Another great night out, with excellent food, service and atmosphere. Though the dining area was very busy, we were seen to very efficiently and served promptly. Thank you again Dukes Head.

We were a table of 14, at 6.30 on a busy Tuesday night, we also had to be out promptly as we were going to a gig nearby. The waitress was AMAZING. She managed to get all our orders of beers and wine and food all to the right people and we were served so quickly. She also had a smile on her face. Annoyingly I didn't get her name, but she was a STAR. The food was delicious, we had burgers, sausages and mash, the pie, and various other winter warmers and they were all very good. We will definitely return.

Lovely welcome. Wonderful atmosphere & the pub was decorated beautifully, so festive. We were meeting as a family of 7. Very long wait for our starters & huge waits between each course. It didn’t bother us at all as we spending the time catching up & chatting & we all realised how difficult it is to get each course for 7 people out at the same time & same temperature. And also the pub was packed! Our waitress was delightful & apologised very graciously between each course for the wait. The food was good. Could’ve done with an extra jug of gravy for the turkey as there wasn’t nearly enough on the plate & the sprouts were a little more than ‘al dente’ but apart from that it was all delicious. Drinks were delivered promptly & efficiently even though we all ordered a varying array of drinks. Thank you for a lovely afternoon & we will definitely be returning.

This was our third visit to The Duke’s Head and massively exceeded our expectations ahead of Christmas! We enjoyed a family traditional Sunday Roast in the upstairs Wolsey Room overlooking Putney Bridge. The food and atmosphere were amazing and the service from Lucita was personal, engaging and efficient throughout our visit. Our final thanks to the chef. Your skills turned a Sunday lunch into a real treat and we look forward to returning in the New Year. Happy Christmas!

We organised a reunion lunch for ten on a Sunday - really enjoyable, nice ambience, good food and outstanding service.

Came for a Sunday dinner- great roasts and selection of sides and share plates. Had a minor miscommunication during ordering which the staff went above and beyond to rectify, really made our night special. Pork roast was particularly generous!

The staff was very nice and the service fast even if they were full on both floors and outside. 16° today and sun! Yuppie! And even if it was full, they accommodated us in the bar area. The Sunday's roast was spectacular! My second Sunday roast in London because I tried in a restaurant on the first floor in London Bridge ( forgotten the name of that one, that is telling something, right?) and it had just the price of it, not the size not the tast either! My daughter also wanted the venison carpaccio, which was lovely too, but my belly was too full to have more than a tiny bite. Hers too!

Sarah and Rebecca made this the most spectacularly memorable lunch for all the family. The food was unbelievably good and the service left us very happy indeed.

As always, The Duke's Head is the perfect place for lunch! Love sitting looking at the river and the dining room is so lovely. They have a new menu with many more vegan options which is fantastic for me. We both had the Oyster Mushroom and Leek Pie, with Mash and Broccoli and it was absolutely superb. My friend who isn't vegan loved it too! Our waitress was Lucita and she was friendly, very helpful, bright and bubbly - an absolute joy. Always look forward to my next visit!!

As newlyweds we would like to say a massive thank you to Reece and all his brilliant staff for hosting our wedding breakfast and evening reception. The food is excellent and our party of 40 were well looked after. Our wedding breakfast took place in the newly decorated Wolsey room at the top. An excellent venue for our group of 40. Our evening reception took place downstairs in the rowing club. A top venue for our additional evening guests that opens up onto the embankment. A great place for a private function. Definately worth a look for your wedding celebrations.

A great find we came upon as we walked along the river. We had a fabulous table inside that looked out onto the river. Fabulous view. I ordered fish and chips; portion was huge and the chips delicious. My husband loved the haddock fishcakes. Highly recommend!

We booked a table for four, for Sunday lunch today. We were greeted and seated by Joe, who immediately put us at ease with his infectious smile and banter, all the while he still maintained a professional and discreet demeanor - everything you want from you staff. We explained our dietary requirements and he couldn't of been more helpful, he came back from the kitchen having discussed with the chef and explained our choices. The food was (Sunday roast) was well presented, delicious and the only fault I had was I wanting more ;) The decor in the Dukes head, was lovely with great views directly of the Thames, the other members of staff were equally friendly and helpful too. Overall a great place to eat, with staff that make it that bit more special.

Thought my friends and I would try it out here so came for a late lunch. It was empty so a good choice of tables but given the time of arrival, was a dead quiet atmosphere. The service was nice and friendly but the food was definitely not up to scratch, especially at those prices!! Definitely have had much better food at cheaper prices than that elsewhere! The seafood risotto I ordered was nothing but salty, no fresh seafood taste at all and the gritty risotto seemed half cooked. My friends's food orders didn't fair much better either so definitely won't be coming back again!

Always an excellent dining experience at The Dukes Head, it has become a regular spot for us.

They make a great Espresso Martini, so 10/10 from me. Great Thameside location, perfect destination if heading out from the city on the Uber Thames Clipper…. Stop is a stones throw away.

I had my 30th birthday in The Den and it was fantastic! The staff were so helpful and accommodating, the food was delicious and the vibe was brilliant. Highly highly recommend!

First of all I will clearly say, Dukes Head is a great pub. I have been coming here for years. But my recent visit was less than acceptable. 6 of us went for dinner, two adults and four 16/17 year olds, and they refused to allow them to have a beer or a glass of wine with the meal, even though the law clearly states this is allowed. They claimed it was company policy. Quoted from Government Website: " if you’re 16 or 17 and accompanied by an adult, you can drink (but not buy) beer, wine or cider with a meal" By the time they made a big fuss and refused, it was too late to go anywhere else at short notice and get a table for 6. Perhaps in the future they should skulk away in the local parks with bottles of vodka? So if you are planning a family visit with some16/17 year olds, who would like to enjoy a social (and legal) drink with a meal, think again and go somewhere else.

