Great steak and friendly service from Seb. Lunch menu delicious and reasonably priced!

An hour in-between courses in a mostly empty restaurant (only two other tables), then ribs and steaks arrived cold to touch. After complaining, the steaks returned steaming hot a minute later after being microwaved, which is appalling given such expensive cuts of meat. I've tried both Cow and Sow's in Bristol, and both have been massively overpriced and disappointing for the quality of the cooking and service.

The best Sunday roast I’ve had in a long while. From the minute we walked in, Ed’s service and attention to detail was impeccable. Honestly the loveliest staff, the most delicious food and a great atmosphere. We had the roast beef brisket, roast sirloin beef and The Cure (all 4 meats), plates were clean by the end of it. I don’t eat dairy and the kitchen was happy to cater for me, a lot of the roast staples are already vegan. Will 100% be coming back to try the evening menu. Amazing!

A local guy in near by pub recommended this place by chance glad he did because it was a immense eatery! All of us enjoyed our meals good portion sizes,food brilliantly cooked and everything seemed so fresh and tasty. Service fantastic very welcoming and nothing was a burden. Atmosphere was just right lighting not too bright like a dentists or too dark that you cannot see what you are eating. Wasn't very noisy but wasn't too quiet just fine. Would definitely recommend 👌

definitely come for their express lunch! it is 1 course for 14£ and 2 courses for 18£. we ordered the flat iron steaks, wouldn’t say they are very flavourful but they are worth the money. we loved the starters though! the sticky pork belly and fried squid were amazing

Sebastian, our waiter, was an absolute pleasure and delight!! Possibly the nicest, warmest and most genuine guy to behold. The food was incredible, really delicious and tender. The chateaubriand was amazing, sides of Brussels and potatoes divine. Sticky pork belly was also just delicious!!! I'd come here again just to be in the presence of Seb. What a lovely guy, really makes the experience a bit more special with an attentive and warm server!

I went there to have their express lunch menu of steak and chips. The portion of the steak is comedically small, with big chips to compensate. Burnt ends were great although they could have given more of the accompanying sauce. The bone marrow was a bit underwhelming; not a lot of marrow in the whole bone, and the caremalised onions were the dominant flavour and ingredient of the dish. The blooming onions were crisp and sweet, if not a bit bitter on some burnt ends, and very greasy all over. The black garlic aioli is amazing as a dipping sauce for both the onion and chips. The salted caramel tart was underwhelming; the tart was very thick and viscous, and the salty flavour is more prominent than the sweet caramel. Luckily the ice cream was the right amount of sweetness to cover the dish. Incredibly pricey for the quantity and quality of food provided. Charging £5 for an additional sauce for the steak is absurd for the amount provided for both steak and chips. Staff were incredibly attentive and accommodating. The wait staff are probably among the most well trained that I've seen in establishments throughout Bristol.

Service was great, atmosphere good, unfortunately the food wasn't great. I've had much better steaks elsewhere for same or less.

Seb remembered us from our last visit which was very welcoming. Whilst serving on a busy night he always made sure to check in and ensure we were having the best night we could. The food is delicious, I savour evey bite when I go and can't wait to go again.

We had the Christmas menu - totally not worth it. The beef wellington was mad of pulled beef and the cheese board was woefully underwhelming - hard brie is never the one. The service was ok but one of the waiters was trying to make a joke with one of our party who wasn't drinking, owing to being the designated driver, encouraging them to drink and driving. Nobody at the table was impressed or found this funny. Particularly at this time of year, it's nothing to joke about. Despite my friend being clear they weren't drinking the waiter brought an extra glass for them and filled it up with prosecco.

Visited the Cow and Sow in Queen's Square for a Sunday lunch and it was faultless. The staff were fantastic. We had Maya (apparently her first day on the job) who was really lovely. Both of the roasts were spot on, really tasty food. The desserts were fantastic. The Cow and Sour cocktails were delicious. Great service, great food and great atmosphere. Highly recommend it. Thanks for having us, we will be back very soon.

We had a fabulous birthday meal between the 6 of us! We had the sharing platters which were generous, delicious cuts of meat and we received excellent advice from Ed on our wine choices. All round lovely experience.

