered although one should have been. Côte didn't do at all well tonight (unusually) and when we return, which I'm sure we will as I'll forgive one mistake, in case the chefs still haven't learnt how to cook sauté potatoes I'll substitute chips for the sautés just to be sure to avoid the same misfortune twice.

Really nice food at very reasonable prices. Wasn't really planning where to eat. This was last minute and very happy with it. Service was a little slow. Sat with a finished table of food for longer than I think was reasonable. Had to get someone's attention. Friendly though and no major complaints. Would go again no question.

From the moment we walked in the staff were welcoming and extremely attentive but not in your face. The food was absolutely incredibly especially the summer menu (I am not so secretly hoping that they add the boursin tomatoes to the regular menu!) The only downside was that the air con was pointless but that is something that was out of the staffs control. With that in mind if you go and its hot take a fan and enjoy!

Once again, it was a fantastic visit to Cote, the food was simply delicious and the staff very helpful and attentive. I had the pan fried Salmon and that was amazing, also for a starter I had the cheese souffle which was delicious, the food never lets me down and that is why I have been visiting Cote for years. So compliments to the Chef and the team for another amazing visit.

Portion is a little bit small for breakfast

I have often chosen Cote restaurants as they offer a nice, varied menu with good food at a reasonable price, and even when the restaurants are busy (e.g. those in central London), the service is always quick, friendly and efficient. However, unfortunately this was not the case when we visited the Cote in Wimbledon for the first time last week. When we arrived at just after 7pm, the restaurant was fairly quiet, and yet we had to call someone over to take our order; there were at least 4 members of staff standing at the bar chatting to each other, with nobody showing any sign of coming to serve us. Having placed our order, the food arrived in reasonable time, but once we had eaten our main course we were again ignored for ages, so we abandoned our plan to order a dessert and decided to leave, but even being able to find someone to bring the bill and then bring the card reader took much longer than it should have done. The food itself was up to the usual standard I have come to expect at Cote, but unfortunately the speed and attentiveness of the service fell way short.

My third visit over the last 8 years and this time disappointing. Why, why, why... Cheese souffle, no taste and overcooked. Crab salad, no particular taste. Steaks so thin and small with the fries for 18 pounds. The wine we ordered by the glass (8 pounds each glass) was served far too warm, was burning the throat, and got better after l asked for ice cubes. Creme brule - very average. We spent 80 pounds for a disappointing lunch. It used to be very tasty, 3-4 years ago.

Busy Saturday night, but everyone was still full of joy and attentive. Host was amazing, mangers and stuff members were too.

I called the Cote Wimbledon on Sunday morning to double check the time the Bruch is served. I was given a time and I’ve said that we will come over in an hour, we were not advised the place is fully booked. We are regular customers, we came an hour later and we were said by the same lady who talked to us over the phone that there is no table available. That’s absolutely fine but we were not said, please wait half an hour or were not advised that over the phone that this might happen. We have never done reservations before and were always given a table. As much as we enjoy food there, unfortunately the management is not great. We were welcomed by your neighbourhood, also very busy restaurant where we were offered a seat before the table got available…

While parfait itself was great it came with dirty baby heritage carrots but that’s the lesser problem. Main course beef’s mash was obviously instant/out of a packet and bland. Meat sauce was oily and thin with quartered(!) chantenay carrots so you’d get half a baby carrot with your £21.50 bland as hell beef bourguignon. Really not good value for money

I had lunch with friends here and we all had really tasty meals followed by delicious deserts. We enjoyed the cocktail of the month. A very good experience and the staff extremely helpful

We chose Cote to celebrate our anniversary, and the warm welcome upon arrival set a positive tone. However, our initial excitement was dampened a bit by the table setting, as the glasses weren't polished. Moving on, the menu impressed us with its variety, offering something for everyone's taste. Thankfully, most of the food lived up to that promise. The dishes were delicious, except for the scallops, which fell short of expectations. There was a minor service hiccup as my wife's side dishes arrived a little later than the main course. However, the manager's prompt and proactive response deserves recognition. Despite our initial reluctance, they insisted on offering us complimentary desserts to apologize for the inconvenience. This gesture definitely helped salvage the experience. Overall, there were a few bumps along the way, but the delicious food (besides the scallops) and the overall positive atmosphere won us over.

I’ve always loved Cote, reliable, delicious and affordable and usually, great service. However, since returning last night, I was shocked at the decline. The food was mediocre at best, clearly the quality has reduced and everything feels cheaper. The venue had no ambiance and very bright lights, no tealights etc. Mise en place had changed, adding to the cheap feel. Dirty cutlery used to set up the table. The front of house staff seemed to have changed, whilst not rude in any way, they were severely lacking in training. Apart from the steak, which I will say was cooked beautifully, the rest of the food was bland, badly presented and lacklustre. Very disappointing and we’re in no rush to return.

