A wonderful afternoon into the evening spent. Fabulous atmosphere, full but civilized in nature with great attendance to serve our needs and enjoyment.

Consistently good food, great for family meals and an excellent atmosphere. Special thanks to Sye Brook for serving us so well!

Sunday Roast at The Greyhound served by George. The food was delicious, best Sunday Roast we have had locally. Thoroughly recommend it. George was very friendly and made sure we had everything we needed.

Delicious food and lovely surroundings. A lovely mid week catch-up with friends and as it was quiet in January the serving staff let us chat between food and drinks. Didn't feel rushed at all.

Beautiful pub, lots of space for food, drinks, working from a pub or just chatting to the team. Went with the January set menu and did not disappoint. Scotch egg cooked beautifully with crispy kale and gnocchi were perfect with the mushrooms. Definitely will be back again.

A nice Sunday Lunch. Served well by Sue at the bar and then checked into restaurant for are pre booked Sunday lunch. We had booked for approx 1 1/2 hours. The meal was very nice but could have been warmer it was pretty cold by the time we had finished. Although we were told to mind the plates they were only luke warm. Could have sent it back but we carried on. A bit disappointed at the end with the puddings menu. Seven choices including cheese board. Of the remaining 6 I think 5 came with ice cream on a zero temperature day. Went for the Apple crumble option, only to be told it would take 45mins when we only had 30mins left roughly. Did it need to be defrosted? Didn’t have a desert in the end. Still a great place but not yet awesome. Nice bottle of wine.

The waitress Molly was fantastic. She was polite and helpful and went the extra mile. I even commented to my teenage daughters that they should observe her in readiness for when they get a waitressing job.

What a wonderful weekend we had! The hotel is very comfortable. Breakfast and dinner was excellent. The staff are very friendly and approachable, nothing was too much trouble. Would definitely recommend staying and eating here.

We had a lovely evening at The Greyhound. Dan was fabulous ~ I was hesitant about a wine and he graciously gave me a taste to help me choose exactly what I wanted. Biers were also great as well as the delicious fish and chips for a main course. Rounding out the evening Dan brought Christmas Pudding with ice cream. Yum! Delicious evening. Thank you Dan.

Had a nice group dinner at the Greyhound on a Monday night. Dan provided great service and recommendations as we started with drinks and transitioned to dinner. Christmas pudding was nice with some ice cream. Unfortunately they were out of sticky toffee pudding which I hear is excellent.

We went for a family lunch at the greyhound, and they were so accommodating & friendly! We had 2 kids and the dog, they found us a table & actually moved us to somewhere more comfortable without us having to ask. The food we had was very tasty & freshly cooked. We’ll definitely be back. Was super disappointed with the food and service. Curry was a tomato mush and mess. It’s not a curry it was bad. Steak and ale pie was good but pastry was tough and hard making it overall poor. Fish was over cooked. Venison (apart from them not even asking how it should be cooked) over cooked and dry and chewy. They waiters kept giving a face. Even though so many tables were empty they kept showing us to a corner place. Anyway food was the most disappointing.

We had a lovely, well presented christmas lunch. The staff all worked hard to make the whole experience wonderful. Although we both had a concern with part of our meal, it was resolved quickly and without fuss. On the whole I will highly recommend the Greyhound as a very friendly and ideal place to eat and enjoy. My family and I have had Christmas dinner at the greyhound 3 years in a row now and every time we are astounded by how wonderful it is. Dan always provides amazing service here so friendly and helpful - it’s a fab pub would highly recommend!

Sadly we did not stay as the table offered was not where we requested and did not want to spend approximately £150.00 sitting by a door whereby everybody walks past to get to the bathrooms. Staff not helpful so decided to leave

We visited The Greyhound in Carshalton for my daughter’s birthday, there were 6 adults 1 baby and 1 dog. Because we had our dog with us we were seated in the bar area and not in the restaurant, both were very nice and we had a lovely meal, even the puppy was made a fuss of and given some dog treats. My husband ordered at the bar as he was having trouble with his phone so he couldn’t use the QR code to order. When the meals were served 4 meals were correct and 2 meals unfortunately were not what my husband had ordered at the bar! The waitress was very nice about it and said she would speak to the chef, she came back and apologised saying the kitchen were dealing with it but there would be a slight delay. We were happy with the way the waitress dealt with it and also happy to wait. While we were waiting Archie came to apologise for the mix up and asked if we would like some drinks as an apology. Hats off to the staff especially Archie at The Greyhound in Carshalton, their customer service is second to none, which is quite rare these days! We will definitely be back, thank you to The Greyhound. Tracey

We had a hellishly long wait for our food, which kept being promised but never materialised - well over an hour. There was clearly no manager in charge and we felt sorry for the staff who kept apologising but didn’t seem to be in control. So disappointing as we haven’t been in ages and were meeting family there.

