The Cottage Spring in Sandwell

Tasteless expensive food. We ordered food on Christmas evening but they ruined it. Chicken tikka masala tasted so sweet and seems like it was that readymade gravy type. Saag was absolutely bland tasteless. Tasted like one you get in tin. We used to order from them in past and they had good quality food at first but then quality went downhill. We stopped ordering but thought we should give them another chance this Christmas. Dreading my decision. Ruined our Christmas evening. Most food went into bin and had to cook at home. Will never order again. Never ever.

The mix grill was below average, dry and not fresh. The curries were nice but I asked for it hot and they laced it with too much chilli! But they did remake it and it was lovely after. Overall nice but felt like they just reheated the food and served it.

Order arrived with in the time window. However, both the restaurant and driver handed over delivery knowing they were unable to deliver all the items. When challenged at point of delivery, i had to request they attempt to redeliver the missing items as they were not presenting solutions. Calling the restaurant the call handler said theyre busy and dont deliver drinks. So why allow it to be ordered? Restaurant offered a replacement can on my next order, but as i am visiting the area, its not an offer i will pick up on any time soon. Refund for the item through JE was easy. Then tucked into the food, nan ordered was cheese and paid extra for garlic. Nan received was a standard plain nan. Not sight of cheese, not taste or garlic. All setting the stage for a tikka masala that fell flat in taste. The jalfrezi was enjoyed and well received, as was the egg fried rice.

Overall, having dined in many times here is a combined review all in one. The service and atmosphere are excellent. You’re always greeted with a smile. The atmosphere is nice, doesn’t matter what room you sit in, they’re all well presented and cleaned well. The food The large mixed grill is £26. When you consider the other local establishments this is on the high end of the scale. You would therefore expect to get more than 1 lamb chop, more than 3 chicken wings. It’s mostly all chicken tikka. The taste is lovely so nothing taken away from that. The curry’s and naans are delicious absolutely faultless - just get them cooked to your preferred taste. All in all a definite gem of a place!

Very nice food, one of my friends Ajay Sharma recommended this place to us , we all using this now more then 2 years ,they provide the best food in all birmangham, all our party not complete with out there food ! Highly recommended this place to everyone.
