Was OK, however there no heating on, was freezing, had 1 drink and left, went to the Ship and Whale, which is a better pub

Lovely pub with great food and have always been made to feel welcome. Very confused by some of the reviews that say staff are rude because they are definitely not. They have always been polite when we visit and made time for a chat with me and my family. Would recommend to everyone. Especially for a Sunday roast.

It’s a wonderful, warm pub in South London run by a lovely family. Service is great, food very nice and a lovely view of the water. We would definitely recommend.

Had the absolute worst burger here - tasted like microwave food. Nice location but not a great pub. Also one of the managers is really weird and apparently keeps track of people using toilets. Never seen anything similar in any other pub.

Friendly local pub. Good food including vegetarian options. Nice range of beers, spirits and wines. Views across the water. Friendly staff, good service. Plenty of room for larger parties and outside seating for the better weather (we went in December so it was a bit chilly!).

Came here on a Sunday afternoon and had a lovely time. The food and service was polite and friendly. Food came out in a very reasonable time and we enjoyed sitting my the large windows looking at the water. The place was busy but not packed and getting a table was easy. Food was delicious and I hope to come back soon to try other things.

What can I say. You have to get your own menu and cutlery. Order at the bar. Food makes absolutely no sense. Spare ribs floating in some kind of gravy. Other meats were also tough. In itself a nice location on the water, but you really shouldn't eat anything here. At most get a beer.

We were being told off by just asking some ice for our tap water. (The staff said they have to ask manager’s permission to get ice. Ridiculous!) P.S. We have bought x2 pint each.

This was by far the worst pub experience I've ever had in London. We barely stepped foot inside before they kicked us out! My friends and I walked in, and immediately we were met with a very unwelcoming atmosphere. The pub was nearly empty, and we were told the kitchen had closed five minutes earlier. We were disappointed and I went over to let my friends know what had happened, but before we could even discuss whether to stay for drinks or leave and find food elsewhere, one of the staff came over and told us, "If you're not ordering, you need to leave" in a very harsh tone. We'd literally been there for less than five minutes. Completely unnecessary! To make matters worse, the staff member had the nerve to criticise my friend for using the toilet. We had every intention of dining there, but after hearing the kitchen had closed, we were just trying to figure out what to do next. There was absolutely no excuse for such rude treatment. I can’t shake the feeling that the staff's behaviour towards us had something to do with us being a group of young people of colour. I highly doubt they would have immediately kicked out a bunch of white English lads within minutes of arriving. Disrespectful, rude staff, and a completely unfriendly atmosphere. I will never be returning, and I strongly recommend others avoid this place as well!

I’d been here before and liked the food, so naturally, I was looking forward to coming back. Unfortunately, this visit couldn’t have been more different. My friends and I missed the kitchen cutoff by just five minutes, which was disappointing but understandable. However, what really shocked us was the behaviour of who I assume was the manager (a guy with glasses who we initially thought was another customer). Instead of treating us with a bit of patience or professionalism, he approached us immediately and seemed determined to rush us out the door. He also seemed annoyed with our friend who used the restroom and even made a point about it, which came across as a bit creepy—almost as if he had been watching and keeping tabs on who was going to the bathroom. His attitude was downright rude, as though we were being pushed out just for daring to come in, even though it was still open and others were having drinks. It was made pretty clear that if we didn’t pay up immediately, we’d be shown the door. We barely had a chance to decide if we wanted to stay and when we pointed out and questioned his attitude towards us, he just got angrier. It was uncomfortable and deeply disappointing, especially given how much we’d been looking forward to this visit. After such an unpleasant experience, neither I nor any of us will ever come back here. It seems like a lot of other reviews have said the same thing so BE WARNED!!!

Great local pub, reasonable pricing and good views across Greenland Dock. Unpretentious and a real community space.

Great location, right by the river with plenty of space outside and inside. It feels very warm and welcoming. The fish and chips are an absolute mastery, I haven’t seen such perfect batter in many places and they get it perfect every single time. The buffalo wings are to die for. Great selection of drinks. I cannot recommend this pub enough!

