02.01.2025 Had a beautiful meal here today. A group of three. Excellent service provided by Aaron and Emily. There is nothing that is too much trouble. Decor and layout have much improved under new ownership. Especially the toilets. Can't wait for the next visit.

Fantastic food since the refurb and nice friendly service. If you want the harvester experience this is not for you but if you are after a great British pub experience do not hesitate!

Under new ownership since beginning of December. Wow food was amazing, we had the sea bass and caramelised pork - freshly cooked - great presentation. Will be visiting again soon!

First visit with new owners verypoor service, should have employed exprehenced staff not those who have never worked in a pub. No keen on menu would prefer more plain food. Doubt if we will go back.

Always short staffed. Kitchen closed at 6pm tonight?? Not the first time the Kitchen has closed early. It's a shame, because the food is good grub. Update:December 2024 The Dog and Partridge has been refurbished and new management introduced. Much better service. Turkey roast was delicious. Table 25 is like a private lounge with it's own TV, it can sit 9 customers comfortably. Really like what they have done with the place. Merry Christmas 🎅.

Recently changed ownership I believe? Nice home cooked food, relaxing and cosy atmosphere. Great service. Ps I had soup of the day to start and then triple Cumberland sausage with mash/onion gravy. Very tasty.

Leavers of Woodside County Primary School 1986-1989 met yesterday for a delicious and plentiful reunion buffet in North Stifford. Shout out to Bobby and staff at the pub for making our event run so smoothly…nothing was too much for them and everyone enjoyed their drinks and the wide range of foods: Crispy Prawns Nachos (V) Onion Rings with BBQ Sauce (V) BBQ-Glazed Chicken Wings Garlic Bread (V) Beer-Battered Salt and Pepper Mushrooms* with Blue Cheese Sauce (V) Salt and Chilli Chicken Fries with Spicy Salsa Sauce Mozzarella and Jalapeño Sticks* with Sweet Chilli Sauce (V) Vegetable Samosas with Mango Chutney (VE) Cheese and Tomato Wrap (V) BLT Wrap Southern-Fried Chicken Wrap They set up the area with our buffet so beautifully and I would recommend it as an ideal place for a get-together.

Four people for dinner brought out meals one at a time, had to ask for cutlery then had to go to the bar and ask for a steak knife for the gammon steak.Food terrible even with the steak knife was hard to cut the gammon steak,Chicken in the curry could have used as a cricket ball, the scampi was just mush but the steak was fine . Wouldn’t recommend and won’t be back.

Me and my daughter went on a Sunday. We pre-booked our table in advance because we know Sundays are busy. We could not fault the food or service, and will definitely return again. The price was very favourable too.

The food is delicious and a good quantity. Lovely place to come for quite social drinks. Big beer garden for sitting during the summer months in the sunshine.

We went two weeks in a row for Sunday lunch. The first week was pretty decent, nice food and great service. The second week was poor. Slow service, the mains were ok but our three desserts came out one at a time, 5-10 minutes apart and the waitress took one empty plate away at a time but didn't bother with the third plate. Two of the desserts were sundaes and were not good. Mainly air and ice-cream in a glass and topped with a smidging of cream, and not a patch on the previous week. When we asked the staff why it was so different on the second visit they said they were short staffed and asked the duty manager to come and see us. She took my partner's name and number and said we'd get a call to resolve the issue. Two weeks later and we've heard nothing.

Such a lovely bar, the service was great, the staff were amazing, welcoming and very friendly, our server bobby was such a delight he was very helpful and a great guy all round

Very pleasant visit, food was lovely, drinks were lovely. Extremely nice service, quick, efficient and friendly. Our server, Shawn, was so lovely. Kept us updated throughout as my meal wasn’t ready the same time as the others. Shawn is extremely lovely and well mannered and definitely helped our experience.

Absolutely blown away by the service at the Dog and Partridge. Welcomed as soon as we arrived, was guided through the allergen menu, food came out piping hot and was handled with care and the drinks were nice and cold! We are new to the area and I think we have found our new local!

Don't know where to begin! We arrived a little early and walked in and our table was right by door which was perfect as was really hot but table was ready. Food was totally amazing hot and tasted perfect could not of faulted the food at all or service. Only downside was the app was not working so I had to go upto bar to make orders so was slightly frustrating.

I loved the size of the ultimate plates. And the size of the chicken wings were amazing. It made a change to have a different flavour of J2O than the standard everywhere does. Customer service was great also. Friendly staff.

I recently ordered a salad, and unfortunately, it was one of the most disappointing culinary experiences I've encountered. The lettuce arrived with unsightly brown edges, while the tomatoes were crudely chopped into large, flavourless pieces. The onions fared no better, lacking any semblance of finesse or flavour. It was evident that minimal care and thought went into the preparation. Frankly, my three-year-old granddaughter could have assembled a more appetizing dish. Given its 4.8-star rating on Google, the quality of this salad was a shocking disappointment. On a plus note the staff were pleasant. Maybe order a packet of crisps with your drink would be my advice.

