Very poor service. Bar staff were rude and unhelpful particularly the barmaid. We were meeting with a group to have lunch but left after trying to buy drinks.

Ordered a steak meal on the app asked for some English mustard was told they didn't have any went to the Asda by the station to buy a pot what a let down witherspoons about disgrace

Atmosphere is amazing, prices reasonable The place was closed for a while but couldn’t see any difference in what was done Fish and Chips was plentiful and tasty The crumble and custard came without custard and ice cream was offered Wasn’t fond of the apple crumble hence my 4 ⭐️ review

Went here on Friday evening. Everything was great. There was a lovely lady walking around all the time making sure the place was clean. The food was nice and the drinks were a good price nice atmosphere with a mixed age group. I would come here again

Just tried to get into a near empty Romford Wetherspoons at 10.15 on a Monday night. Was stopped by a doorman asking for age identification. I am 63 years old! Decided to go elsewhere!

Just visited moon and stars after nearly 2 years away working and brought my severely disabled partner with me in her wheel chair, we were having a great until taking my partner to disabled toilet, in which it takes time and unfortunately my partner cannot use hand rails .cut it short a loud mouth female wanted to change her babies nappy and obviously couldn't . On opening the door we were confronted by 3 men and being aggressive asking why we took so long ,I took that very personally and it kicked off and I was throne out the pub and assaulted by the door man and my partner was screaming as also no one to get her back in the wheelchair, .one of the duty managers said we were tacking to long , ect ect , the staff should be sacked and the doorman jailed , police have been informed ,an absolute disgusting experience for me and my partner as I also have disabilities from army injuries

Very beasy buy got Sean to straight away. No complaints about the food ax it was very nice,grateful value for money

Weird place when it comes to seating arrangements. Tables seem to be crammed together.

Great food,great service. Could do with a little spruce up and few more beans on the plate. However, always good value for money. Our main dining place now.

Don't appreciate drunk elderly men coming up to our table and slurring over us saying he had booked our table and generally being a pest!! We didn't even bother ordering food!! Won't be going back, Staff should be watching their customers especially when they are clearly being a nuisance!!!

Enjoyable busy pub. Go there because you like cheap drinks, acceptable good edible value food.... And the buzz of a decent vibrant everyday pub! The food is brilliant for the cost, can't fault what we had. Best value in town.

While having a great night and enjoying our drinks, my parents went out to smoke! My mom returned back and then the securities stopped my dad in the entrance, saying that he can’t go inside because he’s drunk (he had 1 beer). My dad was frustrated and he said that my family is inside and I’ll call my people (he meant me) He called me and I went. The manager told me that while he was going inside the security stopped him and he refused to talk and then that he threatened them! Asking what did he say, she said that he’ll call his people and the police because they don’t let him to go inside! I explained to her that my dad doesn’t know to speak in English and it’s a misunderstanding. And she was continuing saying that he can’t enter the pub, where he was already there. Friendly reminder: Don’t go for smoke, you’ll never now if they’ll let you to come back to finish your drink.

Great Weatherspoons, although it has been very busy at all times since The World's Inn closed next door. Rooftop seating is fantastic when the weather is nice! Rooftop is currently closed, but being refurbished to look even better for this summer, service can be slow in busy times like the weekends, especially ordering via the app upstairs.

Ok for a quick drink the food is good we go ofren after shopping

Barmaid wereing red and not in unform was very rude to customers then got them removed from the pub after spending over 50pounds

Basic Witherspoon, nothing to write home about. Toilets upstairs....pain. Ok if you want a cheap drink or two.

