The Grill at The Dorchester in City of London, Westminster

Four of us ate in the restaurant. We went there spontaneously with high expectations and were quickly shown a table. The meat was OK, but nothing special - I've definitely had better. My friend's fish, on the other hand, seemed to be very good, so that was a bright spot. However, the artichoke was a complete disappointment! For the price I would have expected much more. The portion was tiny and suitable at best as a starter, not as a main course. The service was mediocre and did not meet the standards of a restaurant of this category. We were told after we “only” ordered main courses that the artichoke needed at least 30 minutes to prepare. Incredible! What should be positively highlighted is the ambience, which was really very nice and created a pleasant atmosphere. Unfortunately, that wasn't enough to save the overall impression.

Service and vibes are great. Food is the worst I had in London. Steer clear from this place. Don't be mislead by the fact that it's in the luxury Dorchester Hotel.

This place was fantastic. The staff were incredible and so friendly and the food was some of the best I have had for a long long time in London. Specially as (to my knowledge) it doesn’t have a Michelin star. Highlights for me were the squab pigeon and the mince meat soft serve (yes you read that correctly, unreal). Had a lovely chat with the chefs in the back, the front of house and the pastry chefs (Ben, lovely lad with great chocolate writing) on the pass too. Everything from walking into the door (Dorchester Hotel, as you expect) to every aspect of service and every little touch throughout the night. Couldn’t recommend more, will absolutely be coming back. Thank you to all the team and thankyou for the fantastic time and service provided.

Excellent. Superb variety on the menu, great service. Would highly recommend the Sausage rolls, Scallops, Beef Wellington and triple cooked Chips.

He cenado en el Grill at the Dorchester, así como en algunos de sus otros lugares, varias veces en los últimos años. Casi siempre ha sido bueno pero no extraordinario. Esta vez fue extraordinario... extraordinariamente malo. Se quedó sentado y esperando durante casi 45 minutos sin que se tomara una orden, solo para que nos presentaran un cheque por nuestro aperitivo y ninguna explicación de por qué no nos habían servido todavía. A estas alturas se estaba haciendo tarde para una cena en Londres, así que llamé a mi conserje del hotel, que trató de luchar para conseguirnos algo adecuado después de que el Dorchester nos defraudó de todas las maneras posibles imaginables. Podríamos haber logrado algo después de eso, pero el Grill y el Dorchester mantuvieron nuestros abrigos de baño como rehenes durante otros 30 - 45 minutos, incluso llegando a hacernos probar que los abrigos que había elegido para que usáramos esa noche estaban efectivamente a su “cuidado”. Además, para ser claros, describí enfáticamente al “equipo” de Dorchester los colores, marcas y estilo de ambos abrigos, por lo que no podía haber duda. Al igual que el conserje de mi hotel, siento bastante pena por la patética gestión de la parrilla en el Dorchester, ya que son vidas que son literalmente bastante tóxicos. No puedo creer que no haya escrito una crítica de nuestro restaurante favorito. ¿Puedo ser justo cuando hemos visitado las ofertas de Tom Booton tantas veces? La respuesta a mi propia pregunta es obvia si no hubiera sido tan buena la primera vez que no hubiéramos regresado. Hace mucho tiempo, la ex enfermera, pero directora del centro de rehabilitación y el hijo físico de Sprog recientemente fueron a almorzar. Somos bien conocidos por el equipo de ahí mi cautela al principio. Mesas bien espaciadas, frente a casa tan profesional, atentas sin sobrecocinar. Gran selección de “burbujas” por el vidrio rápidamente ofrecido. Buena carta de vinos con menús y las opciones de asado del domingo ejemplares como siempre han sido los entrantes, y postres. Solo una vez encontré el cordero principal, un poco frugal con un poco de grasa, pero eso es muy parecido a ese juez en el programa de baile. En general, los estándares enormes delante y detrás de la casa, todos los platos tendrían muchas veces, no tiene sentido sugerir unos sobre otros. Si anhelas la perfección de una manera sencilla dudo que muchos se acerquen a este templo culinario.

Wonderful service and food thoroughly enjoyed! I will be back to visit another restaurant in this hotel, as the quality is phenomenal.

What an amazing experience. Service was one of the best i’ve had in my life. Food was amazing, especially the scallops. They make you feel very comfortable and are always attentive to details. Definitely going back.

