Lovely food, Fantastic Service, Excellent staff, Great place to meet family and friends for lunch.

Just finished a really enjoyable Sunday lunch at The Crown. As good as, or better than, any I have eaten anywhere at any price. Atmosphere welcoming and relaxed. Service efficient and friendly. Food fresh, well cooked, attractively served and delicious. Great Vale for money and well worth a detour for a meal. KD

This old Pub has been completely modernised since we went there a few years ago. We were with friends for a christmas dinner celebration and they cared for us very well. The portions were very generous and the service first class , as well as the over all ambiance of the place. I would recommend this eatery to everyone that wants a great meal out!

Starter and desert delicious, however the roast dinner. No so much. The Yorkshire pudding was burned to an inch of their life, same as the pigs in blankets. Potatoes just didn't taste nice at all. Maybe bad harvest? Gravy was so salty like sea water has been used. Great service and atmosphere. Bogs nice and clean and well stocked with toilet roll and hand soap. Shame because this place has potential. And if you can't get a Yorkshire pudding right, then why are you in the kitchen?

The worse meal ever! My husband had the sausage and mash. Sausages not cooked so He left them although the mash and veg was delicious. I had to send my chicken back so spicy but arrived back hard and tasting of dirty griddle. We paid our full bill but please DO NOT GO.

Absolutely 100% world class service. Seated quickly. Good ordered promptly fantastic atmosphere staff very welcoming. Cleanliness second to none. Absolutely not a speck of dust anywhere to be seen. Servers are friendly professional. And the food was absolutely out of this world. Lamb roast was ordered and the meat was melt in the mouth and the veg and gravy was hot which is always a plus. And the rest of the meal was fantastic. Highly recommend to anyone wanting roast dinners.

Excellent Sunday lunch with very large, tasty portions. Very god selection. Particularly enjoyed the ESK Valley Sauvingnon Valley wine. Easy parking, comfortable seating.

They do great homecooked food here. I had a really good roast beef, very tasty and lots of it. The staff are all so friendly and helpful, nothing is too much trouble. Definitely recommend The Crown.

Had hunters chicken. Never seen such a large portion of chicken. Chips crispy. Honey cheese cake hit the spot. Great service. Only reason not a five * the drink order slightly messed up and the fllowe on the table was almost dead. Will definately return

Wanted some comfort food and a quiet space to relax after hectic morning. Rees showed me to corner of function room and I believe it was Jade at the bar - both were great - great service , empathetic and the sausage mash and crunchy onions were delicious . A great Sunday Roast. With a couple of open fires. Lovely staff and a lovely atmosphere.

Popped in on a rainy Sunday lunch with our dog during a walk - decided to try the roast - it was delicious and served quickly. The staff and other customers were friendly. Will definitely come back 👍

Did not book a table here as visiting the area we were unaware we needed to. So with this in mind when we arrived for a table of 4 being asked what name was the booking under was a little surprising We explained we had not booked and I have to say the attitude of who I assume the land lady was very abrupt. We always then told we could eat in the restaurant but had to be gone by 3pm (it was only just after 12) We were taken to a table and shortly after food and drinks ordered. Whilst sat a dog was quite noisy and the staff handled it quite well asking the owner to take the dog into another area. The food was not really of a good standard. The fish was well done and the batter a dark brown. The fish was a little wet. The Sunday dinners ere very bland. The pub deco was really nice and very welcoming. When we finished our meal the landlady came over and her attitude was completely different, warm and really friendly. Maybe she was stressed earlier in our visit. Would I visit again? For the food no but for a quite drink and chat yeah

Nice spot for a pub lunch or dinner. Menu is very straightforward - burgers, fish and chips, salads etc. I had a burger, was nice but not wow. The service was great - the staff were very friendly and attentive. Would recommend if passing for a quick bite, but maybe not for a special occasion.

Passed by many times but on this occasion had to meet someone there. I did not sample the fare but the people I met were enjoying their meal in a roomy, interconnected series of rooms. Adequate car parking space and handy for Keston Ponds or Biggin Hill airport.

Pretty good. Food service slow (40 minutes for sandwiches hence the 4 stars). Friendly service, varied menu and good drinks range so all in all a good place to meet for food and drink.

My first time back in quite a while and happy to say it still has it's swagger and proper Brucie Bonus that the sun was shining and the garden was busy.

