Great food, good service but the room was too cold. They need to turn the heating on a lot earlier on very cold days!

Delightful ambiance and delicious food with vegan and gluten free options. In contrast with other pubs, we didn’t have to wait long for our food. Make sure to book on weekends because it’s full. The only downside was that it was a bit too noisy, including an unruly dog yapping a lot for a little while, though this didn’t detract too much from the lovely experience.

Best Sunday lunch, the beef was delicious, the staff are friendly and Knowledgeable, what not to love!

Lovely pub and delicious food. The service was fab - we weren’t rushed and staff had right balance of checking if we wanted anything. A bit pricy but that’s drinks in any pub these days.

We went to the Fox and Grapes unplanned, booking at the last minute. It was excellent. Two courses, great wine selection, excellent service (from Louie especially). Despite living locally I don’t think we’ve been since 2022 - we won’t take as long going back.

Never keen having dogs hoovering around my table when eating. Also I wish the staff had been trained to remind customers the main courses had no potatoes or greens and that we should order side dishes. This not only made the guinea fowl very boring but also cost the restaurant the same of at least 2 side dishes. The waitresses were charming but had clearly not been trained. Finally get a decent cork screw. To expect a young woman to struggle with a basic old fashioned hand screw is a little cheap and rather pathetic. The food and wine we had was excellent but it could have been so much better.

Better food than the other ‘gastro’ pubs in the area. I think they have a new chef. On this latest visit, the food was good, but we waited nearly an hour between starter and main… service was patchy - some fantastic staff working really hard are let down by some of the service team. Still a good choice for quality food in a pub on the edge of the common.

Like the Fox & Grapes: good choices on menu and drinks. Venue good. Bit pricey. Not full today but quite noisy with those there.

The outstanding memory of todays meal was the waiting staff. They were efficient and attentive dealing with issues efficiently. Less impressive was the food. Pie dry, roast Beef tough as leather. I wasn’t going to write a review but checking previous reviews I note that is a common complaint.

We just had such a lovely welcoming Sunday lunch at the F&G. Delicious food, no issues on our requests for more gravy and custard! Everything was yummy and Phoebe who looked after us made sure the room was warm and chatted to us and made us feel very well looked after - can’t wait to come back soon.

The fox and grapes is a very nice place to eat. We ordered the sirloin of beef unfortunately it was very tough and chewy. We both had difficulty cutting the meat. I left quite a lot of the meat and ordered a pudding for both of us it was apple crumble what I didn’t know is how hot the outside of the bowl was and burnt both fingers. All in all it was a disappointing lunch and an expensive mistake.

Relaxed surroundings, friendly staff. Delicious food. Always enjoy the F&G. Will be back soon.

The food was excellent as always but the service was incredibly slow . We waited an hour for a starter but in all fairness when we complained , we were given complimentary drinks and the charge for the starter was removed from the bill.

Cuando llegamos había algunas mesas para dos y un par de mesas para tres disponibles. Estábamos acomodados a la mesa junto a la entrada del inodoro. Pedí una mesa diferente y se produjo un largo debate en el que se nos dijo que no había otras mesas disponibles debido a los «momentos». Pregunté qué significaba eso y no obtuve respuesta, así que nos sentamos en una mesa diferente, pero sentimos que era una verdadera lucha y no estamos contentos con el trato que recibimos. El entrante de Welsh rarebit no era bueno y la carne asada también era muy promedio, patatas asadas y pudín Yorkshire eran suaves, etc. Hay mucho mejores asados de domingo disponibles localmente. En general muy decepcionante.

We were a party of 3 for lunch. Food was good but a bit disappointed that their kitchen could only offer one sauce option for the fish of the day (fillet of sea bream) which was not to my taste (chmichurri). So had to order something else. Also the restaurant was not to warm.

He estado cenando desde Nouvelle Cuisine a finales de los 80 y gracias al personal Kevin y James sintieron ese pedazo de historia. Preguntado. durante cada curso por mi experiencia y no upselling, encantador. El plato de pasta de setas silvestres era una delicia cremosa de setas.