Well situated with views over Greenland dock , nice selection of beers, larger and top shelf spirits. The food menu has things for everyone but Sunday roasts are their go to, nice portions ( you can go large for extra meats) very enjoyable, I would recommend!

This place HATES dog( little cockapoo puppy) because of he dropped the water so the grey hair lady refused to give him water again and said “I made a mistake”. I reflected this to the other man at the bbq place, he even joked my dog is the other big dogs breakfast, excuse me??????? Never again, so shame for a neighbourhood business, can’t believe what sort of people are running this place, go bankrupt soon !!!!!!!!!!

Reasonably priced ales (under £6), great food, plenty of space both inside and outdoors. Clean, friendly atmosphere. Beautiful waterside views. Highly recommend for a pint and/or a meal any time of the day. Also fantastic for watching sports.

It's ok... But they tell you at the bar you need to have plastic if you're outside. Then you go outside and not a single person has plastic.

Came for the Euros, spent 100s of pounds asked for the bar staff to fill my water bottle before I left and they refused as they said it weren’t a legal requirement, even though it is for an establishment serving food and drink, will not be back. Bar staff were extremely rude the entire evening.

Best experience best view and amazing beer and cocktails plus very cosy local pub. I suggest everyone should visit once in life.

Really lovely pub by the dock. Plenty of space outside to enjoy sunny days and just nearby a little park where you can lie down with friends or family. Drinks and food were really nice.

Querky 60s building... with stunning view over greeland docs and plenty of outdoor seating at two levels. Interior amazing large windows.. clean and spick and span. Fine Fullers beers & wines plus guest beers.

Lovely little spot by the river

I am a local in the area, and I will not go back here or recommend it to anyone. Over the last year, I've been a regular for Sunday Roast, an occasional pint, and have brought them 50-100 customers. I don't believe it's worth recommending any more. It's not worth it. I have nothing to gain from sharing my experience publicly. Just that the staff was extremely rude and uncourteous. I came in with a few friends and sat down for pints and were sipping on it as we often do on a hot summer day. Just then, my other friends came in to join us. They asked for a glass of tap water. The staff declined them rudely on the premise that they're not paying customers despite us having bought beers already -- which is a bit strange given they're with us, but we let it slide. Shortly after we went in to get more beers, and asked for tap water. The staff said no yet again, saying I can't give water to my friends as they are not paying customers, which seemed illogical and the tone was rude. He went on to harp about the fact that they pay bills for water and they won't give it to people who are not customers.. and that we should just buy a glass bottle of water if it's for the friends. This behaviour to me is absolutely unacceptable especially after we've spent well over £50. I said the water is for me, and after back and forth that is uncalled for they finally gave me some water. I am proud local of the culture & heritage at the Surrey Docks, and I've brought numerous new people to this pub from all over, all collectively we've easily spent > £1000. However, this really put us off and we're not going back. If you're looking for pubs in the area, I'd go anywhere but here.

Food really isn't good for the price

Randomly found this pub when in the area... There were only like two other people in the pub come 9pm on a weekday, so don't expect an atmosphere unless their peaks (weekend, Thurs night...) are busier, I'd say. The food was actually not too bad - I got the burger. Obviously don't go in expecting the best burger you've ever had (it's a pub not a burger joint), but it had a decent flavour and was cooked well enough. The fries were decent, and there were lots of condiments at hand too. The girl serving behind the bar was friendly, polite and hospitable. Lastly, it's next to the water - so on a bright evening/night or sunny day, I imagine it's a nice place to chill with a view.

Great pub lovely staff. Good food and beer. Nice view of the water. All in all a lovely place to go with the family or just friends and of course on your own.

Great space for a family birthday party

Probably the worst pub food I’ve ever had and it’s also expensive. Got a chicken burger, which consisted of the hardest and most thin fried chicken ever, and a couple of lettuce leaf cuts. As dry as you can get it, no cheese and nothing homemade about that or the chips.

Defo try big fat fried British potatoes with your pint. Definitely will come back.

