The Harbour Terrace in Weymouth and Portland

Fab, fab, fab. Went for lunch today. Lobster (caught that day just around the headland), chips, salad and corn 🌽. Absolutely perfect. Owner and staff so friendly and accommodating. Location is superb. Wine/beer/drinks menu extensive. Can't recommend it enough.

Don’t know why it’s taken so Long to visit Harbour Terrace. What a gem! We were 3 couples and went for 3 luxury sharing platters. This included, sirloin steak, peppercorn sauce, lobster with garlic butter dip, prawns, chorizo and scallops skewers, beans salad and chips. It was all excellent coupled with great service, location and very reasonably priced. Will be back for seafood and their steak evenings in the winter. For non locals it is part of Charlotte hotel if you wanted to stay as well.

Amazing and fresh seafood, great location at the harbor and casual, welcoming atmosphere. Will we come back if in Weymouth? Absolutely! ☀️

A brilliant Sunday lunch looking over the harbour and eating amazing food. Definitely one to go back too. The food was cooked on the grill in full view, all so fresh. The service was amazing. Don’t miss this little gem.

Amazing and fantastic new menu one of our favourite restaurants when we are visiting Weymouth we were lucky to sample the new menu that has our favourite dishes plus some welcome specials. I always love a special and they were amazing . I had the sardines so fresh and tasty, a massive plate of food well worth the cost the taste was amazing My lovely wife had the sea food linguine and absolutely loved it As always the owner Dave is always an amazing host this place is so good book early

Amazing quality and super friendly staff.. we were made the best seafood Weymouth has to offer. Idyllic views of the harbour from the terrace really means this place lives up to its name as the best.. not to be missed.

We stayed in this gorgeous guesthouse for 1 lovely night, which was far superior and a much warmer welcome than a larger hotel down the street the night before. The bedroom had a lovely side sea view with a window seat. There was parking on the street outside but the highlight is the back terrace overlooking the harbour in the morning for a scrumptious breakfast including the fluffiest omelette ever from chef Sue or Suzy?? Best fish restaurant in Weymouth without a doubt. The couple who own this bend over backwards to deliver outstanding cuisine and service.

An ad hoc visit as we were passing. Stayed for 3hrs eating delicious uncomplicated FRESH sea food with lashings and lashings of (unmeasured) white wine. Casual, cool, never any pressure and absolutely the best! Would recommend this to anyone visiting Weymouth. Thank you. PS the chef on the griddle deserves a medal!

What a gem of a restaurant. Wonderful location, staff and a well priced, varied menu. We had half a lobster and a steak. Both cooked to absolute perfection and such a reasonable price. Best meal we have had in Weymouth, by a mile. Kids shared a Caesar salad and chips and loved it. Everyone rush here, I cannot recommend highly enough.

Our first time visiting The Harbour Terrace having read many great reviews. As I am vegetarian my husband had to wait till we had family visiting so he could share the seafood platter - lobster, prawns, crab claws, scallops, whitebait and scampi all served with corn, salad and fries. He was in heaven. Kirstine went out of her way to accommodate myself and my niece, baking vegetable and feta tarts specially, a really lovely touch. Highly recommend for the food and the views.

Wonderful atmosphere..thoroughly enjoyed the banter with others and servers... great BBQ'd seafood and and our favourite Languedoc Wine. Very relaxed and almost Caribbean !!!

Absolutely stunning array of different dishes to suit all needs. Choice of wines are also excellent, but what sets this place out from the rest are the amazing owners who run it. Wonderfully welcoming, attentive and more importantly HILARIOUS! We had the absolute best time spending the afternoon here on Thursday 6th Jul. Our dog Dave was also welcomed and made a new friend in Floyd, the resident Collie Dog. Will most definitely be returning - thanks guys for the best time!! Highly recommend to anyone

3 ladies, all recently 50 years young Fabulous setting, fabulous hosts fabulous food- we had an amazing afternoon- just perfect!!

Such a welcoming and friendly family run establishment. The food was delicious and clearly sourced locally where possible. This is a genuine establishment where you can eat as a visitor but feel welcomed as a local. Top stuff.

