A work federation event, my first visit. Detailed architecture beautiful. Food pretty good but not excellent. Not easy to find but Farringdon tube the best way as parking challenging. Bathroom facilities do not match the numbers capable of dining so please note. No good for anyone not able bodied

La chiesa di St. Etheldreda's (vedi recensione) è uno dei pochissimi edifici medievali sopravvissuti a Londra e una delle chiese cattoliche più antiche in Inghilterra. Si sviluppa su due livelli con l'ingresso alla cripta indipendente rispetto a quello della cappella. Con mio grande stupore ho constatato che la cripta viene utilizzata per eventi e banchetti (magari dopo matrimoni e battesimi). Certo molto suggestivo l'ambiente ma per me alquanto insolito l'utilizzo, visto che non sembra un luogo sconsacrato. Comunque quando "libera", la cripta è liberamente visitabile.

Ir a St. Etheldreda y no ir a la cripta es imperdonable. Si no hay nadie sólo abran la puerta prendan las luces y bajen esas delicadas escaleras y se encuentra con esta maravilla.

Me encantó asistir a una boda familiar aquí en la cripta. la comida era excelente, a pesar de que atendían a muchos. Gran ambiente gótico. Recomendaría.

We had an event at The Crypt and the view that greeted us when we arrived was a shocker. It indeed is a venue to be awed. However the food fell far short of expectations. The salmon had a fishy smell and there was an abundance of lamb with little taste but a strong lashing of fat. The apple cheesecake was the saviour of the evening. Come for the ambience but not much else.

A year ago today I was a newly married man and walked through the entrance of the Crypt and just froze – I was totally stunned and lost for words. To this day I still cannot find he words to describe the just how beautiful and magical it was to see this amazing venue glowing with candlelight and subtle lighting highlighting the great features of this gothic crypt. Catering for our guests was never going to be easy, but with the amazing selection of food available from the Bleeding Heart restaurant, who run the events here, made satisfying even the fussiest of eaters a piece of cake. They coped with our many special requirements with ease with children’s options, vegetarian option, gluten free options and more. Every one of our guests thoroughly enjoyed their meal. Aurora, the events supervisor, was a delight to work with planning our big day. She made everything really easy for us. The staff on the night were very professional and well-presented and I know there was a lot of hard work behind the scenes to make everything perfect. The resident DJ, Dave, is great. Our music selection was incredibly varied from pop to metal. He totally got the vibe of the event playing the family friendly pop early in the evening and then cracking up the metal towards the end of the night for me and my friend to rock out to! He also provided the amazing up-lighting that made to room just come to life. Every time I think back to that day I am filled with joy, remembering the amazing day I got to spend with friends and family at such an amazing venue. I can’t wait to return to the Bleeding Heart restaurant to celebrate by 1 year anniversary.

We attended a wedding breakfast here after a wedding at the Temple Church. The food was absolutely excellent, as was the service. I really recommend for such an occasion.

Invited to a wedding reception at this venue which definitely has the wow factor, it is a stunning place and not morbid at all. Canapes served were delicious and the lighting/candles/decorations just right.

Very well organised banquet catering. Very nice seasonal food, good wines and all served efficiently and unobtrusively. Extremely impressed.

We enjoyed a terrific celebratory dinner for 100 guests in The Crypt and the compliments are still pouring in commenting on the amazing venue, delicious food and impeccable service. Aurora was absolutely fantastic at every stage of the planning process and delivery of this event. She could not have made it any easier for us; it was fun rather than the chore that it could so easily have been. Her colleagues on the night were amazing. They were so cheerful and professional and just couldn’t do enough to help. There were no hidden extras when the final invoice arrived. I cannot recommend this beautiful venue highly enough.

I attended as a guest and we were served with some very good food in this historic location. All staff very well drilled. Good atmosphere with cafe close by.

I went here for my work Christmas party. The first thing I noticed was how beautiful it was. It is a unique venue and it looked very Christmassy and welcoming. The food service was seamless and the food utterly delicious. We had salmon and crab to start, which was really tasty but the highlight for me was the beef main. The meat was so beautifully cooked and tasted amazing. This was followed by a chocolate dessert which was so good. I am used to Christmas party food not really being up to scratch but this was absolutely brilliant. I think this has to be the best Christmas party venue I’ve ever been to. It is large enough for 100 plus people but also small enough to feel intimate. A perfect evening.

The food was okay, they have set menus for every day. There was a Jazz Night the evening we visited and the music sounded nice.

They have lunch and dinner. Yesterday they closed at 5pm because of an event but how can you beat home made shepherds pie and all the trimmings for about twelve dollars. Remember, you do not have to buy a drink and there are glasses with cool pictures of water after paying.... This is the best bargain when you are tired of the pub grub and sandwiches! Oh, yesterday they had vegetariana lasagna as well, so vegetarians are welcome

We held our wedding reception at the crypt under St Etheldreda's church in Farringdon in October and could not have dreamed of a more beautiful and perfect wedding for us. The atmosphere in the crypt is truly magical when decorated with flowers and candles, the food, from the Bleeding Heart Restaurant who manage this venue, was delicious and absolutely perfectly cooked. The team at the crypt are so experienced and organised, and were so accommodating to all of our requests. We had a lot of instructions as we could not set up the room on the morning of the wedding or the day before, and bernoit and his team did everything meticulously- they made it quite clear we were to totally enjoy the day and not worry about a thing. They had absolutely everything under control. They knew exactly how long everything would take and knew how many drinks to supply and they were perfectly generous with the pouring of the champagne!! The quality of all the food and drinks and the quality of staff was extremely high. We had the most incredible day- and would do it all again in a flash with the same people at the same venue, it was truly perfect.

This is a crypt. I went with a group attending a charity do. Well organised with good food and a great atmosphere.

The Crypt is located under St. Martin-in-the-Fields church and they serve good but simple foods, coffees and teas, nice desserts. The ambiance is much brighter than it used to be, but keep in mind this area was used as a bomb shelter during the London...

The Crypt is fun to experience for the location. The restaurant is a cafeteria with a limited selection, but pretty good prices. It was relatively quick and hit the spot.

The food is fine for lunch -- not fussy -- mainly sandwiches and a couple of hot dishes that change, and very inexpensive. But the room itself, an underground sort of dungeon-like setting, is not to be missed. Cafeteria style.