Just had the mixed grill at "The Dog and Partridge" and wow, what an experience! This place isn’t just a Pub it’s a meaty adventure. The mixed grill arrived on a platter so large, I thought they might have repurposed a Viking shield. It was a glorious sight: a carnivorous cornucopia that made my inner caveman weep with joy. There was so much meat, I was half-expecting PETA to burst in and stage a protest. The steak was cooked to perfection, medium-rare just like I ordered. Juicy, tender, and so flavorful I briefly considered writing it a love letter. Next to it sat the ribs so succulent that it practically melted in my mouth. I’m pretty sure I heard angels sing when I took the first bite, perfectly seasoned and so tender it could be cut with a spoon. Honestly, if I were a cow, I'd volunteer to be part of this dish. And the chicken? Let’s just say if all chickens tasted like this, there would be no need for other birds. It was smoky, juicy, and had just the right amount of char.

Have been coming here a long time, but can honestly say they have finally got it right. Just had the best meal so far from this pub - lovely fresh side salad too. Really good meal for pub chain food and great value. I don’t generally leave reviews, but was so impressed I had to give them a mention.

Not been here in a while but food was much better and you got what you ordered I give it 4 star's for one reason and that's because one of the bar staff was not on the ball giving warm classes with drinks

Food very good and well priced. Ambience great although quite crowded, unfortunately the party next to our table were very loud and we were struggling to hear what was being said in our party.

The ambience of the pub was very nice and the service was very attentive. My wife did find it quite cold in the restaurant though. She had the tikka massala and it was in a lovely sauce. I had the chicken and mushroom pie and I was extremely disappointed. The pastry was really hard and the insides was a bit tasteless. So overall the food was a bit hit and miss unfortunately but couldn't fault the service.

The food, staff and atmosphere were all good. No one rushed us it was very relaxing.

Wanted to post this review after just randomly popping in to the pub after a walk with the dog and family. Never thought of it before and I can say what a silly mistake that was. Great family friendly pub, lovely bar staff and to be fair great pub food. Very clean and tidy. Great outdoor space too and cannot wait to go back. Would definitely recommend even for a quick pint.

Had to wait sometime for food but when it came it was delicious, it did get a bit noisy at times( couldn't hear each other the other side of the table mainly because of a group of men looked like having a few drinks after work, but overall enjoyed the food and it's a nice pub

Booked this pub for a birthday meal for my mum as she loves the pub. Asked in the special requests to make the eve special and the staff really made it lovely by adding some balloons and giving her a birthday drink on the house. Food was great and staff are lovely - thank you!

If you like salmon I can highly recommend the salmon sizzler. I tucked in before I took a photo but it was delicious :-) I think the food has come on a lot since the new manager has taken over

We were shown to our seats.The set out of the tables at the far side of the pub was very secluded and near the toilets and a dart board which were used by the regular patrons. Trying to have a pleasant Mother’s Day meal was unfortunately noisy and disturbed. We were put off returning for another booked family meal purely for the seating experience. Food was nice and service was good but was not happy with the location of the table.

Nice pub with huge beer garden, very friendly pub, staff are friendly and whole pub/restaurant clean, dog friendly and activities throughout the year (Easter, quiz nightss etc)

This is a really pleasant pub:restaurant we thought it looked very clean and smelled lovely the only thing I would say is the toilets are in need of a little refurbishment but otherwise very clean. The food is also very good with lovely staff

This is a lovely warm clean and tidy pub with excellent food and friendly staff it is also set in a lovely location and much cheaper than eating at Lakeside

Food is very good for money. Nice pub.

The staff are really friendly and helpful and the drinks are pretty reasonably priced for the area. Sadly they rarely have any real ale on draft but do have some in bottles. I love going there for the outdoor area which has great views over the countryside. I haven't eaten there for a really long time so can't comment on the food. I'm often there at the weekends in the evening. Recommended

Let me begin with the staff! Absolutely amazing, friendly and kind staff, very welcoming and always smiling and very helpful. The food was literally the best meal out I have had in a while, very delicious, cooked to perfection and large portions. I have an allergy to Lactose and the staff were brilliant, helped with what I could and couldn't eat and what they could alter or change for me. Never had service like this with regards to my allergy, they are definitely on point and care about the customers needs here! Great value for money. We had a great night out, few drinks and food. We will definitely go back even though Miles away from where we live because you just Cannot beat thw service we got here, the service with a smile, the great atmosphere along with great food too! Here you have it all in one and for me the place and staff was perfect. Thank you all very much for a wonderful evening, we will be back soon. 😊👍

Went to the dog and partridge today for a lunch I had a chicken burger with dirty fries and my friend had hunters chicken the food was amazing tasted amazing the 2 ladies behind the bar was polite and so was the young boy working on the floor asking if everything was okay will definitely be returning

Came by this little gem of a pub yesterday at about 6:30pm and was pleasantly surprised. Food came reasonably quickly, was absolutely delicious and washed down beautifully with a few drinks. My server Rob (I'm assuming Robert) was very kind, polite and had elite banter. Great staff, great food 10/10 would visit again

I went here with my family for a meal, the food was amazing, the food come out really fast and the standards were so high. Bar staff were brilliant. The manager was also so lovely and welcoming to myself and family.

I took my friend who had never been before and really enjoyed it. The young lady Molly was very polite but the young boy came across slightly aggressive, how ever the bar man was lovely as was the food!

Had the Salmon meal was absolutely delicious. The real ale was amazing to.met up with friends Wow would absolutely recommend. Xx

We came here for a family lunch and it was lovely! Food and service amazing. Friendly atmosphere! Cosy family pub and they have “Monday club” re half price on selected drinks! Apparently Quiz night on Tuesdays! Lovely big garden area which is great in the summer with the kids! Totally recommend ❤️