Fantastic steakhouse with perhaps the best value for money in all of Bristol. I went with a French colleague for work and we were very satisfied. Exquisite attention, great quality of meat and without going too far in price. Totally recommended

Loved our Roast dinner here! We were in England for our Honeymoon and my husband has never had an English Roast so I was adamant we find a nice place for dinner on a Sunday. We booked a reservation at Cow and Sow based on a lot of recommendations on TikTok. It did not disappoint!!!! Our server, Kayla was absolutely amazing and took such good care of us. She was so sweet and the perfect host to our evening. The food was phenomenal! My husband cleaned his plate and couldn’t believe how incredible it was. It was probably some of the most tender and flavorful roast I’ve ever had. Absolutely recommend to anyone!!!

Overall satisfied. The female server was not as warm or friendly as the others but still professional. Couldn't fault the food, prices are a little high but you get what you pay for. Would go there again.

Despite making a reservation very last minute on a Saturday we were so well looked after - we were served by Mikaela and everything was amazing - my steak was cooked perfectly and so flavourful, and my boyfriends pork was insanely tender and really delicious.Even got a free glass of Prosecco as it was my birthday. Don’t live close to the area at all but if we’re staying there again we’d come back for sure.

The ribeye was excellent, and the Rioja I ordered with it was very pleasant too. Really, really lovely staff and a relaxing atmosphere.

Welcomed by Tom who was very enthusiastic and being our first time he explained the menu to us which was very helpful. Food was great, steak was cooked to how we wanted it and sides were good. Atmosphere was lovely, towards the end of our meal we were served by Anita who was also very kind and lovely.

Absolutely loved Cow & Sow at queen's square!! We ate on a Monday lunchtime. The staff were wonderful, the food was amazing and the drinks too! Lovely place for a birthday lunch. We'll certainly be back next time we visit Bristol. Looking forward to trying more of the menu at your other locations too. Great place!! Xxx

I had a wonderful experience at Cow and Sow recently, having had the delicious Ox cheek croquettes to start and a perfectly cooked ribeye for my main - my only feedback would be that the bacon dauphinoise was a bit bland and needed a bit more love. Service was top notch 👌 professional and friendly. I'd definitely recommend this place.

Had the three-course set lunch menu with my sisters who had never been to a Cow & Sow before. The server in the Queen's Square restaurant was attentive, knowledgeable & friendly. We had such a wonderful meal in terms of food & wine quality, the atmosphere, the service & it was good value for what we had. Will definitely return.

We ordered two flat iron steaks and were given fillets by mistake, we don’t eat steak very often (once a year maybe) so we had no idea of the difference. But what we did know was how fantastic the food was. The chips were amazing (with beef dripping) and at the end the waitress changed our bill from fillet to flat iron, honestly couldn’t fault them at all. Will definitely be coming back and choosing the fillet now we know how good it is!! Price is very reasonable for what you get (regardless of the mix up) 10*

Service was good but not great. A bit slow at times and our wine was never topped up. The biggest disappointment however was the steak. It was pretty tough and chewy for a medium rare steak. Not what I expect from a £100 steak so won’t be back.

we dined here before heading to the theatre and were blown away! there was a great selection of non-alcoholic drinks and they arrived very quickly. the starters were incredible, we ordered the bread and some burnt ends- had absolutely no clue what we were ordering but they were amazing! would definitely recommend. we were served by jordan and tom; service was efficient and friendly, but not overbearing which was very nice! jordan was especially helpful when we were navigating the menu, telling us all about the steaks on offer and what we could order based on our preferences. our food - especially the sirloin - was perfect, exactly how we wanted it. kudos to jordan! overall, the atmosphere was lovely, the facilities were clean and the food was brilliant. we are excited to come again!

We’ve never had a poor experience at either Cow and Sow in Bristol. I’m rubbish at writing reviews so let me just say that both the food and service is excellent. It’s the type of restaurant that you feel comfortable in jeans or dressed up. Everything is so well done. The only reason I have 4 stars for the food is that I prefer my garlic butter at room temperature rather than fridge cold. But that’s purely preference. The lunch offer is incredible value.

I visited Cow & Sow for my partner’s 30th. We were a party of 14 and the team were amazing. Anna was particularly great and offered to do personalised name tags for everyone. The staff on the night were also excellent and very attentive. They made it a very special evening. The food was excellent, I’ve only rated it down because the dauphinoise potatoes, which came with mains as part of the set menu, were an incredibly small portion. So much so we had to order extra chips. Otherwise, everything was perfect and I actually think the set menu was very reasonable for the quantity and the quality!