Lovely evening meal me n my husband had here. Starter n mains. We had the garlic mushrooms for a starter n shared it. Big enough for us both lots of chibbata bread with it, best creamy garlic mushrooms we both ever had in a restaurant 👌 mains hunters chicken n I had noodles with chicken n vegetables. Both lovely can’t fault this pub at all. N the service was very good and all on time we will be returning and I would highly recommend this pub. 👌👌

We held our friends wake here for about 35 people following a recommendation. The food was excellent and plentiful. The staff were very friendly and helpful. Everything ran smoothly and our guests are still praising the food and presentation. Excellent value with a cosy feel. Elena the owner was extremely helpful, warm, frienly and flexible. Well what a lovely lunch. It was my dad's birthday and we booked a table for 6 people. From the moment we walked in, the staff were friendly, welcoming and very attentive. Great food options, including vegetarian and gluten free. One of our party was gluten free and they gave plenty of options and even checked that the dressing was suitable. Would definitely go there again. A big thanks to the staff again for the perfect lunch and making it such an enjoyable experience 🥰

Lovely welcome by staff. Pub was surprisingly busy for a Wednesday afternoon and had a good choice specials as well as a menu with many options. Becky and Kieran were very friendly, food was scrunptious, 2 rib- eye steaks and pork belly for our party of 3. Was recommended by locals who had advised to book. Will definitely be coming back. Great staff, food and 0remises very clean.

I was at a post funeral lunch for a dear friend. The staff did all the mourners proud. A very good lunch.

Okay I'm not one to write reviews but some times when you feel strongly enough you have.to say your piece. We were not a big party only 8 of us with a wide age range from 11 to 83 and some of our party had already been drinking before we arrived. We were very jolly and lively and a few of the youngsters had special food requirements. I'm waffling when really all i want to say is what a fantastic time we all had at The Crown tonight. The food was second to none and the service waa exceptional even down to the young girl 'shadowing' on her first shift It was the first time I've been to the Crown on many years but I will definitely be foinh back again soon 👍

Elaina managed the Wake for Mother. Nothing was too much trouble. She was most helpful in selecting the menu, organising a private area. On the day the arrangements exceeded our expectations. The staff were most helpful in arranging the food, serving drinks and made it a trouble free experience. We would certainly recommend theirs services for a Buffet.

Wonderful atmosphere and very welcoming staff. The food was amazing and had gluten-free options to chose from. We had a lovely private area to celebrate my daughters 16th birthday. I would highly recommend.

All I can say the previous person, when they wrote their review they must have been there on a bad day for the staff. I really cannot fault the food, two us had the vegetable curry, which was absolutely delicious , you must try this curry, so aromatic, coconut was present, the other person had fish, chips and peas, also lovely, large portion of fish. Do not change the curry, it was fab.

Very pleasantly surprised, had not been here for over 20 years, but came today for a family lunch, had the Sunday roast, certainly excelled themselves with the generous helping of lamb excellent value for money highly recommended, also we took our fur babies who were welcomed with open arms!

We recently held our daughters birthday party in the function room. Elena and here staff were so helpful - nothing was too much trouble. The food was lovely and so much of it, the presentation was stunning. We had an amazing evening, everything was perfect. I would highly recommend The Crown Inn, and would definitely hold any future events here. Thank you for helping to make the party such a wonderful occasion.

Excellent Food and service and dog friendly

Popped in for a traditional coffee with Baileys after our long Boxing Day walk. It was our first time trying this at the Crown & it didn't disappoint! One of the best we've had! Delicious, thick velvety cream, full coffee flavour & a kick of Baileys. Pretty perfect

Had a meal here to celebrate Christmas, and all I can say is it was a disgrace. The food was terrible. One person had pate starter that resembled dog food. The main was inedible. When telling the person in charge she got the hump. When ordering our next round of drinks ( we actually had to call a waitress over as no-one cam3 our way for ages) we were bought the wrong drink. The waitress then called me a liar saying I hadn't ordered vodka, but when ordering she had asked me if I wanted grey goose or smirnoff. All in all a terrible evening.

Great venue, food was excellent as well as service. I wouldn't imagine its easy to serve a group of 39 with ease and speed well done to Elana and staff. Very accommodating to us all best roast dinner in ages.

We hadn’t booked a table, but we were made to feel very welcome by the staff, our party comprised of four adults a two year old and a three week old baby (our Grandchildren) We all had various main courses and desserts, with drinks too, the waiter and waitress were very helpful and polite, they also were quick to cater for our Granddaughter who took a shine to a life size statue a of a dog, which one of the waitresses moved to our table, much to the thrill of our aforementioned two year old. It was a really lovely thing to do and much appreciated by all concerned. A very enjoyable experience indeed, I would totally recommend this venue to any family! Thant you very much to all the staff.

19 of us including 5 children celebrated a 60th birthday in the comfortable & spacious private dining space. Elena helped plan a perfect menu & ensured the whole afternoon / evening ran smoothly with the help of a friendly & professional team. Everyone commented on the excellent food, quality & quantity and the great service. It was also excellent value for money. Huge thanks to Elena,chef & team.

Didn't have food, just went in for a coffee after visiting Biggin Hill Heritage Hangar. Lovely cup of coffee and great lig fire..very cosy.