The best Sunday roast and probably the most expensive one in the city. But it’s totally worth it. Make sure you are very hungry when you go cause there is a lot to eat.

We had such a great time there! The food was wonderful - it was hard to decide which dish was my favorite between the delicate Pigeon, the exquisite monkfish, or the scrumptious fig trifle dessert. Beyond the incredible food, the service was impeccable : friendly, discrete and attentive to the requirements of our group. Marine welcomed us warmly and guided us through our dinner, Alex was serving us efficiently, and always with a smile, while Martina, the sommelier, recommended us bold but excellent and fitting wines to pair with our food. It was my first time there, and I already want to come back - thank you!

We had a wonderful dinner at the Grill, where we came to celebrate a special moment as a group of friends. The menu offers something for all tastes, combining grill classics with a much welcome twist and modern flare, while the elegant yet warm setting is perfect to celebrate a special occasion without being too formal. The quality of service did stand out: Martina, the sommelière, did a fantastic job suggesting perfect wines to match our dishes, while Marine and and Olga made us feel as if we were the only guests, even on a busy Saturday night. The best part is that you will have a great time here whether you're a true epicurean, wine connoisseur, or simply someone who's looking to have a good time and tasty food (we had all these characters in our group!): the staff will cater to your style and make your time here so good you'll want to become a regular!

Fabuloso almuerzo de cumpleaños en The Grill por Tom Booton! La comida era absolutamente delicioso, muy bien presentado y excelente relación calidad-precio. ¡Probé varios bouche divertidos, preparé el almuerzo de tres platos con la más increíble Cotta de Panna de Higos! El personal era fantástico con mención especial a Matteo Antola. Fue un placer cenar y volveremos - gracias!

Unfortunately, I'm not very well at moment. They invited us into the kitchen and I met Mr Tom Booton. Wonderful food and experience. At the moment the lunch set menu was only £35.00. Excellent value and superb and would highly recommend.

We had a great lunch at The Grill yesterday. The waitresses were all very friendly and genuine, and the decor and atmosphere in the restaurant is lovely. We had the set menu - the moules were an excellent starter and the chocolate and orange soft serve dessert was equally delicious. The chicken main course was very nice, but my only minor criticism would be that I think one side should be included for the price. Overall though, a very pleasant experience!

Exceptional! We came here with my daughter to celebrate her 21st Birthday and the food and service was exceptional. The Chicken Liver Parfait was soft and silky and had great flavour, while the Jerusalem Artichoke was cooked to perfection. My Monkfish main was perfection on a plate and tasted fantastic with a nice char, while the veal chop was beautifully cooked, and my daughter said she could have had seconds. The service was discrete but attentive and the wine list adequately covered the regions of the world. It also had my favourite wine from New Zealand, which went down a treat. The only area to improve is to have far more options in the ‘From the Grill’ menu, considering this place is called ‘The Grill’ it is seriously lacking in living up to its name.

Tuvimos un almuerzo no planeado aquí ayer y lo que un lugar fantástico que encontramos. Platos excepcionales, con un servicio aún mejor, nos lo pasamos genial. Una carta de champán mejor que la mayoría que he visto, y desearíamos haber visitado por la noche en su lugar para que pudiéramos haber disfrutado más. Con respecto al servicio era incluso mejor que la comida, simplemente personal muy agradable que hizo el almuerzo solo un momento muy agradable. No es relleno, es muy amable. Incluso se ofrecieron a cortar la comida de nuestro hijo ya que tenía una muñeca rota. Este personal es el mejor de su juego, y por lo que era perfecto tener tanto la comida y el servicio para estar justo en su punto. Los cuatro disfrutamos mucho, pero personalmente mi taco, pez monje con un lado de papas fritas era increíblemente bueno. Esto fue tan perfecto como se pone, gran personal y buena comida. Gracias.

Superb on all fronts. Hard to choose a favourite dish and Martina's wine recommendations were spot on. Staff were welcoming, knowledgeable and friendly without being overly attentive. A nice touch was meeting the chefs in the kitchen and getting a look at what happens behind the scenes.

The atmosphere is very good. Every dish is delicious. The service is a bit disappointing.

I made a reservation the day before and arrived at 7pm. Every dish was delicious, a unique British dish that reinterpreted traditional dishes and perfected them on the plate. I was able to see the kitchen at the arrangement of the hall staff, and the chef was very friendly and it was a wonderful experience. The desserts were also surprisingly delicious. Overall, it's a taste that even Japanese people don't mind. I would love to go to London again just for this restaurant.