I just had my first visit to Duke's Head with some friends, and it was awesome! The pub is right by the river in Putney, which makes for a really nice vibe. Sachelle, our server, was super friendly and made sure we were taken care of without being over the top. She had great recommendations for food and drinks, which definitely added to our fun. I left with a great impression and can’t wait to come back to Duke's Head. If you're in the area, definitely check it out!

The Dukes Head is truly a special and amazing place. We had our wedding this past Saturday and everything turned out so lovely and wonderful. The team were supper attentive, and made sure all was smooth and our guests had the best food and best time. The food was incredible and we enjoyed it so much - as well as the wedding ceremony in the Wolsey room - highly recommend it for a cosy and intimate wedding. The organisation was great and the team, specially Rebecca was supper attentive with all of our requests the months before our wedding. She helped us with the menus and wines and we are incredibly grateful. During the night we had the best time at the downstairs area with the bar to ourselves, our guests loved it - and the team again was amazing to work with, specially Joe! All around 5-star experience!

We went here on spur of the moment earlier this week - and what a great pub. Lovely view overlooking the Thames by Putney Bridge and tasty food, nicely presented. Have to say I had Haddock and chips - haddock was great and chips were the best I've ever tasted!! Thank you to Robbie, our waiter, who was attentive to our requests, nothing was too much trouble. Will definitely be back when we are in the area, thank you :)

Food was fine if slightly cold. My friend arrived before me and was asked if she’d like a drink several times but she said she’d wait for me to arrive. However once I arrived we sat for 30 minutes before asking the waitress if we could order when she walked by our table. It wasn’t busy when we arrived so I was just slightly disappointed that no one came to our table or seemed to notice we had nothing to drink for that long.

A beautiful looking and wonderfully located pub set on the south side of the Thames in Putney. Nothing not to like.

Quiet afternoon and had one guy conducting a full on business meeting on his phone but a nice pub. Staff were pleasant, good range of drinks and reasonable price for the area.

Joe was absolutely fantastic! Attentive, knowledgeable of the menu and was happy to help with the important decision making. Everything was excellent but above all the service was outstanding! At the very end of the evening, dinner in the dining room was quiet but the atmosphere was made by our brilliant server.

Dropped in for cheeky meal and watch England play Slovakia. Not to busy and meal was excellent, (a few more chips would be 5 stars)

We had the most delicious Sunday lunch here! The waitress Kayla was absolutely amazing, so attentive to us and one of our allergies, really went above and beyond to make sure we were covered. Such a great meal and the restaurant is beautiful!

We had a lovely lunch in the Dukes Head restaurant as usual! Robbie served us and was brilliant (especially with our toddler) the fish and chips and gnocchi was all spot on… oh and the basque cheese cake!!

They should have refused the booking. The pub was hosting a wedding and the service and food were both neglected. Still charged me £37 for a ribeye steak, but served cold, late and rubbery. Unfortunately with small kids we don’t have the liberty to send food back, specially when it’s delayed so we’re forced to eat and leave. Not once did anyone bother asking how our food was or would have told them. Unfortunately it’s a beautiful pub but this will be our last visit for food.

Went for Sunday lunch my roast dinner was vile beef was tough Cheryl.. yorkshire pudding was hard...you could not eat and the cabbage veg was hard not cooked. The worst Sunday lunch we had we won't go there ever again...dissapointed.

We thought it was quote nlisy in the restaursnt although we had beautiful views of the river. The beef was tough the cabbage was raw and yorkshire pudding hard. 2 prawns for £10 was ludicrous

My experience at the pub was nice, the food was delicious, well served, excellent presentation and very tasty. The view from the pub is stunning as well as the look of the pub and well presented tables at the dinning room. However, this experience was tarnished by the service from the front of house. First, I had booked for a lunch and when I arrived this person told me there is no available table in the dining room as all was booked and I could use any other table in the pub. I said I had a book, which he replied "you didn't tell me" (in a very condescending and disrespectful manner) and I said yes I did, then he asked me for allergies and I heard something different and I asked for tap water which he replied "i asked if there's any allergies" (again in a rude way and a fake smile). It was very disappointing that just one person can make such a difference during the visit, instead the waitress were very kind and attentive. At the end of my visit I waited a long time to pay the bill so I went up to the desk where this person was talking with another member of the staff and completely ignored me. I need to ask another bar staff, who asked me to return to the same desk and then I said I would like to pay who seemed put out to do it. I honestly feel very disappointed as I really like everything else there but I wouldn't back if I would receive the same treatment.

The Duke's Head is a Putney institution. I have been a patron for 20 years. I hadn't been for a meal in a year or two, and it's clear that standards have remained high since the upgrade to the menu and dining space a few years back. Had excellent haddock fish cakes, and my friend had haddock fish and chips that looked great too.

Great food, service and atmosphere.

Duke's Head is probably one of my favourite pubs in London. It's a beautiful pub in an ideal spot next to the river. Expect to pay a bit more but one thing that always keeps me coming is the service. The bar staff are great. They are friendly, animated and vibrant. This makes for a super pleasant and laid back atmosphere, which I enjoy. The cleanliness is excellent and staff take care to wipe and clear the tables quickly.

Great pub with great atmosphere and the manager Rhys is friendly and helpful. Very accommodating to my dietary requirements.