I've been putting off writing this review about my last week's experience at this pub, but have decided to pluck up the courage and leave it here in hope to prevent someone else experiencing the same shenanigans. Firstly, I'd like to say that this matter will be going further as both my partner and I who suffer with complex mental health and learning disabilities were ridiculed and discriminated against by the so-called management of the pub. Things would not have escalated if they just listened. Whilst I struggle with dealing with a lot of social situations, I was trying to regulate my partner's emotional state at the same time. It all started when some idiot decided to pester my husband in the toilet to buy crack cocaine and when my partner refused, it got a little loud. He felt targeted and unsafe by the staff for expressing to them about this absurd criminal behaviour in the toilets in broad daylight on a Wednesday afternoon. The staff were dismissive of this and my partner couldn't deal with it, so whilst I bought him a pint of Guinness to calm him down (which worked!) we were soon faced with another set of problems. Three bar staff were constantly staring at us, laughing and pointing. Even I then began to feel so uneasy that I had a panic attack. After 15 minutes of ordering the Guinness, a camp-looking hipster barman appeared and boomed "we have to remove this drink from you!" - this behaviour confused us, as it was a delayed response in relation to the commotion in the toilets prior. My husband, being an Irishman was not impressed and was forced to down his whole pint to save me from being robbed of £3 or £4. The barman proceeded to then make disgusting comments such as "you are all the same" and "pathetic paddy" — we find this extremely racist and offensive and not acceptable, hence why we'll be taking this further. Stay away from here if you're Irish, even if they lure you in with St Patrick's Day celebrations! After the barman had his critical bashing with us, my anxiety was through the roof, especially seeing my partner try to explain he is hard of hearing, and has special needs and the barman totally disregarding these - the barman proceeded to give us life bans for being loud and challenging him. Due to this sensory overload, I threw some remaining ale that was in a glass over the barman and we grabbed our things and left... only to then be confronted by some passing police officers who were left just as confused as we were.

Nice to be back in Romford, just paid £12.40 for a pint and a half in London £4.49.in spoons.

Can honestly say it was the worst burger meal I have ever ordered and attempted to eat. Whilst price wise burger, chips (10 chips served) and drink was cheap, it really was awful!! Serving staff dull. Cheap and cheerful is great but there has to be some standards and edible food.

Its the second time im there and last. The fact thats cheap its just not worthy. Pizzas and garlic bread as thin as a tortilla. Cold. The waitress ( young girl) basically throwing the plates on the table. The lady that came to pick up the table, rudely checking if we paid before (we paid through the app). The cutlery was dirty, they replaced them. Have to add it was at 12pm, not a busy time. Also that we were a group of 4 ladies that work in customer service, not just picky customers.

Visited on the 21st January. Nice, quaint spoons near an industrial shopping complex. Enjoyed flicking through the books while waiting for my chips to arrive, which were unusually damp for spoons chips but we enjoyed them nonetheless. Staff seemed slightly bored, often pacing back and forth to our table. I understand how boring it can be when there are few customers and you want to go home, but give people a little space and time to finish their food. I appreciate the attentiveness, though. Would definitely come back again.

My sister became unwell and the manager Shan looked after us and got and paid for a cab home for us. The team were amazing. Highly recomend this pub.

Lovely food and service...but diabled toilet 🚻 a health hazard 🤢 not been in such a filthy stinking toilet in years...i came out disgusted by such a disgrace of a place...to three staff chatting.... I said excuse me but your disabled toilet is @#£%&$¥ disgusting for any body to use... its filthy and stinking and I will be reporting this...by the look on their faces I knew I would get no response so went back to my table finished my drink and got my coat...response was the three were still standing talking...need I sat more 🤢🤢🤢🤢🤢🤢🤢🤢

I visited this pub just for something to eat its a weatherspoons so cheap and cheer full I ordered the stake it was OK but I was only half way my meal and the floor manager came over and asked if I had eaten some mozzarella Fries that he put on my table by mistake I said yes then he was very rude and demanding me to pay for them I said no it wasn't my mistake he took them from my table so I started to finish my meal then another manager came to the table demanding me to pay for them I said it was not my mistake then he tryed to take my beer as compensation I took it back off him got you and left I will never go there again the staff are so rude

We had breakfast here before we went away for the weekend. The breakfast was ok, you can have unlimited hot drinks with certain breakfast. I had to complain because as we ordered our breakfast a man started drilling in a cupboard by the bar. Someone told me he would be 5 minutes. Then he got up and stopped as he said he couldn’t complete the job unless he carried in drilling. I was just happy not to have to listen to drilling anymore!!!!

Breakfast at Wetherspoon it’s always good, can’t go wrong with that. It was super busy, even though it was morning, but found a table, and staff were very friendly. Always grateful when I find a Wetherspoon wherever I’m going, because I know that a good breakfast deal is covered! However very odd part about this one, is that they have cameras at the restrooms. Big NO NO! I’m aware it’s for safety etc, but have cameras outside, not inside, invading our privacy.

Typical Spoons in the centre of Romford. Handy for a cheeky pint before going to the greyhound stadium or catching a train.