Little Gem and so glad we chose to stay. Very professional, clean and welcoming. Great one night stay.

It is just a good quality, nice place that they make a real effort with the food. They were so accommodating of our dog and as we were out of the way a bit, we were attended to well.

This is a lovely hotel. The rooms were well appointed and the small finishing touches made it exceptional. The staff were welcoming, courteous and polite. The breakfast and dinner was superb. After a 25 year hiatus, having not been back here, it hasn’t changed, which was fantastic.

We stayed for one night on the Sunday special deal. The rooms are very comfortable and nicely decorated. Lovely en-suite shower room with good hot shower. Both dinner and breakfast were very good with generous portions. It was an ideal place to stay to visit relatives in the area.

Organised a surprise baby shower for a friend here and I am so pleased I did, the staff were so helpful and accommodating, the roast was yummy and the service was absolutely brilliant. I could decorate the area and table, we didn’t have any time restraints so we got to enjoy the whole afternoon. All the staff were so friendly and lovely, they looked after us with anything we needed, The Greyhound gets a 10/10 from me, we had a great time, thank you so much

Last minute midweek booking for double room with dog. All staff very friendly and heĺpful. All areas spotlessly clean. Very comfortble beds. Lovely breakfasts. Great outside large beer garden with covered area's. Large park across the road for dog walking.Have stayed in the Greyhound Hotel with our Greyhound many times and enjoy it's homely atmosphere. Thoroughy recommend.

we had a family lunch here and it was fabulous. from the service to thenfood , everything was excellent. Could not fault it. Apart from maybe too much food. None of us could finish our plates, there was so much food. so I wouldn't order starters. Wonderful value for money.

I booked the greyhound for our family reunion for up to 30 people; of which the space was free. The person in charge of the bookings and menu’s was Annemarie. She was very patient and helpful, as we had a lot of questions about the buffet menu; which indecently, turned out to be absolutely delicious, with more than enough for the 22 people that finally came. We had booked the space, for between 12-3pm and ended up not vacating until after 4pm and the staff were very accommodating. The reunion went off without a hitch and everyone enjoyed themselves, thanks to the Staff of the Greyhound Hotel/pub, carshalton.

Disgustingly rude landlord; we came here regularly with friends to meet up during maternity leave but have just been sworn at during the pub’s birthday event.

We stayed for two night here and the welcome was fantastic. The food was delicious and we felt very well looked after. The staff all went above and beyond the call of duty...explaining routes to other venues we needed to get to over the weekend in great detail. A fabulous place to stay! Oh ,and the bed was lovely,really comfortable and there were snack bowls in the bedrooms which were reasonably priced and very welcome late at night! Highly,highly recommend this hotel. Thanks so much for a wonderful stay!

I had travelled from the north west for an overnight business trip. I was going to book a basic room at a travel lodge/premier inn and SO glad I didn’t. The room at the greyhound was about £20 cheaper than the above for one of their gorgeous boutique rooms, has free on site parking and room service. The shower is superb, the room provides everything you could possibly need (for a woman especially!) The food was lovely and comforting after a long road trip, the fridge is actually COLD! Air/heating is controlled in the room and alters very quickly to suit your needs. I have sat in the bay window bench looking over the pond with a good book followed by a delightful evening meal in the room. The room is decorated beautifully also, the perfect night away from the kids and if I’m ever in the area again I’ll absolutely be coming back.

After being sat it took 10 minutes for them to even give us a menu. Everything just took a long time and the food was okay. Past experiences have been better though.

One staff member serving did not smile and looked like they didn’t want to be there, younger waiting staff were all very good. Food we ordered was ok Vegetarian roast and Vegan burger Ale, Lemonade and Cranberry juice Location is excellent, outdoor seating is good.. free parking but limited

Sunday roast we had had soft roast potatoes, hard parsnips and rather raw cabbage. Sorry. We enjoyed sitting outside on a nice day.

Served half a chicken breast for a Sunday roast! I used to love this place. It used to be our go to for Sunday roast. Not anymore! Overpriced chicken roast and you only get served half a breast. Avoid the roast !

We three managed to book last minute for a lovely meal. It was well presented and we were attended to in a timely and pleasant manner. Two of us had the chicken and ham pie, the best pie of that type I have tasted, with mash and cabbage and smothered in tasty parsley sauce which I adore. Our friend had the Cumberland sausages meal which she really enjoyed. For dessert, two of us shared the lemon tart with meringue and raspberry sauce. Delicious combination. It was a bit more expensive than other local restaurants but the menu had plenty of choice for an old fashioned plain eater like myself. It was in a comfortable room in the superb location directly opposite Carshalton Ponds. Parking was easy with their large car park at the rear.

