The Gentlemen Baristas Borough in Southwark

If you are looking for specialty coffee, you found it. The barristas make great espresso. My wife enjoyed her cappucino. I had the Racer from Rwanda. Bought a pack to brew at home.

Great coffee shop. Lovely flat white, as it should be. Independent. Great prices too. Friendly staff. Slightly busy which is a good sign. Will revisit.

Popped in for a coffee with our 9 month old daughter on Saturday 18 Feb around midday. Asked if there was somewhere we could change our daughter. There was no baby changing table so we asked if we could just change her in her pushchair facing the wall. Main manager refused and was just flat out rude. Absolutely shameful. We’re in London in 2023. Clearly some training in etiquette for staff members is required - and cleaning because the tables and general surroundings were absolutely filthy. Avoid. Avoid. Avoid. Especially if you’re thinking of going in with a child and may (shock horror) have to change or feed them.

Perfect coffee, perfect croissants. Nice cosy place to sit by the window. Friendly and quick service and nice atmosphere

Fantastic coffee and the staff were amazing. Even gave a free coffee card when one coffee was spilt into the saucer.

Not impressed ! Poor selection of food . Ordered HOT sausage rolls , two packet of crisps , chicken Salad roll , with tea and hot chocolate. It was Not that busy in the restaurant , at least three members of staff All they had to do was reheat two small sausage rolls and bring out two hot drinks . Had to wait a while for the Hot sausage rolls , that weren’t that hot ! No hot drinks with them ! I want them to be served TOGETHER. Had to remind the staff …. “Where’s my hot drinks I want have with my meal .” Tea came over , no hot chocolate . A while later hot chocolate came over . Now sausage rolls luke warm ! My crisps were Bacon and cheese …. Very little flavour …. Like ready salted . Poor crips . I’ve had much better . Hot chocolate was one of the worst ones I have ever drank/ tasted ! Staff were friendly but , too busy talking and not concentrating on the job in hand , serving PIPING HOT FOOD TOGETHER . ( that is a golden rule with any HOT food .) The whole thing was very disjointed . Would suggest you have two choices of sausage rolls . A good old fashion traditional type and the one you serve . Your Beef and radish one etc , not to my taste . Plenty of room for improvement Peter

I love the friendly welcome here. Lovely coffee. But the highlight was the almond croissant. Soft and almondy within a crisp fresh croissant dough. I felt elated and satisfied afterwards.

Great space, lovely staff, tempting food. Cosy on colder days, cool on Summer days. Goldilocks would like it. Shame about the terrible WiFi.

This was our choice of venue for coffee and breakfast at the start of a busy day on our post-pandemic return to London. We know that the coffee is reliably top notch (we took two bags of beans home with us), but were thrilled to find the food is equally good. Great service too!

Had a home afternoon tea delivered presentation good but little disappointed ,it was a gift to us but bread didn’t seem that fresh all cut uneven shapes the coffee and walnut cake a bit tasteless

Just wanted to say how great the Afternoon Tea was that I had delivered as a gift to Cambridge. Most places which are doing Afternoon Teas as a delivery at the moment are only doing so locally, but GB could deliver outside London. Arrived as scheduled, beatifully packaged. At £30 + delivery it's a steal. Will definitely order again and hope to visit them in person in Lodnon once lockdown is over.

Lovely interior and also tables outside for people watching. Great staff. Friendly and helpful. Rubbish WiFi.

We grabbed our morning coffee and hot chocolate here and were happy we did. The coffee was strong and fresh- not hot enough for me- but they obliged quickly to heat it up to where I like it. The sanwhiches were fine- just average- but good bread and we enjoyed them ( ham and cheese). it was vintage coffee house atmosphere- a widely disparate group at the tables. Close to our flat for these few days and we really enjoyed being there with the rest of the local community.

Had an enjoyable couple of hours at the Gentleman Baristas coffee house. So much nicer than those big chains and the coffee and tea was delicious. Not to noisy either and the smell of freshly brewed coffee and baked pastry just made me melt. A great place to take a break with free WiFi or meet up with friends. Definitely will be coming back.