Great food and the fixed menu at lunch is a bargain (of course I topped the bill up with a cocktail and some wine)

Excellent food and excellent service. We will return..... The Chicken & Mushroom pies tasted as good as it looked. We had a Sunday lunch and strangely it was very quiet, I don't understand why because this venue is definitely worth visiting- perhaps the Summer menu needs a bit of tweaking to include a roast on Sundays?

Really enjoyed this summer set menu. The mushroom ‘snack’ and chips are a must additional to your experience there! Everyone at the restaurant was very attentive and I was well looked after - had amazing conversations about all things food!

The menu here has evolved with not only a lighter touch for summer but also the use of well-selected herbs and spices to provide a new dimension to dishes and enhance the flavours. The green gazpacho of the starter on the set lunch menu – which is very good value – really stimulated the taste buds and the accompanying cured salmon, fennel, cucumber and almonds were all first class. A Corsican Vermentino was a very well-chosen wine by the glass to partner that dish and the main course poached cod (a generous portion). The strawberry trifle might have been traditional and simple but it was excellently executed. The Yellow Bourbon coffees are fully Mayfair priced but very good and we were looked after very well. The was a very satisfying meal, lifting the spirits. Another meal: We returned for a dinner to have some of the dishes from the new menu and again had an excellent meal – a selection of the ‘snacks’ (shimejis with mushroom XO, Kimchi on hash brown, grilled peach with coppa and prawn and salsa taco), the main course pork dish with grilled pineapple and fennel with ‘gravy mayonnaise’ and a side of chips and for dessert the tonka bean panna cotta with poached plums and sake sorbet. The flavours were light and interesting and all the elements were superbly cooked. The Fabal lager recommended to go with the pork dish was not only a good partner for that but also for the snacks. Service was again both efficient and very pleasant and contributed to a very satisfying and enjoyable evening.

An absolutely wonderful experience, from start to finish, the food was amazing but the staff made it for us, so welcoming!

Me and my friends visited this place, ordered cocktails, the restaurant was half empty, beautiful design, good atmosphere, overall everything was fine until the manager approached us. We were disappointed with the bald manager, who started an interrogation with his personal questions about work, where we work, what we do, in which office, do we know his brother, and it was all very unfriendly and rude, he put pressure on us, he wasn’t friendly and nice, we all felt threatened and we didn't like it. We lost our appetite and changed our minds about ordering a food, wanted to leave and asked for the bill. But the bald, arrogant manager came up to us again and said that this was a restaurant, not a bar, and we had to order food, at that moment my friend stood up for me, interrupted him and said that we didn’t like his behavior and the way he treated us, it was arrogant on his part and very disrespectful. So we paid the bill and left, this situation left a bad impression.

Service was good as well as the food but the prices were frankly outrageous, avoid this overpriced restaurant. The fact that the place was almost empty on a Saturday night speaks for itself.

Celebrated my daughters 19th Birthday here and what a night. The food was amazing and the service was super friendly and super high quality. We were looked after by Charlotte and Tom came to say hello. It was an evening we will never forget. Thank you to everyone. It was the highlight of my trip from New Zealand.

What a wonderful reception we had on entering The Grill. It was my wife’s birthday and she was greeted with such a warm welcome. We like to sit side by side instead of opposite each other and we were shown to a corner of the restaurant where we could see the whole of the restaurant ( Table 33). Tom greeted us and with his charismatic personality and was just lovely as he was when we saw him previously. We ordered snacks. The milk roll bread was delicious, alongside the mushroom parfait which was so smooth and the Madeira jelly was exceptional. For main course we chose Tom’s ‘ALL THE CHICKEN’, which I would highly recommend, was outstanding. The succulent breast, with the crispy beer battered legs and the well dressed Caesar salad was delicious. We chose The Grills Chips with Gravy Mayonnaise which was just out of this world. This was our second visit and we will return as the atmosphere and attention to detail is always exceptional.