Food was tasty enough but had to wait along time once we finished the starters. We sat in the bar and feel we were forgotten about. One of the bar staff came up to ask if we were still waiting and even then I still had to get up to go and chase the staff standing by the kitchen. It was a Sunday and the restaurant wasn't busy - it was just cooler in the bar. I had the crudités starter which didn't come with the flat bread and garlic humous it was supposed to - just plain bread and humous. Two of us had roasts which should have been fairly quick. Portions were not to size, my husband had the 3 meat roast, had a huge piece of chicken, I just had the chicken roast and had a really small piece of chicken. It was tasty but not worth the £20 and his was £30 on the same size plate!! I work in a pub and comparing it, it is a nice pub with pleasant staff but not good value.

I booked an area for 50 people outside which was perfect. The food was delicious and lots of it. The staff we were all really friendly and attentive. They couldn’t have done more for us. Thank you so much. We will definitely be back again.

Ordered fish and chips tonight with triple cooked chips ! When the order arrived at my table on the plate was fries ,.it would've been nice to be told triple cooked chips are not available, a bit disappointing really.

We had a wonderful family celebration here - the staff were friendly & helpful and the food was delicious. Great space for a separate gathering & lovely outside space too. Would recommend this lovely pub.

My girlfriend and I had a burger here tonight and it was terrible. It was only charred on the edges and completely grey on the flat part. I have no idea how they cooked it. It was completely flavourless and had no seasoning. We finished our chips and waited 20 minutes for someone to collect one half eaten burger and one quarter eaten burger but the bar staff didn't come and check on us. I took the plates up to the bar in the end and showed the bar staff to which we got an apology but no action. The seasoning in the picture was added by me to try and bring some life to it but it was still flavourless. The chips were good but the portions could have been slightly bigger.

As always great food. We had 3 x fish and chips and kids fish and chips. All very tasty. Tartare sauce is amazing so we asked for extra. Very nice and friendly staff. Will be back soooon!!!

Had saturday dinner here prior to a concert at Cryer Arts. Shown promptly to table and provided with water carafe without asking which is always nice. Menu is very brief with not much variety - burgers, steak etc plus some sharing platters. Fish and chips nicely presented as was the sausages with crushed potatoes and salsa, but this dish was rather bland. Couldn't identify any apple in the sausages, the crushed potatoes were unseasoned and the salsa looked pretty but lacked punch, it needed a squeeze of lemon, and some fresh herbs, garlic or chilli as it was pretty tasteless particularly for £20. Pub is stylishly decorated with a good outside space for a nice evening, but think we'll go elsewhere with a more imaginative or varied menu next time.

We used the Greyhound as a venue to hold a Funeral reception,the food was amazing,every guest that came to help celebrate the life of our loved one told us it was really a lovely send off.The buffet menu really has options to suit all tastes,it looked amazing and everybody enjoyed the food. Thank you to all the staff for their hard work.

We booked a hut outside to celebrate our little daughter's 1st birthday. I have no complaints about pub's general atmosphere and the quality of food, however we had a major problem with food service timings: we have ordered 5 mains and 3 of them arrived in 40 mins (which is okay, I can understand that they had a very busy service on a Sunday and the weather was glorious) but then we had to wait for another 30 min for the other 2 meals to be served... This meant that 3 people were eating and the other 2 sat watching them (and it was meant to be our lunch which got very late so we we really hungry plus were not sure how much longer our little one would last before we had to head home). I had chased the missing meals a number of times and the stuff was nice and apologetic about the situation, however I still think this kind of service is not acceptable.

Came here on their 'eat and sleep' deal which is an economical package on Mondays. Evening meal was a very enjoyable roast and the breakfast was the same good standard as on a previous visit. Room was very comfomfortable and the staff curteous and friendly.

MY FAMILY GO HERE WHEN WE STAY IN THE AREA .THE EVENING WE WENT FOR DINNER STARTED OFF WITH A VERY WOBBLY AND UNEVEN TABLE , ASKED TO BE MOVED WHICH WE WERE ABLE TO DO THE SERVER THEN GAVE AS MENUS AND TOOK OVER TWENTY MINUTES TO ORDER DRINKS !! THE MEALS TOOK AGES TO ARRIVE( EVEN THOUGH IT WASNT BUSY IN THE RESTURANT)E NOT IMPRESSED WITH THE YOUNG MAN SERVING US WE CANNOT FAULT THE FOOD WHICH IS ALWAYS EXCELLENT AND ALL THE FAMILY ENJOYED PLEASE IMPROVE YOUR TIME SEEING TO CUSTOMERS