Food was actually a bit disappointing. As for drinks; was with someone who couldn't drink alcohol, and their lime and soda was a ridiculous price. Was told "that's London prices", but that proved to be a load of rubbish as we tried other pubs in the area since, and they charge much more reasonable prices with better food. Has a nice view of the docks though.

Curt service, too quick to take glasses and plates away. The lighting inside is too harsh, feels like canteen. However the location looks great for summer to get some chips and beer outside if you can.

I’d give negative stars to the service if I could. Incredibly rude management, I have absolutely no idea how they managed to keep up a place for more than 2 months.

Food was lackluster. Service was super slow and wanted us to walk over to the counter from our table to order food. The manager was also upset at us for wanting to split the bill among ourselves. It was my birthday and wanted to have a good time in this place with a great view. But the service and the management really made it a disappointing experience. I will not be returning…

Nice location next to the water. We were sitting >30min with menus in our hands before the waiter came and told us they close the kitchen in 5min. The Angus burger was underwhelming, 0 effort. Just a mushy supermarket bun with a tough patty. No cheese/ tomato/ onion/ sauce (…). Like the Burger, the chips had no flavor

The nearest Tube is Canada Water which is a ten minute walk. . This pub was built in the 1980’s as part of the redevelopment of the old timber yards around Greenland Dock. It was the only new pub to be built as part of the redevelopment of the area. . This pub is set over two floors with the upstairs bar reserved for busier times and functions. The decor is simple, the main ground floor bar is a semi-circular room with a long curved front wall comprising of a series of floor to ceiling windows. There is modern wood flooring throughout, bare brick walls and columns with ledges to congregate around. The servery is a good size with a solid wood counter. At the front of the pub are plenty of benches which overlook Greenland Dock. . This Fullers pub has a good beer selection including four cask ales. I decided on a pint of Amstel, my pint was great and cost less than six quid. The food menu was traditional pub grub, Fish & Chips costs £17.95. . I arrived around 3.30pm on a Saturday afternoon. The pub was fairly busy with the majority of punters enjoying the spring sunshine on the benches by the water. I stayed inside and got talking to a very nice local chap sat at the bar. We were talking as you can imagine about pubs and life in general. He mentioned that he had a tough time with health problems which he has overcome, we both came to the conclusion that life is for living and enjoying yourself whenever you can. . This pub may not be the most aesthetically pleasing boozer you’ll ever visit but the location is fantastic, as it looks out over Greenland Dock. The staff and locals were very friendly and the beer and food not overly priced. Was as big as I thought it would but that is not a negative in any shape or form. The staff are polite and the food was lovely and the toilets were the best we have been in at a restaurant. Would recommend this place.

I am not from around here and wanted somewhere to eat. Initially the 4 star overall review was good, but I realised there was some controversy in the reviews. The burger meat was ok. It tasted alright. I would have liked to have a burger burger sort of thing, with onions, tomato, cheese and some sauce on the burger. Chips were a bit chewy, salad was not fresh. Hence a 3 for food. Service was nice. Hence a 4.

Roast dinner is a must ….friendly staff

First time here visiting a friend. My wife is a wheelchair user, yet we found the staff extremely helpful. The customer service was top drawer. Next time we are in the area we would love to return. Customer service costs nothing but means everything. Thank you .

Considering its prime location, it felt a bit faded from grace in these post-brexit/covid days. Considered the menu, but got a glazed look when I mentioned gluten-free!

On a nice weekday evening I decided to bring a book here and enjoy a pint outside facing the dock. Shortly after finishing my pint, the glass was taken away by bar staff, and not ten minutes later a different member of staff interrupted my reading to tell me the tables were for paying customers only. I explained that I had just finished a pint, and he walked away only to come back a minute later to reiterate his point—clearly not believing me. I can understand wanting to turn a table if it were busy, but I was literally the only person sitting at a table outdoors (and there are several tables). I asked if I would need to order another pint if I wanted to stay, and he said yes. I did end up continuing my reading with another pint, but at the nearby Ship and Whale, which is where I’ll make sure to go in the future. It’s a nicer pub anyway.