I had a lunch reservation for five people at The Grill by Tom Booton, where we gathered to celebrate my birthday. Overall, the ambiance exuded luxury and sophistication, creating the perfect backdrop for our gathering. My husband and I visited The Grill by Tom Booton for lunch for the first time. Our experience at this restaurant was nothing short of exceptional. From the moment we arrived until we left, we felt welcomed and pampered by the food and the service. We appreciate Mattia Marcelli the general manager who went out of his way to make sure that we enjoyed our time there and also the team for putting together such a good experience. We were given a tour of the restaurant and the premises, nothing like what we have experienced before. The attention to detail and commitment to guest service set it apart from the rest.This restaurant exceeded all my expectations. You do not often find a place where every element comes together so perfectly. I’ll be recommending it to all my friends and family. I’m already looking forward to my next visit. I highly recommend it!

Really nice place good food fast service

Service was initially friendly and attentive but took the waiter 3 attempts to get me the right menu. I ordered the set lunch menu. The starter pork jowl was a tiny piece of pork with a lot of fat, I didn't enjoy it. The main of skate wing was good. The dessert of teacle tart was also good.

Among the best, definitely top 5 amongst the Sunday Roast Premier League. Great service and some pleasant twists to the usual fare. Thank you.

We thought the food was absolutely lovely. The starters were exceptional. The mains were beautifully done, hard to imagine what something is going to be like when reading the the descriptions, but when they were served they showed skill and balance. Service amazing without being fussily intrusive. A great lunch. We look forward to our next visit.

Had a wonderful birthday lunch at the Grill after a last minute decision where to celebrate. The ambience and decor is old school but so warm and relaxing . Staff extremely attentive and friendly with lovely wine recommendation to match our food selection as a very extensive wine list . Set lunch menu was good value and had a birthday extra dessert which was a lovely surprise Thank you for lovely and delicious lunch! Husband still talking about the best ever chicken pie!

The whole team could not have been more welcoming. Warm, friendly and made my birthday one to remember. Every dish was cooked to perfection, the flavours were divine and each wine complimented the dishes perfectly. I will definitely be returning to The Grill very soon. Enjoyed the evening here as it was my wife's birthday. The tram made a special effort in making her happy. Leonardo looked after us and was very polite so was the young waitress. Food was good value and was good portion.

Beautiful restaurant for my birthday dinner with family. The restaurant was a lot smaller and brighter than expected. I’d say more suited for lunch. There was enough choice on the menu and we all chose delicious starters I was looking forward to the chicken to share. Carved at the table. The experience was nice but nothing special. Left without feeling anything wow or that I’d want to return. Great food and wine, just was ok!

This place is truly special!! We dined in The Grill by Tom Booton and were very well looked after by Matteo, Sophie, Charlotte, and the team. They were all so knowledgeable and passionate, the service was impeccable. Everyone created a warm, friendly environment with a touch of class and style. We loved the sharing style concept and every dish that came out the kitchen was creative, innovative and delicious. It also doesn’t seem easy to find the perfect wine pairing for such a varied menu however Matteo did a flawless job! Thank you again for a memorable experience.

Abandon any prejudice you have (and I certainly did have) against hotel restaurants. The Grill has just provided one of the top dining experiences of my life. First, the venue - just a stunning room off the breathtaking lobby in the Dorchester. Second the service. It would have been so easy to have stiff, sterile and formal service - but that's not how they roll. It is immaculate service but done with personality, warmth and informality (they joked that they would wrap up the single remaining chip for us to take out!). All of the waiting staff genuinely engaged with us, picking up on the chat around the table, and making us feel that we were amongst friends. Third the wine. Yes, of course you can go mad, but you dont have to. I asked the sommelier to suggest whites that she felt tended to be overlooked. We took both her recommendations - the first of which was a fabulous 2013 Savennieres chenin that lists at £80 and should be easily double that. Finally, the food. Wow. So much to rave about. Cod doughnuts, chicken liver parfait and fried shimeji mushrooms - all stunning. N'duja scotch egg was extraordinary, but it was the take on moules mariniere which blew us away. No messing around with shells but instead an intensely flavoured and texturally structured dish that had us all wanting more. Main courses were equally high quality and you haven't lived until you have had Grill chips. But the abiding memory was of how warm, natural and engaging all of the service team was. Bravo, and thank you.