Above average pub food and excellent, friendly and professional service. Was quite quiet on a Saturday lunchtime. Personally didn't like the wine list and rather expensive Rioja in poor condition. Frankly didn't think it was good value.

Love this place - very good food and lovely setting

Good evening out. Pub was busy but not overwhelming. We had a good table and able to talk without shouting at each other. Great service...positive, attentive and well timed. Food was good standard pub food - we had fish and chips and burgers. Nothing special but well cooked and presented. Would recommend.

Had a lovely evening celebrating my mum's birthday there. The food was super delicious, the service was amazing, our waitress was super lovely and everyone made sure we had an amazing time. Would recommend it!

Reservamos aquí para una estancia de dos noches durante la quincena de tenis solo para desear que habíamos elegido un establecimiento diferente. Nuestra propia experiencia aquí era de un ambiente "aburrido" y ninguna forma de una cálida bienvenida a su llegada. Al entrar en nuestra habitación parece que pagas más por menos, ya que aunque trivial según la hoja de bienvenida / información debería haber una máquina de café disponible que no era ... ni siquiera sobres de café proporcionados, pronto nos damos cuenta de que la leche en la primera mañana estaba en su fecha de 'caducidad', la segunda mañana la leche proporcionada también estaba en su fecha de 'caducidad', pero en esta ocasión estaba 'apagando' como cuando se hace una taza de café (nuestra propia proporcionada) la leche cuajada que dejamos para que el personal lo vea por sí mismo. Pasando al baño, mis observaciones fueron un lavabo con lo que parecía ser un drenaje bloqueado... al cepillarme los dientes o simplemente tener un lavado facial rápido esto resultó en que el lavabo se llenara lentamente y tomara bastante tiempo para vaciarse, también el calentador de toallas montado en la pared no se abrochó de manera segura ya que al colocar una toalla sobre él el calentador se separó de la pared, al ducharme también noté una mancha de orina en la parte inferior interior de la puerta de la ducha, lo que fue lo menos alarmante. Un problema de salud y seguridad que me preocupa es la luz de emergencia sobre la puerta de salida de nuestra habitación... la placa trasera estaba allí para ver, pero no había ningún accesorio de iluminación montado que para mí es la diferencia entre salir a salvo en una habitación llena de humo o quedar atrapado, tengo que agregar que todos los demás pasillos fuera de las habitaciones los tenían en su lugar. Así que aparte de todo lo anterior, la habitación parecía bastante limpia, pero no lo que refleja el precio de venta (£ 600 por 2 noches), como es el caso del llamado desayuno continental, es lindo, pero no justifica dicho precio de venta y no hay una opción de desayuno cocinado disponible. Además como el establecimiento no está abierto lunes/martes no hay ningún miembro del personal, solo el medio de comunicación es un número móvil de emergencia para contactar. Por el precio que hemos pedido anteriormente hemos tenido mejores experiencias en otros establecimientos alrededor de la zona de Wimbledon, así que nos hemos quedado muy decepcionados aquí. Debemos concluir diciendo que esta es nuestra propia experiencia, por lo que no podemos hablar en nombre de nadie más, pero recomiendo encarecidamente que miremos a otro lado antes de tomar una decisión.

The ambience, as ever, is fab. The food is very good, but not yet excellent, the apple crumble crumble itself was over done (slightly). The service is very variable, from a serious and direct waitress to a timid and smiley waitress (requires consistency of approach). Generally the waitresses are good, but clearly rushed off their feet, when they’re not have a chat. They need to very regularly scan the dining room more and come over (we have to wave them over 3 times, taking a while to grab their attention while they were chatting, looking away from tables). The Sunday roast is VERY good and a generous portion, just the service to work on as a priority,

I recommend this gastro pub the Sunday roast is one of the best in the area, you won't be disappointed. Try to get a table in the top area because in the bottom area you can feel a little out of it

