The Cherry on the Top Ice Cream Shop in Teignbridge

Absolutely fuming after checkout two lots of information that states opening time 10 am we waited till 10.30 and still not open.

This is an excellent coffee and ice cream place next to the Pavilions theatre. They have just created a new, beautiful indoor seating area too (see picture), to go with the sunny tables outside.

Excellent ice cream. Not easy to spot as it is across from the seafront. Good flavour options and a bit of seating outside. Definitely worth a visit

Amazing ice cream plus first class customer service. Handily located close to beach, theatre, railway station and bowls green. Housed in former tourist information centre.

Love this shop as I am Lactose intolerant and the dairy free ice cream is gorgeous so I don’t have to miss out when my partner has an ice cream.

A truley amazing shop with 'goodies' to eat and drink that will blow your mind; de-caff is just the start of the coffee choices offered there are many more choices as well as other specialist drinks; never mind the Ice Cream selections; yes a truely 'must' visit shop to visit when on holiday plus when not on holiday; recommended = you bet

Late afternoon and on an overcast blustery day this was the only ice cream vendor we could find open in half term! And what a treat it was a cute little cabin selling delicious ice cream by a lovely lady.

Great to see Cherry on the Top still going strong a year later. Some of the flavours have changed and there are new items in the shop (some using images designed by a local artist - her own shop is a short walk away down the road), but other than that it's the same as when we first visited. So expect some great ice cream and sorbets, with plenty of flavours to choose from, and a nice friendly welcome. Looking forward to visiting again next year!

Lovely friendly place which serves dairy free ice cream. My daughter has only recently been found to be dairy intolerant and was desperately missing her ice cream until we found this lovely shop. Will be back next year!

The Elderflower Sorbet was so delicious. Lovely to have a choice of vibrant sorbets and that gluten free, vegan, dairy free, are all catered for. I’m told by my companions that the ice cream was good too!

So good to see this awesome little place on TripAdvisor! Visited Teignmouth over the summer and sadly only discovered this treat toward the end of our holiday. The ice cream flavour choice is amazing and the milkshakes are to die for. I had Jaffa cake ice cream AND milkshake (mortified I've not been able to find this flavour anywhere else since.) I liked that it wasn't just ice cream and drinks, we managed to do some our gift shopping here! Very cute mugs, seaside ornaments, signs and other bits and bobs. Not sure when we'll return to Teign, but if we ever do this place will be a must return visit!

Cherry on the Top is still pretty new to Teignmouth (just over a year old at the time of writing) and it's already become a highlight of our yearly holiday to the town. It's a tiny little shop located on The Den - the town's park area - just beneath the local bowls club. It's got a prettily decorated exterior, has a few chairs outside, and a cutesy interior to match (most of which can be purchased; things like cards, sweet jars, bunting, cushions, and so on). They've got a really wide range of cones, ice creams, sorbets, and drinks, as well as regular specials (consisting of unusual ice cream flavours) and milkshakes made from the ice cream flavours of your own choosing. All of the ones we've had have been delicious. We tend to come once a day when we're on holiday, trying out different flavours that take our fancy, and the staff are always incredibly friendly and open to new ideas. We wish them all the best, because the shop is a little gem and the owners deserve for it to be a success.