I been there few days ago. The food here is amazing, very fresh, and high quality. Food taste sooo good. We order stake and pork belly. The atmosphere is welcoming, clean, and elegant. Service is great. The server was nice. We were sited fast. I didn't make any reservations, we went there around 15 pm we got a table, so we were happy to dine here. Overall, we eaten good.

The food was absolutely spectacular. The chateubriand steak was just as advertised and cooked to perfection. All the sides were beautiful as well as the desserts and the service was incredible. Fantastic food! Really wonderful, one of the best roast dinners we have ever had. Also, the wine was fantastic - highly recommend the Ancora Pinot Grigio Rosé and the beef Brisket for main! :)

Specialized in meats but without neglecting other dishes. From the initial bread and butter to the desserts, all dishes were delicious. Highlights include their Croquettes, Caramelized Pork, Fried Onion (essential) and, of course, the meat, served just as requested. The service was excellent at all times, highlighting our waiter Sebastian, who was very attentive, kind and friendly. The price is high but according to what was received. Very nice place, with a small outdoor terrace. Highly recommended.

Came here for a Sunday roast today and it was fairly good, although a couple of things were disappointing. We both had the beef sirloin and shared a side of cauliflower cheese. For drink I had the bloody Mary. The bloody Mary was quite watery and lacked a lot of flavour or kick although I did like that they had salt rimmed the glass. The roast itself was decent, the meat was tender and the veggies were well considered and cooked. The Yorkshire pudding was very cool looking and tasty. The cauliflower cheese was a bit of a letdown, similar vein to the bloody Mary it was quite bland and a little watery. Overall it was good and if a friend books Cow & Sow for future roasts I would be okay with it. There were, however, a couple of typos on the menu which my slightly autistic brain got hyperfixated on. So if you're reading Cow & Sow team, maybe consider to amend the menu. "Gooked chicken" and "maple galzed porchetta" takes away from the professionalism of your establishment.

Special day made better with exceptional service and food.

We came for my daughter’s 5th birthday as she was requesting a tomahawk steak. The food, service and atmosphere were all lovely. Kayla was our waitress and she was great, she even went out of her way to make a mocktail for her birthday which she loved. Will definitely be back

Lovely restaurant serving delicious food and drinks. I loved the slow cooked pork belly main, and the Apple Pie Martini. Service was excellent.

Very impressed with the service and quality of food. Probably the best steak we ve had anywhere. Its a good location and nice atmosphere. Would highly recommend and will be returning on our next trip the Bristol.

Sunday lunch on Mother's day was a revelation. Brisket of beef cooked in beer rosemary and garlic with all the trimmings and chocolate delice to follow. Flavours fit for fine dining, no less. Unexpected and vastly appreciated. No idea, if this is typical of everyday fare, but on this one showing, expectations were well and truly exeeding. Very good and charming service and if a tad slow, who's complaining? This is a restaurant to watch. If today's showing is typical, I say if, then there is a new star in town.

Had a great time at the Cow and Sow on Queen Square. The chateaubriand was outstanding, probably the best I’ve had. The peppercorn sauce was excellent and unlike any other I’ve tried before. Don’t be put off but the prices, they’re only slightly more expensive than some similar places but the food is worth every penny. You really must try this restaurant.

Delicious food. We had a sharing starter, I loved the chargrilled pineapple, we enjoyed all the various selection. My steak cooked to perfection. We're not vegetarian but my son tried the butternut squash Wellington, very tasty. It's nice to try. Daughter had the Pork Belly and said it was excellent. One tiny downside the house malbec was a little disappointing. Our server Mickela was lovely and attentive. Definitely recommend and will certainly go again.

We ordered the 1200g tomahawk medium rare, beautifully done and was served with blue cheese sauce and a peppercorn sauce. The blue cheese sauce was definitely our favourite. Broccoli and leek side dish and mac n cheese side dishes were a welcome addition too. Ambience of the restaurant was warm and welcoming. Staff were lovely and as someone who doesn’t really eat steak often enough to know the cuts well, Tik, our server explained really kindly and was super friendly too. Will definitely recommend and come again as was a decent price for a very lovely evening!

Our eldest is studying at UWE and turns 21 on Sunday so we drove down for an early birthday celebratory lunch. The Cow & Sow did NOT disappoint! We were welcomed with the warmest of smiles from Tik as were shown to our table. Food, drinks, service and environments were all on point... Adored the playlist during the lunch period and complemented wonderful dining experience. We WILL be back.