We were around Croydon driving towards Biggin Hills when we chance upon this pub while looking for a place to stop for lunch on a Saturday afternoon. The staff showed to a table and recommended us various mains. We ordered swordfish, steak and fish and chips, and beer and cider, and cakes for desserts. The food we ordered were spot on. The pub was clean and well maintained, and the staff friendly. We enjoyed our lunch very much and we do recommend you to visit this place too.

The staff were amazing ! It’s been ages since I’ve had such good service . I hobbled in on crutches and a dog and nothing was too much trouble , finding me a seat etc . Roast beef was perfect ! Huge portion . But the excellent service will make me return .

I held my retirement drinks here and they gave me the function room which I didn't even have to pay for. I ordered a few platters of food and it was absolutely amazing - all freshly cooked and so much of it. Thank you so much for making my retirement evening very special.

Went to the Crown last night for the first time since the new owners took over. Very impressed! Warmly greeted when we went in by friendly staff. Hadn’t booked for dinner but not a problem! Food was very good and reasonably priced, service was excellent! Will definitely return!

You have to try the specials in here always great value for money. Drinks are always a fair price unlike some other local pubs.

There were 9 of us, including a 4 year old. The food was absolutely superb - great quality, hot and the courses arrived for everyone at the same time. The staff were courteous and attentive and the whole atmosphere was excellent. It was great value for money too.

Very disappointed, we got off the bus around 21:40 Thursday 11th May bcoz it says we’re open; we put down our bags whilst they watch us; we walked towards the bar and we were confronted by one of the kids rudely that they had taken their last order for the day and cannot take any orders. No apologies, nothing. Perhaps, if we were both whites, we would had been welcomed

Just returned from The Crown. A very pleasant pub and beer garden and a nice looking restaurant giving the impression of high quality food. We had drinks and a couple of small meals. My wife had the fish finger sandwich meal which was appalling (certainly not Birds Eye quality which I would have expected) We complained about the quality of her meal and got the impression it wasn’t the first complaint but what astounded me the most was there lack of knowledge in knowing how to handle the situation. The correct way to act would have been to offer a refund, which I probably wouldn’t have accepted but I was surprised when we weren’t even offered a drink by way of an apology. It left a bad taste in our mouths (excuse the pun). They are totally tunnel visioned on money/profit and would not give you anything even when they should. John Fairfield

We were looking for a traditional country pub. Sign said PUB, but it was more like a bar/restaurant. You can't sit up at the bar or casually around it. HOWEVER, we had the food and it didn't disappoint! Prices were reasonable and staff were friendly.

Really enjoyed this pub on our way back from Hever castle. The food was delicious and there is a lovely vibe here and great service too. Highly recommend, we had the Sunday roasts and it was delicious.

Highly recommend this pub for any special occasions. I had my baby shower here on Saturday & Elena was incredible from the first point of contact, the planning to the fine details on the day. We had a grazing board for our group and the food was beautiful. Presentation was also amazing. Elena & her staff were brilliant. Will look forward to returning to the Crown Inn for lots more lunches/dinners.

Just really awful roast - tasted all like it was frozen, over cooked meat that was tough, steamed veg which was awful - no care from the chefs and no idea why its rated so highly - walked all the way from Bromley for the pub based on good ratings

Really lovely atmosphere with lovely xmas songs playing and very spacey to have greag family conversations. Great tasting food that is really great value. Perfect venue for a great family dinner. Only negative is food could have been a little quicker but worth the wait. Would come back in a flash

Sunday lunch for our mums 80th. Perfect! The girls serving us (14 of us) were wonderful. food hot and plentiful.

Lovely restaurant, tried one of the specials. Nice atmosphere too, staff lovely.

Only popped in for a cuppa. We sat in the garden, which could have done with a bit of tlc, but the tea was served on a small wooden tray, teapot,milk ,sugar and 2 little biscuits. Was a good cuppa!

Great place for a Sunday lunch - I had the roast beef which was very good - and very welcoming for families with children too!!

There were three of us and when we booked we were warned they were short staffed. This didn't worry us as it gave time to relax and talk between courses. Our waiter, don't know his name, was very attentive and polite. The food was delicious and presented very well. I would highly recommend.

Very welcoming staff. Lots of space. Very comfy chairs. Roast lamb was lovely. Fresh and nicely cooked. Disappointing no option for cauliflower cheese ( just personal. Understand every chief doesn't feel the need) deserts disappointing again. (For me something and custard is traditional) never the less. Saved me money and inches on the waist...all in all very nice. You should try. Unfortunately for me there are other pubs with what I view a more traditional Sunday lunch. In the area, So won't be top of my list. Sad it's Very near to our home. Hope you enjoy.

i arranged to have my daughters baby shower at the crown this weekend. and would like to say a big thank you to all the staff. nothing was too much trouble. the buffet was superb and all guests commented how excellent it was. i would highly recommend the crown and will definately have any future event s here xx
