Nearly £20 for 2small apple juice & 2 very average crab sandwiches. The crab was nowhere to be seen, the bread was average & slighty dry. The side crisps where average at best and the side salad, a none dressed mix of cherry tomatoes and some dry leaves. When paying this much I expected more, specially being on the coast. All the other places were taking advantage of the government 50% off as this place wasn't it was the only place we could find a seat. No high chair for our baby tho. It's a shame to leave a review like this in these times, it must be hard for businesses but I felt like they had taken advantage of us.

Can’t fault the Ivy Coffee House, it’s a quaint little place on the old harbour-side that does exactly what it says on the tin. The cafe itself is well kept, clean and a pleasant place to be. Service comes with a smile and we were made to feel really welcome. There is a good selection of homemade cakes and everything is fresh. The coffee was excellent and the breakfast was just what we were after, at a good price.

I visited here today with my mum for a spot of lunch. I had a ham sandwich on white bread with a side salad and crisps. The bread was a 'normal' white sliced loaf, the salad consisted one cherry tomato cut in half and the smallest amount of lettuce ever. At £5.50, although it was nice, I thought it was very expensive. I also did not like it when the owner reprimanded the waitress in front of me for not placing the spoon on the saucer correctly. This should not have been done in front of me but said in private.

The tea was lovely, and came with a pot of hot water to top up the teapot, so we got 4 cups in all. Lovely views as it is situated right on the harbour. With the same friend (see previous review) we decided to have a bite to eat there during the Seafood Festival. My friend decided on the ham salad and I had the crab one. The place was not busy but it took ages for the salads to arrive and when they did what a disappointment! Basically some pre-packed supermarket salad dropped onto a small plate with a few crisps on the side! No dressing, nothing! We were actually glad for the sachets of mayonnaise! On the plus side my friend said that the ham was nice. My crab was ok! My friend had the cappuccino and it was ok and I had 2 glasses of tap water served lukewarm! No ice and lemon here! The bill came to £22.50! What a sharp contrast to the other salads we ate at the other establishment and to top it all they do not take credit cards so cash only! Places like this annoy me as they seem to rely on tourist trade and have a, who cares if this tourist will not come back plenty others will, attitude. Well I am not a tourist but a local and expect better from businesses in my town! Would I go back? Not a chance!

While in Weymouth we stopped here and ordered the crab baguettes - they were served with a little salad and crisps and was delicious! The staff were very friendly and attentive to our dog who was flat out under the table in the shade. For £7 each it was a fair price to pay for a lovely lunch. The only downside was that we were sat opposite an outside bar area where everyone was drinking beer and my husband wanted a beer but they didn’t sell beers here and wouldn’t let him go over and buy one to bring over to drink here. After we ate we went over and sat inside the bar and had a couple of beers there.

Their board advertising crab sandwiches invited us in to a warm welcome. The homemade sandwiches were made to order offering a choice of white or wholemeal bread. We had been walking for some time in Weymouth when we decided to stop for a bite to eat. There was just one table free outside the Ivy Coffee House, overlooking the harbour and in the sunshine but just out of the strong breeze - perfect location. The menu looked a bit more expensive than some of the snack bars on the seafront but we hoped it would be worth it. The staff were very welcoming and helpful. We opted for mature cheese baguettes at a whopping £5.50 each and hoped for something rather special. Our food arrived quickly, with a little salad and crisps added on the plate. The baguettes however were nothing more than the approx 8" thin baguettes you can buy in any supermarket, cut lengthways and in half, bit of butter, two or three small slices of cheese, that's it. Not even grated cheese, not tasty mature cheddar and not filled. It was really disappointing and we felt quite cheated. Sorry but we won't be going back.

How disappointing! really not up to standard, the hygiene is poor. CLEANING TABLES WITH POLISH! well that's a first, that does not clean the tables it just polishes. The cook was constantly picking food and dipping it to what looked like a mayonnaise tub, eating grated cheese and the list goes on, also texting on her phone, no apron or washing off hands. I think an open kitchen is sometimes not a good idea, as the floor was filthy, and the tops were messy. Even the toilet was cleaner then the kitchen. The other 2 girls were friendly, but so was the cook. Word of advice put yourself on a hygiene course.

Avoid! We went in for ice cream - they had about 3 flavours out of the 15 or so advertised. They blamed delivery. When we ordered 5 they handed us 5 pathetic tiny scoops in tubs - didn’t even ask if that was ok. When we complained the manager aggressively told us “we are closing next week so running supplies down” as if we were somehow outrageous to expect cones/to be told there was no cones before we paid. It needs a good clean too inside.

Excellent Sunday lunch, roast beef cooked as liked and requested, really good selection of vegetables although would have liked roasted parsnips!!!!! Roast potatoes crispy and fluffy , carrots sweet and Yorkshire pudding gorgeous. Good selection of Desserts and drink. Staff very friendly with excellent customer service; my only slight criticism is that there was a wait from when the plates were served and when the vegetables were brought to the table however we all really enjoyed our meals and will go back. Thoroughly recommend Salt.