We had a seafood platter & Prosecco voucher to use at the Harbour Terrace which we used on 25 august. We were greeted by the lovely, friendly chef who was at the bbq grill who sent us up to the first floor terrace. All the tables overlook the harbour so it was a stunning outlook. The platter was enormous - lobster, scallops, chorizo & crab salad. Thr waiting staff were attentive, friendly and professional. A really lovely lunch

I'm a little loathed to share this little secret but its too good not to and the owners Dave & Kirstin deserve every bit of praise. You cannot go wrong here. The food, location and hosts are just great and you go away feeling like you've really papered yourself. We've been here a few times and loved every visit. If you cant get in during the summer, look out for other events on Facebook. Valentines Night a couple of years ago was also one to remember.

I would say we are picky eater since we also ran resturant for many years, however the personable approach, great location, great view and amazing food will be my summary. Another lovely lunch at the Harbour Terrace. We wandered in on the off-chance and were gladly accepted, for lunch on the flower filled Terrace. The upper balcony was full but we were happy to watch Suze hard at work, grilling fantastic seafood and preparing lobsters, prawns and crab. A lunch of lobster and grilled prawns followed, with a lovely fresh salad, fries and a very drinkable Spanish house rose. Lobster and prawns done to perfection. Our host chatty and genial and happy to accommodate our pup, Oscar. Five stars Oscar's review. Bonio snacks, first class and a lovely change from tiny biscuits, some restaurants give you. Good shady area and easily accessible bird bath, for sipping. They did provide fresh water but I prefer with algae, for piquancy. Good view off the harbouring and lots of feet and dogs. Hostess was keen to teach me new tricks, for extra bonio. It seemed a reasonable exchange, so I obliged. After my humans finished lunch, I was introduced to the resident canine. A handsome fluffy collie, whom I enjoyed a great ten minutes romp around. Apparently my humans have been 4 times before. Happy to come back. Also enjoyed lucking ice off the floor. Oscar... 5 stars

Best lobster we've had for ages, cooked on an authentic grill and beautifully done. Even the chips were well seasoned and delicious. For 20 quid for a half-lobster, you really can't do better. Other menu options looked fab too. Staff were friendly and there is a nice terrace out the back for outside dining. Simply superb.

We had the seafood platter, it was very tasty. Coffee was also good.

Back again to the lovely harbour terrace every time we are in Weymouth we try and eat here the food is outstanding it’s all cooked to perfection the wife had scallops and me and my sone shared the sharing platter I am prod to say we smashed it my son claimed the mussels where the best he has ever had and I agree the lobster is amazing I would love to know his secret it so soft and tasty it’s just so nice sitting and eating lunch overlooking the wonderful harbour With great hosts David and Christine

This is an absolute must when visiting Weymouth, from the first class service and the freshest of seafood you will ever have . The location on the harbour is fantastic which is a busy working harbour besides super yachts coming in. I would highly recommend...

Yet again beautiful food and the warmest welcome and service from the hosts! I can't rate this place any higher - the view is the best in Weymouth, relaxed atmosphere, felt safe and so well fed and watered. It really is the full package, thoroughly recommend.

I've eaten lunches and dinners here several times since their refurbishment in March. David and Kirstine are fantastic hosts and can't do enough for you. The lobster is even caught fresh daily by the chefs brother. They're located directly opposite the lifeboat and the harbour views are amazing. New local favourite.

Visited last Saturday as a family of eight for lunch. Wow what a location, sat in the sunshine overlooking the harbour. The seafood is sourced locally you just don’t get any fresher. We had the sharing seafood platters and also the sea bass. Absolutely excellent this is a must visit when in Weymouth. Outstanding and can’t wait to go back was the opinion of us all.

We made a group booking in December for today the 10th of April. Kirstine and Dave have been completely supportive with providing us with a very comprehensive menu. They have also been very accommodating with the cancellations we have had. I think his is one of the friendliest establishments we have been to in almost five years of lunches around Weymouth. The dining area has been refurbished and we all appreciated the colour scheme and the light fittings. The food was served promptly and was delicious. I will certainly be back as I am sure many members of our group will be. We could have sat on the sun terrace but though it was sunny it was a bit cold today.
