The Bake House in Kirklees

Me and my husband have just eaten the most amazing apple pie from the Bakehouse! The crust melts in the mouth. Beautiful.

The Bakehouse are an independent bakery providing a good range of breads, cakes, buns etc. The daily specials that I've tried have all been delicious and good value. You can really tell how fresh the food is. There is a great range of lunch options and The Bakehouse has so much more to offer than a standard sandwich shop. Well worth making a special trip into town for a treat lunch! The staff are lovely, friendly and efficient despite being incredibly busy

This place is a little gem! The food is amazing, always freshly cooked and the cakes are fabulous. All the staff are lovely and very helpful. I can't praise it enough! *****five stars.

Whilst the food is nice... the £5 minimum spend to pay by card is a joke. It’s 2019, making it difficult for your customers to give you their money isn’t a great business model. When there are firms like iZettle and Square out there making the cost of offering electronic payments dirt cheap, there is just no excuse for it. I won’t be returning again until Bakehouse get with the times.

The Bakehouse is a small, independent takeaway bakery, selling standard bakery goods like fresh baked loaves, buns and scones and more. Interesting variety that you don't get in the average bakers or sandwich bar. Lovely local specialities such as curd tarts and fat rascals, a type of giant rock cake with fruit and almonds. Good sandwiches prepared to your taste, pasties, sausage rolls, various scotch eggs and a new experience for me, a veggie falafel scotch egg - spicy falafel mix cooked around a hard boiled egg. Delicious!

Great quality home cooked food with a very wide selection, plus good value and a friendly service. I highly recommend this for takeout food.

Cannot recommend the bakehouse highly enough for a tasty lunch with fresh, quality ingredients. The baked halloumi, bacon and tzatziki special was delicious, as was the black pudding scotch egg. Staff are very friendly and efficient, despite always being busy. The perfect lunch stop!

Go here nearly every day for my lunch. We're known and treated as such. There's friendly banter. Always exceptional sandwiches, homemade soups are brilliant. The veggie selection is amazing. I told the owner that I'm a veggie, and she's promised me to do me a veggie scotch egg. I can't recommend this place enough. By far and away the best sarnie shop in town. Beats the others by a Scarborough Mile. Amazing quality. Amazing service. Thank you.

My partner and I were passing and almost went in the next door cafe however the cakes caught my eye and in we went. Omg to die for sweets. Homemade abs scones too. We had a soup and sandwich . It was leek and potato and I had tuna mayo sarni and my partner had ham. The ham was beautiful had cut ham. Very tasty everything. I did resist the cakes as I was on dechox for march . But will be back once I can consume a chocolate eclair. Very friendly staff and disabled friendly too. Well with a visit. At the top of the street next too another more famous kitchen .

I called in for some sandwiches to take home, after a visit to town, My husband and son fancied a beef sandwich each [they serve juicy,medium rare ones], I had a turkey granary roll with cranberry & chestnut stuffing. they specialise in scotch eggs [huge ones] with varied filling/coatings, me & hubby shared a black pudding one, yummy!. they also had a chorizo version and the usual tasty sausagemeat, their served with salad & pickle. the list of breads/ fillings/salads + everything sweet is limitless, the staff are pleasant and efficient, not the cheapest, but certainly one of the best!.

This place is amazing. Great sandwiches. Great jacket potatoes. Great cake. Great staff. Bake House is always busy at lunchtime, so expect to wait, as it's totally worth it. It's take out only, but there are plenty of decent places to sit nearby.

called for some lunch to take home for me+hubby, I chose a board special;- chicken+bacon with seasoning on granary, a rare beef and onion t.cake for hubby, plus a black pudding scotch egg [which he'd requested], they were all individually wrapped, it was very busy as usual, but they are always polite + efficient. the lunch was enjoyed back home, everything was very tasty, a little more than we usually pay, but generous and worth it when you feel like a treat.

By far the best sandwich in town. Superb service to go with it. Excellent in everyway. Especially the brie crispy bacon and mango chutney.

this place serves bespoke sandwiches, salads, soups, savoury snacks + irresistible cakes + breads. i call here a lot on my way home from town. my favourites are turkey+brie+cranberry, black pudding scotch eggs and lemon currant pasty. the choices are endless, theres always a queue out of the door, thats only a good thing.

This is not a restaurant or cafe, but a take-away shop and bakery, open during the day. I buy lunch from here regularly. They serve good hot and cold sandwiches (I like the hummus and med veg), really excellent fresh soup and lovely, unusual boxed salads (I like the Italian bean and tuna one). The bread and cakes are also good. Staff are friendly and there is usually a queue because it's popular. My only complaint about this placec is that it needs to open as a cafe too!

Whenever I go into town I always go to the bake house for a sandwich. I usually have ham. Brie and salad. Not the cheapest but well worth the money