Che posto stupendo…gran parte dello staf di sala è Italiano e la professionalità altissima. Sono stati tutti di grande aiuto nel raccontare menù e vini (consiglio il pollo per due). Mattia (general manager) ci ha fatto fare un tour della cantina e cucine (una macchina da guerra). A dimenticavo la Tarte Tatin stupenda

Visited with friends. We had a fantastic time at The Grill and enjoyed the new sharing concept. Food was flavourful and creative (my personal favs were the lamb skewers and the ribeye). Service was top notch and the staff tended to all of our needs and wants, including cocktails, wine pairing and special dietary requirements for my pregnant friend. Tour of the kitchens and chefs table where all the magic happens was the cherry on the cake. Hello guys! Here I am 🤗 have to admit bit sleepy, but hey happy to talk about my food! Let me start with absolutely one of the best dining experiences and customer service I have received lately! I truly believe that this is one of the most important factors in regards to any dining experience. The point is you want to feel welcomed and leave that place with a smile on your face and wish to come back again soon! The manager was beyond helpful and it made us feel we were like family! He even took us on a kitchen tour, and I was so pleasantly surprised and impressed! Being a foodie and someone who loves cooking, I truly appreciated it! So thank you for that! Also thank you to a lovely bartender who came to greet us and offered a fantastic limoncello! Grazie! Now about the food. I enjoyed so much crispy semolina with Gouda cheese and salami on top! Delicious! Must try. Fried Shimeji Mushrooms were ok. Need some improvement in the batter and less fried. Lamb skewers were good. The grilled monkfish with lingonberries was amazing. Tender, juicy and done perfectly! Bravo Chef! Also, Cornish Plaice with anchovies and warm tartar sauce was so tasty and light. The fried anchovy was so good, (and I am someone who doesn’t love anchovies) but this one was so wonderful! Next was the double fried chips and I enjoyed them so much. Crispy and soft inside. Of course I always have space for something sweet 😂 the fig tarte tatin with fig leaf soft serve was so nicely done and super tasty. I personally adore figs and they were so delicious. Almost forgot my lobster Cesar salad, it was lovely and I am so picky with my lobster. It was fresh and light and properly cooked. You will love it! Cheers to all foodies!🙏

Need more stars ! The Dorchester is new to me. The grill is staged in the opulence of the Dorchester a scale of grandeur I’m not familiar with. Sat and felt slightly intimidated, an occasions i tried to remember appropriate table manners once taught and long forgotten from my parents. We ordered , the food arrived and nothing mattered the surroundings where irrelevant. Who ever baked the breads should be sainted ( I later found out it Josh the Sous ) Layered brioche and a round of Milk bread resembling a cloud. Amazing food, I had lamb as main course and I have to say that it's the best lamb in London! The service is also great, thank you so much for this lovely lunch.

An excellent lunch inside the iconic Dorchester hotel. professional and polite service with a friendly touch. Mattia was excellent! The three course lunch menu hit all the spots. Mr Koffman's squid Bolognese stands out in my eyes. Impressive wine list and the tour of behind the scenes really helps you appreciate what goes out to make the Dorchester and its eateries as successful as they are. Grazie mille

Food was very salty and Drinks were cold, also didn't Even ask if wanted water and kept topping up to of course charge.

Highly recommended!! We had a lovely dinner, every dishes was done to perfection, from snack, small plates to the main course. I would say it serves one of the best steak in London!. The fig tarte tatin was absolutely divine! Mateo and his team was professional, caring and made our evening hugely enjoyable! I am already planning my next visit!

Incredible experience at the Grill by Tom Booton! Couldn't recommend it enough. The new menu is great - definitely worth trying a few bits from the snack menu, which were all very tasty! The service was extremely attentive and we loved that the chef, Tom came out to explain a few of the dishes. We will be back!