Whilst the food was great, service was slow. I asked what the pie of the day was tobe told steak and ale, after ordering it was actually chicken. Whilst tasty wasn't what my sister expected. We didn't raise a fuss as it was very tasty. We shared a desert after but between eating our mains and ordering dessert we waited around 20 mins for our plates to be cleared Whilst others around us were cleared and served. Noone came to do a check back or ask if we wanted more drinks. We were staying in the rooms above and after we had eaten I was sat on the terrace and privy to a conversation between the bar manager and another waitress and could gather they were very short staffed and had have someone go home early on shift leaving them short. this explains the wait on our table and as a restaurant manager myself I'm very sympathetic. I will still definitely go again and hope the staff issues are resolved as this restaurant and its rooms are incredibly cute and rustic

I love the Fox and Grapes and have visited many times. But on bank holiday Monday they just didn’t get it right. Our service was so slow - we were in the restaurant for 2 and a half hours. We waited over an hour for our main course. Some food (burgers and the tomahawk steak) were enjoyed but I had the pie of the day and it was terrible - glutinous non descript filling, tiny in size and tasteless. The mash potato was also pretty tasteless and the hispi cabbage just too small. The sweet young people serving us didn’t know the menu details and when it was obvious we were getting a bit fed up, they were charming but didn’t resolve anything. I must say that when we eventually got our pudding, we weren’t charged for it, so that goes some way to putting the service and food quality issues right.

The location is very pretty but it took 20 minutes from being sat down to receive our drinks. The roast is very over priced- Yorkshire puddings had turned into meringues which was disappointing.

The fish of the day was great, but the lamb was mediocre. It being Saturday night service understandably struggled a little. Decent food, lovely location but a huge discrepancy between the price and the quality, I don’t think I would rate this pub above any of the others in the area any longer.

Was nice overall but was hard to get any attention - plates weren’t cleared as usual to then offer a look at the dessert menu so decided against pudding and went to bar to pay. Steak medium not rare. Cauliflower cheese and Rocket salad were good.

Went for dinner with my wife and both of us were very disappointed with our meals. I had a ham hock starter which was OK. My wife had crab, it was far too salty and served on toast that was rock hard so she couldn't eat it. For mains I had a meat pie and mash. The pie was exceptionally small with hardly any filling, very poor - could have got a much better quality pie at any supermarket. My wife had lamb chops. The quality of the chops appeared to be very cheap as the chops had alot of grissle in them that could not be eaten. They were also too salty. Had two scoops of ice cream afterwards. With three pints of beer the meal costs over £100. Total waste of money and we wont be going backMore

Beautiful pub and ambience however a little pricey and the food is good overall but can be mixed - for example the fat chips are excellent, the rib eye steak that evening a little tough.

The service started very slow but improved. Once again, they were under staffed. That said, the staff who were there, worked incredibly hard, were very friendly & helpful but just too stretched. It is the second time we have experienced there being a lack of staff.

We stayed at the Fox and Grapes overnight after going to a theatre show. The room was really lovely and cosy and the road outside was quiet. We were also provided with a continental breakfast basket the next day with cereals and pastries We were offered a 20% discount on the food as we were staying as guests. Both my partner and I had the Steak and Guinness pie with chips, and a lovely bottle of red to share. The food was exceptional -really really tasty. If we find ourselves around Wimbledon area again, we would definitely choose to stay here again

Sorry, our experience wasn’t great. Service was slow, even though the staff were pleasant but they were standing around when our table didn’t have drinks. Roast beef was tough however the rest of the meals were good. Minor point no working WiFi connection … when questioned … response was sorry WiFi is patchy nothing we can do.

Hospitality is always on point! My Main Issue is that they try too Hard with the Menu. Miss the Quality Favourites like Sausage & Mash & Fillet Steak. I always have such a Warm Welcome. The Baked Salmon was Great but they could service it with Traditional Vegetables & Potatoes. Capers & Fennel are not that Appetising.

Awful service. Used to be my favourite local restaurant when I lived nearby so was excited to go back. It's changed, the service was terrible even at the bar. Rude, slow and had to ask for the same thing several times. Not just one person at least 4 came to the table during the meal. We will not be going back in a hurry.

I love this place. Food was pretty good and their service was fab! This was our first visit, but will come back soon!!