(7 of us dining together, i was the bill payer) the food was beyond appalling. dining in on the evening of the 6th of April. I realised that it was not just me when i noticed that no one was finishing their meals. all around me, dinners were being sent back to the kitchen. my meal : fougasse, bread was fine, salty garlic, baked camembert - possibly the smallest i have ever seen served for sharing at a restaurant anywhere, zero flavour. moules - smallest ever portion, about 15 shells, all open (which means done in a combi steamer) and flavourless thin broth with blobs of oil floating around in it. clearly no cream, mussles were not cooked in the broth. tarte tatin - uncooked pastry at the centre (from frozen) and cornflour and colouring clearly used with sugar syrup instead of butter and brown sugar, even my teenage boys would not venture past the edges. of the other meals, unfinished parmentiere x2; unfinished cheese souffle, except for the mashed potato, and untouched beef bourgignon requires a special mention. the beef cheek was fatty and unrendered (despite supposed slow cooking) the carrots, onions, mushrooms, firm, chewy, and undercooked (you would think this impossible). finally the sauce itself thickened with starch and salty but oddly sickening. one steak, a fillet was so small i had to apologise to my guest. seared for too long on a dirty grill with embers stuck to the steak so burnt on the outside and rare in the centre. a burger served with fresh cucumber slices on the patty (ran out of pickles?) finally, i made no fuss. i waited for everyone to leave (as it was meant to be a celebration and was not going further spoil the evening) and went back to the manager to express my concern about the poor overall standard and incompetence. a day later and the entire party are feeling slightly unwell. i can only think that cooking with rancid oil was the reason this might occur, enough to upset but not really make anyone really ill. it would explain the general bitterness and lack of flavour across the meals served.

Had a fab steak and staff were very attentive. Great new tomato starter.

Family of five went for dinner on a relatively busy Thursday eve. Food was absolutely outstanding, as was our lovely waitress who did everything she could to make us comfortable and attending to order adjustments without a bother or mistake - She was absolutely wonderful and a credit to the restaurant, even singing happy birthday to my younger brother. It’s a shame the same can’t be said for the manager. After misleading information online as to whether Côte offer an NHS blue light discount, we proceeded to ask. Manager was flippant, rude and ignorant and proceeded to make remarks about us to another waitress within view of our table. Highly unprofessional and sadly put a dampener on the whole evening, especially after spending over £200 on what would have otherwise been a delightful evening. What a shame. On a brighter note, the food was delightful, as again, was the waitress. Highly recommend the steak frites and sirloin steak!! ☺️

Don’t come here on a Saturday night. They try to get rid of you from 10pm onwards, becoming more and more pushy about it - asking you to order dessert,, pay up, turning the lights on bright, opening the door to let cold air in. Crap really for a Saturday night and wouldn’t bother coming again…

Every time I have placed an order over Deliveroo, something is missed off. Again today - I have a missing Fougasse and the restaurant confirms they still have it yet they won’t allow me to re-order. Basically for he cost of the food, this standard is just far from acceptable! I have been a customer for years and years however given all of these recent experiences, it makes me want to go somewhere else!

A small group of us enjoyed a late lunch here on Saturday. Our table was waited on by lovely Odete & Gaby, who were wonderful…warm & helpful & efficient. We observed that all the staff seemed to be genuinely happy, which contributed to a relaxed & pleasant ambience in the restaurant. I was surprised at how incredibly delicious my entire meal was. I hadn’t been to any Côte for quite a few years, & I had not expected such high quality dishes from a restaurant chain. I had the Paillard Salad, Dauphinois Potatoes, & Cafe Gourmand. It was <chef’s kiss> perfect.

Food is delicious and staff in very nice. We got one dessert for fee because we had to wait for very long time as the place was very crowded. Overall a good experience

Went for a spontaneous lunch and was not disappointed. We chose the beef to share that was tender and cooked perfectly. The flavour was delicious! Paired with lovely red wine, sides that we fresh in flavour it was a delicious lunch. Friendly prompt service and we finished off with a beautiful dessert. This is the second time we have been and both times it was great! Looking forward to the next time!

I love Cote, frequent visitor to the Wimbledon branch. We got there at 6.15 so it wasn't busy. We had to ask for water glasses and our cutlery for our main course about 3 times. My friends' fries were cold, one friend was given a new portion but the other despite asking numerous times, never received hers. We asked for butter at least 5 times. Very disappointing

Simple clean interior. Food was great. They were sent the list of attendees and menu choices for our group booking beforehand but still failed to set enough place settings. Billing was longwinded despite the above list. They didn't seem ready but were polite and nice regardless.

Really disappointing experience. The service was very slow, it seemed that we were forgotten, we had to waive our waitress multiple times to get some attention. My steak was tasteless and had a very sad looking rocket on the side. The wine arrived when we nearly were done with our steaks, we had to remind them about it! The restaurant was busy, which made it too noisy, we could not wait to leave and did not enjoy our evening there.

We went for their 3-course lunch menu which is great value. The food was nice and the variety very good. The service a little slow as it was busy but otherwise good. Thank you, Cote for a nice afternoon 🙂