The Grill by Tom Booton I’ve been wanting to visit the Grill for quite a while now and on tuesday it finally happened. I could easily complete this review by using one word WOW but it would be an injustice to the amazing lunch we had to celebrate my birthday. The food was exceptional , the service was excellent so I can’t thank Tom and his team enough. The restaurant has a fabulous location in the heart of the Dorchester Hotel. We enjoyed a pre lunch cocktail at the Artist’s Bar before making our way to the restaurant. Our welcome was very friendly as we were escorted to our table. Firstly though they had kindly arranged for us to sit at the counter to enjoy a fantastic selection of snacks and a complimentary glass of champagne. We had the privilege of seeing the chefs prepare and then serve them before our very eyes. The snacks including oysters , brioche with chicken liver parfait , fried shimeji with mushroom xo sauce , lamb belly and a couple of charcuterie dishes. They were all amazing and I just wish I could remember each of them in a bit more detail so please forgive me. We then moved to our table for the rest of the afternoon. The menu starts with small plates followed by large sharing plates , main courses , sides and puddings. First to arrive was some heavenly Bread to tear and share. We then ordered four dishes from the small plates to start. These were the Lobster and Cheese Tartlet with isle of wight tomatoes , courgette and optional caviar , Squid Bolognaise a la Koffman and basil , Crispy Pig , bbq coleslaw , nduja and the Caesar Salad with smoked sardines. Now it was time for the mains. Here we opted for the Middle White Pork (for two) with mirabelle plum and black pudding sauce and Tom’s famous All the Chicken (for 2 - 4 people) that included a whole chicken a wing and a pie. For the sides we chose the Grill’s Mashed Potato with coastal cheese and crispy onions , buttered runner beans , bbq leeks with ricotta , hazelnuts , pistou. We were also given the Ratatouille tart fine with basil a complementary gesture from the team. To say this was a magical feast would be an understatement. Now it was time for desserts and Tom decided to send out a selection of four from the menu. They were the Chocolate soft serve with cookies , marshmallow and fudge , banana and chocolate cheesecake with crispy pecans , waterloo cheese ‘pastel de nata’ with english relish and last but not least an amazing fig tarte tatin with fig leaf soft serve and roasted vanilla chantilly (2 - 4 people). Once desserts were finished Tom came over for a chat and asked if we’d like a tour of the kitchen and believe me when he said tour he wasn’t joking. You go down by an escalator and then it’s just kitchen after kitchen with each one designed for different culinary delights ie restaurant , afternoon tea and room service it really was amazing to see. We then headed back to our table for tea , coffee and cocktails to round of the most exquisite dining experience. As I said at the beginning I can’t thank Tom and his team enough for their amazing hospitality. The food and service was amazing so if you haven’t put this place on your list yet then I would highly recommend doing so. Thank You Tom and all your team for a truly outstanding dining experience and look forward to seeing you all again soon.

We went to the Grill for Sunday lunch and the whole experience was outstanding, from the moment we arrived the customer service was amazing. The Dorchester reception and bars are stunning and rhewarmth and friendliness of the staff is second to none. The Sunday lunch was beautiful and the service exceptional.

Life is busy right, its hard to find the time for what one could regard as trivial endeavours, such as writing a review. what do you get out of it anyway? Well you could I suppose take some pleasure in giving credit where its due, where it has been earned. That's why I decided to write this review after years of abstaining from any writing whatsoever on trip advisor. I thoroughly recommend a visit if you are in town. I cannot recommend enough how much you should visit in fact. We had an early lunch here on Friday as a couple and what a lunch it was! The team here have every right to feel incredibly proud of their achievements. I love what they are doing here at this exceptional restaurant within this amazing hotel. It feels just right, and it just feels right. A brilliant blend of liberal yet conservative dining, of detailed technical cookery and of unfussy simplicity, of respect for the classic ways, and of courage to assert the contemporary too. no easy task this incidentally! We had travelled down from Scotland for a few days and this joint was on our hotlist for sure. I imagined it would be very good, it exceeded expectation. Here is a chef who has his philosophy sorted, and who has his suppliers sorted, and who has his team sorted. The service is smooth, friendly, sharp and knowledgeable. The vibe is confident and cool. We drank champagne & ate some snacks; cute morsels of sardines with summery red pesto, crisp gem & a nicely mellowed pokey chilli hit, some exceptionally delicious fried clusters of shimeji shrooms with a big hitting xo mayonnaise. off to a good start then! We had mackerel with buttermilk and cucumber which had a vibrant appearance and was acidulated to perfection , and a baked onion with cheese and bacon, who's flavours were reminiscent of an umami rich French onion soup but without requiring medical attention for a burnt chin and a dry cleaning bill for my favourite blue shirt. what a hit. We enjoyed a Pouilly-Fume and shared a roast chicken which was a complete joy, likely the best I've eaten in my life, (and I'm fairly old man who has eaten his fair share or roast chicken!) We were stuffed so decided to share a dessert, the restaurant were having none of it, knowing it was my birthday so sent forth some extra bits to fatten us right up, all of which were absolutely unnecessary and absolutely delicious. Thanks so much to all those who looked after us during this memorable meal, thanks also for the tour and for the seamless transition to a quiet table on the rooftop terrace for just one more, we had a blast!