Popped in here today for a coffee (6th Dec 2023) and I am full of compliments for the staff. I had an unpleasant incident with another customer however the way in which the staff managed the situation and the speed that it was dealt with was amazing and I really can not thank them enough. I would definitely recommend visiting.

Awful pub! Most customers look scruffy drunk men. It’s a wino’s pub! Staff absolutely diabolically useless!

Want to go into a pub that DOESN'T have music blaring out and a place where you can talk to your friends? Then I will give The Moon and Stars pub credit for that. That's possible, unlike in a few other pubs in Romford. But that's about as much credit I can give it, really. Yes, the drinks are cheap but the clientele this place attracts has been awful since the pub next door to it shut down. It's full of odd characters and youths who look like they are in competition to be the most masculine male there. And everybody smells of weed. Door security consists of crew that would be like the Wish version in comparison to the security that The Goose employ. Service is normally fine but the decor is straight out of the 1970's. It's gloomy and dated. Adding a roof garden recently did not do anything to change that. It's not a pub I make a habit of going to.

Nice place, 1st visit back in a long long time. Busy as are most wetherspoons, but managed to find a table, food and drink service from the app is excellent.

Great food / value for money. Staff very nice and good service. However Don't understanding their pricing policy. Their counter part in Ilford, is cheaper by 90p on average with their drinks.

Horrible service and food 😫 I have ordered mixed grill well done( I mentioned 3 times at the till) they brought the meat with pink in the middle I spit out the meat in my plate and stuff 10 mins later brought back and give me the same plate which I have spit on it.... ridiculous service treating customers bad

This perfect place of the moon and stars has such a great atmosphere, unfortunately my cup has plastic inside which might've probably been a hazard for a blind guy but for me I felt great having my eyesight to witness this. I know my drink was powerful enough to kill any of the germs that must've been infested in this plastic.

We only went in for a point of 🐻 all was well got served quickly. Good atmosphere, Sun was shining and bear was cold. Great...

The food was cold there was no one cleaning tables asked behind the bar when ordering food but no one came until our food arrived we had to put all the dirty dishes on another table and so we're other people so yeah will not be eating here again

Popped in for drinks with friends, too loud to talk, due to lots of late teens early 20's in there getting their quoter of drinks before going clubbing. Unfortunately, once they've had 3 drinks, they become immature. The service at bar was slow at times despite bar area not being very busy....bar staff too busy chatting! Table service is much better.

I love the rooftop terrace. The downfall is that although the pub isn’t necessarily busy, drink orders take a while to make their way up there. The real ale that I ordered downstairs was very flat. Maybe some staff training in pouring traditional ale might be useful.

It’s cheap with good coffee and drinks. Nice staff. But place is very dirty and similar dirty toilets to many pubs. Choice is this dirty place or the other dirty place with no toilet paper. Lots of fat people eat the cheap food. I give it 5 stars as overworked staff do a good job in the very unhygienic conditions & it’s cheap. Best coffee ever and nobody give a better deal for coffee.

Nice pub but the stuff is useless!I order from the app to the table, i wait 20 min and nothing come, i was passed to the bar and my order seat on bar for another 10 min and no one served. Finally i was going and take my order from the bar.

This pub is horrible! All bar staff just acting like work hard but the queue is soo long and waiting time is too long. Most of bar staff cleaning glasses walk around do nothing. They are rude and the tabels are not cleaned at all. I am not recommend this pub. Try anotherone.

Have been here since while. Nowadays it’s getting better and better and I can see some new staffs especially serving at the bar for the past 2-3 months. Good work. Keep it up.

A normal stand Wetherspoons. That has very little to offer. But it’s big redeeming feature is it’s rooftop terrace. It is well decorated and a superb part of the pub. The service is friendly but very slow at times.

The pub is packed. I'm on my own and I've been ordering via the app. The drinks have been brought to my table really quickly each time despite pub being packed. I'm very grateful because by going to the bar I would have lost my seat. Fair play to the staff for providing such a good service during busy times. Good value too.

On our visit for lunch, they were rushed off their feet and as a consequence table service was a bit slow. But otherwise, it was the usual good stuff...

I have just eaten with family and there was a woman behind the bar called Caitlyn who was absolutely rude to me in front of staff and all I asked for is the Aircon to be turned off as it was making our food go cold. But on the other hand our server Damien was absolutely brilliant towards us. So the 1 star service is not aimed towards him he deserves 5 stars.