Really great attentive service. Beautiful place. Good food, but I expected more and expected better, especially considering the somewhat hefty pricing. Don't come at me. Nothing was wrong, I just had higher expectations.

Had a fantastic breakfast experience at The Grill! Every bite was pure magic. The double baked croissant and the raspberry custard cream pastry were heavenly. Tom's Bacon & Cheesy Sauce was the perfect combination of sweet and salty, and the white pudding and omelette were soft and creamy. I'm still dreaming about the cookie. The staff are the true stars, and treated us with such warmth and great tips on each meal. The head chef, Tom, came out to chat with us, explaining more about the ingredients, menu creation process, and the history of the restaurant and hotel, which made the meal even more special. The friendly atmosphere and stylish decor create a welcoming ambiance that makes you feel right at home. If you're seeking a breakfast experience that will make your taste buds and friends/family happy, The Grill is the place to be.

Superbe déjeuner dans une très belle maison. Le grill du Dorchester nous a régalé : un bœuf avec des pommes de terre en triple cuisson au top après quelques entrées parfaites : langoustine snackee au feu de bois préparée devant vous et d’autres régalades et flacons. À côté il y a de plus la pâtisserie du Dorchester ou la forêt noire revisitee est à découvrir … et le carrot cake une merveille ! Bravo à Mattia Marcelli le manager d’une équipe internationale de très haute volée en qualité tant en cuisine qu’en salle: on reviendra !

i was very disappointed. The restauafrant has lost its old charm . The old menu has been changed for a very small menu offering mainly seafood, which I cant eat due to a seafood allergy. No choice if vegetables , only broccoli. Dinner plates far too small The desert choice was excellent Whilst I know the restaurant has just reopened it was very strange that it was very empty on saturday evening .

Christian was our server and he was so conversational and informative. The whole service team made us feel special and treated us so kind. The steak for two was heavenly.

Delightful place, attention to detail, excellent service from all the dining room staff. Today a friend and I decided to celebrate Easter at The Grill restaurant, what can I say.. impeccable, elegant and fabulous place. I thank all the staff for the welcome and for the excellent service given to us, especially by the barman Daniele Esposito who looked after our palates with professionalism and care until the end of the service. Very passionate about his role. Grazie Daniele:) I thank another waiter (I don't remember his name unfortunately) well informed and prepared, who gave us the opportunity to meet the Chef and to visit the spacious and immense kitchen, allowing us to congratulate them. Lovely sunday roast at The Grill, staff with high service standard and very friendly. Daniele was really helpfull during our stay for the lunch, checked on us and served us always with the smile. Will come back for sure and spend another lovely stay in this amazing restaurant.

This was our first visit to The Dorchester since the refurbishment works have been completed and it didn’t disappoint the hotel looks fantastic. Having visited the hotel on numerous occasions and eaten in their other restaurants, this was our first visit to The Grill. The restaurant is decorated beautifully with ornate ceilings and modern touches. All staff were extremely friendly and attentive without being intrusive and the menu was varied with imaginative twists on classics. The food was well presented and absolutely delicious. Would recommend and cannot wait to return.

Possibly the last of many hotels I had never visited. Put on my Christmas wish list was Sunday lunch with my family. We boarded the train full of excitement and much anticipation. The doorman opened the taxi door promptly upon arrival, we felt like VIPs, until we entered the building , it was a very cold day and everyone of us wore an overcoat, but disappointedly there was no meet and greet or warm welcome, so for me a very poor reception. On enquiry from one of the two concierge , sorry to interrupt but where is the cloakroom I enquired. Not at all the reception I was expecting, very poor I thought on finding my way to the cloakroom. No lounge for pre lunch cocktails but we’re offered drinks at our table, instead we sat at the bar which was a bit of a let down in what was more of a bistro than an upmarket finery, saved by all the fabulous staff and head waiter, thank you. The food was fabulous and the golden roast potatoes were the best eaten in my long life coupled with a Pidgeon dish cooked to absolute perfection. A wonderful treat and food to meet expectations. The main entrance hall was fit for royalty, decked out in all its glamor , stunning in gold and flowers everywhere . Shame on arrival we were made to feel like intruders ….

Beautiful experience! Came here for valentines celebration with my girlfriend for lunch. The service was outstanding, the food amazing and location stunning. The restaurant supervisor Matteo took very good care of us from start to finish. I definitely recommend this restaurant and I will be back for sure! 5 out of 5.
